Miami’s New Restaurant Openings - Miami - The Infatuation

"Upper East Side’s loss is South Beach’s gain. This Italian sandwich spot moved from a walk-up window on 79th street to a brick and mortar on Ocean Drive. We’ve been to the previous location and will be making the drive to the beach for that n’duja panini. " - Ryan Pfeffer, Virginia Otazo

The Best Things We Ate This Week

"N’duja, Salami, And Mozzarella Panini Alright, so I had two big Italian sandwiches this week and I will not apologize for that - especially because the n’duja, salami, and mozzarella panini from Botta is one heck of a sandwich. You’ll find this place on the west end of 79th Street Causeway, serving out of a little ventanita. They do pizza too, but their paninis make a great quick lunch or a to-go beach snack." - ryan pfeffer, carlos c olaechea

Botta Fine Italian Street Food Review - Upper East Side - Miami - The Infatuation

"Editor's note: Botta has moved to a new location in South Beach. We'll update this review after we've had a chance to visit. Botta is a casual walk-up window where you can get some really good Italian sandwiches, lasagna, or square slices of pizza. We like this place mostly for its sandwiches, especially the prosciutto crudo and n’duja panini - which are both wonderfully constructed with great ratios of meat and cheese. The pizza will do the trick too if it’s late and you’re hungry, but it needs a much crispier crust and some better toppings. photo credit: Cleveland Jennings" - Ryan Pfeffer

Google
Amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious – made with real, high-quality Italian ingredients that you can truly taste. The restaurant itself is charming, with a lovely outdoor seating area that’s perfect for enjoying your meal. Friendly service and great atmosphere. Highly recommended if you’re looking for authentic Italian street food!

Google
Small shop but super cute and the meat is cut fresh here for all your sandwiches and pizza. The spicy salami pizza was fantastic! The owner was awesome too. They also sell top notch olive oils and pasta bags

Google
Customer service was friendly and fast. The homemade lemonades and juices were delicious. I had the crudo sandwich, the bread and meat was fresh, it was filled and worth every penny.

Google
It’s a great place to eat when you’re hungry. They have a variety of sandwich-like options. I tried the “Grilled cheese”. It’s great coming in the morning or from the beach. I highly recommend Botta to grab a good taste of Miami Beach

Google
Great customer service. Very helpful and patient staff. Food was different taste for me but I enjoyed it. Coffee amazing and raspberry lemonade is refreshing. Highly recommended

Google
I ate lunch here everyday. The fresh baked focaccia is amazing. The meats and cheese they use are premium and they literally carve the meat for each sandwich . Every sandwich is made after you order. The pistachio croissant is to die for and I’m sad when they don’t have any. And the owner is charming. Below is the Figata and Veggie Italiano

Sebastian Titze

Google
What a hidden spot! We had the breakfast sandwich, caprese and figata. Everything was very delicious. The bread is crispy and the flavors are so good. Disclaimer: This is an honest review but I do receive a free croissant for leaving the review.

Google
The chocolate croissant was pure bliss — perfectly flaky, buttery, and filled with rich, velvety chocolate. The Margherita pizza was a masterpiece of simplicity, with a crisp crust, vibrant tomato sauce, and creamy mozzarella melting into every bite. A truly unforgettable experience!

Yelp
Damn, I don't want to give they five stars because I want to keep it to myself. But the sandwiches are great and the service is friendly. It's an oasis on uber-touristy Ocean Drive and is worth the trip, even if you have doge a few drunk visitors. Try anything with bread. And anything with mortadella.
google avatar

Kristina N.

Yelp
Truly delicious sandwiches - we got the Miami breakfast sandwich and the prosciutto mozz tomato arugula sandwich. We ordered iced americano and also a pistachio croissant which we are saving as a snack. Nice sit down or to go spot. If you're a fan of mortadella, they have a lot of options too! Would highly recommend especially if you're switching it up from la sandwicherie. Don't sleep on this place!

