The Eater Dallas Holiday Gift Guide for 2022 - Eater Dallas

"Dallasites in the know will recognize the name Bonton Farms as the place that provides local goods to many of their favorite restaurants or might be familiar with its excellent farmers market and cafe. The farm reclaims unused land in South Dallas for farming, offering jobs and food programs to locals. Its jams are made on-site by workers learning how to test and source the ingredients, package products, and manage sales relationships." - Courtney E. Smith

Doris was great showing us the farm animals! They are very obviously well taken care of and happy animals. Tons of baby goats when we went and all were so sweet. The honey butter coffee was award-worthy and the biscuits at the restaurant were insane too! 😋 Love what they are doing in the Dallas community and love the outreach they are doing. I fully support this mission and recommend them! We will be back!

Bonton Farm’s Flying Donkey Coffee Shop and Bonton Gardens - hidden gem! Boynton’s signature Honey Butter Latte is smooth and not too sweet, but lots of other latte flavors available. Limited baked goods. Attached Bonton Market has fresh vegetables right from their gardens. Cafe has indoor and patio seating. Patio is spacious - some larger and smaller tables. Patio is covered. 95% street parking. Closes at 3p, so get here by 1:30/2p to eat, get coffee or shop!

Peaceful place. Omg, the honey butter latte is amazing. I found my favorite coffee shop! I haven’t tried the food just yet but if the latte was amazing, I know the food and everything else is (will be back to try). Reminds me of being back home in Louisiana at my grandfather & grandmother house in the country as a kid/teen. It brings back memories and happiness. Everyone is nice there and I also love the goats lol! One love!

We were met at the restaurant with a warm, smiling face and her name was Mel. She shared the visions of the farm, the community impact and we enjoyed the farm to table experience. If you have a chance to try the onion bacon jam on one of your food items, do it! It will change your life. Thank you Bonton farms for a great experience experience. We love what you are doing in the community.

Google
Amazing food, outstanding service Beautiful location, cafe, coffee shop, market and farm garden. Locally sourced Phenomenal food in the perfect setting. We had a wonderful weekend brunch can’t wait to try everything on the menu!!! Fabulous

Google
This place is amazing. Food and service so good! A very special thanks to the lady that made my husband and I feel welcomed as soon as we walked in. I understand the restaurant may not sell coffee for the intentions of having customers explore the market but there’s people like me that really enjoys coffee with breakfast. This time unfortunately I only had water to drink. I did get coffee when I left the restaurant! It was so good.

Google
Wonderful restaurant, staff, and vibe. I recommend this for the family and brunch gang! Breakfast Skillet, Shrimp and Grits were different, BUT delicious! Honey Butter Latte is amazing and a must try!

Yelp
This may be single handedly one of the best chicken sandwiches I have had. I had the chicken bacon ranch with fries. It was a nice well seasoned and hearty chicken breast with some of the freshest ingredients. It was like a kick in the mouth yum. The fries were perfectly seasoned and just the right crisp. The meal was plated perfectly and had a little pizazz on how the sandwich stacked up with that toasty crunch. If you are looking for a great lunch this is the place. Be sure to hear the story and their purpose. It is a place of I lived closer I would frequent a lot.

Yelp
I saw this place featured in Dallas Love list and decided to give it a try! We don't live in the Dallas area so this was a bit of a hike for us from Fort Worth. We came in on a Monday (MLK day) and the market cafe was open! There is conflicting information on whether it would or would not be open (Yelp says one thing, their website says another) but we decided to take our chances! My husband and I both enjoyed our meals! The food was very good but a little too greasy for our liking. It also is a bit pricey for 2 people. You can order coffee but have to walk next door to the coffee shop which is what we did! The coffees were good as well! The highlight of the dish was the honey butter!! OH MY GOSH... it is amazing. I could've eaten it all in one sitting. 10/10 recommend getting that!! After we ate, we walked around the property a bit. There was a goat walk at 11am but we ended up not staying long enough to go to that. There's is a large covered patio and a few wood burning fireplaces out there too. I can see this place being packed when the weather is nice or on the weekends! Overall, we enjoyed our time here and would return in the spring when the weather is better

