The 29 Best Restaurants In The Hamptons 2024

"This isn’t our favorite restaurant out East, but it’s the one that we wind up going to the most (thanks for being open on Mondays, Bostwick’s). The diner-style seafood restaurant is the perfect spot to visit when you can’t decide where else to go, or just don’t have the energy to cook for yourself. It’s quick, it’s casual, and the seafood-heavy menu has a lot of solid options—there’s something fried, grilled, or on a bun for everyone. Our top picks: the hot lobster roll, the seared tuna, and burrito-sized fish tacos. There’s also a second location in Three Mile Harbor (north of East Hampton town) called Bostwick’s On The Harbor with great views, though the menu is a bit more upscale—think yellowfin tuna poke—and most enjoyable during sunset." - melissa kravitz hoeffner, team infatuation

The 10 Best Lobster Rolls In The Hamptons

"The most consistent, the most centrally located, and the most accessible, Bostwick’s lobster roll is the consummate crowd-pleaser. On the roll, the lobster salad is finely chopped, with just the right amount of mayo and celery, and served on a toasted dog bun along with fries or slaw. If you’re more of a hot butter lobster fan, they have that too. You should also always order a side of clam chowder or lobster bisque for some fry-dipping action. Sit in the nautical-style diner or outside on the pebbled patio under big umbrellas for much-needed shade. " - melissa kravitz hoeffner, team infatuation

Local hot spot. A little wait is worth it. Great little dive bar, excellent food and the fries were some of the best out there. Kids menu was perfect as well.

Google
Cozy and busy no frills spot on the east end. Incredibly friendly staff, outstanding food, great portions, you definitely get your moneys worth. Be prepared for a little bit of a wait if you go during lunch or dinner, but it’s worth it! The staff here deserves a special shout out as they made us feel welcomed and comfortable through our. Get the clams!

Google
Great food and service in this little place. Had the clam chowder and the soft crab po' boy that was on lunch special. The soup was hot and full of flavor good size for an appetizer. The lunch special was a soft crab po'boy the sandwich size was a very nice portion the crab was fried with just enough breading and was so soft. Price is very reasonable for the quality of food.

Google
Excellent hot lobster rolls, imo better than that other famous lobster rolls place. Steamed lobster was cooked perfect. Arugula salad with crab cake also excellent. Could be crowded , line etc, but worth it.

Google
THE BEST BAKED STUFFED CLAMS IN NY. I’m on the verge of claiming they’re the best in the world. Everything was delicious, I will be dreaming of everything I’ve tried and everything I want to try for the next few days. This will 100% be my new go to spot for this Summer and probably the next dozen ones too! I cant even begin to describe all the other food I’ve tried here, this was probably one of the best meals I’ve had. We ordered the Kids Fish and Chips due to the amount of food we got, but I’d definitely go for the full portion next time. They melt in your mouth. I’m also planning on doubling up on those clams!! The Lobster Roll is without question getting ordered each and every time. Oh, and the drinks, dessert and service were a 100/10.

I love Bostwick’s! So glad my hubby and I made it during their last weekend of the season on Friday November 8th! Since they don’t take reservation we got fortunate and found two seats at the bar. The atmosphere was obviously crowded but it’s not overwhelming to us so we got to enjoy it! The menu has many options but we wanted to feast on some seafood and keep it simple. The waiter in bar area was extremely attentive and friendly and the food was absolutely tasty and we had some leftovers which were just as delicious the next day. The restroom was also clean and overall we had a great experience! Can’t wait to be back in May 2025! 🥳

Google
It’s Spring and Bostwick’s Chowder House is open for the season!!! Indoor and outdoor dining, friendly staff, fantastic food! Guarantee that you’ll love the lobster bisque, clam chowders, lobster fritters, and fish tacos. But, that’s just a start! Check out the menu.

Google
Loved this place! Lively, busy and family friendly restaurant. Excellent seafood including lobster, lobster rolls, clam Chowder, baked clams, fish tacos and crab cakes. The food was amazing. The lobster roll particularly was super-filled and delicious. Also great drinks and service.

