The Best Pasta In Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"We must’ve walked right by this vendor inside The Citadel a dozen times before someone told us to try their rigatoni carbonara. That bowl of pasta—with its rich yolk-y sauce and crispy slivers of guanciale—is now one of our favorite bowls of pasta in Miami. So we no longer walk past Borti, especially on days when we’re craving a casual yet exceptional bowl of pasta so big we can have it again for breakfast the next day. The carbonara is the menu’s highlight, but everything is good—from the gnocchi to one of Miami’s best lasagnas." - virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino

I came for the pasta… and now I think I’m in a committed relationship with it. The vodka sauce? Chef’s kiss. The fried calamari? Crispy little sea angels. I’m officially on a mission to eat my way through the entire menu by the end of the year—don’t try to stop me. If carbs and happiness had a baby, it would be this place. Authentic, delicious Italian food that makes you want to cancel your plans and order seconds.

Google
After 9 days visiting Miami, this little hidden gem was my favorite out of everything I ate here! I was surprised such little shop could provide so many choices of pasta and all handmade! I had the shaved sardine pasta, which I had it once in Sardinia long time ago. I was surprised I could taste this again in Miami! Big portion and very delicious! Don’t miss the tiramisu too! Highly recommended!!!

Google
SOOO delicious! I ordered the truffle mushroom rissotto and it was amazing! The pasta was so fresh and amazing flavors. The pasta here is better than many of the restaurants in Miami. I also found it to be affordable. My plate was $20 and the portion was great, i had just the right amount of leftovers. Great customer service as well. Can’t wait to come back.

Google
Borti is a real gem in the middle of Miami. I'm Italian from Roma and let me tell you.. the amatriciana, carbonara, cacio e pepe and all the traditional Italian dishes are SOOOOO DAMN GOOD!!!! Please do yourself a favor and come try it out!

Alan Coles

Google
One of our new favorite spots for authentic Italian food. Many might past it up because it is in a food court (albeit a very nice funky food court), but they'd be missing out on great flavors.

Google
The best Squid Ink pasta and overall pasta in town that doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg

Google
It’s an expensive lunch but when I need good pasta, this is my go to spot. My go to dish is the Bucatini Amatriciana. It’s a slightly spicy red sauce with guanciale which a salt-cured Italian pork. Kinda like pork belly. It’s DELICIOUS! I’ve tried other dishes there but this is my favorite.

Yelp
Pros: fresh pasta!!! Very delicious, I had the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, wanted to keep it classic, but they definitely have several more adventurous options. Big servings, chill ambiance. Cons: pricey for pasta, have to pay for parking. Overall great food hall, tons of options for everyone.

Yelp
Stopped in at the Citadel for lunch and decided to try Borti - my friend said that despite the price, Borti had some of the best pasta in Miami. I ordered the special of the day: Mushroom and Truffle Risotto. My friend ordered the Spaghetti & Meatballs. We were both obsessed with our meals. Delicious, filling, and came out fairly quickly. Would absolutely eat here again!

Yelp
This amazing restaurant is located inside The Citadel. I've always walked past but never ordered. Tonight was the night. The chefs are actually Italian. They were chatting with a patron in Italian and I was sold. They gave me great suggestions on what to order. Bonus - they have pictures of every dish! Super helpful! When you order, they give you a buzzer so you know when your order is ready. The pasta was so fresh! I like my pasta a little spicy. They graciously added chili flakes. I was so stuffed I had to request a to-go box. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Hands down the best pasta in Miami. Nestled in the back of the Citadel is Borti--a pasta lovers dream, especially if you've ever been to Italy and have been looking to scratch that itch ever since, then you need to try this place out. A casual environment, one can walk up and see pictures of all the dishes they offer (this is my favorite as it allows you to eat not only with your heart but your eyes). Pictures are my favorite when ordering at a restaurant because it manages your expectations! My go to is the Vodka Rigatoni but truly all of them are so good. The pasta is cooked perfectly Al dente, and the sauces are 10/10. One dish is perfect for one person if you're not interesting in sharing, but are still totally shareable if you want to try multiple dishes with friends. Practical things to note--since Borti is located in a food hall, you simply walk up to order, take a food buzzer, and find somewhere to sit in the ample seating space in the Citadel. I've personally never had a problem finding seating whether at a table or barstool. Borti is a must try!

