I didn't think there would be competition for my favorite burger from Au Cheval, but ding ding ding ding, we have a contender!
This location is small, but turns over tables rather quickly. It's only a block or two away from Wrigley so if you're looking for a quick bite (and a good one I might add), you can't go wrong with whatever you order on the menu.
Staff are very friendly, and wait time for your order isn't bad at all. I ordered the kimchi burger and kimchi fries. Holy moly, I was not prepared for the awesomeness of this burger. Fried egg with runny yolk, bacon, kimchi, and a nice, greasy patty with lots of meaty flavor on a brioche bun all combined for what would become one of my favorite burgers.
I've never been much of a fan of fusion, but this merger of American and Korean cuisine hit the spot right on the money. Burger was $8, which was very reasonable, and the fries were $6.50. The fries were a meal in itself, and a worthy side to add to your order. Cheese, bacon, kimchi, and green onions never tasted so good on top of seasoned fries fried perfectly giving the fries a nice crisp but retaining that soft potato texture within.
If you haven't already figured out, I'm a fan. bopNgrill, you got me. I wasn't expecting it, and you woke me up from my haggard daze on this cold 40/50 F day in May. Hot tamale, you stole a piece of my heart! I'll be back to try your rice dishes, but it'll be hard to resist your delicious, juicy burgers.
