Bottle Rocket Sushi - Review - Downtown Atlanta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"South Downtown continues its glow up just in time for the 2026 World Cup, this time with the addition of Bottle Rocket Sushi. The popular Japanese-American sushi spot is relocating from its longtime headquarters in Castleberry Hill to a larger space on 231 Mitchell St. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Jacinta Howard

Best Dive Bars in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Castleberry Hill’s Bottle Rocket serves saki, cheap domestics, cheap shots, and the sushi dive bar’s menu includes specialty sushi rolls with names like “The Naked Dinner” and “Bubble Gum.” Not in the mood for sushi? Bottle Rocket’s grill menu includes a few different sandwiches; try the Black Angus burger flash-marinated in a house Korean barbecue sauce, then wash it all down with a 16-ounce Miller Lite." - Denise K. Best Restaurants Near the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Bottle Rocket is a popular hangout with Castleberry Hill residents as well as Atlanta United and Falcons fans. The restaurant’s menu is clearly stated on the window outside: sushi, grill, and comfort cocktails. Expect platters of fresh sushi, bowls of fried rice, burgers and fries, and even a steak and sushi combo. It’s all good." - Beth McKibben

Best Restaurants in the AUC Near Spelman, Morehouse, and Clark Atlanta University | Eater Atlanta

"Both a sushi restaurant and burger joint, Bottle Rocket’s mix of cuisines helps attract a diverse crowd in Castleberry Hill of neighborhood residents and visitors headed to games or concerts at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. But the restaurant has always made its support clear for the AUC, often hosting reunion events during Homecoming week. The Korean barbecue black Angus house burger is a standard at Bottle Rocket, as are sushi rolls like the shrimp tempura Pink Lady, the humongous Big Ass egg roll, and Japanese fried chicken karaage or JFC." - Mike Jordan

Service was excellent But I wasn’t satisfied with my food I was kind of offended I got in my car open my bag, and it was like my sushi was just thrown in a box no presentation it was sloppy I actually had to pay for this had I seen this BeforehandI wouldn’t have paid. I would’ve just left it. My edamame’s was swimming in water something that Didn’t look that well They wasn't fResh they definitely Looked and taste as if they had been microwaved.. But again The two ladies working were amazing

Went here tonight with a few friends to watch the Atlanta United game, and could literally see the Benz stadium out the window. I’ve been to a lot of places to try and watch away games, and Bottle Rocket not only had the game on the TVs but also had the sound system connected to the game so we could hear the commentary. That’s something I have missed at a lot of places, and one of the reasons I watch so many away games at home, so it was really refreshing to see a bar that cares about the game and encourages the atmosphere of it. Food was amazing, highly recommend the Whistle Pop sushi! Very well named, the jalapeno adds a little kick to it that’s really great. The tuna tataki was also really good, if you’re a spice fan it’s a perfect choice. Our server was also very nice, presented the food well, and knew the drink menu forwards and backwards. Joe and Dallas were awesome and seemed to know everyone there ! Will be coming back next time there’s an away game ❤️‍🔥

Google
Average all the way around. Server never came back asking about refills or if I'd like another beer, which is kind of unacceptable in a bar! The sushi was hit or miss. The fried Rocket roll was ok because it was fried. The other rolls we tried were not great. Rice was not sticking together, and they fell apart very easily. All in all I don't think I'll ever return to drink or try other food.

We decided to walk from Hard Rock Hotel and this place looked quaint and fun. We were greeted by Kia and then we stayed for the entire evening. The food was good, the drinks were delish (loved lucky Buddha beer-recommended by a local), and absolutely enjoyed the neighborhood vibe. Kia was perfect and friendly! Stop by this place to grab a bite to eat and meet some great people! ❤️

My girlfriend and I were visiting Atlanta and wanted dinner. On our third day there, we decided to wander away from the downtown area in search of better dining options. It's easy to walk by and miss this place, but a man sitting outside with his dog suggested that we try it. I didn't know what to think about a bar that served sushi and burgers, but the nice man with the beautiful pittie named Blue was right! A man, who I assumed is the owner, welcomed us once we were inside. He told us that they weren't able to serve any hot food for another 15-20 minutes because the grill was being serviced. Considering that my girlfriend and I were hungry, and wanted to order burgers, this was disappointing news. We decided to order sushi as appetizers and wait for the grill to be ready. As we waited for our food, we saw an eclectic mix of people coming in and out of the bar, and it appeared that many of them knew each other. The atmosphere was very friendly. The owner chatted with us a bit here and there as he worked, and then brought the sushi rolls to our table. I'm glad that grill was not working when we arrived, because the sushi was fantastic! We debated on ordering more sushi, but instead decided to go with burgers next, and put in our order. I ordered a burger with a side salad, and my girlfriend ordered her burger with fries. Both burgers were outstanding! My side salad was a very nice portion size, and her krinkle👌🏼fries were cooked to perfection! I'd visit Bottle Rocket again for sure, and recommend that you give it a try as well. 👍🏼👍🏼

