Bottega - Review - Mueller - Austin - The Infatuation

"Right in the heart of Mueller, Bottega is an all-day cafe and ice cream shop. During the day, they serve coffee, toasts, and salads. If you show up in the evening, you can get ice cream from the former Merry Monarch trailer, known for its creative flavors. Bottega is still working on getting beer and wine approved, but expected to have those available soon. photo credit: Bottega" - Nicolai McCrary

Cute little Window-service coffee shop with a small interior. Patio is very Paris-cafe feeling. Lots of tasty treats to order as well.

Google
Loved this place! I was passing by and decided to give it a try - it was quick, efficient, and well worth it. The Italian sandwich was the best I’ve had in a while, and my Iced Americano with Oat Milk was perfectly made! My only feedback is that I wish there was an option to remove the cheese from the sandwiches before heating them up, but my experience was otherwise great.

Not sure how this place is even allowed to be open or why people would ever leave a good review. Came with my dad to treat him to a coffee since hes having a bad week. The coffee was not good, the strawberry matcha I got was a powdered solution instead of actual tea, and the strawberry element was a strawberry powder that first of all did not have any flavor, but sank to the bottom along the matcha mix. I got a toasted sandwich, the sandwich was cold on the inside and the outside was not properly toasted. I am actually very embarrassed I took my dad to a place like this. PSA: You have to order outside even though the barista is perfectly capable of taking your order inside, the food menu is non-existent and instead handwritten on a board with no prices or any semblance of organization AND the inside is messy and filled with flies im SHOCKED

Google
Absolutely love Bottega! Such an incredible place for the Mueller neighborhood and East Austin. I enjoy their lattes, gluten free sandwiches and the variety of their rotating soft serve flavors! The staff is incredible and it's just a gem.

Google
The absolute cutest coffee shop with the most adorable vintage decor. It’s a cozy spot and you can tell so much love and thought went into creating this space. I’ve had the chai, match, cappuccino, and bottega spritz - all delicious! The blueberry scone and jalapeño kolache is also worth a try as they’re scrumptious. A lot of other baked goods options. They’re pup friendly and have an outdoor patio. There’s also indoor seating.

Google
Cute little coffee shop with cozy vibes and friendly staff. Get here early to grab a pastry, or stop by in the evening for a beer. Ice cream on tap for the hotter days! Have a nice chat with relaxed music in the background, as the place seats about 10 people inside, so no overcrowding. Great if you get overstimulated easily. Feels like relaxing at a friend's house. Right next to Paggi Square, a quiet shaded space with a few benches to relax on.

Google
It’s cute here, small customer space (9 chairs) of mostly bar seating facing this lived-in kitchen. Matcha latte tastes high quality but kinda watery, and the blueberry ice cream had coconut flakes in it (I can’t stand the texture of coconut flakes) but a true blueberry flavor. I do love the chill neighborhood vibes and am grateful for the ridiculously fast wifi!

Google
Came here for a cup of coffee and a pastry and Bottega didn’t disappoint! Highlights: • I forgot to ask for half and half upon ordering and not only did the employees bring it out, but they brought it in a cute serving cup with napkins and servers with smiles on their faces • Generally, the two people working here (~8:30 this morning) were welcoming and kind, doing things like walking our coffees out to us, asking to give our dogs treats, etc. • Drip coffee was good and came in SUPER cute mugs! Plus, it paired perfectly with the apple pecan fritter • I got two drip coffees and a pastry for less than $10… as far as pricing goes for coffee/pastries in Austin, this felt quite cheap (e.g. in comparison to another location I frequent with multiple locations, where a drip coffee and a bagel will run you $10+) Overall great experience. Thanks, Bottega!

Yelp
Thank you to Yelp for leading me to this charming neighborhood coffee shop! I felt the friendly, communal vibes as soon as I walked up to their ordering window. Their cafe menu really made my heart sing with all of their unique takes on the classics. Think raw cacao lattes, matcha with a little lemon pellegrino spritz, espresso with a splash of orange pellegrino, and so much more! I'm taking notes and will be recreating at home. My husband loved his cold brew and my raw cacao latte was not-too-sweet and the perfect pick-me-up after a morning at the nearby children museum. The baristas were SO SO SO friendly and nice and gave me amazing lunch recommendations when they heard we were from out of town. This is definitely a special spot!