Yelp
Okay, there is a lot of things I really like about this place: a. The food has healthy portions of Lobster - like double to triple what you would expect b. The staff is lovely friendly, and super thoughtful c. Feels like neighborhood cook out vibe - very appropriate Why it didn't get 5 stars: - This place is always crazy packed, with not enough parking and 1 to 2 hour waits. Oh and they don't take reservations Good for: 1. Lobster lovers 2. Small group trips 3. People who don't mind waiting 1 to 2 hours for good food 4. Pretty good prices for Hamptons (still sticker shock) Bad for: 1. Break ups - you will be waiting a while 2. Kids 3. People who like fancy lobster

Kristianne A.

Yelp
First time here and turned out goood! If you're looking for good lobster bisque, hot buttered lobster rolls in the Hamptons then definitely try this place. Their fries were great too!
google avatar

Yasmine G.

Yelp
Delicious lobster roll and tuna poke, super fresh. Our waitress was friendly and service was great even though they were packed. Overall ambiance was nice too, we were seated by the windows. Would come back if I'm in the area again.

Yelp
Bostwick's gets a solid 4 because of their awesome hearty lobster bisque and corn chowder. Both extremely flavorful and satisfying on a cool October Saturday. We also ordered some fried oysters and a side of potato salad. While good the remoulade was the stand out and brought the oysters into the party. The roasted corn salsa was missing for the most part on our plate. The potato salad was nice, dill-icious and not too heavy. Service was pretty good and quick. I will say that afternoon I was not prepared for how cold I was about to be while eating our lunch. Will I be back? Sure to pick up the bisque and chowder to bring home. Another oddish thing for a decent size restaurant I believe they only have one private restroom. So when nature calls I sure hope you're not standing in line forever.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch with friends on a trip. We were a big group and it was a Saturday, so we had to wait awhile as expected but this was totally fine. We were seated outside at 1 large table which we appreciated rather than being split up. We got several items and I'll give a short description on each. Cold lobster roll - my personal favorite. I prefer cold ones over hot. It wasn't as big as I expected it to be, but it was still a decent size and a fair amount of lobster meat with large chunks. Comes with a side and I got cole slaw, which I didn't love that much but it wasn't bad either. Wish I got fries or potato salad instead. Hot lobster roll - those who got it, really liked it but noted that it looked like the cold ones might've had more meat. Fried clam strips - fine, but not amazing. Calamari - really good and fried nicely, not too oily. Raw oysters - good, pretty average but not bad. New England clam chowder - really good, but could be thicker. Wasn't watery though, I just like a thicker chowder but good amount of celery, clams, and potatoes. Comes with a packet of oyster crackers too. Lobster bisque - nice portion of lobster bits and solid. I preferred the clam chowder when doing side by side comparison. Mixed greens salad - average, typical green salad. Arugula salad - favorite among the table and especially if you like blue cheese! Shrimp cocktail - refreshing and good, but not amazing. Seafood pasta - really generous portion and lots of seafood. A good option if you don't want a sandwich or fried food. Service was great and we enjoyed the meal. Parking lot is small and can be confusing. Overall, table favorites were probably oysters, lobster rolls, arugula salad, and the chowder/bisque. A nice stop if you're in the area for sure!

Yelp
We honeymooned in Montauk and this came as a highly recommended spot for us to visit during our trip. We were able to be seated right away when we walked in because we sat at the bar which was great! We were served water right away and our waiter was so nice. I ordered the poke and my husband ordered a lobster roll. I love the casual neighborhood vibe Bostwick's has. We could overhear the bartender talking to several gentlemen that clearly were frequent customers. Our food was great! They have a patio outside which is always full so if you're wanting to sit outside, I recommend getting there early to get your name in. I would totally come back here and so happy we went!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch on our way to Montauk. Great location, decor and ambiance. Ordered lobster rolls, softshell crab sandwich and clam chowder. All delicious and portion generous. Will definitely be our go to if in the area again.

Yelp
I loved everything I got here. I started with a Bloody Mary. It was a really good Bloody Mary. All their drinks I tried were really good. It was seasoned perfectly and had a nice spice to it. Then we got an order of the oysters. The oysters were small, but they were still really good. I would get them again. I got the lobster roll and it was so good. There was a lot of lobsters in the roll. The lobsters were buttery and tender. The meat was sweet with the buttery bun. I loved the clam chowder, but I felt like there was not enough seafood in it. All in all, a great spot to stop by to get a lobster roll.
google avatar

Sam H.