Yelp
I've been waiting to try the Market at Bonton Farms since I moved to the area, but couldn't catch them during opening hours (so I frequent the coffee shop next door, which I definitely suggest). I finally caught them open, and had to try the chicken people keep raving about. But first....APPETIZERS! I opted for the fried green tomatoes since the ones at Ida Clair and Whiskey Cake were disappointing. These? SMOKED THE COMPETITION! The fried green tomatoes were perfectly battered and seasoned, and paired with the pimento cheese they provide--beauty in a bite! Who else does a happy dance when they get that perfect bite? Just me? Oh okay, anyway let's continue! So I ordered the chicken meal and it comes with two sides, so I ordered the Hoppin John and Creamed Spinach since it's still New Year's week, iykyk! The creamed spinach was delicious, I wished it was a little hotter as far as temp, but still rich nonetheless. The Hoppin John has this comforting smokiness to it that just made me want to curl up in a warm blanket with it and a good book, with the Swamp Tea they make (order that, too, trust me on this). The chicken was fried well, I'm not a big salt girlie, but it needed a dash of that OR some Louisiana hot sauce to set it off. The service here was EXCELLENT. From the lady at the front counter that gave auntie vibes, to everyone seeming so cozy and elated, to the waiters, and the waitress who slid me a piece of cornbread to go with my meal! The restaurant is currently only open Thursday to Saturday so make sure you carve out some time to taste what they have to offer and make your way over next door to get some fresh produce from the farm!

Yelp
Everything available here is farm-to-table, fresh, and delicious. The place is so calm, with both indoor and outdoor seating. All the dishes are at an affordable price. People are extremely helpful. They also have a separate coffee shop next door. They close around 3 pm and are open only from Thurs-Saturday.

Yelp
This is my go to spot for lunch meetings. The food is always solid and the portions are big. It's also my go to spot for out of towners.

Yelp
It was such a beautiful and refreshing atmosphere enjoying Saturday brunch on a farm. The food was great! I will definitely be back.

Yelp
The market is just ok, love what they stand for but the service was crap, totally a shame since all the other vibes and coffee shop were amazing. Went in today 3/1 about 11:30 ish and were seated immediately however we were not acknowledged until about 10 mins after, we almost got up and left. Our server, a business killer for sure. The food was good... might return and give it one more try.

Yelp
Everything here is so fresh and SO GOOD! the staff are wonderful and very friendly. Really good Mac and cheese and the catfish was perfectly seasoned. Definitely recommend coming for brunch!

Yelp
Pretty good food, one of the first places where I can't finish the whole plate, so very good proportioned food for the price. Definetly would recommend coming here.

Yelp
this is a quintessential, hidden gem. the staff is lovely, the inside is clean and pleasant. there are paintings on the wall by a local artist (my guess). now the food... the food was amazing! i ordered shrimp + grits, mater sandwich, buttermilk pancakes, and the swap tea. shrimp + grits can be hit or miss for me, but the s+g at the market were definitely memorable! i asked to have mine's prepared sans sausage... but definitely did not take away from the flavor. i love fried green tomato sandies and no one ever puts them on the menu when they are an excellent vegetarian option! i really like it, but i wish the batter was seasoned a bit more to really make it pop. however, i was still extremely grateful to have an awesome vegetarian dish on the menu! the swap tea was also great!! i was initially afraid that it would be too sweet, but it wasn't. i think the black tea really balances out the sweetness. i will give the buttermilk pancakes another try, because they were a little too cajun on one side and that burnt flavor was overpowering. i did like the consistency of the pancakes, a thin fluffy cake is my preference. this place is worth coming from any neighborhood to visit! there is ample seating, you could definitely bring a group. i also wish that they had mimosas but i guess fried green tomato beggars cant be choosers. bon appétit friends

Yelp
I was brought the chicken sandwich so I don't usually review places I get brought but this was the best chicken sandwich ever. It looks amazing and it tasted even better. I'll definitely take my daughter soon in person, it was thst good.