Yelp
My wife and I stopped her for some coffee and ice cream with our newborn. Unfortunately we were met with some very bad vibes. We wanted to place our order inside in the AC so that our newborn wouldn't overheat. Unfortunately, the gal working the iPad insisted that we order outside in the 103 degree heat. There wasn't a single patron in the bottega so I'm not sure what was preventing her from allowing us to order inside. We decided to just leave. Just a puzzling experience all the way around. I've reached out to the owner, Gregory Maze as I felt compelled to share this strange experience.

Yelp
Such a cute coffee shop & ice cream parlor with lively vibes -- counters with red & white tiles, hanging plants, bright red counter chairs. It's a small but cozy space with friendly baristas. I've enjoyed lounging here as well as grabbing a coffee to go and heading over to the lake. I recently tried their blueberry latte, a popular option! I loved the innovative flavor and had to try it, although it was a little heavy on the blueberry for me. It also came with a mini scone on top -- what a cute touch! Lovely spot to catch up over a coffee. Can't wait to be back to try some of their bites, wines, and ice cream as well.

Yelp
I stopped by for a latte with a seasonal Apple flavored syrup and really enjoyed it. The apple syrup was great. Interesting combination but I thought it worked really well together.

Yelp
We tried this place for the first time on a random Wednesday night and it was so cute! We walked here from Chuys at Muller and thought we were lost at first, but it is tucked away and blends in with the surrounding houses! It has a cute little seating area with some bar stools, limited ice cream menu (I think there were 5 flavors to choose from), but it was great! I got the mint chocolate chip ice cream and the peach ice cream - the peach was not our favorite but the mint chip was so good! I would definitely recommend walking here for ice cream if your in the area!

Yelp
The vibe of this little shop is so cute, I love that it's just an implant in a neighborhood! I got the matcha latte which I thought was expensive for a standard matcha. I wanted to get some merry monarch ice cream but they were all sold out. Over very cute shop.

Yelp
Sublime affogato! My father in law spoke really highly of this little shop in Mueller and he wasn't wrong. The coffee and the ice cream is delicious. The honey ice cream was amazing, a perfect creamy match for the generous shots of espresso poured on top. The presentation was also very cute. My husband also had overnight oats and they were good - I stole a bite. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This felt like a true neighborhood hidden gem. This place has outdoor seating so it's best enjoyed during sunny or clement weather. You can also get your stuff to go. Very cute, will be back!

Yelp
Such a cute local spot! I like to come here during morning walks or on the way to/from the Sunday farmer's market. Small menu, but great coffees and little treats (think: donuts, pastries, and ice cream). Service is quick and friendly and there are some cute seating option outside, although limited because the space is small. If I'm not mistaken, they have recently started allowing people to sit inside at the bar, which I know was closed for a while since COVID. All in all, another great Mueller spot to catch up with a friend over a cup of delicious coffee and a sweet treat!

Yelp
Cute little cafe with deeeelicious ice cream! We tried two flavors, forgot one but the other was Persian honeycomb. Absolutely recommend trying the spot for their unique flavors! It's also in the nice walkable Mueller neighborhood, so makes for a nice stop while walking around.

Yelp
Bottega in Austin is a charming spot for a coffee break. I ordered the iced vanilla latte, and it was quite good--smooth, with just the right amount of sweetness and balanced flavors.

Yelp
A neighborhood gem! I've been waiting for Bottega to open and it's such a welcome addition to the Mueller area. I'm thrilled to have the best scoops in Austin, Merry Monarch, so accessible. The space is colorful, compact and cute tucked away on Robert Browning in a residential pocket. No doubt it will become a staple for grab-and-go bites, coffee, ice cream, baked goods (shout-out blueberry muffin) and community gathering. Highly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
I love this little coffee shop. I had the strawberry matcha which was delicious! Service was fast too. It does feel a little pricey but $7 for matcha seems to be the new norm in Austin.