Yelp
Love this spot as it's always a go to when we're out east. Prices are high but it's not a surprise when you're taking into account where you're at. The lobster rolls are filled generously with lobster and baked clams are absolutely delicious. Service is always friendly. Get there early before the lunch rush hour especially during the summer time!

Yelp
Mussels are amazing! Great service! Was not a fan of the clam chowder - was a little on the bland side.

Yelp
Bostwick's Chowder House is a great spot. Service is solid. The chowders are awesome, and the lobster is good as well.

Yelp
Meh. Maybe my expectations for this restaurant were a little too high, as I was a little disappointed in both my meal and the fact that they only use disposable cups & utensils. For the high prices, I didn't expect the fast casual atmosphere and food quality. I was really disturbed about how many disposable cups/utensils were used at this very busy restaurant. It's so bad for our environment! The food was hit or miss for me. Although I didn't think my entree was amazing, I really enjoyed the shared appetizers. Shared Appetizers: - Steamers ($29): these were perfection. They came with clam broth and butter on the side for dipping. Delicious! I wish I ordered this as my main entree. Recommended! - Mussels in Red Sauce ($16.95): these were also delicious. We ate them ALL! - Fried Calamari ($16.95): pretty standard. Good but nothing special. - Buffalo Chix Wings ($13.95): very good. Came with a great blue cheese dipping sauce. My entree: Fluke Milanese ($30.95): I found this dish kind of...boring. it was a very dry fried fluke in a panko crust which had absolutely no seasoning. Bland and boring, but it came with a good arugula salad on top. I can't speak about other's entrees but everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. My 9 yr old niece gave two thumbs up for her salmon teriyaki. Service and hospitality were friendly and efficient. This restaurant is very busy and does NOT accept reservations. Plenty of free parking available.
google avatar

Julia K.

Yelp
$25 for a quart of New England clam chowder is a lot but in the Hampton's, it seems normal. Well, this chowder was anything but normal. It was so rich, chunky from undercooked celery, and had one bite of clams. It was not to be consumed again and I'd like a reason why it was so bad?
google avatar

Jen C.

Yelp
This place is really nice, the ambiance is great with outdoor and indoor seating available. My family stopped by Saturday afternoon at 1pm for lunch and there was a 30min wait. They want your entire party to be present. They are doggy friendly with the outdoor seating. The servers were friendly and quick. The food: clam chowder was delicious, not super thick but just thick enough. Not very salty as some tend to be. The Baja fish and mahi tuna tacos were sooo good. Really large pieces of fish, tasty sauce and some avocado/ cabbage mix. Steamed muscles fra diavlo were really delicious, large mussels, but we had to ask for bread, they didn't just bring it. Fried calamari was meh, I wasn't very impressed as they seemed really small. Oysters were great and very fresh! There is a market next door that sells the baked clams from the restaurant, we got a few of them and they were great to bake up as well.
google avatar

Irina T.

Yelp
Place is very rustic and cozy. Food was amazing. We got fish & chips, Baja fish tacos and my daughter got the flounder special. We all loved it. Was just perfect. Only downside is you can't make reservations and have to wait for a bit and parking is tight.
google avatar

Evelyn M.

Yelp
The food is delicious, a bit pricey but you know this ahead of time. In the peak of summer it can take long to get a table, but if you're in the hamptons definitely try it
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
Such a cute spot. We originally had to wait for a table outside so we took a table indoors. The hostess ended up moving us after a couple minutes because an outdoor table freed up which was very kind of her! The food was good but it was pretty pricey because of location. Lobster roll was alright but we really liked the cheesy crab dip.
google avatar

Jason M.