Yelp
I've heard great things about Botta and wanted to try one of their sandwiches. I ordered the Caprese Lovers for delivery. It comes on panini focaccia and has fresh mozzarella, pesto, tomato and olive oil. I added arugula to the sandwich. It was quite delicious and very fresh. It was a little too oily but still had enjoyable flavors and a really generous portion + price ($11.95). The bread was warm and soft. For dessert I tried the torta de la nonna. It was a pretty tasty dessert. A little overpriced as the slice was $12 but it was a fresh dessert. Definitely a great spot for a tasty sandwich made with fresh ingredients.

Yelp
Absolutely sublime. Best sandwiches in all of Miami Beach. Do yourself and your taste buds a solid and grab a sando at Botta.

Yelp
If you're having a picnic on the beach this is a perfect spot for elevated sandwiches that are still perfect for an outside bite! Service wise the worked were so nice and inviting! Immediately greeted us and quickly took our orders and made our sandwiches. Ambiance wise it's a small shop, but it's so cute and has both inside and outside seating! It also located right next to the beach entrance so it's perfect! Parking is tough, but it's Miami Beach parking is a nightmare at the beach! The sandwiches are a bit on the pricey side but they are very good sizes and full of flavor! The meats taste fresh and you watch them slice them on the spot! The bread is nice and fluffy and so tasty! Overall loved it!

Olivia G.

Yelp
We stumbled into this spot looking for a good sandwich after the beach and it was AWESOME! These are definitely some of the best sandwiches we have had since our trip to Italy.

Maria S.

Yelp
Fresh and good, customer service is excellent! Went there 2 days in a row once for lunch and the next day for a breakfast sandwich!! Doesn't disappoint!! People that work are very nice and friendly.

Yelp
Tried 'the best sandwich in miami', the bread is perfectly crisp, the meat and veggies inside are fresh. Delicious, recommend!

Yelp
I've finally arrived in Miami before my sister's big wedding day. After running all over, the family and I were famished, and we decided to grab lunch at Botta! Going in, there was a decent line of cars, but the wait was surprisingly quick! For lunch, we ordered 1x Granbiscotto (Italian ham with fresh mozzarella) and 1x Spicy salame spread ('Nduja) (salami with fresh mozzarella, olive pate, and Spicy oil). Moving into my review, the sandwhiches were tasty! Each sandwhich on its own had great quality meats, cheese, and fresh bread! My favorite of the sandwhiches was the 'Nduja salame sandwhich which had delicious contrast of spicy, savory, salty, and creamy flavors! The Granbiscotto was a basically an upscale ham and cheese sandwhich which was simple, yet solid. Which leads me to my only critique that the sandwhiches could've used a little bit more of a spread as they were a tad dry inside. Nothing a little bit of mayo or Spicy oil inside couldn't fix. Overall, these sandwhiches were very good! Next time I visit, I'd recommend (myself including) going bold into the foccacia specialities, but till then I'm gonna rate Botta 4/5!
google avatar

Wendy M.

Yelp
They def don't need another great review, but here I am! Sandwiches aren't cheap but they are made with "top" ingredients as they say in Italy. We tried the Newyorkese (spicy deliciousness!) and the Figata which was salty, sweet and perfect. Also saved a little sandwich for later to have room to eat the Torta dela Nonna which was sooooo good. Simply put, it's like a trip to Italy without all that going to the airport part. Very, very good, can't wait to go back and probably order the exact same thing again! Perfetto! Grazie!

Yelp
This place is amazing! Your experience starts from the very famous touristic location where you don't expect good quality food to happen. Nice outdoor sitting. The owners Lorenzo and Edgardo as well as their Italian chef Marco will meet and greet you with a smile and good advice with your order. So, don't worry, Whatever you choose, it will be fantastic! The sandwiches are made with quality Italian ingredients and everything is super fresh and delicious. Figata sandwich is my favorite. The ingredients of the panini and focaccias are extremely high quality and remind you of Italy. The perfect combination of fresh ingredients meticulously layered between bread, creating a perfect balanced sandwich. Most original Italian food we had outside of Italy! Would definitely recommend going there if you are at the beach and need a snack. They also have deli options so you can take it to go. MUST VISIT when on South Beach !!!