Went here for Valentine's Day with my partner. Awesome little dive bar with a laid back atmosphere and super sweet staff. We got three sushi rolls and cocktails, and all were to die for. Our calamari appetizer was also genuinely the best calamari I've ever had. Definitely give this one a try!

Great wait staff! The fish is decent. The rice had me close to sending it all back to the kitchen. It was overcooked and didn't hold form well and had me doubting it's freshness. Their Palermo was crafted well. The Telepathy martini is spiked fruit punch. A combo we ordered magically cost $5 more than it was on the menu. If you're dying for sushi and it's convenient, I think their sashimi and rolls will scratch that itch, but it's not impressive. The sake was decent, but overpriced even by restaurant standards. It wouldn't take much for the kitchen to make it all great. Maybe it was an off day.

Google
The food was cool. I enjoyed my bubble gum sushi roll and sprite. But the server/bartender that boasts about being there from Saturday to Tuesday, was so rude to my friend and I. As soon as we sat down, we were rushed to select an item, followed by very clear body language that indicated annoyance and/or agitation. It was odd because the server/bartender was so pleasant to every other customer. Just not two black women at the bar. If you want to spend money on parking, food, and unnecessarily cold service - this is the place to be. 0 out of 10. Never again.

Yelp
Bottle Rocket Fine Food & Beverage 4 stars Came from the aquarium hungry and were looking for late night food. Found street parking nearby. Small bar so shouldn't have high expectations of the sushi; not the best but got the job done. Loved how they decorated inside. The bartender sat done with us to go over the memu; she was super friendly! Food is 3-3.5 stars. Miso soup (seaweed + tofu) was super delicious. JFC chicken karage was savory/yummy... IF they were called tenders. That wasn't prepped as karage. The fries however were very hot & crispy. Specialty rolls ranked: Sunset Strip (my favorite, spicy hamachi, cucumber, salmon, + topped w/ shrimp), Bulls Eye (pretty good, eel topped w/ yellowtail, not that spicy), & Pink Lady (was ok, shrimp tempura + avocado topped w/ tuna & eel sauce) Service was excellent and experience was great; 4 stars overall!

Yelp
THE most reliable neighborhood bar. Amazing bartender Mike strategically curating hand crafted cocktails. Along with a variety of sushi selections. What's more to ask?

Yelp
Unfortunately, we were the only table there and service was very slow. The rice was mushy and over cooked which made my sushi fall apart. Place looked dirty and left a bad impression with our client. The fish itself like the tuna and other varieties was fresh. Place just needs to get spruced up and it'll be a gem.

Yelp
Went here for Valentine's Day with my partner. Awesome little dive bar with a laid back atmosphere and super sweet staff. It's a small space that could seat about 20 including the bar, and we loved the coziness of it. One of the TVs played It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, with football on the other three huge screens. We got three sushi rolls and a cocktail each, and all were to die for. Two of the sushi rolls were fried - my partner was so excited to see fried sushi on the menu. (Speaking of the menu, it had lots of options and some great variety, but wasn't too overwhelming.) Our calamari appetizer was also genuinely the best calamari I've ever had. Definitely give this one a try!

Yelp
Very chill pub/bar right next to the Mercedes bens stadium. Finding parking was a little hard. They have parking spaces a few blocks away, which gets filled up during the games pretty quick. Service was quick. The ambience is very casual bar like. The sushi was okay, I have had better but never in such a cool bar situation. The drinks had ice cubes in the shape of kittens which was adorable and fun. I like the drinks, the food wasn't disappointing. I can see myself revisiting this place when I go for a game or so.

