I went to Bossanova tonight after getting off work at 3 AM. I've eaten here before and have had some issues in the past, but I didn't have many healthy vegan or vegetarian options available at that hour, so I reluctantly decided to go.
I ordered the vegetarian bowl and clearly asked for no mushrooms and extra collard greens. I was substituting the mushrooms for the collard greens, not adding anything extra. Still, they charged me for the collard greens, which made no sense. I voiced my concern, but reluctantly agreed to the charge since they were busy. I was told it would be a 30-minute wait.
After waiting the full 30 minutes, I asked about my order. The woman who had been helping me got distracted and started assisting another group, which frustrated me, but I stayed calm. I eventually found another worker to help track down my food. When I finally got it, I checked it on the spot because of past issues, and sure enough, it had mushrooms throughout.
So now I had waited 30 minutes, paid extra for a substitution, been ignored, and received the wrong order. I went back and explained the situation. A male employee was helpful and took the bowl back to correct it. I waited another five minutes, received the new order, checked it again, and now it had no collard greens at all. Instead, they added extra beans.
At this point, it felt like I was being messed with. I went back a third time and explained everything again. After another five minutes, I finally got a bowl that looked right. I double-checked it and it seemed okay.
I just got home and I'm about to eat it, hoping it was worth the headache. I do plan to return in the future because I like the food when it's done right, but tonight was extremely disappointing.
I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to get what I actually ordered. I was patient, respectful, and clear about what I wanted. This kind of experience should not be normalized. I hope someone in management reads this and takes real steps to improve the service.
