Bonu’ Taverna Italiana is a quaint Italian bistro with superb pizza, which includes fresh ingredients and a Gluten-Free tolerant crust without enriched flour that is a delight. The management is focused on an excellent dining experience. Well after being seated in the back area of the restaurant, the manager approached and offered to seat us in the main area, which was much appreciated. We declined the move but found the staff to be very thoughtful and attentive. To be sure, the pizzas are expensive but they’re unique and crafted for superb taste and presentation. Well done!

We were only in St. Petersburg for one night, but stumbling upon Bonù Taverna Italiana felt like discovering a local secret. From the moment we passed by, something about the warm glow, inviting atmosphere, and lively energy pulled us in—and we’re so glad it did. The food was absolutely delicious—elevated Italian classics made with clear attention to detail and fresh ingredients. Every dish we tried was full of flavor and beautifully presented. But what truly set the evening apart was the incredible service. A heartfelt thank you to our server, Çenk, who was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. And a special shoutout to Sam, the host, whose radiant energy lights up the whole place. Chatting with her was a highlight of the evening—she makes you feel like you’re not just a guest, but part of the Bonù family. The ambiance is intimate yet vibrant, perfect for a romantic dinner or a relaxed evening out. If you’re in St. Pete and looking for a memorable dining experience, don’t miss this place. Great service from Amberly. The wine list is tops. The flavor of the food is exceptional. Recommend: spritz & soup, white wine glass & salad, bottle of red and entrée.

Went here last night and had a great date night. We were seated right away without a reservation. Our waiter, Morgan, was nice and attentive. The food and drinks were 👌. We got the Tropea Pinsa, insanely good , great flavors. For entrees, the Fettuccine and Genovese, also so good. The Fettuccine needs that parm that's offered. It's the balance to it. The owner and staff were helpful and friendly. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Will definitely be back!

I had the pleasure of dining here for the first time tonight and chose to sit outside. Our waitress, Melanie, made the experience exceptional. She asked if it was our first time dining there and took the time to explain the entire menu in detail, offering great suggestions on what to order. The food was incredible—everything was so fresh. However, the highlight of the meal was definitely the tiramisu for dessert; it was simply the best. Melanie also recommended a fantastic wine that we ended up loving. We can't wait to come back and dine here again, thanks to Melanie for making our experience so wonderful.

From out of town, got recommended this place. It’s seems like a vibe. They say us all the way in the back of the house, nice, but it was extremely loud so we asked to sit in the front of the house. The hostess wasn’t happy about. She had on a blue shirt and a gentlemen that seemed part of the hostess team with red pants was also very unwelcoming for the beginning. We ended up sitting at the bar. The gentlemen was very nice, welcoming. Ordered an aperol spritz and it was to perfection. The burrata was very good. Small portion, but very good. We ordered a diavolina pizza and Pesto pasta, both very good. The Pesto was cooked well and had a rich taste. The Diavolina was good but not spicy at all. Not the taste I was expecting. Overall if you are in the Tampa area, for atmosphere, vibe and location, this is a good place. Service at the bar was amazing. Maybe the hostess team just wasn’t having a good day, I get it. It happens.

Bonu ' Tavera is on my top list of Italian restaurants! We came here for our anniversary and the food tasted so fresh! It's a heck yes from me! Presentation, taste and the vibes were all spot on!

Fantastic ambiance and location! Prosciutto and arugula appetizer along with Lobster ravioli and a finish of gelato/ espresso shot! Our specialist Amberly was attentive and congenial with us. Highly recommend this venue.

Bonu always delivers on flavor! We sat outside and had the chicken parm, it was a great portion size with delicious taste. The spaghetti noodles were fresh, the tomato sauce was sweet and savory, and the meat:breading ration on the chicken was top notch. The service was amazing, per usual, and the atmosphere was classy but relaxed. Another great experience at Bonu!