Yelp
As a tourist coming to Atlanta from a relatively small town, one of the things I was looking forward to the most was a nice sushi dinner. We weren't trying to break the bank, but we wanted some good, casual sushi. After looking at the reviews for here, it seemed promising. When we walked in on a Saturday night, there was maybe 6 people inside sitting at the bar, which we found sort of odd. The atomosphere was very atypical for a sushi restaurant, so much so that I honestly thought we had walked in the wrong door. We ordered the miso soup and crab rangoons to start. I enjoyed the miso soup, it had a lot of seaweed and tofu, it was flavorful and a decent portion size. I thought the crab rangoons were decent, but my partner said they were expecting a higher cream cheese to crab ratio. We ordered the bottle rocket roll (the highest recommended) and the happy ending roll. To be completely honest, it was extremely underwhelming. Neither roll was very flavorful at all. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was chill. If you're looking for a super Americanized bar that has cheap sushi for if you're craving it when you're buzzed, this is a good option for you. But if you're coming here for your first time in Atlanta, looking for pretty good affordable sushi, maybe not. We spent about $50 here and honestly, I wish we would've taken the red flags and walked out.

Yelp
Bottle Rocket is a charming spot with a great vibe and even better sushi. I had a spicy tuna roll and whistle pop roll and both were fresh and had excellent taste. The bartenders also did a great job providing good service. There is parking on the street but if you can't find any there is a parking lot on the other side of the business at No Más Cantina. Overall this is a must go to place if you're in the downtown area!

Yelp

Yelp
While visiting Atlanta we chose Bottle Rocket because we'd been in the car for twelve hours and wanted a nice local place within walking distance to our hotel. Bottle rocket fit the bill. It's a small space with the majority of the room taken up by the work counter. When we walked in the staff didn't pay too much attention to us, so we seated ourselves. I was a bit nervous about the aloofness, but the server that came over to help us ended up being wonderful. The space is a bit tight. There are several tables and a long counter at the bar that was full when we arrived. There is a men's restroom and a woman's restroom. The women's room is used to store kegs and could have been a bit cleaner. I liked that the menu was not overwhelming...it's one page and it had variety. If sushi isn't your thing there's even a burger for you! I'm not a sushi fan so I had a tuna burger served with batter fried that I dipped in spicy mayo. The tuna patty was served on a regular white hamburger bun...that seemed a bit underwhelming at first...it seemed like it should be in a Kaiser roll, but in the end the plain bun was perfect for the flavorful patty because it didn't steal the show. My husband had a gorgeous looking sashimi appetizer. It was eight pieces of lovely fish and he was quite happy. My daughter ordered the shrimp tempura roll. She's just getting into sushi. She said it was good, but was disappointed that it didn't have eel sauce on it. We all shared an order of their house made crab ragoons and agreed that they were very good. This is a nice place with a very local feel to it and we are so glad we were able to visit.

Yelp
Such a unique find! Who would expect sushi crammed into a spot between two Mexican places? I came in mid week hoping to grab a few rolls and sat at the bar. Mike and Sheila were working and were both super friendly and nice. I got my two rolls and decided to get the JFC fried rice as well. The rolls were up super fast - spicy tuna and shrimp tempura. The fried rice was perfect. The karaage was done very small bites which was exactly right to complement the rice. There was MST 3000 and another campy movie showing on the tv and people were having great conversations and just enjoying the nice weather outside too. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I would honestly give a lower score if it could. I walked in and immediately thought about leaving. I wish I had. Nothing was inviting about this place. It was dark and small and full of rowdy football fans. No one greeted us or told us where to sit. We choose to sit at the "sushi bar" which was just a continuation of the bar. The sushi door was open so I had a bad feeling. We ordered edamame and calamari as starters. The edamame was microwaved and the calamari was mostly fry batter. No one particularly liked their sushi roll but mine was inedible. The raw tun tasted incredibly fishy and that is a real bad sign for raw fish. I have no idea how this place has a 4 star ranking. I would eat here again if you paid me.

Yelp
Excellent sushi! The bartenders were so nice and great customer service. We're from out of Town but quickly noticed this is a really Local place- bartenders knew everyone and were so sweet. Food was wonderful!

Yelp
I had the sushi, miso soup and sushi (pictured). Miso soup was delicious! It was cute small quaint bar with sushi. Service was quick and service was nice. There was a super cute server who treated me like a queen through out my stay, even though he wasn't my server. I'll go back to see him. lol.

Yelp
Fantastic find in Atlanta. Great place to hang out, get something to get and a beverage.

Yelp
This place has been consistently displaying its bias toward black and brown customers and their favoritism toward white customers. 1. I ordered the bottle rocket sushi which on the menu is only $13 but they charged me $15. 2. The sushi is not authentic 3. They have been consistently rude I did not want to think this was true, especially in a black community. So I asked my friend to try it out. They charged him $13 for the same sushi that I paid $15 for and even received extra eel sauce for free. If this is a whites-only establishment, they should put up a sign.