Yelp
Good sandwich. Bread was good quality, flavors were well balanced and service was good.

Yelp
I've been meaning to visit this place for a while, and I finally did--it's safe to say I regret not coming sooner! It's now my top choice for lunch, whether I'm headed to the beach or just craving quality food. The prices are unbeatable, the staff is welcoming, and the service is exceptional. Plus, the song selection adds to the enjoyable experience. My group and I tried sandwiches, pizzas, and Nutella & pistachio croissants, and every bite was absolutely delicious. Thank you for such tasty treats!

Rita M.

Yelp
Stopped at Botta yesterday for a quick lunch after a tour of the Art Deco district. The food was excellent--I got the Botta that is made with porchetta a mildly spicy giardiniera spread and a creamy spread, cheese and arugula. It was really tasty with crispy panini and well balanced flavors. My husband got the New Yorkese which is on Schiacciatta and had yummy Italian deli meats, nduja, fresh mozzarella plus more. He really liked it. The restaurant is at 14th street where the building on the beach starts. It was a quiet spot--we ate outside with an umbrella for sun. Definitely recommend!

Maria Alejandra O.

Yelp
Best Italian place in Miami, it's perfect for a beach day. Ingredients are fresh and every sandwich, pizza or bowl is balanced amazingly

T A.

Yelp
Awesome sandwiches, top quality ingredients and good service. We also enjoyed the pizza. Ate here twice in a two day south beach stay.

Pat F.

Yelp
Like sandwhiches in Florence. Incredible. Go if anywhere close to south beach. Owner is awesome as well.

Jenny T.

Yelp
Went here very excited to try their Italian sandwiches but honestly was kind of disappointed. Having had sandwiches in Italy I can compare apples to apples. The bread was way too toasted/ crunchy that it hurts the inside of your mouth. The meat is barely present, the arugula overpowers everything, It was just a big miss for me and everyone else who was with me. Definitely a one timer for me.
google avatar

Iris M.

Yelp
Delicious! Just simple, fresh, authentic ingredients. I added truffle honey to my prosciutto crudo and it was the yummiest mix of sweet and salty. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and service was great! It is a very casual spot with outside seating, you go up to the window and place your order. They have a few outside tables (not sure about inside seating). Would definitely come again!

Lexi K.

Yelp
Foods great! service is great perfect location ! glad i found this little secret spot !

Yelp
I was in vacation here and went down for a sandwich because of the Yelp reviews. They were not wrong. The sandwich was delicious, they sliced the meat right then for it. It was huge and on very good bread. Speaking of bread, be ready to part with a bunch of yours. The sandwiches are $20. Granted the guy has a massive rent bill I'm guessing so it's justified. Worth a try.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
Go here. That is all you need. But Yelp likes more. The sandwiches have the freshest bread that I have ever had in a sandwich place. Hearty serving of meat and cheese. The owner is friendly and very accommodating. Sure it is a little pricey, but it does have an Ocean Drive address.
google avatar

Christian C.

Yelp
Ok ...not amazing or great but a Good spot for a quick bite............................

Law H.

Yelp
Was one of the best sandwich shops I've ever had in Miami and was quick and easy to order from. I'd recommend them to everyone looking for delicious Italian style sandwiches.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
These sandwiches are unbelievable! I couldn't stop talking about it the whole way home. We split the Caprese Lover (and I got a side of balsamic glaze) and the Il Panino dei Capi. Crowd pleasers for kids and adults alike. I'm still thinking about it. Yum

Aguis F.

Yelp
Service 10/10 and this sandwich omggggg can't wait to be back. I literally dreamed about it, the perfect combination with the Brie cheese and the fig. I'm coming back tomorrow for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite local pizza joint! This is not your typical NY style pizza, but authentic Italian amazingness. Don't let the walk-up window fool you, they are serving some incredible food - pizza, sandwiches, bruschetta, and now salads. It's all delicious and I seriously haven't tried anything I didn't love but I especially love their pizza. All of them. Without exceptions.
google avatar

Ajade N.