Yelp
A great spot for good lobster. The service was excellent. Katie took care of us an I have nothing but nice things to say. The Lobster Salad Roll is famous and I can see why after trying it myself. A+ The ambiance is casual with many patrons wearing sandals. Overall rating: A Service rating: A Lobster rating: A

Yelp
Stopped by for Sunday lunch on our way from Montauk. Service was good - didn't blow us out of the water with anything noteworthy, but no complaints either. Vibes are laid back, casual atmosphere, paper serving plates. Exactly what you should find at a roadside chowder house. Drinks are weak - a Tanteo and pineapple cocktail tasted nothing like Tanteo and a whole lot like too much pineapple! But...the chowder is out of this world. We both ordered the Manhattan, which yes is a bit out of the ordinary, but I find you can really tell how a place does chowder by their Manhattan. Without the benefit of creamy goodness, the ingredients really have to do the talking and did they ever! Big chunks of veg and clams, cooked perfectly - and served HOT. When I say hot, this chowder and all the food served came to our table steaming like it came from an oven in the depths of hell. In the very best way. Baked clams were fresh tasting, huge and delish - also hot hot hot. Mussels were great, fresh, though the garlic in the broth wasn't cooked enough and gave an aggressive bite to the broth that could've been a bit smoother. Go for the chowder - eat the rest if you still have room but definitely go for the chowder!
google avatar

Joy Z.

Yelp
Some of the best seafood I've ever had, and definitely the best lobster roll! I would come back to the area just to eat here again. Came here with a group of friends after a beach day + winery and everything we had was perfection - mussels, calamari, New England clam chowder, lobster bisque, and of course the hot lobster roll. The lobster roll is $35 which, although expensive, is standard for the area. It's definitely better tasting than similarly priced lobster rolls in the area. The service was also very friendly! Wonderful way to end a Saturday in the Hamptons.
google avatar

Charles R.

Yelp
This is easily the best lobster roll I have ever had. You can order warm with drawn butter or lobster salad chilled, which I prefer and had. The lobster was so fresh and tasty and perfectly sized, not cheap at all. On a toasted bun with a choice of fries, Mac salad, cole slaw, it was a perfect lunch. We arrived just after 11:30 on a Thursday, and by the time we left, the place was packed. If you plan a weekend, be prepared to wait or get there soon after opening.

Yelp
Food is EXCELLENT, service is DISGUSTINGLY DISRESPECTFUL. We've sat for over 10-15 minutes waiting for ANYONE to come to the table; as they served EVERYONE around us . I finally got someone to come over, when they brought my chowder there was a black hair in it, took it to the bar; they didn't give a flying Fk , not even an apology or a REPLACEMENT SOUP!?? Are you joking? I'm not going to say that they weren't serving me bc of my skin color.... So I won't.... But that's really what it seemed. Service fucking BLOWS Foods good Fuck this place, maybe

Yelp
Passing through East Hampton for the day with a sophisticated crew. Dinner mood said lobster roll, quick online search and serendipity directed us to Bostwick's. Excellent choice. The crowd density confirmed popularity. The five of us were seated at the bar immediately. Cozy regional atmosphere. Family oriented. Numerous choices. Fast and friendly staff with unwavering confidence in helping us narrow options. Lobster rolls - of course, and fresh fried clams with crispy fries. Had to watch out for the interplay between fingers and forks. Nothing lasted too long. I was quite impressed by the freshest of clams. Great service. Great food. Would definitely return.
google avatar

Yelp
Their outside patio is gorgeous and sunny. Enjoyed the raw bar selections as well as clam chowder. Fun atmosphere, reasonable prices for the area.
google avatar

Joe W.

Yelp
One of our favorite spots! Food is great, strongly reccomend the lobster bisque, fried flounder sandwich and of course the lobster roll. Never a bad experience and we go a ton!
google avatar

Karthik S.

Yelp
Yes. Just, yes. Come here. You will love it. Bostwick's has a great neighborhood atmosphere inside, and the outdoor patio space is really lovely as well. The food was spectacular, and I insist I'm not exaggerating. I grew up in New England, and over the years I've been to countless casual seafood restaurants that look like Bostwick's with similar menus, from Maine to New Hampshire to Connecticut to Rhode Island, Cape Cod, New Jersey, Long Island, and everywhere in between. And almost none of them have had food as well-preparer and tasty as Bostwick's. I had the fried fish tacos, which were so, so good. The sweet potato fries were just perfectly done. And the lobster fritters- well, they're unreal. You have to get those if you come here. They're a cross between crab cakes and hush puppies and corn fritters, and they'll haunt your dreams for days afterwards. Bostwick's is so good. Swing by and check it out.
google avatar

Rana K.