Yelp
Just do you k ow the food is like a 3. Now let's get to the facts, my fiancé and I had the best times of our lives. We rarely get out to the city so when we do we turn up and there is no place better. The staff is awesome the atmosphere is great and we had a blast. Just see our photos.

Yelp
This is the best place Atlanta has to offer. Amazing food and the nicest people ever!! Get a bottle rocket or a burger. You can't go wrong here. Best ever!

Yelp
This menu is super creative...sushi and burgers. The place is small and comfy and all that is right in Castleberry Hill. The Supuns are TO DIE for. But the sushi variety is limited as is the quality (watery tuna...ick). But there's always good music and soccer on the TV. Locals linger with their dogs on the sidewalk. It's pretty much awesome.

Danielle H.

Yelp
Hidden gem! Next to a super popular restaurant so don't be intimidated by the line outside, it's probably not for bottle rocket, but it should be! The staff is incredible, you genuinely feel like the only table there. The vibe is a little divey but I loved it. The sushi was quality, the bar was 2 steps away and the mai tai's were awesome. We got the ahi burger and it was really good. It definitely feels like you're eating sushi in a dive bar but that's not something I have a problem with. If you're looking for a good meal, great service, and good drinks this is the spot.

Yelp
That was my first visiting the BR and it was and awesome experience! I was having transportation issues and one of my dear friends was visiting from TX. She was hungry and so was I lol. We ubered to this place and the food and service was awesome. I had sushi, rangoons, and a cocktail!!! My friend had the burger!!! Thanks BOTTLE ROCKET!

Yelp
So disappointed in our $100 delivery from Bottle Rocket. It's usually our favorite sushi but it was very subpar. Forgot one of the rolls, the hamachi had a visible bloodline (yuck) and the tuna wasn't fresh. It just didn't taste good. We actually didn't finish our food and are now eating some chips from the cupboard. Major bummer. I hope it was just an off night.

John F.

Yelp
Exquisite!! Had a delightful quesadilla and coffee here for lunch. Server Morgan was a delight! Will definitely be back.

Yelp
I love this place and their sushi is the best! Great date night or if you want to grab a drink solo. Servers and Bartenders are awesome and would definitely recommend this restaurant/bar

Yelp
Had a great, chill time in the relaxed atmosphere, our server Sam was awesome, and each bite of sushi was delicious. They even let me request a custom roll, and this was just my first visit! I'd been wanting to try this place because of its great reviews and because, if it turned out to be a good joint, it would the closest good sushi to my place. I was not disappointed! Aesthetically, it's the weirdest sushi restaurant I've ever seen, but the friendly service from Sam, the variety of menu options, and the tasty sushi we ordered sat just fine with me. We ordered the Pink Lady roll, the Bottle Rocket roll, and I asked for a custom roll with just avocado and salmon. I was so impressed by how Sam said, "IF you tell me what you want, I can have the kitchen make it for you." No sushi server has ever told me that! Every roll was excellent. Fresh fish, fresh avocado, well seasoned and moist/sticky rice, and fresh nori. Wish we could have stayed for more, but sushi always fills me up quickly. Strange atmosphere, great food, can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I was about to get beat up by a guy with major road rage. Looked in my rear view mirror and saw 3 white men coming to my rescue! The driver got back on his car and left. I circle around, park, walk towards Bottle Rocket. The guys have a table outside and completely made my day. At one point, we all agreed it's not a black or white thing. It's about taking care of each other. They wanted to take care of me, there's compassion out here. NOW THIS SUSHI! Lord, it was so good! Service was slow, but the staff were personable and pretty laid back. We had the Sashimi Appetizer and it was gooood. I couldn't resist so I ordered the Bottle Rocket next which is good, but I doubt I'd get it my next visit. Didn't get to the cocktails but did have saki, and a shot with my new friends ( Heroes ) 4 stars because of service and I don't think the salmon is wild caught...? Su Solo

Yelp
We came for the weekend, stayed in Airbnb near by, and we found this awesome place with some fresh sushi and some great miso soup. This place is definitely recommended. Our server Jessica was fast and very polite, and each one of the dishes was more delicious then the other. Thank you guys! See you next time in Atlanta!

Yelp
I reserved Bottle Rocket for my client's pre-Super Bowl lunch, on Sunday, February 3, 2019. The owners went out of their way to create an amazing experience for my client and guests. From the festive football-themed décor to the scrumptious buffet of very fresh sushi, fries, burgers and even charming football-themed chocolate-covered strawberries, no detail was left out to put everyone in a festive mood. Bottle Rocket is a very friendly neighborhood joint with an eclectic menu. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Love this place. It's quaint. It's friendly. It's the perception of a dive bar and yeah maybe it is but it's got great food. A definite locals hangout spot. Everyone knows each other. Patrons hold the door open for everyone and they are friendly with smiles. Smiles go a long way. The food is fabulous. Decent prices with service that matches.