This is nice, cute place for an Italian dinner. This was my second time here, both times have been good. I do think that their portion sizes have decreased though, specifically the pasta. It is definitely on the pricier side and I don't think the portion sizes justify the price. Both times I've been here I've had great mocktails! I really appreciate them having some options for that. I opted for a few appetizers this time around, the calamari and truffle fries. Great portion sizes for both, I was very happy. Overall, this is a nice dinner spot if you are wanting some Italian. The service is great and they have options for indoor or outdoor seating.

Great Italian food with an atmosphere and lay out like many mom and pop Italian places of memory. Charming ambiance, amazing wine list, attentive helpful service, and unique takes on Italian cuisine without losing tradition in the wake. Truly great food. I tried the veal scallopini. I found it tender and flavorful with perfect seasoning. One of my party had the perfect lasagna and the other their seafood linguine. Both were perfection. We all had the meatballs polpette appetizer and an order of their cheese arancini. They were a perfect starter. Personally, I might add a spicy marinara to these to really put them over the top. Great place to try when in St Pete.

Would recommend coming here for definitely drinks and maybe snacks. Wouldn't come back for dinner. The vibes/atmosphere and service are great, as are the cocktails and some of the more simple menu items. The food is just not really at the standard it needs to be. Our appetizers were either not very good (octopus, arancini) or just ok (burrata) and the pastas are all really salty and really oily. Have come with multiple groups of people and the consensus every time is that it's a fun spot but the food just isn't up to par. Every time I've come here to eat, my stomach kills me after and multiple people in our party got food poisoning last time. Really wish the food was better since the service, drinks and vibes here are so amazing!

I was super impressed by this place! Butternut squash soup 5/5 This is heavenly. It's super creamy with a hint of sweetness and a little bit savory. I recommend getting the bread and dipping it into the soup. It had sage which gave it a nice touch. Would definitely get again. Arancini 5/5 It has peas. I love peas! The rice was really tender and soft. I was very happy that the rice was not crunchy. Mushroom Alfredo 4.5/5 This is very thick Alfredo sauce so I would highly recommend to share with someone. The pasta was nice and al dente. Unfortunately, the chicken was pretty dry. Chicken Parmesan 3/5 I'm not really sure, but I just did not like the marinara sauce. I thought it was salty, my friend thought it was sweet, and my other friend thought it was neither. A little bit confusing. Tiramisu 5/5 This was delicious. Just the perfect amount of sweetness. Not sickly sweet. I can't wait to come back here again. There's also outdoor seating which I'll probably do next time.

A great date night spot. The tiramisu martini was the perfect drink post dinner. You can't make a reservation for under 4 people but we got lucky with a seat inside for 2 on a busy Saturday night. Service was good but definitely expect it to be a little slower during the Saturday night rush! They were still very friendly!

This place was 10/10. The vibes - immaculate, the interior design is so calming. We loved our waitress, she was so sweet and accommodating to our rowdy birthday bunch. We indulged with Hugo and Aperol Spritz for the table. We loved the octopus appetizer! The arancini were also great. In addition, the pastas were all amazing. I also enjoyed the chicken Caesar salad. Chicken Parmesan was incredible! The tiramisu was the perfect end to the meal. Prices are on the higher end, but for what you get, I believe it was worth it!

Yeah, this works! Bonu' feels more like a neighborhood hangout than a destination. The food, drink, and service are solid, the atmosphere is comfortable and current.

Let me tell you about my long lost friend Kiara. What an experience to meet someone who worked in my home town and know mutual friends. Felt like home! Best Bar experience phenomenal service! Someone I cannot forget is: Yassin. He made sure we were happy with everything. He is such a love! Food! Damn. Outstanding and I forgot pictures. Sorry. Veal Scaloppini to die for. The Genovese was to absolutely off the charts. A++++ You truly won't be disappointed.

We went to dinner for my friends birthday and boy do they make you feel special! They seated us promptly at our table for 8 and served us Hugo Spritzes which were very tasty! There is a strong taste of Elderflower, which I like very much but if you don't want a strong taste of this let your server know. We got plenty of appetizers including the bread, octopus, arancini, and mushroom soup. The bread tasted so delightful with the mushroom soup!! For my entree I got the fettuccini with fried chicken on top. The pasta has a strong flavor of truffle mixed with mushrooms, which was phenomenal. For my friends birthday they brought out a free tiramisu! The restaurant overall was very comfortable, modern decorations and spacious seating. 10/10!