Yelp
Found this gem on our day trip to Montauk. Service is excellent. Found is fresh and fabulous. We were a group of 4 and there was a 45 minute wait 2pm on a Saturday. Lucky for us the counter space was available so we didn't have to wait. Drinks were strong. Everything was so good we can't pick a favorite but if we have to choose the fried shrimp is the most amazing fried shrimp you will ever have. Promise!!!

Yelp
Just on a drive with my dad we past this place at 11:20 and noticed a line outside. Thought why not, and hit it up. The place opens at 11:30 and the line moved fast. There were a ton of wasps outside so we asked to sit inside, and then decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was a bit standoff-ish towards us, she had friends come in halfway through our meal and her entire mood went from 50% happy to be there to 100%. For drinks we went with a local LI beer for my dad and a Talkhouse tequila hard seltzer for me. For food, we started with a raw bar sampler (3 clams,3 oysters and 3 shrimp). I only eat oysters so all three were mine, they were cleaned just okay but they had so many shell pieces it was actually insane. We also got a New England Clam Chowder for me and Manhattan Clam Chowder for my dad. I was much more a fan of the New England Clam Chowder. It was delicious! Had a great amount of clams and was just perfectly balanced. For our main we split a crab cake sandwich. The bread was an odd choice, but everything tasted great. Wish it had a bit more of a sear on it but it was tasty. Definitely suggest this place for the chowder, maybe skip on the oysters.
google avatar

Gail B.

Yelp
I ordered the hot lobster roll for take out. It was bland, but the cole slaw was good. The server provided me a sample of the clam and roasted corn chowder. They were both so-so. Nothing compares to chowder made in New England. I lived in Boston as a college student and became spoiled by local restauranteurs, who made savory and clam-full "chowda" from the heart. I wonder how Bostwick's developed a reputation for making good chowda. Nevertheless, I will return here one day to order the cold lobster roll and perhaps the baked clams. This place deserves another chance because the customer service today was outstanding. I like how they spoke to me, and the manager kindly and enthusiastically packed up my order.
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
Bostwick's is one of the most popular casual places to eat near East Hampton. Here are my notes for visitors in season: 1. If it's raining, expect a very long wait for a table (an hour plus) the later you arrive as there are only so many indoor seats even on a weeknight. 5pm is safe. 2. While the food is solid, the prices are relatively high. An appetizer, dinner, dessert and a drink with tax and tip is probably $75. 3. The lobster roll options are hot (Connecticut) and lobster salad. It's not new England style as lobster salad is heavy on mayo and has celery. I had that and enjoyed it more once I added lemon. 4. The new England clam chowder was good but not among the best I've had. With some salt added it was better. It's a solid 4 out of 5. The best part of my recent experience was our server Cameron who fielded many requests and went out of his way to make sure everyone was happy.

Yelp
Was out in East Hampton and checked out Yelp to find this place. Overall great food, better to eat outside as far atmosphere. It's not fancy although you come here for the food and service. They are taking the pandemic seriously and have plastic dividers up in the dining room and the bar area. Everyone was wearing masks, customers and employees were respecting social distancing. They have a great reputation, everything we ate was great. Started with the Manhattan Clam chowder and corn chowder as appetizers. The clam chowder was amongst the best I've had. For the main course had the hot buttered lobster roll which comes with either cole slaw, potato salad, French fries or a veg. This was excellent!! Also had the fish tacos... you get 2 large tacos, plenty of fish probably 8 to 10 oz total. It had a nice flavor topped with salsa. They have a lot of great choices, crab cakes, blackened Cajun fish tacos , lobster tacos, shrimp scampi, seafood pasta, lots of appetizers, clams, salads, and sandwiches. I'm sure you can find something you like. You have to try their deserts! This was the highlight of the meal. We had the home made key lime pie and the homemade chocolate peanut butter pie. Both were AWESOME!! Our waitress Jean was very nice and accommodating. The only slightly negative thing to say was that the utensils, cups and plates were plastic. If you can look past that you will have a great time. I would highly recommend them. The prices are fair especially considering your in the Hampton's.

