Chicago’s Best Seafood Restaurants

"Head out to Des Plaines for a trove of fresh seafood. Folks can see the products for themselves as the restaurant also doubles as a fish market. The kitchen will prepare anything it sells and that includes a Greek- and Cajun-style lineup of shrimp, scallops, octopus, lobster, and various fishes. A second outpost is located in Wheeling. Make a reservation through OpenTable." - Samantha Nelson, Eater Staff

The 14 Best Restaurants Near Chicago’s O’Hare Airport (ORD) | Eater Chicago

"Fresh seafood is the name of the game at Boston Fish Market. Chef Louis “Louie” Psihogios has two locations, but the Des Plaines one is closest to the airport. Find lobster rolls, New England clam chowder, crabcakes, and hefty fish platters. Worried you won’t be getting the best seafood? Don’t be. Chicago’s status as an air transportation hub makes up for its lack of proximity to an ocean." - Ashok Selvam

Some of the best seafood away from the ocean, best around Chicago area. Lots of food! They don’t skimp out, This place will not disappoint. Go hungry. I ordered half dozen oysters and the shrimp cocktail for appetizers, My wife had the cajun shrimp all were absolutely delicious. I had the Salmon dish and my wife ordered a lobster roll and clam chowder to compare with our east coast seafood experience. Both dinners came with rice and veggies. Lots of food! Loved it.

Everything was perfect and beyond my expectations. We went for late lunch on a Friday and found a cozy spot on the patio in the shade. Service was fantastic! Please, heed my warning: the plates are extremely generous so be prepared to share and/or bring home leftovers. Please see photo with my ENTIRE ARM for scale. House cut fries were a surprise and cooked perfectly. 10/10 look forward to coming back AND shopping their market to cook fresh fish at home.

First, the fried catfish and shrimp were delicious. Even the coleslaw was good. I was super disappointed that the fries tasted horrible. They were limp and soggy. I purchased a carryout order. It was only a 15 min drive. I don’t know if they need to pack the food differently for the fries. Everything else was great!

The food here is always excellent in the service is always great. Maro is the best waiter! We always enjoy the food and the atmosphere here. This is my second time here as we are from out of town. If you love, delicious food and a great atmosphere then you should definitely try this restaurant out. You won’t be disappointed.

Google
Best seafood in town! This is the perfect spot to bring family, close friends, or enjoy a date night. Everything is incredibly fresh—straight from the ocean. With two locations offering exceptional customer service and generous portions, plenty of leftovers for the next day!

Google
We visited both locations. We love fried calamari. This time we also ordered fried perch. The portions are big. We couldn’t finish both. The taste was very good. We will definitely come back again.

Google
Had the lobster bisque and the Cajun catfish. Never been here before, but wanted to see what the hype was about. Honestly not a bad place to go if you enjoy seafood. My only issue was my food didn't come out hot? What is up with that considering they just made it? Definitely everything is seasoned well and not dry. Just a bit confused.

Google
If you're thinking of seafood, you absolutely have to come here! Everything is incredibly fresh, like it just came out of the ocean. The portions are huge and so satisfying – I ate until my belly was bursting! The service is also excellent; the staff are always smiling. I highly recommend it if you're looking for fresh seafood.

Yelp
We came here last Saturday night. Their parking lot is too small but plenty of parking by Aldi's. It was still very packed at 6:30 pm but luckily we got seated right away. They sat us outside which was fine. It did take awhile for the waitress to take our orders because she was the only waitress in our section. After that, the service and food was pretty good. We ordered grilled calamari, poor boy, and fish and chips. They served us complimentary garlic bread. They were very decent. They weren't as hard as a rock. The middle had softness, some garlicky seasoning, and the crust was crispy. The grilled calamari appetizer was enough for two people to share. Very fresh and bursting with flavor. After weeks of trying to find a decent po boy in Illinois, the one at Boston Fish Market has met my expectations. Shuckin' Shack in Naperville was trash and for some reason Pappadeaux doesn't have one that I can get anytime. Boston's poor boy was huge with jumbo pieces of shrimp and fried oysters. It's a lot bigger when you see it in person. It was delicious and filling. Their version of fish and chips was different from the typical ones you mostly see. Boston's was not overly fried, flaky fish inside, and moist. None of the food we ordered was bland. Prices can be expensive depending on what you get. No matter what you get, you can count on having massive portions. Btw Aleks is a great server if you get her.

