This stylish Queens hotel offers modern rooms, some with skyline balconies, plus a rooftop bar and friendly staff, just a quick subway ride from Manhattan.
"Our pick for a boutique hotel in Queens, the Boro Hotel stands out from the rest thanks to its rooftop bar with spectacular views of the city and negronis on tap, lobby cafe that's made for co-working and socializing, and convenient location, just a hop over the river to Midtown via the 7 train. Guests of the Boro Hotel can easily enjoy Queens attractions like MoMA PS1 and Socrates Sculpture Park."
"Just across the East River from midtown Manhattan, on the border between Astoria and Long Island City, the Boro Hotel, to put it simply, is a stunner — architects Grzywinski+Pons, on fairly short notice, transformed an existing (but never used) structure into a boutique hotel that’s equal parts organic warmth and industrial cool, with some astonishing views and a generous helping of sunlight thrown in for good measure." - Mark Fedeli

"Boutique hotels have officially come to Queens, New York City's borough on the rise. Located in Long Island City, the closest Queens neighborhood to Manhattan, this elegant yet affordable property offers a stylish silver-toned lobby where guests can mingle and co-work and a rooftop with sweeping views of the Empire State Building and East River. Its proximity to multiple subway lines and to LaGuardia Airport are a bonus."
"What It Is: The bar on top of a new hotel in Long Island City Perfect For: Day Drinking We’ve been to a lot of rooftop bars recently, so we can confidently say that many of them are sh*tshows. That’s why we were excited to discover the bar at the top of the Boro Hotel in Long Island City. There was no wait to get in on a recent Saturday night, and the relatively small space - a few couches, tables, and counter seats - has great views of the East River and Manhattan. This hotel also has Beebe’s on its ground floor, so keep it in mind for a one-two punch with a date or small group. The Verdict: You don’t need to go out of your way to drink here, but it’s a good option next time you’re near LIC and want a rooftop where you can actually get in." - Hannah Albertine, Bryan Kim, Katherine Lewin, Hillary Reinsberg, Chris Stang