Yelp
I stopped by this morning and asked for their most popular drink. The barista recommended the honey latte, and it was absolutely delicious--a perfect choice! I'll definitely be back, not just for the coffee but to pick up fresh fruits from their farm. They also make candles and offer a variety of other unique items. The vibe inside is so cozy and homey, unlike any typical coffee shop or restaurant. It really feels like a welcoming space to relax and explore.

Yelp
Love the concept! Farm to tables will always have a special place in my heart! Plus minority ran Food: We started off with the fried green tomatoes and they were okay, but would not get again. My meal was the Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was delicious! Super juicy meat! Now my side of fries were on the colder side and soft, I would change the side out. My friend went with the Bonton Fried Chicken entree and the pieces of chicken were big! Service: friendly, but a miss. My friend doesn't eat pork and the green beans in her meal had bacon, but it was not mentioned on the menu. The waitress didn't offer anything else but gave us an extra plate for her to throw the green beans on... I would recommend, but ask questions regarding the menu and how they make the items

Leslie P.

Yelp
I heard about this place on the radio and was intrigued enough to go and try the fried chicken with my wife. The person on the radio said it was considered some of the best fried chicken around. The chicken pieces were flats and drums, nothing on the menu indicated that. The chicken and fries really didn't have any recognizable seasoning. It was average at best and pretty pricey for the neighborhood in my opinion. In no rush to go back.

Yelp
Came in for some coffee and Stephanie on the farm gave us the most heart warming/educational tour. Our barista was a gem of her own, very fast and welcoming my daughters and I enjoyed every minute of Bonton Farms. Definitely go check them out! You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Bonton Farms is a Dallas gem. This non-profit urban farm provides fresh veg to a community that lacks access to traditional grocery stores. There is a coffee shop and farm store, and of course the amazing restaurant--The Market at Bonton Farms. The menu is inspired from the farm and draws from traditional comfort foods...fried chicken, corn bread, black eyed peas. Keep in mind that the weekend menu differs from what is served for lunch on weekdays. We perused online menus before our visit and were disappointed that chicken and waffles weren't on the brunch menu when we visited. Disapointment didn't last long. We were because we were immediately impressed by the pancakes and fried green tomato sandwich we ordered. In addition to our entrees, we sampled the collard greens (BEST DISH OF OUR MEAL) and the Hoppin John. My biggest criticism is that the Hoppin John rice was clearly instant. For me, it ruined the dish. My daughter was less bothered...so maybe it is fine. Service was prompt and attentive, generous with explanations and recommendations. I'm unsweet tea drinker, but I wish I'd been with someone who would appreciate the swamp tea...I'm so curious. As I alluded to earlier...the collard greens is the must-order dish. My fried green tomato sandwich was fantastic, and the fresh cut fries were satisfying. I'm looking to order the chicken or meatloaf on my next visit. During our late-winter visit, farm-fresh produce wasn't available, of course. But we still enjoyed the market store. We purchased lotion, shampoo, and canned okra. The bulk shampoo is mint and rosemary scented...think Aveda on steroids...it makes every shower a spa. 12 ounces in and I'm already addicted. Bonton Farms has a noble mission to transform access to food, economic development, and employment opportunity in their community. Your patronage supports this important goal.

Yelp
The employees were all so inviting and welcoming. The restaurant was clean and cold on a hot summer morning. Omg this breakfast was HEAVENLY. We ordered the breakfast skillet and cornmeal pancakes. Both were so flavorful and worth the wait. We definitely see ourselves coming back. We love this restaurant.

Yelp
The Food was good and the service showed that they all work together as a team. The star of the Meal was those Greens ! Will have to return to try some other items!

