The 16 Best Restaurants in Laval, Quebec - Eater Montreal

"Fabrizio Covone’s Neopolitan pizzeria in Little Italy is credited with starting the 90-second wood-burning pizza oven craze in Montreal when it opened back in 2006. This upscale-casual Laval outlet is an equally smart business venture, catering to the area’s large Italian community and its many Italophiles. The dough comes topped with officially Neopolitan-sanctioned toppings, including San Marzano tomatoes and Italian mozzarella for its menu of red and white pies." - Erinn Blicher, Eater Staff

Was impressed! Hands down one of the best pizzerias in town. We were a large group, and the only little ick is that we had to wait 15 minutes for a table we had reserved, but I understood later, since we stayed ourselves more than 3 hours seated. The service is fast, professional and friendly. Our server Florence was so accommodating, skilled and kind. A very enjoyable atmosphere in general in the restaurant. And omg the food. Pizzas are insane, the “pizza oven taste” topped with rich flavours really stands out. Most of us ordered the special menu of the week, and it didn’t disappoint. The tagliatelle had a generous portion of ground beef. And the focaccia… heavenly! Would definitely be back, a place with delicious food, professional service and super fair prices!

The truffle and egg pizza was incredible. I also recommend the arancini. My only complaint is the pizza wasn’t cut (maybe a French Canadian thing) and service was slooooow. We spent 90+ mins here for a lunch and were late getting back to the office.

I was pleasantly surprised with the service, the food and the ambiance of this place! We were warmly welcomed by the hostess upon arrival who took our coats and hung them herself. We then got a place at the bar because there was no table available. I usually do not like high chair but these were supper comfortable (we stayed here about 3 hours). Then despite the restaurant being so busy, we were greeted right away by our waitress Genevieve who was super welcoming. They gave us a complimentary bread for starter and it was delicious with olive oil that you can add to taste. We order 2 entrees and a pizza, the entrees got delivered together and almost as soon as we were done we got our pizza. Perhaps the BEST PIZZA IN TOWN! everything about it tasted delicious even the crust!. We finished off with a coffee and dessert. The whole time we were there the service was impeccable! I remember dropping my napkin and I didn’t even notice until someone from the staff handed me a new one after picking mine from the floor! I absolutely wowed by this place! It felt like being in a high end restaurant. 100% recommend

Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. There is a wide selection of wines in a warm and cozy setup. The food however is average and no dish did stand out. There is a good selection of cocktails on the menu, the negroni was decent.

Top 3 pizza in the large Montreal area . If I can be picky, dough was good but was missing a bit of air ( crust was full instead of being filled with large air bubble in true neapolitan style) , sauce lacked a hint of salt but I ate it all . Tiramisu was 12$ and was meh , no coffee flavor at all , the ladyfinger were like cake pieces . My friend had the homemade gelato and he was raving about it. Would go back for the excellent pizza but would not take the tiramisu ever again.

Food was decent and service was good, but we waited over 30 minutes for our table with a reservation. When reserving, it clearly states you have 2 hours to clear your table, and clearly it’s not enforced because there was quite a long like of people waiting at the door for their reservation. Manager offered us a round of drinks which was appreciated but I think they need to do a better job of managing their reservations.

This was my first visit, and unfortunately, it will be my last. While the atmosphere seemed promising, the service left a lot to be desired. When we were still deciding on our drinks and appetizers, the waitress offered us some olives, which we assumed were complimentary. We went on to order wine and food, but to my surprise, I later saw an $8 charge for the olives on the bill. I paid the bill and left, but I believe that if you're going to offer something to guests, especially without them ordering it, you should be transparent about any associated costs. It felt misleading and left a bad impression. I value honesty and sadly, that wasn’t my experience here.
