"“This is the Thai that I order in, although now I think I have to go there because historically, I was ordering in. I didn't even know where the actual location was. And then I was working with some friends and I said, ‘Oh, let's go get Thai.’ But because there was a crowd of us, I said, ‘Well, why don't we just go to the place?’ And we went and sat down to eat and I was like, ‘Oh my God, this food is better when you eat it fresh,’ obviously. Best pad thai I've had in Brooklyn thus far. Their curry is also really, really, really good. Last time I got the panang curry, but the green curry is crazy. It’s really cute, small, a nice environment, friendly staff. Easy food. It's good." - brennan carley

Google
I stumbled upon this place after a pretty disappointing experience with a Thai place nearby and let me tell you saving grace doesn’t even begin to cover it! Not only did they have mango sticky rice late into the season, but a full bar and delicious food. The place is small but set up in such a cute and cozy way. Grace was the bartender/server for me and she was just wonderful. I had such a great time I will definitely be back for more!

Decided to try this before a concert, it was very close to Barclays. The duck wrap appetizer was a 2/5 one little small piece with extra lettuce definitely not enough duck. The pineapple chicken fried rice was just okay it needs a little more heat or flavor. The drinks were a 5/5, lychee martini was great. It was pricey.

I had an amazing dining experience at Born Restaurant! The ambiance was cozy and inviting, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Papaya Salad and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The portion sizes were generous and the presentation was beautiful. I also appreciated the wide selection of wines available to complement my meal. Overall, I highly recommend Born Restaurant for a wonderful dining experience.

We’ve come twice already and each time was amazing. I think we’ve tried most of the menu and you cannot go wrong with anything! The waitress Anna recommended Mango sticky rice to finish the meal and it was amazing and reasonable price as well!

Google
Great local spot with a nice intimate ambience. Wait staff is friendly and food comes out pretty quickly. Tried the born buns, curry puffs and the pad kee mao (medium spice) which were all delicious. An fyi- gratuity is included in the bill.

Google
First time in Brooklyn and first time experiencing Born and I must say everything upon entering with a large group, which they accommodated to the checkout was absolutely incredible. The hostess was very welcoming to our group. I had the Udon basil noodles with chicken which were fantastic! A must try! This is a place in Brooklyn that you need to go to, I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Google
This Thai place looked a little empty at first, and I was hesitant to try it, but it turned out to be a damn good choice! The soup was one of the best I've ever had. While the fried rice was a bit disappointing, it was more than compensated by the amazing pad kee mao. Definitely worth a visit!

Anna was our server and was incredibly attentive! The food was incredible! I have zero complaints and would 100% recommend trying the Salmon Chilli avocado! The drinks were great, the food was fantastic, the service was impeccable… perfect experience!

Yelp
We were in the neighborhood since we were going to catch a show at Barclays. Looking for places to eat this came up & glad we gave it a try, drinks Thai iced tea , was very good. Appetizers we tried the Curry puff, light crispy, nice dipping sauce they were very tasty, love me a good curry puff. Main dishes we tried, Garlic chicken & See-ew noodles w beef, both were very good dishes, nice flavor to meats, good noodles & beef very good. Also tried the Basil Fried rice & the Ginger sauce w meat, both very good. Small location, dimly lit , service was good & prices were not bad, this was a nice find for a good dinner option before a show.

Yelp
@foodie_starry OMG so many Thai food in Brooklyn! Definitely worth an adventure! Dive into the exotic world of Khao Soi with choices of duck or soft-shell crab, nestled in a rich Northern Thai coconut curry with egg noodles--a true taste sensation! Experience the Jumbo Shrimp Pad Thai, where sweet tamarind sauce meets thin noodles, eggs, crushed peanuts, and scallions, creating a delightfully non-greasy dish that's hard to put down. Don't miss the Tamarind Duck, a tender half duck roasted to perfection, served with sweet tamarind sauce, steamed veggies, and jasmine rice. It's a dish that truly captures the essence of Thai cuisine. For something unique, try the Salmon Chili Avocado. This dish combines grilled salmon with Thai-style curry stewed veggies, avocado, and a spicy green sauce, available with white or brown jasmine rice. Sweeten your meal with the classic Thai dessert, Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango, or indulge in a twist with the Fried Ice Cream, featuring a crispy outer shell and creamy vanilla inside. Head over to Born for a culinary journey that's as vibrant and bustling as Brooklyn itself!