Yelp
Small little coffee/ice cream place. Currently when I went, it was order at the window only. Got 2 ice cream and they were great. The persian honeycomb was a bit to eat if you got a big piece of honeycomb but overall, pretty good Coffee brioche was great, I liked the little piece of brioche in it. Service was great and had little small talk while she scooped out ice cream.

Yelp
Friend was staying with friends nearby so we met her here. Cozy space whether indoors or outdoors. For ice cream we had a cup of "the persian honeycomb which contains almond, cardamom, ricotta, saffron, rose, and pistachio honeycomb candy". Sweet but unique taste. From the quotes you can tell I stole the description from someone else's review. Besides the coffee and ice cream it's a little bit of a neighborhood wine bar. The selection seems pretty good. Not yet listed on the menu was a glass of a Primitivo. The name escapes me, but I enjoyed the taste so I will say they are as discerning as I am in my tastes. :) Not a place for a pilgrimage, but definitely a great place to stop in while on a walk and meet some of your neighbors and their dogs. Wish my neighborhood in Santa Clara had one!

Yelp
I saw that this place was new and needed to try. I love how it's nestled quietly in a little neighborhood. It has a super cute vibe and it is also dog friendly since it is an outdoors place. The service here is great, the people are so kind and friendly. They will explain the menu to you and give you pointers on what's popular. We went for ice cream and my husband tried the affogato. I got the Persian honeycomb flavor and it seriously tasted like homemade Indian ice cream. Super unique you will not be able to find this flavor anywhere else! I will definitely go back again to check more flavors out or I may just keep getting that one because I loved it so much!

Yelp
This place is fantastic!! Great addition to the Mueller neighborhood and slightly off the beaten path. It has a cute, fancy Wayfair vibe with some unique menu items. Hands down the must try item is their cold brew affogato.
google avatar

Nishan H.

Yelp
Horrible customer service I am sure they are fake reviews!! Do yourself a favor and don't come here. For a newer establishment they should really find a way to be more pleasant with their customers. I am sure the "owner" will get on here and make up some BS story as they did on Google but good luck pal one bad review is worth more than the ten fake ones posted!!!!

Ian M.

Yelp
What a great addition to the neighborhood! This is a great place for a delicious coffee of your preference and some fine pastry. Loved the casual and friendly vibe and have always been well attended. If in the Mueller area, a superlative place for a drink and a good spot to sit and relax and meet some friendly Austin residents.

Yelp
Coffee is great, cute vibe, good service, hummus is excellent & the veggies were fresh.

Yelp
Ice cream lives up to the hype. It's delicious. The kiddo was plenty big for me. My son said it was delicious.

Carly M.

Yelp
This place is super cute! I wasn't a huge fan of their coffee but I did get a koloche as well which was pretty decent. I walked into the building thinking there was a sitting area but they only allowed people to go to the walk up window which was a little odd.
google avatar

Yelp
so cute, i've only tried the matcha and blueberry cake donut but both were delicious so i'll definitely be back!

Tiffany P.

Yelp
Bad service. Rude staff. Advertised with inviting indoor seating but rudely told we had to order at window and door was closed on us. No explanation or apology given. I did not stay to try food or drink. Was not worth my money or time. Sad. Put a sign on the door or be kind.

Yelp
Such a cute little place nested inside a residential area very close to the Mueller Farmer's market. The business very nicely fits into the neighborhood vibe. I love the outdoor seating area and there is also seating inside. The baristas are super friendly - we even exchanged coffee shop recommendations from nearby areas. The coffee is definitely tasty!

Yelp
Cute, small, in a chill neighborhood. Kolaches were not dynamite but the coffee was pretty decent.

Yelp
Sweetest neighborhood coffee shop. Love enjoying wine and snacks here. Had their latest toast with sunchokes and it was delicious

Caleb Y.

Yelp
Here's the thing. They serve Merry Monarch ice cream. Best ice cream in Austin, so automatically five stars, definitely give it a shot if you like things that taste good