Yelp
Real deal place. Straight to the point of satisfaction and deliciousness. I order here through Doordash for me and my guy friend and ordered the following day as well because the food was perfection. Today I'm ordering a salad and hope it's as divine as their sandwiches. I love artisan places like this who care about what they do.

Espy D.

Yelp
Place was amazing. Delicious sandwiches, & omg the pistachio croissant Loved the ambiance, the owners were beyond sweet and attentive. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
First time visiting this Italian family owned restaurant located in Miami. They offered a wide menu of pizzas, paninis, salads, bruschetta, cold cut meats and cheese assortment, desserts, coffee and a menu for breakfast. Ordered the Prossciutto Pizza and the Panini Focaccia with Rosted pork belly (Porchetta). I was pleasantly surprised with the rich flavors and great quality ingredients. The crush of the pizza was fantastic and the flavor of the roasted pork belly was excellent. Really enjoyed every bite. Seating is little limited but it's a great place to get food or also to enjoy outdoors seating. Their are fans located right above the tables so it's prefect on a very hot and sunny day. They have a nice variety of soft drinks. I ordered the San Pellegrini "Arancia and Fico d'India", really liked the very refreshing taste. Definitely a spot to try and enjoy with family and friends! Great and friendly customer service.

Yelp
Botta nice little Italian gem on 79th street. The venue and parking lot are shared with a couple other eatery fronts. They all share the same kitchen so you're good if you park in the shared lot. The Botta section is thoughtfully decorated from the outside.  The have the window incorporated into a food truck design which should bring a smile to your face. Thers also a nice hand mural you have to see. The menu is posted right on the wall. There is breakfast and fresh OJ if you fancy that over the sandwiches,  salads and pizza. All the sandwiches come with on Fococcia bread that they make. It is similar to what they use in their pizza as well. I had to get the Porchetta or roasted pork belly with added arugula. Porchetta is usually a slow cooking Italian process with lots of seasoning on the pork. This did not disappoint. The bread was thick and crusty but gave way. The meat was thin sliced.  It was very moist as well. Almost like a ham but  this was not. The flavor is in the meat but it's also brushed in the herbs and seasoning,  which you get nice surprise bites of while consuming.  I would definitely order this again, maybe or maybe not with the truffle oil.  I also had the Square pizza with prosciutto.  The bread is similar to what you get in the sandwich.  However the underside of the pizza was nice and crisp. This added a nice dimension of flavor and great texture for your mouth to break up. Yeah the rest of the pizza was good too. It is square and cut into quarters nicely. Great pizza and don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Eat the pizza first so you don't have to share the crust with anyone or save it strategically.  You know who you are. All the food came in the same state, ready to consume on site or take away. The take away containers are not plastic and of quality! There are tables on site with fans. For me I came in the afternoon and it was drama with the South Florida heat. This plaza does not have indoor dining or is designed for it. The onsite seating is in shade and they do have fans. One improvement I would like to see in the future is additional shade of some type so I can enjoy on venue more. In quick summary,  great food and great representation of Italian food with a street food twist. Come early when it's cool or get your food to go.

Andrew G.

Yelp
Hidden gem, Italian style sandwiches with a ton of variety. Also the people working here are very nice and give excellent service. In the perfect location in the heart of Miami Beach. I've eaten at several delis out here, and none of them come close. Also they have a deli selling meat inside, so you know the meat is fresh and high quality. If you're in Miami Beach and craving a sandwich, you'd be foolish not to stop by, so don't be a fool! It's not a sit down restaurant, to go style, though they do offer limited seating. Also have absurdly tasty looking dessert croissants, though I wasn't hungry enough to try one. I'm coming back in a few days.
google avatar

Alexis D.

Yelp
I've been wanting to have lunch at Botta Street Food for a while and I'm so glad I finally did! To start off, this is not a sit down restaurant. It's a made to order window with two tables outside. Because its July and too hot in Miami, I got my order to go. I ordered the Prosciutto, Burrata, arugula sandwich and asked them to add truffle and to make it into a wrap (Piadina style). If you don't know much about Italian food products, they use Prosciutto di Parma which is an high-quality, expensive type of prosciutto. They also used Burrata mozzarella for the cheese which is also a high-quality, expensive type of mozzarella. My meal was absolutely delicious and exactly what I wanted! I love that they use the high quality ingredients for their sandwiches. The staff was awesome and super friendly. I even got the pleasure to meet one of the owners, Lorenzo. Overall, awesome experience! I will definitely be coming back again soon!