Yelp
Foodie/Adventure Alert! If you're looking for farm-to-table food, check out Bonton Farms, the City of Dallas' first urban farm, restaurant, coffeehouse, and market! Their goal is to provide healthy food and jobs for their local community. Bonton Farms is also home to free-range goats, chickens, turkeys, and much more! So go check them out and tell them Ms. Hope sent you! Overall I rate my experience a 10/10, it's a beautiful place, so peaceful and serene. However, the food 7/10. When we received our food it was not hot, room temperature at best. But, I would definitely go back again and support. I love what they are doing for the community. #MsHopeEats - Fried Green Tomatoes - Fried Chicken Sandwich (A.D. s tried chicken breast. comeback sauce, coleslaw)

Yelp
Good food and an even better mission! Bonton Farms is a such a hidden gem in South Dallas. It's a TRUE farm to table, as the garden is literally right beside the restaurant. The staff is from the community, which I love! They were all great servers- super sweet and hilarious! The place itself is pretty small, but very, very clean and modern. We tried the catfish, which came with black eyed peas and rice. It was good, but not sure that I would get it again. We also got the fried chicken and it was good! Everything was really fresh! We closed out the dining experience by taking a quick tour of the garden and farm. The highlight was meeting Snickers and the other baby goats!

Yelp
Did not expect a place like this in this part of Dallas! A farm to table type of brunch and I did see the quality and freshness in their market and food. The place is a relaxing place to be and the service was exceptional. I had their pork belly skillet. The presentation was wow! The potatoes were great along with the seasoning and sauce. I loved the texture of the pork belly but unfortunately it was bland. I had to add salt and pepper to have flavor. I also had a little taste of the chorizo omelette. The chorizo had flavor but overall the omelette was okay. I did enjoy the environment of the place and would like to visit again and enjoy their patio.
google avatar

Yelp
Update that breakfast menu to include a traditional breakfast option vs a la carte. Otherwise everything was perfect

Yelp
First of all, how didn't I know about this place? This place is the cutest and did I mention, it has a farm? Not only is the place cute, but everyone is so welcoming, friendly and nice. Came here for lunch and ordered the chopped salad with grilled chicken. The salad was delicious. It had the most tender and nicely seasoned grilled chicken. The salad had a vinaigrette which was not overpowering and surprise, it had goat cheese. The creamiest most rich goat cheese. I also had the swamp tea, which I enjoyed and almost wanted to take home in a liter . Other people in my party had the chicken, meatloaf and it all was amazing!

Yelp
This morning in disparate need of coffee I ran across Bonton farm. This place was so cute! I ordered a 16oz iced caramel latte with oak milk and it was less than $6 so that was nice! Almost the customer service was great. I was fighting to wake up and everyone I passed had a smile and told me good morning. If in the area I would definitely go back.

Yelp
We went on Saturday to the brunch. We ordered the collard greens, macaroni and cheese, crab cake, and fried green tomato sandwich. The service was top notch, and kind with our accommodations. The food and experience was exceptional. We ate outdoors, and loved the ambience. The farm is right next to the food café. There is also a coffee shop and small grocery store comprised of product farmed at Bonton Farm. We enjoyed learning about the rich history of Bonton farm.

Yelp
I love the concept of this restaurant. Almost all products are grown at the location. After you eat you can go shop locally. This is a hidden gem.

Yelp
This was a lovely experience. I can't wait to come back. The restaurant, market, farm was so beautiful. Great and friendly service. I had a honey butter latte which was perfect. I ordered the breakfast skillet which was good my only complaint is my eggs were not cooked how I requested. The fried green tomatoes are the best I ever had. Biscuit and ham were so delicious. I definitely will be back.