We were shopping on Central Ave and just stopped at Bonu for a drink and some apps. Wow! The apps were so amazing and full of flavor. We had other dinner place but plan to return for dinner very soon.

I've passed by Bonu more times than I can count but never had the chance to go in. A friend and I finally decided to stop in on a Friday night around 5 and we were seated straight away. The place definitely got busier by the time we left so that was a good sign it's a popular with locals. We first ordered some bites to share -- the grilled octopus, arancini, and a side of brussel sprouts. My friend also ordered the seafood linguini which we ultimately shared since it was a decent sized dish. All of it was so incredibly delicious! I was drinking Calafuria rosé which was honestly one of the best rosé's I've ever drank. Our waitress Breana was incredibly nice and made herself very available to us. We were even checked on by the GM which was great. I can't wait to go back here -- dishes we saw passing by looked so delicious which I'm dying to try in the future!

I was thinking what I'm in the mood for, and being back at this restaurant on a weekend was my choice. I was shocked that I loved the fettuccine, I barely enjoy homemade fettuccine let alone one from a restaurant but this one is different than all the rest and so so good. I think adding chicken/protein would be the right choice. I sampled the fish and it was also amazing. Also thoroughly surprised by their delicious mocktail. My dish was a featured dish, not one of their staples. It was a good burger, but I think their regular menu items were out of the park! Would love to sit outside next time during good weather. We were sat quickly and our server was on of St. Pete's finest.

The food was awesome and the restaurant is really pretty with a nice vibe. I really enjoyed the food and I will have to come back. The only downfall was they weren't serving any fish, pizza or chicken Parmesan when we came due to some issues they were having! However, the food was great and the server was super attentive and knowledgeable! Will be back to the treat of the food!

Really delicious Italian restaurant in the heart of St. Pete. The staff was really friendly, and I loved the vibe on the inside of the restaurant. It's definitely a little tighter of a space but they make it work. The food was delicious, and I recommend getting any of the homemade pastas

Great pasta & drinks spot in st Pete! The service was great. Loved the Hugo spirt. The ravioli with lobster & gnocchi was great and flavorful, however the portions just felt a little small for the price.

Such a cute spot downtown, and the food was great! I had the gnocchi and thought it was delicious. It's the perfect vibe for a girls night, or even a date night.

We have been waiting to try it here and we finally did, this past weekend. The waitress was pleasant and usually there when we needed her. Hostess very nice. The high top near the bar gave off a cool vibe and the window view was nice. The wait time on our dishes coming out were normal and no complaints there. The dishes we ordered were as follows meatball app, fresh baked bread, gnocchi, Arancini, pizza with mortadella, cocktails, and espresso to finish. The gnocchi were good no complaints, arancini not bad, the bread good and flavorful, my Negroni spot on, pizza lots of flavor, espresso couldn't ask for better. Now the meatballs hmmmm, so their were 3 I had my first meatball and thought wow tender and no odd tastes! Yay great! Because I love a good homemade tender meatball, so I asked my son wasn't that great and he looked at me with an odd look and said not bad I guess which puzzled me because I am a meatball junky. So I asked if he wanted to split the 2nd and he said no, ok then. I bit into the second meatball and thought with total confusion what happened, not tender, chewy, fast cooked or something (not the same meatball I just ate) and the nice slow cooked meatball was gone. Sad they are Inconsistent with the meatballs . But I thought everything else was great, no other complaints and I'm looking forward to going back in the near future for everything else. Food 8.5 Ambiance 9.0 Service 8.5.

Authentic Italian in a buzzy and insta-worthy spot, our entire group loved their meals. I appreciated the mocktail options, including a mocktail aperol spritz which is hard to find and so tasty! The burrata was phenomenal and the pesto pasta still has me dreaming weeks later. A great spot for a celebration or date night, service flavors and experience were all a knockout.