Yelp
Just had one of the most flavorful meals in NYC! located in Brooklyn NY truly brings the taste of Thailand to life. Celebrated our anniversary here and it felt like a culinary journey. With its authentic decor and festive drinks, this spot offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. You have to try it! The papaya salad was an explosion of freshness and spice, a perfect starter. The Khao Soi, a Northern-style Thai coconut curry with egg noodles was rich and deeply satisfying. But the highlight was the Born Fish--a crispy whole Red Snapper served with a homemade spicy sweet chili sauce. Each bite was heaven!

Yelp
We had a delicious time here. Went to the Barclays Center for a concert but we decided to have dinner and drinks here before the show. The drinks were delicious. The food was very tasty and had good portion size. Everything tasted freshly made. We also didn't have to wait too long for our food. Servers were kind. I will definitely come her again when I'm the area. A must t try for Thai food in the downtown Brooklyn area. We ordered various drinks from the menu. For appetizers we had chicken curry puffs, wings, and shrimp roll. For our entrees we had crab fried rice and Thai fried rice with shrimp. The shrimp were jumbo and the crab meat was real large pieces of lump crab. This restaurant uses quality ingredients and is not stingy with the portions. The venue is small so if you're considering going with a large group I would recommend calling ahead or making a reservation.

Yelp
Ive passed this restaurant many times over the years and sadly never really noticed it but now that Ive finally tried it, i'm sad that I missed out for so long. Let me start by saying that the place has a cute and cozy vibe but it is very very small so I would suggest going at a less busier time to avoid long waits. The basil fried rice was very delicious and I was happy that they were able to make alterations due to my seafood allergy, this is something that many other Thai restaurant are unable to do. The star of the show however was the curry puffs, probably legit the best Ive ever had. The drinks are also pretty tasty, not very strong but I don't like my drinks too strong. The only issue I had with the service was how long it took our food to come out. Like seriously a 30 minute wait. It was a good thing we had such a fun time but my stomach was growling. Other then that great little spot.

Justin T.

Yelp
The food and service were both just mediocre. To make matters worse, the server charged us for a drink we didn't order--twice. On top of that, 20z% gratuity was added for two people, even though we were a party of one. Honestly, this experience was disappointing, and we won't be returning. We should of known, when the place was empty once we walked in on a Friday night

Yanina L.

Yelp
Lovely lunch at this wonderful little Thai restaurant in Brooklyn . Delicious menu choices , tasty cocktails and friendly service.

Yelp
Met My Family there for an early dinner and was happy as usual. Happy hour with 1 entree and appetizer 2 Brooklyn Mule awesome, thank you. One star for the Pad See Eww, needed a lil more sauce and less of the (raw Chinese broccoli stem.

Kim D.

Yelp
My favorite place Brooklyn spot for Pad Thai. I stopped in here.. again lol. This time on a Sunday afternoon as I was in the neighborhood and in the mood for some good Thai food. The atmosphere and service are also great. I opted for the chicken pad Thai my boyfriend opted for the chicken pad Thai and we shared a side of brown rice.. I will definitely be back

Heather W.

Yelp
Visited Born thai today for a late lunch/early dinner. At 5:30 the restaurant wasn't too crowded; we got seated immediately. I had the lychee martini and we shared some appetizers to start. The lychee martini was sweet and well balanced. We ordered the duck roll, calamari, curry puffs and chicken satay. All delicious! For dinner I had the tamarind duck- quite flavorful, it's served with veggies and jasmine rice. The sauce served with it was perfect and comes on the side so you can control the amount you want on your meal. My neice had the salmon chili avocado. She loved it: slightly spicy with salmon cooked perfectly; it was served w veggies and jasmine rice. My sister had the Kana Moo Krob: Crispy pork belly sautéed with house sauce, Chinese broccoli served with jasmine rice. This was a welcome recommendation from our server and it was totally awesome. She loved it. Although we were full, we shared the lava cake dessert: also excellent. This came with vanilla ice cream. I thought I would leave a more thorough review while visiting. I frequently order take out from here and it's always great. 5star either way!

Caroidious N.

Yelp
The food was okay . The service was okay as well. The ambiance is very sexy. please note that this establishment charges a 18 gratuity for two people not fair...