Yelp
The most authentic dish of pasta in south Florida! My partner and I love this place. He's Italian and also celiac, so we love that we can always count on Borti to have a dish of authentic, Italian pasta with gluten free options available! Definitely recommend checking this place out if you haven't already. The owner, Mauro, is often around the restaurant and is always happy to take time to tell clients about his story and love for great ingredients. If you see Mauro, make sure you say hi!

Yelp
For a long time I've wanted to try Spaghetti alLimone so I could not pass up the opportunity when I saw it was the special of the day. I was not disappointed! It was more delicious than I expected. A buttery lemon sauce and then topped with fresh grated cheese. My tastebuds were in heaven. The only negative is they should've included a piece of bread to soak up the sauce left on my plate.

Yelp
Delicious pasta and fresh from the stove pan. Crisp pancetta and melt in your mouth pasta.
google avatar

Doughy D.

Yelp
Great pasta at affordable prices. Conveniently located in the Citadel food hall, don't miss it. Every dish better than the last.
google avatar

Nadé H.

Yelp
The pasta tastes handmade and fresh, service is quick and easy, theyre located in The Citadel so the ambiance is a easy 10/10 . However take out options the portions are rather small, dine it the portions are worth the money

Yelp
Tried the Cacio e Pepe takeout on a whim during a rainy night in Miami...overall the food was good although the noodles were slightly undercooked. We also tried a Caesar salad from here which was delicious
google avatar

Emmanuel S.

Yelp
The best pasta in Miami. They never disappoint. I order from here weekly and their consistency with quality and flavor is unmatched.

Yelp
This spot is located in the citadel and I was there trying different restaurants. I ordered the lasagna and an order of meatballs. The lasagna was just ok, the size portion was good, but I've had better- the seasoning was a bit off. The meatballs were a bit too soft for me and lacked flavor, the sauce was just ok. Will I order again from her...probably not.

Yelp
This was my first time trying Borti's food. I ordered fried calamari and pacherri finocchiona (pasta). The calamari was good but extremely salty in my opinion. The pasta had good texture, the arugula and the meat sauce went well together. Staff was nice at the order counter.
google avatar

Stefany D.

Yelp
Another great Citadel spot! I have been to the Citadel many times, but this was my first time trying Borti and I was not disappointed! I had always wanted to try it, but was never in the mood for pasta when I went, but yesterday was the day! I had the rigatoni a la vodka. It was delicious and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The vodka sauce was creamy with right amount of tomato flavor. The portion size is pretty big compared to other places and you will def get full or have leftovers! Glad I tried it and will be trying other menu items very soon!
google avatar

Sara O.

Yelp
Nice ambiance inside the snazzy but modest Citadel food hall. You can enjoy your authentic pasta in a chilled vibe with music (sometimes live) and dessert and drinks options from other vendors inside. All the stands are self service so you order and pay for your food upfront and go pick it up when it's ready. We had the carbonara which was the most authentic carbonara I've had in Miami. No cream, no bacon, legitimate pancetta and Italian cheeses. If you want a great tasting authentic Italian meal, check this place out! We drive 15 miles to come here just for the carbonara .

Ken M.

Yelp
The penne alla vodka was outrageous. The bucatini was so perfect and Al dente! Amazing find.
google avatar

Tricia F.

Yelp
Borti has exceptional food. Whether it's the bolognese or spaghetti puttanesca or even their daily specials, I've never had one mediocre dish. For my last order I had the spaghetti Al pomodoro pesto with fresh burrata. It was phenomenal. I also really appreciate their to-go containers- they're round, easy to hold and easy to reheat in the microwave without making a huge mess. A lot of other pasta restaurants use plastic containers or containers that don't heat up well. It's the little things. Bottom line- I love this restaurant. 10/10 recommend!
google avatar

Paolo D.

Yelp
Amazing pastas and wine selection. I'm Italian and I'm a little difficult when speaking about food . I can tell you: this is wonderful place !!! 100 points
google avatar

Hiren P.

Yelp
Amazing place! Got the Rigatoni alka Vodka, great flavor and saucy! I like my pasta with some kick so I added some chili flakes which made it perfect. I will say the rigatoni was a little extra al dente, I prefer it cooked just a tad bit more but besides that, it was great! The tiramisu was AMAZING debated going back for a second one. Great balance of coffee and sweetness. The bruschetta was okay. I really enjoyed the bread but the tomatoes just tasted like tomatoes. They didn't have much of a garlic flavor besides the natural taste of a tomato. Ended up just taking the tomatoes off and eating the bread with the pasta. Staff was friendly. Overall great place, would come back to try the different pasta dishes and for that tiramisu.

