"Founded in 1935, this storefront looks every year of its age. It dispenses fettuccine in a variety of widths, and stuffed pastas like ravioli in a number of shapes and sizes, with fillings that run to porcini, pumpkin, ricotta, and spinach. Consider trying the lobster ravioli." - Robert Sietsema, Missy Frederick

Borgattis in the Bronx is entirely worth being brave and waiting out the cold with long lines to get fresh pasta and ravioli. Highly recommend getting fresh spaghetti, cheese raviolis, and cavatelli. They also have gluten free dried pasta and imported pasta from Italy. If you’re a pasta lover, Borgattis is not to be missed! 100% bucket list place for any and all occasions.

Hope you enjoy this story. I got to know the Borgatti family due to a commercial that some of you may have already seen on Facebook. They used my voice for their limerick. You can see the video and pictures here. While I live in Florida they shipped me down a couple boxes and my wife just made our first serving. Her Cuban flair added some garlic, red pepper and we topped it off with some delicious marinara sauce. I grew up in Delaware with a mother who was surrounded in her youth by Italians in West Virginia and could make some incredible spaghetti and meatballs. However, I've never had ravioli this good! If you get ever get up to New York City area, making an effort to go visit Borgatti's ravioli and egg noodles in the Bronx. Tell them Hank sent you.

Google
We drive 2 1/2 hours to get to the best pasta store in the world!! Today we bought all their specialties for our Christmas feasts: ravioli, lasagna sheets, linguine, fettuccine. Once you taste their fresh pasta you will never want to eat packaged boxes again. Their noodles are so light and delicious and pair well with any type of sauce. We buy extra to freeze to last a little longer until we come again at Easter. The staff are so nice and accommodating. If you love pasta you have to go to Borgstti’s! 🇮🇹❤️

An experience with such great fresh pasta. Always worth the trip

We are not fans of pasta or ravioli, but when we saw the crowd by the entrance of Borgatti’s Ravioli & Egg Noodles, we were so curious how great their ravioli and decided to give it a try. The line moved really fast since the staff served everything with smooth process so the wait was not bad. There is not only ravioli & egg noodles available but also other items you might need for cooking past a like Italian marinara sauce, spice and cheese...etc. We had a box of signature Ravioli ($14 for 27) and ready-to-bake Manicotti ($6). Both were super delicious even with our poor cooking experience of Italian dishes. The filling was enormously cheesy & satisfying and the dough was chewy with proper thickness. It's definitely one of the best ravioli & manicotti we have ever had in life.

Delicious fresh pasta and kind staff, highly recommend 🇮🇹

Google
Best pasta, friendly people, extremely accommodating (had an issue where I wasn't going to be home for the delivery and they made some quick accomodations so my ravioli wouldn't go bad!)

Google
Fresh, handmade pasta and ravioli with reasonable prices! The owner is very keen on explaining all his processes, from the formation of the dough to the air-drying of the noodles. You can see the metal rack overhead where all the freshly sliced noodles are left to dry and the machines where the dough is pressed flat and cut into varying widths in the back. I got the large spinach and ricotta ravioli (not frozen), 27 for $14. The box has three layers of pasta separated by wax paper and dusted with corn meal to keep it from sticking. Each raviolo is soft and plump, and filled with a homogeneous mixture of ricotta, Parmesan, and spinach. To cook it, just boil it for 12-14 minutes. They also have unique flavors like basil pasta, tomato and carrot, and squid ink! If you need sauce, they sell a few select varieties in the back -- I bought a jar for $3.80 to eat with my ravioli. (Tip: a pack of 27 large ravioli will feed a family of 4 unless you have no self-control like me and end up eating half the package on your own because it's so delicious. Oops!)

Yelp
Just really beautiful pastas and have both frozen and freshly made ones. It's worth the trek if you're not close.

Clarissa C.

Yelp
One of my newfound obsessions since coming to NYC for a month. This is an all take-home-and-cook pasta shop. Of course, the standout are the raviolis. A box of ~$20 for 27 large ass, nicely packaged frozen porcini mushroom raviolis. They come in sheets of 9 that easily break apart to individual raviolis while frozen. I literally can only eat 6-7 in a meal, and they are super easy to make as a lazy meal. Keep in freezer up to 3mo, and you just put it into salted boiling water for 10-12min (no defrost needed). Then add your sauce and toppings of your choice. I love them so much, I ordered 3 boxes online to deliver back home to Cali--they deliver for about $30 or so a box for the holidays, Fedex 2-day. Sweet jesus we are eating good on Xmas day!