Kalina M.

Yelp
The food and atmosphere were amazing!!! My Thai fried rice was some of the best I've ever had. Definitely 10/10

Xavier M.

Yelp
Great venue . They took care of us right when they were about to close and I did not feel rushed. Great service !

Angela G.

Yelp
Food Poison - I suggest not eating at this place! The service was great, and my shrimp fried rice was served in less than 5 minutes. However, once I got home and settled in, I started feeling queasy, and when I went to lie down, I ended up throwing up all my food. Something seemed off, which makes me think it wasn't cooked properly or was bad, causing it to come up so quickly. I love Thai food, but I recommend trying a different spot.

Naomi P.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambiance of this place is one of the loveliest of the many thai restaurants I've tried in the city! The pad thai has the perfect flavor combinations and texture-- I recommend this to everyone I come across looking for a nice, cozy, thai meal! Do not sleep on Born Thai!!!!

Natasha T.

Yelp
One canNOT go wrong enjoying a meal here! Whether you stop in for some apps and drinks (happy hour) or you need a delicious and freshly made meal. Get your palette ready! Especially recommend the chive dumplings and the whole red snapper. Cheers

M D.

Yelp
I ordered take out last night. The Rock Shrimp is incredible, probably the best fried shrimp in all of NYC. The Thai basil fried rice is really bland, it has zero flavor! I don't understand how it is being prepared! It's so bland and tasteless and it's super light brown, so you can actually see that it's probably not going to have much seasoning or sauce...and it doesn't.

Nizka L.

Yelp
My family use to go to this restaurant a lot but over the last year the food quality has gone down and the prices have gone the opposite way. I understand inflation is hitting everyone hard but the price for a meal here has gone way up especially when compared to other Thai restaurants with better tasting food. I won't be coming back as the cost is just not worth it

Uzayr A.

Yelp
Food just like the pictures. The pad Thai was sweet, sour and salty. IYKYK. The service staff were attentive and fast. Will 100% be here again

Ashley M.

Yelp
Really nice ambiance and the food is so good! The server was super nice also! A+++++++

Quimone M.

Yelp
my favorite after work spot.. they don't disappoint with their food or drinks I freaking love it here xoxo Nurasbaeblair

Zoe M.

Yelp
Really amazing food! We got two entrees and they were great portion sizes for the money, with incredible flavors! The restaurant is also clean and beautifully decorated, with super kind & efficient service. I can't wait to come back!

Natalie P.

Yelp
Food is always great here, was here the other day and it lacked a little flavor that I'm used to. I always get the crispy spring rolls, and they are always so good and they were solid this time too. I ordered the shrimp pad see ew and it was still good but lacked some flavor and seasoning I couldn't put my finger on it but I still enjoyed the meal. We also ordered the seafood medley with white rice, and that was really good as well. The servers were great and the rum punch was better than I expected! And they have a good happy hour! Def check it out

Kimberly G.

Yelp
This is some of the worst Thai food in all of NYC and they tried to scam my group. If want to know more about my lackluster experience keep reading. The drinks took a long time to come and they barely had any alcohol. The food was bland and had no flavor. The chicken dumplings tasted like they were steamed in dirty dishwater. The duck in the duck rolls was a couple of days old and was solid as a rock. The scam they tried to pull was charging a mandatory 20% tip. That's illegal in NY. Even if they add it you can ask for it to be lowered or removed. The waitress started arguing with us over it. So unprofessional. There are so many good restaurants on this street so don't waste your time here.

Bria D.

Yelp
After trying out a bunch of Thai restaurants all around the city, I have to say that this is my favorite place to get pineapple fried rice. Don't ask me about anything else because I've never ordered anything else from here. The backyard area is usually bustling with noisy people (this is a good thing) and chatter, but the pineapple fried rice with crispy duck is so delicious that it is impossible to pay attention to anything else, which I appreciate. I do recall a funny moment being served a Thai beer called Singha that the server was very proud of, but for some reason, it was served to us warm, which was bad but also very funny given the amount of hype the server gave to the beer. When I go back, I will of course order the pineapple fried rice (duh) and I will try the beer again. Hopefully I'll be sipping on a cold one.

Seyi O.