Yelp
I was excited to visit this place. I ordered fried chicken with mac & cheese and green beans. I wasn't flavorful.. In their defense, however, my palate is used to the less heathy version of soul food. I'm using that phrase lightly. Definitely give them a try. It's a neat little spot, nice crowd. The lady sitting beside me said she there several times a week since she work nearby. Also, there's a store on the premises. You can buy fresh fruit and veggies. I'd definitely go again and try other things on the menu.
google avatar

Kenya R.

Yelp
This is definitely a hidden gem. Just about everything I had was delicious. I started with the chicken fried okra and black garlic aioli. It was crunchy but lacked flavor, and I wasn't a fan of the aioli. For my main, I got the fried catfish with hoppin John. They both had so much flavor. I was pleased. My friend got the Bonton fried chicken that came with green beans and mac and cheese. She said the chicken was really good. I tasted her green beans; they were good, but definitely could have used a little salt. I don't think they are big on doing substitutions. The service was great. They were attentive, but not smothering. It's a nice spot. Small on the inside, but there is a decent patio. It was too hot to tour the grounds, but I will be back. Oh yeah we washed everything down with the swamp tea(sweet tea, mango tea, and citrus tea)

Yelp
An amazing experience!!! I haven't seen the neighborhood for 20 years- it's beautiful!!! to see the positive change in the attitude, and the pride of this community is enough to restore my faith in humanity. What a brilliant idea, and so much hard work! It is absolutely inspiring! The friendliness of my barista, Tasha, ensures that I will be back again and again. Don't drink all of my honey butter lattes, leave some for me when I come back!!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a real Gem! The burger and fries where yummy! Fresh organic farm to table food!
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Ordered the skillet. When it came out the plate was full of grease at the bottom. Showed the server and her response was to get me a spoon to scoop it out, because it's fried. Really thick layer of grease. Not a light film or anything and it was kinda thick/coagulated. The potatoes in the skillet came out just warm, some of the potatoes were cold. The pork cuts were just slightly warm, even though they were over cooked. My initial impression of these is that they were not made today or reheated poorly. Had to spit out the pork. The pancakes were not fully cooked and battery, like rubbery batter on the inside, even though they looked pretty and fluffy. Had to spit out the pancakes. The restaurant is loud and needs to have something done with the acoustics. When there are 3/4 tables filled, it can be hard to hear people that are not directly in front of you.

Yelp
Finally stopped in to grab a quick lunch. This is such a dope concept! My father was a staple in this community for 40yrs on MLK!! However the atmosphere was pretty dry when we walked in. The host guided me to the counter for a young lady to assist whom just sat there staring at her phone. So I asked do you have a menu? She casually pointed to them on the other side of the register. The lady at counter also has a bad cough who also happens to be a server. The guy who was the host came to assist w my Togo order turns out he is rude & abrupt!! His name is Sergio, he took my order, brought my order out and left off part of the order which led me to this review. The place wasn't busy at all but due to a lack of appreciation for business & poor customer service I paid $39 for a kids meal w an extra side & an adult meal. The extra side was missing & I def will never return to this establishment! First impressions are forever!! It's sad these establishments come in to our communities and thrive off our money but yet still dnt take pride in how to treat customers :(