Yelp
Does this place really need another 5 star review? Yes it does, I say! I grew up in the Bronx going to Arthur Avenue with my family and Borgatti's was always one of the must hit spots (plus a cannoli!) I'm thrilled to see the place hasn't changed in the (alarmingly) decades since I started visiting! It's a trek for me now that I live in Brooklyn, but I try and make my way there at least once a year to stock my freezer. They have a great selection of fresh pasta and ravioli, dried pasta, and other Italian goodies. The selection is impressive for a pretty compact store! The workers are always friendly and super quick. Even when there's a line, they have you in and out quickly. This last trip (a month or two ago) I picked up some large mushroom ravioli, the small cheese ravioli and some dried egg noodles. I've made both of the ravioli already and they both came out incredible. Even from frozen, they come out perfectly and it's great to be able to make a beautiful, delicious pasta dinner on the fly whenever I want. A Bronx, and NYC institution for a reason!

D T.

Yelp
Best ravioli I have ever had. Sorry about the glare. Both small and large cheese ravioli are $18.50 a box. Well worth it.

Christina V.

Yelp
The cheese in the manicotti is delicious as are the raviolis. I've bought the spinach and cheese and mushroom and cheese. You can actually taste the sweetness of the milk in the cheese. Love that borgatti's is still going strong.

J D.

Yelp
Outstanding raviolis! The beef/spinach is sirloin and everything is super fresh. If you're in the area, stop by and stock up. Arthur aves fines!

Jill W.

Yelp
The best homemade ravioli I have ever gotten for such a good price. I think I got 9 large pieces for around $6. I didn't do much research before coming but saw after that Borgatti's had 5 stars on Yelp. I would definitely hands down come back -- the cheese was excellent and the pasta was insanely fresh. Better then any restaurant I've had in the city.

Lola B.

Yelp
Can't get any better than borgattis ! We get the ricotta ravioli, all the time , the lasagna sheets , and sometimes spaghetti alla gitarra! Amazing place . Highly recommmend, best in New York!

Yelp
Worth the hour wait on line on December 23rd! The best ravioli outside of Italy! Welcoming, kind and efficient service - all with a smile and a 'Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!'

Abbey R.

Yelp
If you haven't visited and you love pasta take the trip to Arthur ave. They cut the pasta in front of you the pasta is fresh! The prices are amazing. I specifically got ravioli And spaghetti n fettuccine cuts and it was amazing. I also got a sauce to make vodka sauce n it was so darn delicious . The raviolis were the best in definitely gonna shop here for pasta groceries. There was a line but it moved quickly this place is very popular the wait is worth it if you don't want to eat box pasta.

Tracy K.

Yelp
Borgatti's is a nice homemade pasta shop right in the heart of the Bronx just off Arthur Avenue. They are famous locally for their homemade noodles and Ravioli. The Ravioli are large and square. More like the softer round, but a square shape. Delicious with a nice marinara and some Pinot Noir or other nice red wine. All around worth stopping off if anywhere near Arthur Avenue. Will try more things items next time.

Anna G.

Yelp
Very fresh handmade pasta and raviolis to take home. I like to pick up a pack of 100 mini ricotta raviolis for about $20. Fresh, simple, flavorful.

Jackie O.

Yelp
W O W Z A ! ! ! ! These raviolis are absolutely delicious and so fresh! The couple who owns the place are so sweet and helpful. I ordered the meat and spinach ravioli and I wish I got them or my family for Christmas dinner. I can't wait to return!

james m.

Yelp
Excellent Ravioli's and worth ordering. The pasta and the ravioli's are A+ and excellent. Their Lobster Ravioli's are just fair. Not worth ordering but the cheese are outstanding

Leo D.

Yelp
I got one, only one Christmas present this year from my dear friend Joey D. It was more than I could ever ask for! If your looking for gf or require gf diet Borgatti's in the Bronx is your place. The variety and quality is superior. If you are ever are in the Bronx area or need some really good gf options, a must!

Anne R.

Yelp
Borgatti's is the best of the best when it comes to homemade noodles. They have every flavor under the sun from mushroom to tomato to carrot to spinach and back again and they taste so fresh. An 8 oz bag is $6.00 and so worth it. Noodles cook up in six to 8 minutes and they make for a great quick dinner. I like to put on an olive oil, parsley, garlic, butter and mushroom sauce on the Borgatti's mushroom egg noodles (as shown in my picture). Used for the recipe were both white and Baby Bella mushrooms. You can get both the Borgatti's egg noodles and ravioli on their site and they send them out fast! I also love their gift baskets as holiday gifts. This place is considered a legend for a good reason!