Yelp
Huge portions, decent value, but under seasoned. I used to love Boston Fish Market, was great for portions and value. But the prices have definitely crept up. Still good value since the portions are huge, but I think the seasoning could use some work. Had the fisherman's platter which was an assortment of fried fish, smelt, perch, walleye and tonnes of fries. But the problem was that the fish was under seasoned (no salt). The lemons helped a little a long with the sauce, but I feel it could have used more seasoning. Frankly not the worst thing (lower sodium), but with fried food, the right salt is essential. Had a good amount leftover and it crisped really nicely in the air fryer. I'll still come back for a special seafood experience but the aura of the Boston Fish is waning for me.

Yelp
Boston Fish Market has always been a favorite of ours, known for its quick service and lively, bustling atmosphere. The fast-paced energy and vibrant noise levels create a fun, welcoming vibe that we've come to enjoy over the years. Unfortunately, our recent visit was far from satisfying. While the service remained efficient, the food quality has declined. This was once a spot we frequented often for fresh, flavorful dishes, but our last experience left us disappointed. The food didn't sit well with us, both in taste and in how we felt afterward. It's disheartening to see a once-beloved restaurant take a negative turn for us. While we've had many good meals here in the past, this experience has changed for us.

Yelp
We had dinner reservations at 5:30pm Saturday night. We were seated right away and were served garlic bread and water before even ordering. Even though they were busy, they didn't rush us while half of your table was running behind due to traffic. Amongst 4 of us, we ordered a Quart size Boston clam chowder, fisherman's platter, and fried calamari to share. The food was plentiful and we enjoyed our meal. Their seating is divided into closed patio area and market seating. With the lighting in closed area, it created a good vibe but not too formal. Will be back but must be larger party to try a variety.

Yelp
It has been awhile since I have last been here. We ordered the grilled calamari meal, scallop spaghetti and the fried great lakes platter. The portions are as I remember, huge and plenty to feed a hungry crowd. The grilled calamari was delicious- perfectly cooked and seasoned, there was not a bite leftover. The scallop spaghetti was also good, with 4 huge scallops that were perfectly cooked and the pasta sauce had a nice flavor to it not just your standard red sauce. The fried great lakes platter was ginormous! Lots of big pieces of fish and lots of little fried smelts as well. Underneath all the large fish pieces were smelts and not just filled with fries. The fried fish while large definitely needed to be eaten with the tartar sauce that it came with. The fish lacked seasoning to eat on its own plain. Overall a great time at Boston Fish, the side of the restaurant now is above the just tent and seems more built in and permanent. The service is still superb as well.

Yelp
I love seafood and I had fond memory of this place - Good and huge portion of seafood, so I always wanted to visit again. But recent visit experience was mediocre at best. Food is still decent, but service was not what I would expect for restaurant at this price point. Not like I am expecting michelin 3 star, but I would expect a better than "throwing-food-at-your-table" type of fast and speedy service. Felt like that some hole in the wall joints would have friendlier service than what we had today.