Yelp
I have been a long time fan of Botta. Their staff has always had exceptional customer service, the food has always been fresh, and their menu has always been something to look forward to. The other day I stopped by to get a sandwich and my experience wasn't too great. Change of menu: I 100000000% am in favor of raising prices to survive inflation. My favor, however, only exists when portions aren't also sacrificed. That does not seem to be the case here. Prices have gone up and previous ingredients have been dropped and become recommendations at additional cost. For example, balsamic glaze which was once an ingredient to a sand which can be added for 95¢. I find that to be insane. Customer service: Before I realized the menu changes I was looking for sandwiches I had tried in the past based on ingredients. I told the young lady at the window what I was looking for and she completely brushed me off. If she didn't know the old menu that's fine I get it, but at least say that. Flavor: Botta still has the best sandwich bread in the game, crisp but won't shred the top of your mouth. My most recent sandwich was a bit disappointing flavor wise. The sandwich was 2/3 arugula. My pictures are from my first and last visit--there's a huge difference and at $20 (I also got a bottle of Coke) that's an issue. I'm on the fence about returning--Botta is a great establishment but need some tweaks.

Yelp
Great neighborhood sandwich place. Hood quality and always fresh. Recommended for a quick bite !

Yelp
I went by Botta for lunch today and I am sure glad I did. To start off the location is charming. I love how they have the menu up front and visible for everyone to look at. The girl that helped me out was very sweet and nice as well. Unfortunately right now I am on a strict diet so I couldn't have a lot of their delicious-looking items, but I will def be back for those in the near future! I decided to get the tuna salad and it was delicious. It is very important that the ingredients in a salad are fresh and of good quality and this salad was certainly that! I also got a tiramisu to take to my grandmother that looks sooo yummy and she confirmed that it was!! My experience at Botta was delightful and I will def be back to try all the carbs and cheesiness once I can!
google avatar

Veronica P.

Yelp
A hole in the wall, tiny shop produces some of the best Italian sandwich shop food I've ever had. I went by myself so I only got to try one dish and how I regretted not ordering more! I'm not a big fan of red meat, which the menu is primarily filled with- pork, prosciutto, mortadella, pork belly, etc. So I there wsre only a couple of options with tuna, but wow wow wow can they make tuna delicious! I enjoyed (inhaled) the tuna and onions pizza, with a delicious thick, flavorful, crispy dough, fresh stringy mozzarella, black pepper, and a drizzle of oil- which really rounded out the flavors. I cant wait to go back and try more of their menu items. They serve breakfast all day, which was also a pleasant surprise! Minor concern: There are only a few parking spaces on the lot, and most are marked for other restaurants. You may have to hunt for street parking, or residential parking behind the building.

Yelp
Wow, I think the best panini I've ever had in the US (and I used to live in NYC), seriously as if I traveled to Italy and ordered there. I got the mortadella & straciatella panini and momentarily freaked out because I usually would go more prosciutto/burrata. Everything on the menu looks amazing I don't think you can go wrong. I was not disappointed. Every ingredient was so fresh, the bread had a perfect crust while simultaneously being fluffy, dijon and pistachios paired perfectly with the other ingredients. Parking was tricky at first, I think your best bet is to park on 79th street alongside the little parking lot. Staff was very friendly and prompt. More of a takeout vibe, but there are a couple high tops if you want to sit and enjoy. Thankfully, I live down the street and will now be returning to try every single item on the menu.

Galilee B.

Yelp
Wowww! Just like in Italy! Soooo good and great people!! Thoroughly enjoyed! Great foccacia sanwhiches and breakfast sandwich! Also the honey square pizza was delicious too! Perfecto!

Natalia D.