Frank T.

Yelp
Arthur Ave, I love you, and miss you, but alas, now Borgatti's (and Cereni) delivers via eCommerce. I will miss the market, Calabria's extra hot, Joes mozz, and Dominics, but I have *most* of what I need in life without crossing the Throgs Neck Bridge since moving to Long Island. Ordered 8-Large boxes, came packed perfectly in a day and a half, also with Cavatelle - and they came in a fancy packaged brown bag. While on the web site, I couldn't resist the t-shirts, which I purchased and wore to Eataly while I mocked their overpriced and overcrowded space. I will miss the comradery, but not the tolls and parking, and thank you Borgatti's for joining the century. I bet your eComm biz will exceed in-store retail revenues before 2021.

Leah S.

Yelp
Borgatti's did not disappoint from a cool in-store experience watching pasta be made behind the counter, to the table at home where the cavatelli and fresh egg noodle linguini were delicious. We learned all fresh pastas should be frozen within two days if not being used right away. We purchased raviolis to freeze and look forward to preparing as well. Cash only. A must stop while visiting to take some of Arthur Avenue home!

Shu Jin S.

Yelp
So I just finished my dinner of the #2 pasta from Borgatti's -- the number indicates how thin / thick you want your pasta to be, there are little boards that show you the width near the shields -- and a bottle of the Silvio's Sunday sauce and WHAT AN INCREDIBLE DINNER. The homemade pasta, that everyone is talking about, is made by the hands of angels. You must not, I repeat, must not visit this neighborhood without stopping by here and purchasing at least 1lb of pasta and a jar of sauce. While I normally make my own pasta sauce, I was feeling lazy (I cook enough during the week already) and asked a staff member what sauce to buy. He pointed to the Silvio's Sunday sauce and said it was their most popular. ...and I can see why. It saddens me that I am nowhere close to this store. But I will definitely be making the trek here in the future. And grab a box of the ravioli's next time around.

Liz W.

Yelp
Fresh ravioli- delicious- made some fresh sauce and was heavenly. Staff was very helpful

Michelle C.

Yelp
I decided to embark on the trek from Brooklyn to the Bronx when I saw Borgatti's featured on Tasty. It was no Incan Trail but it did take ~1.5 hours. From Fordham Rd station (B/D) it's a short walk to Arthur Ave, where the smell of tomatoes permeates the air. The shop is small, but it's mainly because Borgatti's focuses on what they know best-- pasta. There are shelves of tomato sauce and olive oils for your perfect one-stop shop. The staff at the counter service were extremely patient and helpful, suggesting various recipes I could try with my new purchases. Their ravioli is "fresh, never frozen" and they offer to cut your pasta sheets into six different widths. The prices are very reasonable, and while one might argue that the same, if not elevated, experience could be had at Eataly, what Borgatti's lacks in elegance and variety, it makes up for it with warmth and down-to-earth attitude in spades.

Michelle L.

Yelp
Borgatti's Ravioli & Egg Noodles is a dream! Pasta is my favorite thing. They have a chart that shows you choices by number of how wide you want your noodles. They charge $2.xx per pound for them. When we ate them a day or two later they were really fresh and delicious. Nice and chewy. Loved the egg flavor. It makes for a richer noodle. They sell a few other pre-made items (mostly sauces for the noodles) in the store. The owner has a lot of personality! The noodles are so good that you can serve them with a plain butter sauce so that you can appreciate the high quality noodle. Of course I'll be back!

Tommy Y.

Yelp
Fresh pasta that melts in your mouth nice and light this place is nice and clean the staff is very warm welcome made me feel very comfortable buying food there. I will be back again and they told me that they also ship all over good to know

Sadia H.

Yelp
Quaint little family owned pasta shop, been around over 80 years. Fresh pasta vs store bought is a hugely different experience. The fresh pasta is chewy and gummy while the store bought is... Well you already know. There's a bunch of different types of pasta to choose from and service here is friendly and fast. They also have jars of sauces, olive oil and other Italian basics. If you're gonna give fresh pasta a go try it out here. I tried the spaghetti, ravioli with spinach and cheese and the manicotti. Yummmmm... Happy Yelping!

Jeff G.