Yelp
Boston Fish Market delivers, YET AGAIN! Where do I even begin with my review? I've been coming to Boston Fish Market for YEARS now - and every time I've had a meal here - whether on my own or with my family - it has been absolutely fresh, delicious, and a wonderful foodie experience. It's time I finally write a review on one of my all-time favorite seafood spots in the Chicagoland area. This place is a GEM! I live a-ways-away-nowadays, but anytime I am in town, my dad will suggest swinging by Boston Fish Market and my family's answer is always a RESOUNDING yes. Whether it be their fried fish specials, salads, appetizers, or their dinner platters, anything you order is guaranteed to be good. Ever since the latest remodel, the dining experience has been incredible! I love that the outdoor patio has a retractable roof - so that we can get the outside-dining experience on beautiful-weathered days and to stay cozy on treacherously cold winter days. No matter the weather, the ambiance here is always comfortable! The service is always exceptional as well. Staff members are so polite, attentive, quick, and contribute to an overall wonderful dining experience! The following are the menu items which I've had, all of which I rate a 10/10 on freshness and flavor: Fried Alaskan Cod: This is one of the first menu items I have ever tried and it is CONSISTENTLY delicious. You can't go wrong with a perfectly fried piece of cod, that is flaky, tender, and delicious. Squeeze with a spritz of lemon and a dollop of tartar sauce and you'll be in HEAVEN! Fried Lake Superior Whitefish: I ordered this the last time I went and was supremely satisfied with the texture of the fish and the flavor. This is certainly something I'll be ordering again. Fried Alaskan Cod Fish Sandwich: When I don't feel like having the fried cod stand-alone, the cod fish sandwich is an excellent alternative! There's nothing like a fried fish sandwich with a bed of crispy and yummy fries.. I'm getting hungry just thinking about this. Swordfish Dinner: This was the first meal I had where I experienced swordfish and MY GOODNESS WAS THIS GOOD. Perfectly grilled, so tasty, and addicting. This is a dish I love sharing with another person - as the portions are large. I'm not the biggest fan of the rice and veggies on the side, but I don't mind. The swordfish is the main start anyways! Fried Calamari: Crispy, fresh, and perfectly cooked! Add a fresh spritz of lemon, dip in the sauce, and you've got yourself a wonderful appetizer! I don't order this often, but have enjoyed it the handful of times I had it. Chef Louie's Charbroiled Alaskan Salmon Salad: This is my sister's favorite menu item to order and it is a LOADED salad! So beautifully loaded with all sorts of yummy accoutrements; feta cheese, olives, hardboiled eggs, artichokes, pepperoncini.. what's not to love about a well-dressed salad with a heaping of freshly charbroiled salmon on top? Also, the garlic-parmesan bread that's brought out at the beginning of the meal is always so warm and delightful to munch on. Overall, I highly recommend Boston Fish Market to all folks that are within driving distance or just passing through the area. It is more than likely you'll have an exceptional foodie & dining experience. Cheers and here's to the good life through good eats!

Yelp
needs better service. reservations are meaningless there. I did not enjoy the food because of the disorganized service and seating.

Yelp
Great good , Great atmosphere. My friends brought me here for my bday. My first time. Absolutely loved it. Our waiter Maro was excellent. We celebrated my bday. It was amazing

Yelp
We came in on Friday around 6:30 and it was fairly busy. I didn't like how the tables were so close to each other. It was hard getting in and out. Also the parking was odd. There were like 6 spots in the front and then I had to park by Aldi. Wasn't sure if that was normal or not. We had the quart size clam chowder for the table. It was good, nothing amazing. Just a good starter. We also grabbed a dozen of shucked oysters. The first one I had tasted like it was close to going bad, not terrible but could have been used to make something else lol hard to tell with seafood though. The rest of them were fine. My husband had the shrimp scampi because he couldn't remember which pasta he liked from there. The garlicky noodles were great and the shrimp were huge. I had their special Mediterranean seafood orzo. The orzo flavors were so good! It was so well flavored. Each bite was full of it, though I felt like it was a little too over cooked for me. And there were so much large pieces of seafood too.

Yelp
A colleague brought me here on the fly and I didn't know what to expect. He explained to me the whole operation so I knew I was in for a treat. I was NOT wrong. What a charming environment. Very understated which is always a great sign that they focus on food and service. Little did I know how right that was. We shared the calamari which was the best I've ever had. My colleague loved the Cajun grouper and I scarfed down every bite of the Parmesan Horseradish Encrusted Halibut (lame picture included). Even the garlic toast and sides (rice/veg/potatoes) were unique and delicious. Hoping to be back in a couple months when I return to Chicago.