Yelp
I've been patronizing Born Thai for years now. I usually order via Uber eats and have the pleasure of dining in for the first time this past week. The server was amazing accommodating, and very pleasant. I will definitely be dining in more often.

Janice Y.

Yelp
Be careful, the tips is already included in the bill! Also, i did the math for tips, cant believe they charge 22% build in tips. The food is average but don't feel comfortable about the tips.

Percy H.

Yelp
I wish I could say a hit, and that would be enough, but alas, I can't. However, I will say Born Thai was an absolute hit. Just a few blocks down from the Barclay Center, Born Thai is easy to get to from the Barclay Center and local MTA transit. My dining experience was not only a fantastic one; I had the opportunity to try something new. This particular dining experience allowed me to try their lump crab fried rice. If you have the chance to dine at Born Thai, I encourage you to try it. Honestly, when I saw it on the menu, I got a bit nervous because immediately, I had visions of immigration crab meat. I asked the hostess/waitress, and she assured me it's made with real lump crab and not the imitation stuff. Again, I would like to be able to write, go, it's a hit, but you will experience that when you give them a try. Also, be sure to enjoy one of their delicious cocktails. I had the "relationship" cocktail; let's see if you can pick it out when you go. While you are at it, give it a try.

Ahiliya N.

Yelp
This was the only place open in the area for a late lunch with friends, so we decided to try it out. The inside is super cozy and cute, and the staff was kind and attentive. The menus are very cute and are inside DVD covers. We ordered the massaman curry with chicken, the pad kee mao with tofu, and the eggplant basil tofu. The curry was interesting with chickpeas and avocado in the dish as well. I didn't try the pad kee mao, but my friend said it was one of the best she'd had. My eggplant basil tofu was slightly a letdown. The fried tofu was soggy, and the eggplant had left a ton of water on the bottom of the plate. I thought the flavors were good, but I asked for Thai Hot and didn't get that. Overall, I thought it was a cute place! I don't think I would return, though.

Liz D.

Yelp
I have been meaning to try this spot for a minute. I was in the area and thought giving it a try after work for happy hour would be great. I walked in and the waiter checked my vax card and my friend who was meeting me was already there. He walked me over to her. She already had a drink and I inquired about the happy hour special since I did not see a menu for it on the table. I was told it was removing a few dollars from the signature cocktails listed. I ordered a moscow mule and it was ok. We ordered appetizers. Wings, tempura shrimp, and spring rolls. They were all good but nothing outstanding. I ordered the pad see ew with beef and shrimp and it felt dry . Usually i get this dish and it has some sauce on it still from the cook. This felt drier than usual. The beef was also tough. When I asked for some sauce I was told they would only be able to sell me 3ozs of it which was the first time that has happened to me. All in all Born was just ok. The staff was attentive. However, I have had way better thai food and wouldn't be in a rush to go back.

Mariah W.

Yelp
Great food and ambiance. Drinks were great. I would def come back. And it's very low key.

Jay G.

Yelp
Used to be my favorite Thai place in Brooklyn, but I've gone back twice recently and it just isn't the same. Drinks are still great, but quality of food has dropped considerably. I could let that go, but the behavior of the bartender, waitress and owner is a no go. They practically stalk your table (or in my case, the bar) as you drink and seem to get upset if you make it clear that you're only there for drinks and not food. It's very uncomfortable. Let your paying customers relax (we have a lot goin on outside of the brief moment we stop by after work, etc) instead of adding to their stress by hovering over them. Will no longer include this place in my rotation when I'm in the city. Shame because they really were good at one point.

Maximo H.

Yelp
Amazing food! Friendly staff! Great place to eat. Chill spot. Quality of food is amazing.

Johns J.

Yelp
Food and service was great!! The host was welcoming and attentive to our needs. The food was fresh, plated with care and delicious!

Payal P.

Yelp
Craving Thai so tried this for the first time. Got chicken satay to started, sauce was pretty good. For entrees. We got the fried rice and pad Thai. I asked for the pad Thai to be really spicy but was still good and added in extra chili to kick it up. The fried rice had better flavor in my opinion, it was good!

Lew O.

Yelp
It wasn't bad. I had the wing wing with Jasmine rice. I highly recommend that selection.

Kajaal C.

Yelp
Calm soothing and accommodating. Born is a restaurant for date nights, best friend celebrations or a quick delicious bite. Venture to the unknown and your tastebuds will thank you. End your night with fried ice cream and a second drink. Born is a restaurant that should not be missed.