Yelp
My husband went to order food for takeout for me because I'm home sick but was craving some pasta since I had ordered from here before. The customer service is sorely lacking and the absolute disrespect my husband faced from some workers from this establishment cannot go unnoticed. I hope management takes a look at this review. Please do something about your other Hispanic workers (I am Hispanic myself) that make loud, obnoxious and rude comments about how much a person leaves as TIP for a SERVICE FOR TAKEOUT. My husband NOR ANYONE FOR THAT MATTER should EVER feel or be PRESSURED into giving any tips that are 1) undeserved and 2) that are supposed to be OPTIONAL. Now I know why the Citadel is running into the ground. Your employees need better training -- or keep the unnecessary comments to yourselves outside of the business area. Absolutely atrocious. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. The food may be good but if customer service is shit, then I will make sure my family and I won't go back to an establishment of this nature.

Yelp
New amazing dish at Borti Pasta (best fresh pasta place in the East Coast), the excellent new Polpetone Meatballs. Had them with a glass of wine at the bar. Sooooo good. Always wanting to try a new dish at Borti Pasta and this one - again - excelled all expectations. By far. Unmatched italian food!

Juliette S.

Yelp
The food was to die for. Borti's food really made me feel like I was back in Italy. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce and pancetta were amazing! The service was quick and they were so polite, definitely would go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Pasta tagliatelle bolognese was everything. Authentic af. I love how they always have a different kind of specials. This food is definitely made with love
google avatar

Lee L.

Yelp
I enjoy my pasta so much! I inhaled it. It was nice a hot, I loved both pasta. I thought the fettuccine could have been softer but everyone has preference. It's located in a building with many restaurants that includes bars/desserts. You are free to sit anywhere and enjoy light music and loud conversations throughout from all around. The service at Borti was fair, we order together and had napkins hot dish :)
google avatar

Molly B.

Yelp
I shared the pesto gnocchi with my husband who said it was the best gnocchi he's ever had. I appreciated the big portion which can be hard to find in Miami. Would love to come back and explore the rest of the menu. They were out of the Suppli (fried risotto balls) that I came here for, I also wanted to try the cacio e pepe from a delicious pic on Instagram but the pesto grabbed my attention.

Giuseppe D.

Yelp
Came here to that the Rigatoni Carbonara but I had the chance to try the Bucatini Amatriciana. They were both one of the best pasta I've tried in Miami but my favorite that surprised me was the bucatini amatriaciana but I would definitely recommend both.
google avatar

Inociana S.

Yelp
Decided to try this new spot in the Citadel, I loved it! :) I'm very much a fan of any variant of seafood pasta and this did not disappoint. The flavor is impeccable! I could tell from the first bite that this was made very fresh. I'm pretty sure the noodles are made there as well. I've never had noodles shaped like this before but I didn't mind them, they actually went with the dish more than I thought they would. Based on the owner and taste of the dish I can tell this place is very authentic! I've had seafood pasta in Italy and this is very comparable. Tip: Ask them to cook the noodles to the more softer side, the owner recommended it that way and if he didn't it may have been too tough. If you're ever in the area definitely give this place a shot!
google avatar

Beki M.

Yelp
The food is terrible. Super greasy and poor quality pasta. I would recommend to stay away from here. It is unfortunate as it is hard to to mess up pasta
google avatar

Damian P.

Yelp
Was looking for pasta and this place did not disappoint. Very flavorful pastas. I had the carbonara and my wife had the cacio E pepe . Both we're very flavorful and fresh. This location is inside a food court, it's a great place to meet up with friends and explore different quinines.

Yelp
Best pasta in miami! Thank you Borti! Always a pleasure to eat there! Just amazing! Best pasta ever !
google avatar

Edriyana R.

Yelp
Located in the citadel i have passed borti a couple of times and finally decided to try it. love Italian food but borti is a miss for me I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and the cacio epepe and the pasta lacked flavor and was a bit too hard for me.
google avatar

Rey C.

Yelp
This place is incredible. It is part of a new concept with communal area like in Europe. The food is spectacular, the gorgonzola gnocchi is a must try. The calamari appetizer is definitely a winner. The staff here are super friendly and they give great recommendations, including wine selection. Definitely will be coming here again. Thank you staff for a wonderful dinner. The rest in my table felt the same, thank you.
google avatar

Orlando J.

Yelp
Tasted the cacio e pepe and tagliatelle alla bolognese, both were delicious! Fresh and tasty in the cozy and laid back The Citadel. The garlic bread was flaky and buttery, very good! The staff was courteous. Very clean place.
google avatar

Flauriane D.

