Bordo: Fine Italian Goods is the kind of place that ruins you—in the best way—for all other sandwich shops.
From the moment you walk in, you know you’ve stumbled onto something special. The sandwiches are absolutely next level—perfectly crusty bread hugging layers of house-cured meats, creamy spreads, and vibrant, thoughtfully sourced produce. Every bite is a love letter to Italy, with just enough West Texas grit to give it soul.
The salads? Not an afterthought. Crisp, herb-packed, and dressed with just the right amount of tang, they somehow make you feel both virtuous and indulgent. And don’t sleep on the drinks—whether it’s a cold-brew spritz or a sparkling Italian soda, they round out the meal with a burst of flavor that’s as refreshing as the vibe.
Speaking of which: the vibe. Bordo nails the “laid-back but curated” atmosphere. It’s warm, inviting, and stylish without trying too hard—kind of like your coolest friend who also happens to make the best pasta from scratch.
Service is another highlight. Friendly, fast, and knowledgeable staff who clearly care about what they’re serving and want you to love it as much as they do.
Austin, are you listening? We NEED a Bordo. This place would absolutely thrive in Austin’s food scene. Until then, I’ll be making the drive to Marfa a whole lot more often.