Wanda J.

Yelp
I have been coming to Born resturant for years and I have not been disappointed yet. The food, drinks and service is great. I would of taken a picture of the food but I ate it.

Amanda W.

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD!!!! From the Seafood Se-ew noodle to the shrimp add chicken Bangkok noodle, Make it spicy, you wont regret it. Before you open the lid the food already looks good to the big reveal, did not disappoint at all. Everything's flavorful. Big portions too The thai tea too. Sooooooo goooood!!!!

Marvin W.

Yelp
I've read the reviews about this place from good to bad and they all seem to be right. Food was ok but over priced including the scammy 20% tip. Service felt rushed but not rude at times depending on staff member. My drink was good but appetizer so-so. Meal was decent, my meal ok but wife so-so. Decor was nice but lighting made it hard to read menu. A place you want to like but can't trust. All the reviews are believable and that's the reason I wouldn't return.

Donesha T.

Yelp
Wonderful experience at this gem. I had the crispy shrimp rolls which were tasty. I also tried their kee-mao (medium spicy) with shrimp which is my typical safety dish when trying a new Thai restaurant. Extremely flavorful and the noodles weren't over cooked. Lychee martini was made to perfection. I'll be back

Yunqi Z.

Yelp
Rock Shrimp and green duck were great. Shrimp was huge. Crispy pork belly was great too but the crispy part was a bit hard to chew. Service was great! We went during weekday night and the place was nice and quite.

Verneisha M.

Yelp
Decided to come here on a family outting let's see how it goes. Food, ambiance was really a whole vibe. The customer service was good I could really say excellent. The bathrooms are small but clean. Best thing was the had Happy Hour on a Saturday!

Reesha S.

Yelp
Pretty good Thai Rice w Jumbo shrimp - Thai wings & grilled pork - would visit again when in area

Shurida L.

Yelp
I would definitely come back. The calamari, shrimp rolls and pineapple fried rice were really good. Checking in to Yelp allowed me to get a free Thai iced tea which is my favorite. My sister had the rum punch and really liked it also.

Jojo M.

Yelp
Brooklyn, New York Born Thai The crispy spring rolls & Chicken Pad Kee Mao were perfect & delicious. The Thai Iced Tea was refreshing. The service was friendly, professional & prompt. I would definitely dine here again.

Nicole J.

Yelp
This is usually my favorite Thai spot, but I am so disappointed today. I ordered Pad Thai from Uber Eats and there was an option for it to be spicy. I enjoy spicy food, so I said to myself, why not a little kick in my Pad Thai.. well... That was more than a kick. It was unbearably hot, to the point where every bite needed extreme gulps of water to rinse the scorch from my mouth. I tried my best to eat it because I was hungry, but I gave up. My boyfriend came home, who usually pours heaping amounts of Halal hot sauce over everything and even he said it was too hot. I feel like I got a rushed dish that didn't sustain the quality I usually get when I'm there. And if I can be honest, it's not the first time I have felt like that about their takeout and delivery orders in the past. As I'm typing this hours later my mouth still feels raw and my stomach is hot. Hoping they will be more mindful that spicy still means edible.

Cédric C.

Yelp
One of my usual, always great food and consistency. Staff can be a lil slow to take order but food comes quick

Holly C.

Yelp
The appetizer chicken satay was okay, I've had better. The Thai ice tea was good. As for the entree I waited a long time to receive it. When the waitress finally came back I told her if they didn't already start making my entree to forget it and take it off my bill. The person I was with was almost done with their food that can give an idea of how long I was waiting. The waitress comes back and says they did start making it and I'll be out soon. I said okay that's fine. When she brings my food it's the wrong order. I ordered an entree with shrimp not chicken. I tell her this and decide to keep it because I've already been waiting so long. However I try the dish and the chicken was chewy, tough and had no flavor. I ordered a spicy basil sautéed entree so there is no way it should have tasted so bland. I wasn't doing it so I sent it back and asked it to be taken off the bill. The waitress definitely had an attitude and I wasn't imagining it because I asked for the bill and she kept walking by our table, chatting with the other 2 girls and taking other orders. I had to ask someone else for our bill. I've been here a few times and it's been decent. This will be my last time giving them my business.