Yelp
Have always loved coming here for a bite to eat and also to pick up fish for at home. Quality is the best. However; I'm done. Was just there to pick up swordfish for home. Unbelievable, I was charged an extra 3% for using a credit card. The $19.95 a pound isn't enough. I'm out.

Yelp
Overall, Boston Fish Market is great but you have to know that it's quite expensive. Be prepared to pay some good money. While I did find it to be too pricey, you get A LOT of food. You can see by the pictures how much you actually get. The seafood was nicely seasoned and everything was very fresh. Seafood doesn't always reheat well so cold hungry so if you have leftovers then it's what reheats well. The location isn't very big and they put a lot of tables very close to each other. The servers are professional but appear very tired. All in all, I have no reason to not return again but need to make sure it's in the budget.

Yelp
I came here with family for an early dinner on a Saturday evening. We had a reservation but the guy who seated us didn't ask. It was already pretty busy when we arrived at 5:30 PM. About 15 minutes after we were seated there was a line that went out the door. We were seated in the main dining room which is comprised of shared tables. I had the George's banks scallops which came with a side of rice and grilled veggies. Hubby had the fried lake Erie perch sandwich which came with a side of fries and coleslaw. My mom had a clam chowder soup and a lobster roll while my dad had the shrimp scampi pasta (garlic and wine sauce served with colossal shrimp in fresh homemade spaghetti). All of our dishes were huge. My dish had 6 gigantic scallops that were melt in your mouth and the side of veggies/rice was plentiful. However, I wish it wasn't so oily. My toddler mostly ate the complimentary garlic bread and claimed my mom's clam chowder. My dad normally doesn't eat a whole lot but devoured his shrimp scampi pasta since he enjoyed it so much. Overall, the food was good but the atmosphere was a bit chaotic since the restaurant was busy. However, the other connecting eating area looked nicer.

Yelp
We went for an early dinner before our concert at the Des Plaines Theater. What a great choice it was. We sat in the enclosed glass patio area. The staff was wonderful! They were helped us deciding on what drinks we should get and what we should try as well. We had couple of rounds of the spicy margaritas. It was good and not overly sweet. We decided not to do appetizers because of the large portions we saw on other patrons tables. All the seafood was delicious and super fresh! My favorite by far was the halibut oscar. Thick piece of fish with a mound of crab meat. Don't get me wrong the other dishes we ordered were fantastic, but the best dish was the Halibut.
google avatar

Nadine S.

Yelp
A definite must try if you're in the neighborhood . This time wasn't a win for me, the shrimp wasn't the freshest and didn't feel to great the next day. Wish I had spoken up at the time. The server was very helpful, and friendly

Yelp
Wow!! My husband and I celebrated my birthday at the Boston Fish Market in DesPlaines. We ate in the atrium or "greenhouse" as I love to call it. We ordered a Caesar's Salad. dandelions (yep! I'm Italian and my Nana used to make them for me...yum!) , charbroiled cod, Florentine salmon, and cuppacino and cannoli cake!! What a feast!! Portions are so generous that your veggies are served on a separate plate! Everything was delicious and the service was with a smile. We are Southwestsiders and I would make the trip to DesPlaines anytime to enjoy the wonderful meals at the Boston Fish Market!!

Yelp
The Lobster Roll is so Good! Must make mention the best place to purchase fresh seafood to take and make at home.