Yelp
Wow is this place amazing. When a place is delicious, reasonable and authentic there isn't much you can complain about. I can't believe I can walk out with authentic homemade pasta and barely spend $3. We are addicted to their spaghettis. Sized 1 (angel hair) - 6 (pappardelle). You pick your size they roll the pasta and cut it for you. Amazing!!! Their ravioli is fantastic as well.

Tom F.

Yelp
The Ravioli is just absolutely delicious! So fresh as well as the lasagna. My favorite homemade pasta!

Alex T.

Yelp
Ok so friends of ours have been talking about this place for a while. Finally took the trip up to nyc for an overnight. Stopped at Borgatti's this morning to load up on pasta before the long ride home. Got home and decided to try the ravioli. Tried both the ricotta and also the spinach and cheese. OMG..... these are easily the best ravioli I've ever had. Kept going back and forth on which one was better. After exhausting evaluation a tie was finally declared. They were both amazing!!! You will not be disappointed

Patricia S.

Yelp
Delicious fresh ravioli. Bring cash or pay 3.5% credit card surcharge. We'll be back.

Sandra S.

Yelp
I agree that this place has one of the best and freshest ravioli in NYC. I ordered 1 large box of ricotta ravioli & 1 squid ink pasta. Both were super delicious, but the ravioli was the star! Also bought a jar of Rao's tomato sauce to put on the ravioli - YUM! Long line, but it is worth the wait!

Bob S.

Yelp
A Little Italy classic. I've been going here for years for fresh pasta stuffed shells and prepared manicotti for over 40 years. They have every variety and a chart to pick out the width you want. There are also specialty pastas such as squid ink. They carry prepared sauces and some specialty items on the shelves to the right of the counter. On the weekends this place has a line out the door. The prices haven't gone up that much in all the years I've gone there. If you've ever made your own manicotti, ravioli, or stuffed shells, once you try theirs you'll wonder why you went through all the mixing, mess, and time doing it at home.

Joe F.

Yelp
Accept no substitutes. Wonderful fresh pastas of every size kind and denomination...cheese, basil...ravioli of every kind. Old school great, buy some extra and maybe freeze it.

Daniel A.

Yelp
We had Borgatti's of the Bronx Ravioli, can you believe they sell 100 of their small (normal size everywhere else) for $15!? They are excellent and freeze well so you can stock up. I served it simple with just butter and parmigiano, and used the Balthazar bread for Scarpetta.

Jackie C.

Yelp
I live out of state, and was having trouble finding my disabled and immunocompromised father and aunt shelf-stable foods for long term self-quarantine when the shelter-in-places began taking effect. The Borgatti's heard about my struggle through a mutual friend, and without being asked or expecting payment in return, sent my family a box of their delicious pastas. I was completely overwhelmed by this family/company's generosity and act of selflessness towards another family across the country that they do not know, and will likely never meet. I hope everyone continues to support this amazing company the way that they supported my family, throughout the pandemic and beyond! My Italian family LOVED the pasta, it truly brought them some much-needed joy and comfort in these uncertain times. Thank you, Borgatti's!! We love you!

Joe K.

Yelp
You will never eat another ravioli after coming to Borgatti's! They are amazing. Fresh cut spaghetti. All different types. Get the spinach. My family loves it. We get these every other month coming from Jersey!

Gerry M.

Yelp
GOOD NEWS VS. BAD NEWS - Absolutely the best raviolis! But $30 per box to buy online(with a minimum of 2 boxes) = $60.00 + shipping. Originally they were $18 per box + shipping and that was not terrible. But now $30 per box? Too much money - even great has a price ceiling. There are other local Italian stores that have raviolis that are comparable.... Sorry you lost a customer that really thinks you have a great product. Lotsa luck.

Jamel O.

Yelp
I once got my Italian neighbor some ravioli from Borgatti's and despite his wife throwing me shade upon acceptance with the words "I usually make my own" and a frown. I was told it was the best he ever had. I was told this outside of the presence of his wife. You can get 100 small ravioli or about 27 big ones in a box. Actually, you can get what you want. This place is good.

Sheila R.

Yelp
Neighborhood gem in the Bronx, it is family owned and operated. Definitely worth the trip to stop in. Shop is small and cash only. You can get fresh cut pasta in 6 sizes, including my favorite, spinach. We also love their cheese ravioli and are trying their cheese and spinach version. Prices are affordable. Pasta freezes well. Stock up!!! We love this place!

Zeynep E.