Yelp
Y'all growing up in Dallas, Bonton wasn't exactly the place you go to have a meal however if I tell you that I have a new hidden gem that I'm so glad I found. This gem is hidden at the end of the road and the ambiance of the restaurant is spectacular. You will find herbs growing and butterflies (and bees) buzzing because they are loving the fresh lavender growing in the garden as well. As I write this review I will be forthcoming and let it be known that this is not my first visit. Sadly on my first visit I was under the weather and not feeling well so I couldn't partake the way I wanted to but I still had the swamp tea (which I call swamp juice which is the BOMB!!!) and the biscuits and gravy with sausage. Now based on this alone, I knew I would be back. One this visit I'm ready to get down and once again I'm inquiring how can I get some swap juice to go? I ask the server and she tells me they sell it by the 1/2 gallon - pour it, I'm ready to take it home! Now before the server comes to our table, i stop a couple leaving and ask how was their meal? The wife says that she has the salad and it was wonderful, she shared a cup of soup with her husband which she recommended and he had the skillet which he enjoyed but it was too much so they were taking home with them. But then she says we also shared the honey butter ice cream which she said was devine. I must say I'm please as I have my sister visiting from out of town and she's still looking at the menu. So our waiter comes to the table to get our drink order and I ask for the swamp juice and he's like "I don't think there is anymore" and I'm like how? The lady laughs and says you got the rest of it and so I'm like well what else can I get? I go with an Arnold Palmer (1/2 lemonade 1/2 sweet tea) and if you are diabetic get you glass of water to dilute it cause although good, it's sweet. My sister is undecided between the chicken and waffles and the shrimp and grits, the server suggest the shrimp and grits and I get the fried tomato sandwich with fries. Now there is a small wait (but that means they are actually cooking in the kitchen) but it was well worth the wait. If I had a complaint it would be I asked for some Mayo for my fries and the server never brought it and the fries needed to be cooked a little longer for my liking but I still ate most of them. On the other hand, my sister enjoyed every bite of her food so much that as we were leaving and EVERYONE greeted us goodbye, she let them know that she will see them again before she leaves Sunday. Seriously, this place is great and if you haven't given this place a chance, please do.

Yelp
Walking into this establishment, i can feel the homeyness. Apparently brunch is only Saturday so keep that in mind! The fruits and veggies are sourced at the farm so it tasted extra fresh. I especially loved how the lettuce for my burger tasted. My brother claims that was the best pork chop he has ever had and he is a picky eater so I think that says something. Our server Ceci was super helpful and made us feel very welcomed. I will definitely be back for brunch!

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in South Dallas. The food is amazing and the service was just as good. If you haven't been, it's most definitely worth a try.

Yelp
Peaceful environment. Delicious fare. Friendly service. I will return. Fried tomatoes were excellent.

Yelp
This place was hidden but so glad I found it. Went for breakfast and food was so good. The place overall is very cute and small but definitely worth going. They don't have too many options but the options they do have are fantastic. Definitely recommend going for brunch. Everyone was nice and service was great.

Yelp
I'm so sad that this place is no longer the same. They're now trying to operate under a business model with a host and server, but they aren't doing a good job at running it as a restaurant. I'm guessing someone is getting greedy at this non-profit that's now trying to operate for profit. However, if you're going to operate like a business, then the standards need to be there. Host was nowhere to be found, so the cashier rudely told us to walk back and wait until he returned. Finally got seated and NO one took our order, until my husband went back inside and asked if someone could. Our host took our order. Five minutes later I decided I wanted to update my order, and could only find the cashier. She basically tells me I can only add something to my order and if I do, it'll take another 30 minutes for it to arrive. She literally rolled her eyes when I told her that's fine, I'll just add something to our order. We go to the market next door while waiting and lo and behold, NO eggs. In fact, the market is pretty barren in general. (What happened?) So we head back to our table only to see the order I added already waiting for us (well before the 30 min mark), but our original order is nowhere to be seen. At this point there is still no server to be found and I see two tables who got seated after us getting their food. At this point we were pretty upset and hangry. We told them we were leaving and that they could cancel our order. They really need to get it together if they're going to operate like a for profit restaurant. Otherwise they should go back to their original model of counter service which worked out MUCH better than their current model of hiring "servers" who have no restaurant experience. Unfortunately we won't be back. We really used to look forward to coming here a few times a year but this place is sadly no longer what it used to be.

Yelp
Mind is totally blown that this place exists tucked back in the corner of an older neighborhood. The small farm is right in the property so you can see where some of your food is coming from. There is a small market and a coffee shop as well. All the staff were pleasant and we had great conversations. The Buckeye trail is a small walk away so this would be a great place to stop after a hike.
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
Good friendly service. Food was great and kids love exploring the farm and gardens. If ever in the area again I would return.

Shirley H.