Yelp
Boston Fish Market in Illinois is unreal--words cannot fully capture how delicious the food is and how generous the portions are. The quality of the food is unparalleled, as good as it gets. Imagine a 50,000 sq. ft. warehouse that supplies seafood to all the top restaurants in the city deciding to open a small grilling area at the back. That, ladies and gentlemen, is this restaurant. Picture just a few hundred square feet of ceiling area, a 50 sq. ft. grill, and part of the warehouse, where the fish is grilled to perfection. The portions are ten times what you'd expect. The oysters are enormous--typically a few inches in diameter, but here, they can be up to seven inches! If you want octopus, they'll get you a fresh one, throw it on the grill right in front of you, and cook it to your preference--grilled, barbecued, sautéed, boiled, or steamed. It's incredible to watch your food being prepared straight from the ice, right in front of you. I highly recommend this place. Every single piece of food I've had here has been amazing. I tried the Reno, and it was fantastic. The seafood gumbo, a delightful mix of fries and seafood pieces, is amazing as well. The grouper sandwich--a piece of fried grouper between two pieces of bread with some sauce--is out of this world. If you ask me, there's just too much food, but that's a good problem to have. I absolutely loved every bite. Boston Fish Market is a must-visit for any seafood lover! The service is quick and amazing as well

Yelp
Service - server was VERY ATTENTIVE! Offered up ideas to select from, offered most popular, they have about 3 menus. Regular one / drinks & specials Food -- Omg they never miss!!! Buttery sweet lobster roll! Fries perfectly seasoned - soft inside and a crunch, doused in a sweet /salt flavor. Supporting: tomatoes, onions, a bit of lettuce & olives (loved this addition! Coleslaw was great. A surprise winner is their tartar sauce , reduced to 'just tartar sauce' but it's so much better, house made but worthy of bottling! If anyone can dupe it share with me! Also got the jumbo shrimp--- massive! So tasty

Yelp
I normally do not write reviews but feel compelled that any prospective visitor needs to know about my experience. We came to this location to celebrate my mom's birthday dinner and booked an online reservation. I visited once before, and thought it would be a nice place to take her too. I had a pleasant time the first time around. However, this experience was incredibly disappointing, particularly in the way we were treated. With a reservation already booked, we expected to be seated in the greenhouse area. Instead, we were seated near the fish counter and despite requesting to have a table in the greenhouse, we were declined about this request. In fact, it was the manager who said this to me, and that it would be "difficult to seat a party of 3". My mom was not happy about this situation and almost wanted to leave. I asked to be seated in the greenhouse again and mentioned to him that it was her birthday. He said the wait would be a long time. We said that was fine. When we were seated in the greenhouse, several tables looked open. How can that be when he just told us we would have to wait a long time for seat in the greenhouse? It is just disappointing that I decided to take my mom here to celebrate her birthday and to have received such poor service. It also felt discriminatory as I do not think others had this issue. After we had our meal, there was nothing done to help us feel better about the situation. We were not offered a cake or dessert for her birthday. Just overall a disappointment and am not sure I will return. I wanted to give this review as a caution to any who may want to celebrate a special event and especially if you are a minority, be aware.

Yelp
Food and service is amazing. We had the mussels in white wine and the red snapper plate. Wasn't expecting so much food for the price! Will be back again.

Rick F.

Yelp
Ordered a grilled calamari salad, which I was told was a Greek salad with calamari To my surprise, I had three Greek olives and two pieces of feta cheese for $35 salad .... Small dressing. Not worth the money!!!

Alex C.

Yelp
It's very expensive and the food seemed greasy even for seafood. Large portions. We are not in a hurry to go back.
google avatar

Morris N.

Yelp
This place was better pre-COVID. Now it's ridiculously overpriced even if you do account for inflation. $100 for cioppino or $85 for one king crab leg are some of examples of price gouging. Those are ridiculous prices. They still give you starter garlic bread however it was hard and greasy. The fried shrimp was too salty. The lobster roll was just a piece of lobster tail thrown in some bread. The server was slow and not very attentive and it wasn't very busy at all for a Friday night. The parking lot is way too small for the restaurant capacity so you have go park in the Aldi parking lot across the street. There are better options in the area that won't cost an arm and a leg.
google avatar

Lefai K.