Yelp
If you're Italian, you know this is the place. If you're not Italian, you still know this is the place. Call me crazy, ate the ricotta ravioli three days in a row and intend on having it tomorrow as well. Best fresh pasta in town, skip any frozen and/or supermarket brand ravioli for Borgatti's and you'll never look back. Texture, taste, presentation (ravioli sheets are separated by wax paper so they don't stick to one another in the box), everything is there and the highlight for me is they don't exude the weird dough smell that many of them have after boiling.

Sal E.

Yelp
Best homemade ravioli in the country at this multi generational place in lower New York. Service is outstanding. They also ship all across the U.S. The owners Christopher and his wife make you feel as if you are family at home in their store!

Brian A.

Yelp
Worry driving in from New Haven to get the freshest ravioli on the east coast. Creamy, tender and delicious. The cavatelli is tasty as well. They only take cash so be prepared.

Veronica H.

Yelp
Not only do they have the best fresh pasta and interesting home-made dried ones, such as spinach, mushroom and squid ink, they are really nice people. I go there at least once a month and asked about when the whole wheat was made and they were kind enough to call me and hold two pounds from going on the drying rack. The excellent home-made, traditional foods and down to earth, friendly people is why I shop so often on Arthur Ave.

Mike C.

Yelp
Borgattis is a place I would visit every week if I lived close by. The owner Chris is really nice and the pasta is delicious. It's not expensive and they have a variety of pasta so you can find whatever specific cut or kind you are looking for. When I'm heading upstate to see my inlaws this is a must stop in order to create a fantastic meal. If you are unsure of what to get ask the staff. They are extremely helpful and will direct you. I always get 1/2 - 1lb of fresh pasta because I learned you can freeze it if need be. I also get ravioli because even though it's frozen not fresh it's some of the best I've had.

Irene E.

Yelp
According to the locals of Belmont, this is the shop you go to when you need pasta. The facade would have fooled me for its modern feel. But inside, is the old fashioned.

Amy M.

Yelp
Went to pick up some more fresh pasta and its the best period! We came on a Sunday so they only had fresh spinach and plain pasta which we got some of each. We got dry squid ink and basil and can't wait to eat them. While waiting for Chris to cut the pasta I noticed they had porcini mushroom raviolis so I brought a box. Chris heard we were planning on making more stops so he went a head and packed the raviolis in wax paper and aluminium foil to insulate it. Not only this place have great pasta, they also provide great service.

Jerry L.

Yelp
I've always loved when restaurants have fresh homemade pasta so I was excited when talking to one of my patients who lives in the Bronx and told me she knows where I could go to get fresh pasta. She mentioned this place and I immediately bookmarked it. Finally we got the chance to come here and I was excited and ended up leaving with way more than I expected, one thing to note is that this place is cash only so be warned, as far as pasta we ordered 100 fresh ravioli half meat and half cheese, I don't remember the price but very reasonable, also got 1 pound of egg noodles that could be cut in various sizes but we chose linguine size, the price was a little more than a box from the supermarket but of course it was fresh, I asked and was told they also had another kind of pasta but that's all we want with, we also got some pasta sauce here, what I loved about this place is everyone was so helpful in telling us how long to cook the pasta for, if we could freeze them, etc, we froze them and boil them in a few minutes when we're ready to have them, also they gave us a recipe sheet to make our own sauce, really whah I liked is how nice they were, of course the pasta is delicious! I'll be back for sure I love this place and I will definitely be back

Lavant G.

Yelp
Borgatti's Ravioli & Egg Noodles you are absolutely awesome, I had an incredible experience here yesterday. The menu items were flavorful and delicious and the price point was also very good. Most everything I've tried so far have been really good. The team is very helpful. I really appreciated that. I would definitely come back to Borgatti's Ravioli & Egg Noodles.

Nicola S.

Yelp
My father used to take me to this shop every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. I have such fond memories of buying their ravioli and enjoying it with my family. I stopped by yesterday and the shop is exactly how I remembered it, and the pasta was just as delicious. Thank you Borgatti's for being one of the many reasons why New York is so special.

Liz J.

Yelp
Recommended to us for fresh ravioli. I have never experienced such phenomenal texture and flavor...the pasta was soft and firm, flavorful. The filling - and I strongly urge everyone to journey to this pasta Mecca for the ricotta and spinach filling. Yum. Kudos to the pro staff who were so wonderfully pleasant and helpful even though it was Palm Sunday rush time for the shop!! Fabulous! Will go back! We brought a smaller cooler to carry out purchases so they would stay fresh until we arrived home!