Yelp
Loovvveeeeee the shrimp pasta! The service is really good too. The place is kinda pricey for the amount of food you get. I want to try a few other things on the menu because this fettuccine pasta was so good.
google avatar

Maryam K.

Yelp
Pasta was delicious I just wish the portions for a bit more for the Price. It looked like half the portion of other restaurants
google avatar

Kara S.

Yelp
My friend ordered the Pacherri Mare and I Tagliatelle Boscaiola , BOTH WERE AMAZING and so flavorful . The pasta tasted so fresh . Overall great spot ... I want to try everything on the menu !
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
Yes The hype is real, freshly made aldente pasta cooked to perfection. Garlic bread spot on. We are from our of town and liked it so much we ate here two days in a row and we are not big on Italian food. Next time in town we will be back for sure.
google avatar

Ari D.

Yelp
i'm sad. i ordered a bruschetta here....if the bruschetta is any inclination of what the pasta tastes like, i wont be coming back. i grew up eating bruschetta...this one from borti misses on so many levels. there's no depth, no salt, no basil, no oil.....no combination of the richness and freshness that bruschetta should have. not to mention the bread is not right for it either. super thin & was soggy when served to me. i'm upset i wasted $9 + tip on that. it literally tasted like tomatoes on thin toasted bread.
google avatar

Giulia c.

Yelp
Amazing aperitivo, better wine and great pasta! Really nice workers and fast service as well
google avatar

Kristen C.

Yelp
The service was quite friendly and the pasta was fresh. Sadly, the Cacio e Pepe didn't have enough sauce, was dry and overly peppery. Will try another dish next time!
google avatar

Brandon L.

Yelp
The pasta is incredible here. Out of everything at the citadel this is no question the best option there. (And I eat all the types of food they have at the citadel but the Italian food is the best). The pastas are to die for.
google avatar

Marci T.

Yelp
This place is located in The Citadel food hall. Was very surprised how delicious their food was. Truly some of the best pasta I've eaten anywhere even in fine dining restaurants this would excel. Had the pappardelle with mushrooms and can't wait to go back for more.
google avatar

Daniel G.

Yelp
Went back to BORTI PASTA and without a doubt, THE best Bolognese pasta in the US. The "secret" Mama Borti recipe is just amazing, can't get enough of the fresh quality , service and Italian charm of the place and the staff and Mr Mauro himself.
google avatar

Stefano C.

Yelp
Amazing place with very authentic italian food. The menu is well done and everything i tried was great. His special pasta with spezzatino is something special! The house red wine is very good, easy to drink. Mauro always makes us feel at home with his warm hospitality. I highly recommend it!!!

Melissa T.

Yelp
I asked for a "creamy" fettuccine Con Panna with shrimp and this is what they gave me. I do not know if delivery orders are not taken seriously but this doesn't look that the picture in their page at all, this fettuccine did not have any sauce or cheese, it was just oily. I am very disappointed with this restaurant.
google avatar

David D.

Yelp
Fantastic pasta!! Molto bene!! My wife and I were visiting Miami on vacation and met some friends on the beach who recommended Borti for authentic Italian pasta. We decided to give it a try before our flight, and it did not disappoint! I had the pappardelle with mushrooms and it was incredible. My wife had the gnocchi which was equally tasty. We both polished our plates with fresh, locally made Italian bread. I wish I could have ordered another plate to try, but the serving was ample and I was already full. Borti is a can't miss stop for a lunch time indulgence, a casual dinner experience, or the best takeaway money can buy. Can't wait until we return to Miami so we can drop in for some more Borti pasta. Until next time, ciao!
google avatar

Real O. G.

Yelp
An Italian friend recommended it to me. It is good, fresh tasting, simple, and fair prices. The menu is good and offers the right selections of classics. I like that they have Cacio e Pepe.
google avatar

Elisa G.

Yelp
The best pasta place in town. High quality and service. Highly recommend this place. Is a piece of Italy in Miami. Really hard to find a place like this! Quality - Fair Price! Really really really good!
google avatar

Martha R.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. I am Italian and for years I struggled to find an authentic place that would make pasta the way my dad and grandma did. Then, I found Borti and I haven't stopped raving about it ever since. The quality of the food is unparalleled and the prices are more than honest. Portions are big and staff is so friendly. If you close your eyes while eating one of their dishes you'll feel like you're in Italy in an urgenti trattoria. Super recommend!!!
