"Head out to Des Plaines for a trove of fresh seafood. Folks can see the products for themselves as the restaurant also doubles as a fish market. The kitchen will prepare anything it sells and that includes a Greek- and Cajun-style lineup of shrimp, scallops, octopus, lobster, and various fishes. A second outpost is located in Wheeling. Make a reservation through OpenTable." - Samantha Nelson, Eater Staff

"Fresh seafood is the name of the game at Boston Fish Market. Chef Louis “Louie” Psihogios has two locations, but the Des Plaines one is closest to the airport. Find lobster rolls, New England clam chowder, crabcakes, and hefty fish platters. Worried you won’t be getting the best seafood? Don’t be. Chicago’s status as an air transportation hub makes up for its lack of proximity to an ocean." - Ashok Selvam, Naomi Waxman

Everything was perfect and beyond my expectations. We went for late lunch on a Friday and found a cozy spot on the patio in the shade. Service was fantastic! Please, heed my warning: the plates are extremely generous so be prepared to share and/or bring home leftovers. Please see photo with my ENTIRE ARM for scale. House cut fries were a surprise and cooked perfectly. 10/10 look forward to coming back AND shopping their market to cook fresh fish at home.

Best seafood in town! This is the perfect spot to bring family, close friends, or enjoy a date night. Everything is incredibly fresh—straight from the ocean. With two locations offering exceptional customer service and generous portions, plenty of leftovers for the next day!

If you're thinking of seafood, you absolutely have to come here! Everything is incredibly fresh, like it just came out of the ocean. The portions are huge and so satisfying – I ate until my belly was bursting! The service is also excellent; the staff are always smiling. I highly recommend it if you're looking for fresh seafood.

Had the lobster bisque and the Cajun catfish. Never been here before, but wanted to see what the hype was about. Honestly not a bad place to go if you enjoy seafood. My only issue was my food didn't come out hot? What is up with that considering they just made it? Definitely everything is seasoned well and not dry. Just a bit confused.

The food was really good, but the service was so bad, it dropped my review by 2 stars. The server absolutely had nothing to recommend and could only say everything is good. They couldn't even mention their own favorite, offer suggestions, or tell us about specials. I had to go back to the big board upon entrance and find out myself. After ordering an appetizer, it took 10 minutes (or even more) for the server to return to take our order. We asked for more bread but it came after my soup, and half through dinner l, which was a good 15 minutes. Refills were hard to come by too. It truly was a joke but not one that made us laugh. Getting the check was another long delay because the server was more interested in watching the basketball game. I couldn't even get his attention because he never bothered to look towards us when he happened to come around. Other servers seemed way more attentive to their customers, and I'm not sure if the color of the server's shirt means anything. Hopefully black wasn't someone of a higher position because our black clad server didn't earn that standing with us. There are so many things I want to try, but I am not sure it's worth the wait and frustration.

I love seafood and when I found this 4.6 🌟 restaurant, I made plans to try it. I didn’t make a reservation and regretted it. The table was right at the entrance into the sun room. The tables are pretty close to each other and the personnel/guests were always hustling near us. The food was pricey but the portion justifies the price. It was not to die for - I had much better seafood in Cyprus or even New England - but it was decent. Overall, for $141 (2 entrees and 2 drinks) you would expect a more than casual dining experience but here you get metal outdoor tables with holes and a sense of rush as they try to serve as many people as possible. If that’s your date/anniversary night, then you can get a much better experience for your $150. Also, they charged us 3% processing fee without any heads up.

The ingredients of all the dishes are fresh, no bad fishy smell on any seafood! The portions of the dishes are huge! The scallops are huge! The only downside is that the tables are very close together. Most of the time, people share the same table with other people they don’t know. It could be good if you wanna make some new friends!

5 stars for our waiter that gave us excellent service. 5 star for the food,. The problem we had was with owner, zero stars for him, (the older man with a suit). We were a party of 8 (4adults/4kids) and had made reservation approximately 30 days in advance. We had a great service our waiter kept coming suggesting dishes and filling our glasses. We had appetizer, main course and lastly the dessert i was still sipping on my coffee , my kids still finishing dessert, the waiter still hadn't ask if we wanted anything else (o really wanted to finish with a grappa)and we hadn't request the bill yet either. It was at that point the gentleman in a suit came up to our table and with a shy smile said: "if you don't mind we would need the table for other people " Literally kicked us out. So i looked at the waiter very disappointed, because we were not done with our dinner yet, like i said i was going to order some grappa but instead i asked for the bill. I was disgusted at that point. Our 600$ bill was not enough for the greedy owner. On the way out he was standing next to the table and I expressed how disappoined i was and what he did to us was disrespectful . He said he was sorry and tried to shake my hand but i didn't. In his defend he came back saying we didn't have a reservation and we had more then 2 hours of time for our dinner (Keep in mind it was a Saturday evening and they were very busy but still...).WHAT???? I couldn't believe my ears, i didn't know we had to shovel our food in our mouth because we were on a timer I said! I also made him aware that I had made reservation and he should be ashamed that's not how you do business that's not how you treat people.(should have seen his sorry face at this point he knew he funked up, but it was too late) He basically made room for another party by loosing other customers. So be aware apparently you will be on a timer and the pressure is on you, they will watch you. If you are taking a breather in between meals they will assume you are done and try to kick you out. If you are looking to have a good time with friends and want to enjoy your dinner this place it's not it. I wont ever go back i do not recommend. Best luck to the greedy owner.