Yelp
Good food, pricy but good. - I suppose all of the EH's are expensive eats. I didn't have much for the service this time, as I took the order to go; However the hostess and ToGo cashier were very nice. (8/18/23 visit) The place is desired, and most all tables were full. If you have a larger party, someone should go ahead of time to get their name on the list. - but all people will need to be present before they seat you.

Yelp
Bostwick's = heaven is a place on earth. Somewhere you can always expect amazing food and friendly service. Their lobster roll is 10/10. & Yes, it's worth the 30+ minute wait in the summer.

Michelle T.

Yelp
The service is awful. The waitress was completely rude and kept asking us if we were ready and did not help us at all. We did not even get a chance to ask her any questions because she stormed off. We needed help with some ideas from the menu to try. We are visiting from San Diego, we were excited to try east coast seafood. The chowder was watered down , the beer tap was dirty. Terrible.
google avatar

Michelle P.

Yelp
We ordered takeout from here on a Saturday night. The staff were very kind and helpful on the phone. The portions were very big. We had the kids pasta, the seafood pasta, chicken wings and the lobster roll. There was a lot of seafood in the pasta and everything was cooked very well.
google avatar

Aarti G.

Yelp
This place doesn't take any reservations so we had to wait about 25 minutes on a Saturday evening. This was a pretty casual place but the food was really good. One of the specials for the day was soup in a bread bowl, which we shared as an appetizer. We tried the lobster bisque which was nice and creamy and had a good amount of lobster. For my entree, I got fish tacos which were flavorful and cooked well. My only negative on this place was the use of paper plates and plastic utensils which creates a ton of waste and is terrible for the environment. I wish they used real silverware and plates.

Gilbert B.

Yelp
Very fresh sea food in East Hampton. The prices here are fair and the restaurant is always packed in season. Nothing fancy but great seafood and a local pub like ambiance.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
I had a very good meal here yesterday. Not a fancy place, but who cares if the food is good! If you are looking for quality seafood but a casual, easy atmosphere in the Hamptons, this is your place. They are open for outdoor dining or takeout, so you can sit outside or take your food to go. Our lobster rolls were delicious. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Clam chowder and lobster bisque was excellent. Service was great but be prepared to wait as it does get a little busy! Lovely outdoor ambiance too.

Yelp
Everything here is amazing! My family and I always order take out! The restaurant environment is great. We just prefer a more private setting at home.

Yelp
Recently visited with a group of seven. We sat outside on a very warm Thursday in April. The place was very crowded. Service was on point and the people were very friendly. They did a great job with the fish and chips. Softshell crab was amazing as well as the lobster roll. Enjoyed the experience outside - the experience was great. Would recommend without reservation.

Yelp
Very nice quick service. Great food, amazing lobster roll. Fried oysters and fish and chips were good.

Yelp
Beware of this restaurant for extremely poor ownership and unprofessional owner(s). Having good food in a prime loation is NOT always what you should look for when choosing where to dine. Look for those who treat you with respect as you dine at their place of business. Greet you with a smile not berate you. As we have many choices as to where we can eat out, please choose wisely and if you do decide to visit this unprofessional establishment, beware.

Yelp
I visited Bostwicks on my first night in the Hamptons and it didn't disappoint. They easily accommodated our large group and we're super friendly in offering up suggestions. Our table got oysters to share. They were shucked perfectly, no shells. I ordered the 1-1/2 lb lobster as my entree. It came with the claws already cracked so it was really easy to eat. I'd recommend Botswicks to anyone visiting the East Hampton area.

Yelp
Good food in a cute Environment. Generally friendly service. They get very busy and service suffers. Decent seafood in a comfortable setting.

Yelp
I was underwhelmed. Look I get that "it's the Hamptons" but the prices are a little high. Anyway the food is okay, nothing special. They gave us plastic knives and forks.. for gods sake at these prices at least give us proper utensils. My option is that it's more of a scene place and the food is okay but nothing to write home about. I will give them the clam chowder, it was good, both types. Honestly the place is a zoo full of nut job manhattan posers, we witnessed a lot of air kissing.