Yelp
It's been quite a bit of time since the last time I came here. Not much has changed. This place definitely still gets busy, so if the 8-car parking lot is full, there's some street parking, or park in the parking lot across the street. Honestly, I don't know if it's legit parking.c or your car gets towed, so use at your own discretion. Although the inside remains the same, you do get to order at a table, after being seated. Before, you would order at counter first. Four slices of homemade garlic bread greeted and satiated our palate before the main course. We ordered the Seafood Gumbo to share. It had Red snapper, grouper, grilled octopus, shrimp and crawfish, on some wild rice. It said it included homemade roasted vegetables, which I didn't really quite notice. The dish was humongous. The two of us didn't finish it and had to take it togo. Interesting. I looked at my previous Yelp review from 8-yrs ago, and noticed I mentioned the food wasn't seasoned well. This time around, the dish was so so salty. But the fish itself lacked flavor, the sauce made up for it in seasoning. Sadly, not my favorite. The service was great. We were checked up on numerous of times, our water glasses were never empty, and the food came out super fast. Bathroom review: located where I remembered, the bathrooms are single person bathrooms. Lock the door and pick a urinal. There was a sink and toilet there as well. Surprisingly clean. I don't know. Every time I think of seafood and grocery stores, I think of boat bathrooms and they are so so bad. Not the case here. Sit or squat? Sit!

Yelp
I went with a group to celebrate my brother's birthday at Boston Fish Market, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The restaurant's location has a parking lot, and additional parking is available across the street. The staff indeed went above and beyond to make our celebration memorable--they took the time to explain the menu thoroughly. The restaurant was pretty empty, and the staff was warm and friendly. The Fried Great Lakes Fish Platter (Whitefish, Smelts, Lake Perch, and Walleye) was enormous. Two or three people could easily share this platter. Everything tasted fresh and did not disappoint. Boston Fish Market is the place to be if you're looking for a seafood feast in a welcoming family setting. You have to try this place at least once.

Yelp
I had not been here for about 3 years. They have built an outdoor area. It use to be a tent and a lot of heating lamps. Nice structure now. There was no waiting and a lot of seating indoor. The staff was very quick and attentive. They now offer full bar service. If it's not on the menu they will still make your drink so don't be afraid to ask! Food did not disappoint. They as great as they had been in the past. Portions are large, you could really be shared. Complimentary garlic bread is provided and delicious, we asked for seconds and it was not problem. Their soda is served on shaved ice! Too many suggestions to try but I love their Cod.

Yelp
Been wanting to come here for a while, and so glad we finally did! Excellent seafood and huge portions. My husband very much enjoyed his lobster tail, and the scallops were buttery and savory. We also got the saganaki and skordalia, which were very good as well. Service was prompt. Only issue is the small parking lot, which was packed when we got there. If you're looking for a good seafood place, this needs to be on your list to try!

Yelp
I brought my mom here for an early Mother's Day dinner. It was very busy. The vibe of the restaurant inside is extremely casual with tables connected and parties sitting next to each other -- like in a school lunch room. They tried to sit us here, even though we had a reservation, but we declined and asked for a table. So, they brought us back to their covered patio which was a bit more "formal". There are individual tables on the covered patio but they are still close together, so anticipate servers and other guests bumping into you. The bread they gave us was cold and tasteless. My mom had the clam chowder and lobster tail, which she did not like because she said the chowder tasted watery and the lobster lacked flavor. I had the lobster roll, which was surprisingly pretty good, but nothing special. Our server was nice but the service was super slow. It would take him 10-15min to get us drinks or condiments we'd requested. And after we got our food we didn't see him again. Eventually we had to flag him down in order to get our bill. Overall, I wouldn't eat here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The service is slow, the ambiance isn't that great and it's overpriced. I probably would've done better taking Mom to Red Lobster.

Yelp
My bf and I went to visit this place twice and absolutely loved everything about this place! They have fresh seafood and portions are huge! Nice and friendly staff :)

Cyndy O.

Yelp
The service was great. A really nice waiter. The oysters were very good. The restaurant in whole has gone done hill. Use to be my favorite- but the clam chowder was not great, cold and too much flour. My lobster tail was a real disappointment. Overcooked and tough.. HOPE it gets back to where it was as the best seafood house around very soon.

Dave S.