Our food was fantastic, flavors were great. Service was unfortunately very lacked. Our server forgot to put in one of our drink orders and my friend's dinner order. She also disappeared with our food to pack up to-go for about 10 minutes. Spent well over $100 on good food but the service did not deserve that.

Went on a double date night over the weekend and had an amazing time. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our waiter recommended the burrata, and olives as as appetizers to share. Drinks were very good and the pizza and pasta super flavorful. It's on the pricier side, but if you're looking for a nice dinner with your significant other, it's worth it since the food is so good.

**** 152 **** Stopped in at the end of their brunch hours. It was a little busy but was able to sit at the bar. The place is nice, with inside and out side seating. The service was ok, everyone was nice but the bartender seemed distracted. I ordered the Pulpo, it was recommended by the bartender. The Pulpo was delicious, but at $20 a plate, it seemed over priced. The rest of the menu seemed decent, and if you're looking for a nice little Italian place then this place is for you.

Went to dinner here with my best friend and the food was absolutely amazing! Loved the chicken Parmesan and fresh pasta. The wait was a bit extensive but it was during season on a weekend and at peak dinner times. However, the service was unmatched and given the wait they provided us private indoor seating to have a cocktail while we waited. I loved Bonu and will absolutely return.

Quick visit for Latte and desserts! The staff were welcoming and engaging at the bar. The coffees were well prepared and the peach sorbet and cannoli were scrumptious. The look of the place was equally nice and comfy. We enjoyed our visit on this rainy night. I will certainly return for dinner one day! Loved it!

This Italian eatery in DTSP was a delight to dine in. We had a reservation for my wife's birthday. Reserving a table was as simple as visiting their website and emailing them a request for a reservation. I was promptly emailed back a confirmation for the time/date. My wife and I each ordered a pasta dish (Fettuccine and the Genovese). The dishes tasted great. We ordered a mocktail and the Fico Negroni to drink. The Negroni was well-crafted and tasted delightful. We ordered burrata and the truffle fries. The burrata was not accompanied by bread. It was a whole half of a tomato and a ball of burrata. The presentation lacked style and was plain. The truffle fries were topped with truffle oil but was not served with truffle aioli, which was disappointing. The last critique for this Italian restaurant: 4 pieces of bread is $3.50. Untraditional for an Italian restaurant.

We've been here several times and a very important consideration we have is consistency. Bonu' has met and exceeded our expectations each time. Their service and ambiance are to be commended. Whether you dine inside in their beautiful space or outside on the sidewalk and people watch you'll have a very nice meal. They have a very nice menu and portions are generous. Salads and shareables are varied and guaranteed delicious. Some of our favorites have been the Gorgonzola salad, arugula salad, and house salad. The mushroom fettuccine, lasagna, meatballs, gnocchi, everything, you won't go wrong. (We know the price of everything has gone up but wish there wasn't a charge for bread, which is delicious and necessary for the table.) You won't go wrong visiting here. Delicious and delightful. Add Bonu' to your list of must visit restaurants in downtown St. Pete.

The atmosphere is cozy, making it a great spot for a casual night out or a special occasion. I highly recommend for anyone craving delicious Italian food! The queen and martini and the tiramisu martinis are delicious after dinner.

I came here for dinner I Got Lasagna, Veggie Pizza for The 2 Others, And lobster ravioli to try. Damn It was Good Lasagna was Better. My Waiter Was Awesome and kind of funny. For dessert I had 2 Hard options 1. Vanilla Gelato I had it before, Lemon Sorbet I never had. So i opted for The Sorbet If Ordering Get it

I ate here this past Saturday night around 8pm outside with 3 other people, we were sat right away. They had heaters going which was nice because it was chilly. Our waiter was fantastic he forgot my friend's ginger beer but when reminded he apologized and said it was on the house. We started with a pizza as an appetizer to share and it was the perfect amount of food. We all got dishes with pasta which were excellent followed by some of the desserts which were also tasty. At the end of the meal our waiter packaged our leftovers up for us. It was a very pleasant experience and I would eat here again.