Yelp
The food is good but the prices and dishes are constantly being changed. I understand a restaurant may need to tweek their prices and menu but I still think it is done too often.
google avatar

Tionna B.

Yelp
The restaurant was very clean and cute. We elected to sit inside. Tables were clean and restaurant was well lit and great to have lunch meeting . During our visit there was a staff member birthday so the staff celebrated her in the warmest way. All of the staff was very attentive and I really like the way everyone helped out not just "our waiter" or drinks never went low and all needs attended to promptly. For a appetizer I had the chicken friend okra 8/10 it was very tasty will order again. Entree I had the fried chicken 8/10mashed potatoes 10/10, green beans 9/10 and a side of macncheese 7/10.

Yelp
This was my first time back since before Covid-19 and I continue to be impressed. Stopped by for a Wednesday lunch. I had the Wagyu beef cheeseburger, fries and iced tea. The burger was thick, juicy and delicious. My friend had the Fried Green Tomato sandwich with fries and iced tea which she loved - both for the taste but also for the memories it evoked. The fries were good but a bit greasy for my taste. For those sitting inside you can order and pay by phone. For those wanting to sit outside or who have questions about the menu you can order at the counter. Service was friendly, efficient and genial. Located in an underserved "food desert" Bon Ton Farm offers an invaluable service to the neighborhood. Not just fresh produce but a chance for people to learn the food service industry and earn a wage. Win. Win. Win.

Yelp
BONTON FARMS: my review 1. They have great farm to table options 2. A farm and farmers market that is gorgeous 3. Delicious lunch and brunch options 4. Coffee/ tea and merch shop; that's separate from the restaurant 5. I've volunteered on the actual farm site and it was so much fun! (We got to feed the goats and learn about gardening) What they need? 1. Fries (not chips) with the burgers 2. Cooler spots for musicians performing outside 3. A complete drink menu (when I asked about what teas they had the waitress didn't tell me (at first) and and it wasn't listed on their menu) 4. Printing an actually menu with everything listed especially if you have a waitress who doesn't know or withholds information. I sensed a slight attitude when I (a female) asked a question but then when the guy I was with asked, she gave an answer. 4. The option of lunch after 12:00 pm/ 1:00 pm 5. Not a huge deal but maybe a brunch mimosas/ and a wine / beer list (they do not serve alcohol here at all, to my knowledge) 6. Big fans for cooler outdoor seating

Yelp
Don't sleep on Bonton Farms, 10 minutes away from Downtown. I went on a Wednesday during lunch and loved the music, the people were having a good time everywhere from the workers, customers to kids in the garden to the chickens! The burger was okay, meat was a bit tough for me. Chicken sandwich was spicy and flavored. I personally do not care for the entrees but the cornbread was straight up made with love and if it came out of Uchi, I would not doubt it at all! Coffee was tasty and alternative milks were not expensive. Chickens and goats are friendly and the garden is cute.

Yelp
Quickly we were seated by the waitress after a few seconds. We looked over the menu and waited a while. Finally a young man from behind the counter came over to check on us. The waitress then came and began taking our order. My husband wanted French toast, which we saw on the menu online but upon arrival saw the menu was starkly different. The server said the menu was changed a week before so nothing online matched what we were there to try. Our son wanted a grilled cheesy and the server asked the kitchen and we were told they don't serve that either until after 11am. We were there at 9:30am. He settled for the biscuit... we tried the sandwich and the skillet. Both were very good. I asked about fountain drinks only to be told they were local as well... which is fine- just not for me. So I asked about coffee options and was told there was one- black... so I simply asked for cream to mix. The restaurant should consider a more extensive breakfast option menu for weekends versus weekdays. The should also consider a family option or kids options... the restaurant was neat and tidy, which is a plus. The place deserves more patronage but also needs better "special" options and more social media/commercial presence. PS- ordered an apple turnover to go and was mistakenly given pecan pie... it's caramelized corn syrup center is delicious!