Yelp
Had the Halibut Vesuvio. Just a note that this is some kind of red sauce actually. Halibut was tough, probably ended up boiled, overcooked in the sauce with some veggies, (notably asparagus) still hard. Noted the restaurant charges a fee of 3% on the bill for using my VISA. Don't remember that as I've been there several times before. This isn't fair of course given the cost of the entrees and the house pays a smaller percentage to VISA with them pocketing the difference. Why do this cheap thing to your customers?
google avatar

Ruby Q.

Yelp
This restaurant makes no sense. Ridiculously large portions. The prices are ridiculously high - like a 5 star downtown restaurant. Freshest top quality seafood. The restaurant seemed like an afterthought from a seafood distribution business. It is in what looks like a greenhouse adjacent to the building. The tables are outdoor patio furniture. There are too many tables crammed into the space. Mostly large rounds which seat 6 people, but again they had way too many tables so they only had 4 chairs at each.

Dianne R.

Yelp
Really disappointed. This restaurant was our family and friends favorite restaurant. We went on a week night recently. The waiter brought us the toasted bread it was as hard as a rock. The second batch was just as bad, sitting out to long. The portions use to be huge, not anymore. They changed the mixed vegetable plate to a small plate of green beans and rice. For desert they had pumpkin pie that came from Costco. The entree was also smaller. Hopefully the Wheeling branch is still good.

Yelp
The food is fresh and cooked to perfection!!! If you want fresh seafood, this is the place. I drove an hour to dine here.

Yelp
Just moved back to the area after 8 years and wanted to see if the food was still good and whether the prices were still suspicious?! There's a new outdoor tented area so they slightly expanded and it's actually cleaner and nicer. Now for the food which was a solid 3.5 stars. The prices are 3 stars as they are still suspicious. The clam chowder and complimentary toasted bread made the experience 4 stars. The service was good but could be better. The raw oysters and the baked clams were tasty. The wild salmon was too dry despite having sauce on top. The fried calamari and fries were too oily but should have kept my expectations low. Definitely will be back, but only for the chowder, bread, and only take out.

Yelp
WARNING do not eat from here their food Tast like Shit, so my gust told me since they eat at the restaurant, I could not eat their food due to me having allergies. Service was poor the waiters are rude so is the manager and owner. I am allergic to certain vegetables I looked on their menu, they did not say they cook their food with peppers, and they add peppers to 90% of the seafood and their other items on the menu. Make sure to tell them you have allergies, or they will not give refunds due to this I had my day ruined The Ambiance was dull the restaurant was dirty and some of the seafood looked broken would not recommend anyone to eat here if you want to live. PS My Gust have Deariah since they came home from the restaurant. Rating Negative -10/10

Yelp
Amazing food. Great ambience Server was the only sour point. When I asked to describe the size of the salads he said one is bigger than the other. Also when I asked about the market specials, he stated it was just different than the original menu.

Yelp
Been here twice already. By the second time, we perfected what to order. Portions are large and are all pretty much family style, except for the fish. Maybe one person can eat that and even that, it's a lot. On my second visit, we were 10 people and we each paid $55/person. I'll tell you what we ordered. Seafood gumbo (a must) Char broiled Halibut fish (very good) Fisherman's platter (didn't really like it) Cioppino (Yummm) Steamed mussels marinara (if you like mussels) Fried Shrimp & Calamari (my personal favorite) Chilean sea-bass (good) Char broiled mahi mahi (good) Branzino (a must try) I love the outdoor seating and overall service is great. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I just had lunch at Boston Fish Market this past Saturday. The food was good, I had a Shrimp Poor Boy and was able to substitute the oysters for more shrimp. The servings on the larger side, so you can split a meal. My friend had the fish & chips which were much tastier than my fish & chips, now I know what to get the next time we visit. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. The ambiance was great, it wasn't loud or quiet, it was just right.

Yelp
Group of us came here for a late lunch! We're there around 1pm, which was a perfect time, it was not so busy and the service was great! We had the clam chowder (not much clam at all) very disappointed! Then we order the Fisherman's Platter (it was huge and really good) now for this platter I would give it a four star! We also had the Greek salad and fried Shrimp (the salad was large enough to share and the fried shrimp was a little over fried)! The prices are really high now! The platter was $80!