Celebrating our son's 21'st in style at Bonú! Great atmosphere, great service just great all around! House Cabernet is excellent; meatball appetizers with "crostone" grilled bread. Ravioli (lobster) was amazing too much to list too good! Bravo Bonu-see you again soon.

This place definitely needs to be everyone's date night location because the food, vibes and ambiance was just so romantic and earth tones that even though the food tasted amazing it made it taste more delicious! My boyfriend and I decided to go here after hitting a few bars and could smell the pasta from a far. Being a pasta lover we had to go in! Everything was amazing the service and food were phenomenal! We ordered a truffle Alfredo pasta and prosciutto fig pizza that were mind blowing! We didn't even get to finish it because we were stuffed. Definitely a 10/10 experience

One of my favorite places downtown. It's located on Central, on a perfect corner for some of St. Pete's finest people watching. The food, drinks, wine selection and service are top notch. The pizza is awesome and very fresh. The veal scallopini is delicious. The artichoke appetizer... forget about it (just get it). There's typically a good crowd that adds to the great vibe, and a lot to look at, on the menu and off. It's a great place for date nights or dinner with friends.

Alfresco with the best mushroom pasta in a white wine cream sauce(pic attached). The waiters here are all very attractive, sorry, no pictures of them. lol Wine was excellent! I felt well taken care of here!

I love this place every time. The GF pasta is great & so is the charcuterie board. Sometimes it's nice to sit outside and people watch but inside is nice too. Nice staff & overall a great meal. Super cute for date night.

Salmon was yum yums but had to much orange juice. Bread yum yum eat it up. Pasta was approved. The pizza was yum yums in my tum tum. They took a while with the drinks.

Our drinks showed up 15 minutes after our appetizers, which themselves took over 30 minutes to arrive. The food was bland, overpriced, and forgettable. Then they quietly added a 20% gratuity to the check without saying a word. We tip generously when service is earned -- but this felt like a trap. Between the tight quarters, poor service, deceptive upselling, and subpar food, this place is an easy never again.

I have been wanting to stop here for a while and it's always too busy, but we got lucky today. Our service was prompt and polite from entry to seating. The burger was prepared as ordered and the fries were amazing. The lobster ravioli was extremely tasty with a red sauce. The restaurant is super cute with a rustic decor.

Love it here. Period. Came by looking for an AUTHENTIC Italian spot and lord knows I found it. Like, WOW. Phenomenal!!!! Forgot what it was called but my sever got me right and was so knowledgeable . I got this Mushroom pasta with a perfectly prepared salmon paired with a nice Sauvignon Blanc, I've literally have been dreaming this meal since. On top of it all the ambiance and the location.. Mwah *Italian chef' s kiss* Perfect.

We have been wanting to visit this place for a while now! It is so pretty on the outside, and on the inside. The food was so yummy, and I would recommend this place to anyone who wants some good Italian food. The gnocchi is my recommendation if you like cheesy/Alfredo sauce! Our service was great.

I usually don't leave two reviews at a restaurant, but I had such a wonderful time again here I decided to break my rule. I truly love this place and the way it makes me feel every time I come. I stopped at the Bonu' again tonight for my date, and we had a wonderful time! Antonio and Luka, the two owners, greeted us immediately. Even though they had to wait, we put our name and number in, and we were called back within 15 minutes. Our server, Cristian, who is also from Italy, was super personable and funny. We split the octopus and the watermelon appetizer, and I got the ravioli to change it up for my main course. I ended the meal with a cannoli and had my first alcoholic drink in a month, which was a martini espresso. Owners: 9.9 Service: 9.7 Octopus: 9.6 Watermelon: 9.7 Ravioli: 9.3 Cannoli: 9.9 Scale system 10/10 would be what I want for my last meal 9.9-9.3 driving out of my way to get this 9.2-8.0 like the place and would go back 7.9-7.0 I would come here again if it were presented and don't have anything bad to say 6.9 and below - thanks but no thanks after trying once