Yelp
I've been a loyal customer of this establishment for three years, and it's their exceptional food and stellar customer service that keep drawing me back. Recently, they've relocated, and witnessing the growth and accomplishments of the owners fills me with joy. This place is a unique treasure in Miami, where the staff remembers your regular order and always greets you with a warm smile. Observing the owners' dedication and hard work firsthand makes it all the more special. They are always there, making sandwiches, serving you coffee .. they are really great!
google avatar

Sherry W.

Yelp
We went on a Saturday afternoon and received amazing service from the owner. He is from Italy and makes amazing food. I had the bruschetta. It is served on fresh bread with a crispy bottom. It had the perfect "crunch" when I bit into it. The topping was fresh and flavorful. The class lasagna is delicious. My go to meal at an Italian eatery is always the lasagna. This one gets two thumbs up. I counted six layers of thin noodles between sauce, meat, and cheese. It is a huge portion for the price. There is parking in the attached lot. You order at the outside window. There are a few tables to sit at outside or take it with you to go. They also own the Avocado Toast stand next door.

Mar F.

Yelp
This delightful beachside panino shop quickly became our favorite spot in Miami and our #1 recommendation for friends and family visiting - already miss it! The freshness and quality of the ingredients is only rivaled by the owners, who are incredibly friendly and cool and know how to make a place feel like home. Hands down Botta serves the best food around, especially the panini; coming from two discerning Italians with deep culinary roots and keen appetites that's saying a lot!

Yelp
I came here for lunch about a week ago and the food was very good. This place is fairly new right next to the popular Half Moon Empanadas. It's pretty much the same concept. You just basically order from the pick-up window and eat your food at one of the tables outside. I ordered the Panini with Nduja, Salame Milano, mozzarella, olive tapenade. Seriously, this was not your ordinary panini. The bread was fresh and perfectly toasted. In between, I could tell they only use fresh ingredients. I honestly haven't had a panini with this much flavor in a long time. Super impressed. I can't wait to go back and try their lasagna. The owner was so passionate about his food that I'm pretty confident that I'll love it too.

Ssared K.

Yelp
This place was needed after a bad food experience. The owner is from Italy and he was very welcoming, notably no forced tipping. They slice their own meats they use in their food, and it's delicious. This place lives up to its reviews, it was awesome!

Mike G.

Yelp
This place is amazing. I've gone here twice for lunch since visiting Miami. The ingredients are fresh and the staff is so friendly. Don't skip this place.
google avatar

Yelp
I've had the opportunity to come to eat here so much recently due to a job and what an absolute pleasure. It's an outdoor seating only that appears to only have parking in front but has available parking in the back. I've always had the same turkey sandwich and every single time no matter what day or time it's amazing. The consistency in flavor is incredible. I've also had all of the desserts and they're all flavorful. I've also had coffee and also been very pleased with it. Overall great establishment and probably shouldn't try something else with the amount of times i go lol

Rose C.

Yelp
Yummy biscotti. Good value. Pleasant staff. East to find location with lots of on-street parking.

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches and great service! I got the burrata, prosciutto and arugula on ciabatta and all the flavors and textures came together beautifully. The ciabatta tasted really fresh and the flavor of the olive oil was delicious! Espresso was perfect too. Want to go back to try a breakfast sandwich!

Yelp
Mamma Mia!!! I drive past this cute little foodie plaza every day since I live a couple blocks down! I never have gone in.... Until today (thank you Yelp!) I was so hungry this AM and went to Botta for some grubs. This place has lots of meat options like prosciutto, Italian ham, turkey, pork and beef. Lots of sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, bowls, pizza, salads, bruschetta and coffee! All of their bread is homemade!!!! I love bread - so I got the 4 cheese pizza (yes I don't care if it's 9 AM), FRESH squeezed OJ and an oat milk latte! The pizza was so crispy and looked like an authentic Italian square pie. The OJ was actually way better than I was expecting... it was probably the best OJ I've had in a while! I would most definitely come back and try another pizza or sandwich or anything with bread really. The owners are Italian and they also own the avocado toast shop next door!