Yelp
Great food! Boston Fish Market is one of my top 5 favorite places to eat! I recommend getting one of their salads! My favorite is the Chef Louie Octopus Salad. I love the feta cheese and egg they add to the salad, and the octopus is always so tender. The portions are ginormous. It may get a bit pricey, but I personally think the serving sizes make up for it. A way different vibe than the Wheeling location. This is way more laid back. I've never had a problem with service here. Absolutely love their food and will continue to come back!

Yelp
It's a low key spot at the end of street. During some days it's busier than others, this is by second time here for just a family outing and honestly don't get the hype. Inside the actual building you can buy fish and yes it's all the fresh so I understand why it could be a bit expensive but not crazy which is what I had learned. Seating, you basically have to get a waiters attention that you want to dine and get seated. Otherwise your standing and looking around for no reason. Small Greek Salad $16.99; Good to split between a group which is why we got it, I'll let the price slide since it was split between people. Flavors were there, good dressing, feta, and other inclusions. Brozini Whole Fish $29.99 (comes with rice and etc as shown in pictures); Fish wasn't baked too well at least in our opinion, was a bit watery on the inside. Flavor wasn't anything crazy just a couple herbs and a lemon. Not worth the price Fish and Chips $27.99 ; Bland, no actual flavor within the fish or batter it's just like your eating straight up batter with the fish. Fries weren't too good and tartar sauce wasn't anything crazy, definitely like the typical tartar sauce flavor better. Not worth $27.99 Fried Calamari $27.99 (1lb.); This was to share between two people so it wasn't bad but still pricey. Bottom was filled with fries while top had calamari. Calamari by itself was okay not much flavor but if you dipped it in cocktail sauce or had it with lemon then yea it made it better. Probably won't be back, prices are too high for the food you get but I'd say if you want to try this place be my guest this was just our second experience but probably a once a year spot.

Yelp
Crab and shrimp salad was great, and the softshell crab sandwich was okay. There was a hair in the salad, and the waiter was apologetic and offered to send it back. We declined, and afterwards, he gave us a slice of cake. Overall, good food, good seating, and it would be a casual go-to spot if we lived closer.

Yelp
Delicious food, friendly staff, and generous portions. Truly surprised me on how big the dishes were for seafood. The seafood was fresh and well seasoned. I highly recommend the Zuppa Di Mare or any pasta dish they offer. The restaurant has a casual ambiance with both outdoor (weather and season permitted) and indoor seating.

Yelp
It has been my second time, and the food was good. The server was very accommodating and made sure we were ok. It was rather kind of chilly on the covered patio? The temperature outside was in its 40s. I guess because it was not yet full. The only disappointment was the marinara sauce for the calamari. It was frozen. I didn't really realize it, and so did my friends until later part of our dinner since I am not really not into Marinara, and so were they. I think it's rude to serve frozen sauce? I understand it's pre made, but it should have at least been taken out early on before opening. Otherwise, the meal was ok. Seafood is expensive so their prices are reasonable, I think ? They do have big servings, and it can be shareable if you are not a big eater.

Yelp
If you're a seafood lover this place will take your breath away. Every order is freshly made. They've remodeled the dining area and now have a full service bar. The wait staff is still nothing less than top quality. I extremely advise you all to get down here and treat yourself good.

Yelp
Hello foodies and friends with cooties, This review is a courtesy 3 star review as my visited on mothers day weekend so I'm taking into account that the lines weren't always as long as they were. But, I could be wrong. Staff was really nice. However the food wasn't seasoned and I think its because of the senior patrons that are attracted to this establishment. Serving sizes are generous. Pricing was great as I expected to pay a lot more. The glass house section of the restaurant is okay but nothing to marvel at. From an exterior perspective, there's an Aldi's across the street so yeah, there you go as it relates to views. My final verdict, give them a shot as all tastebuds are not created equal.