Yelp
Wow. Amazing. Staff. Super friendly, helpful and welcoming. Food Um WTF. It was shit. I can't think of something nice to say. I guess in ten years living near it. This is why it's my first and last time for food. Tempura calamari greasy Mayonnaise "spicy sauce" or sweet and sour "moldy" chili sauce. The yellow tail scallion roll I took a video. Normal looking fish flesh and some pink slime colored mixed in. Tasted like nasty week old fish. I get how it works and it comes in frozen but keeping it and trying to "stretch" the shelf life? Drinks are ok, generic prices for near the MBS / castle berry hill. And lots of beers that are InBev mega crap like goose IPA. And as asking for the check neither waiter noticed the full plate of uneaten sushi that was nasty. As check came we mentioned it and they made the correction and apologized. This two stars represents the awesome servers and averaging against the food. The food deserves zero. Gas station sushi is better.

Yelp
Ran here after visiting a nearby spa for a quick dinner. It's sort of your standard dive bar! It's self seated and quaint. We ordered pretty quickly. The wait time for food was standard. We waited a little while for our sushi but the appetizers came out fairly quickly. We ordered the crab rangoons, the burrito egg roll, and a couple sushi rolls! I also tried a local craft cider which was amazing. Overall this place is pretty standard for sushi and not badly priced. It's a little hard to find because it's right under No Mas.
google avatar

Lauren R.

Yelp
My friend and I were starving and went to Bottle Rocket for an early dinner one night and had a not so great meal. I ordered the Vegetable fried rice ($8-ish) which sounded delicious on the menu being that the rice was fried with pineapple and coconut. My friend ordered 2 sushi rolls. Our food came out about 20-25 mins later which surprised me being that there was only one other patron in the restaurant. My fried rice was the worst that I have ever had. It was very mushy and wet. I could taste the coconut but the entire dish tasted very inauthentic. The oil and spices that they used must not have been traditional in fried rice dishes because it did not taste anything like fried rice that I have had many times before. Also it was the size of a side of fried rice, so not a good choice for anyone with an appetite. My friend said her sushi was okay and over-priced.
google avatar

Jade S.

Yelp
I have been traveling to Atlanta a lot recently and while there are so many options for restaurants to try, I keep coming back to Bottle Rocket because the sushi is so freaking good! All of the rolls I've had feature incredibly fresh fish, and it's pretty reasonably priced. I've never had issues with parking on the street, and I like the slightly-divey atmosphere. It's obvious that they have a core group of regulars that come in for drinks, and thus the vibe is very casual/neighborhood-bar-esque. My favorite dish by far is the yellowtail supuns. You get very generous chunks of fresh yellowtail with a perfect mix of salt and spice, from the soy sauce, jalapeno slices and sriracha dollops.
google avatar

Yelp
Here's a great tip: as an alternative to parking on the street, pull into the parking lot at No Mas which is right next door, tell them you want to visit Bottle Rocket and they'll let you park there for a $2.50 fee. Then you can walk through No Mas and right next door is Bottle Rocket. I was struck by how small the place was since I heard it was a pretty popular spot, I can imagine it getting really crowded. Luckily, when we visited there was only one large group and the rest of the tables were completely empty. We settled in and ordered some drinks. I picked the Sessions dark Lager which was so yummy, creamy, refreshing and delicious. My wife ordered a dark and stormy which she said was pretty good. Our appetizer, the crab Rangoon, was just okay for me. Crab Rangoon is something I order often from various Japanese restaurants as its one of my favorite apps. When I bite into it I'm expecting an explosion of crab, cream cheese and a bit of the bready wonton; with this crab Rangoon I got crab and wonton but I tasted ZERO cream cheese which was sorely disappointing. I NEED that cream cheese man. For our main course, we ordered the Beat Box, the Ruffio, The Bottle Rocket and the 9.6'er. I don't have much to comment except to say that everything was...OK... nothing wowed us or compelled us to come back again. I remember one of the rolls being SO spicy that I couldn't eat more than one but unfortunately I cant remember which one it was. I don't remember much about the taste of ANY of the rolls to be honest and that's the problem. Bottle Rocket wasn't memorable to me. I just left with a feeling of overall "Meh-ness". Sushi is so expensive that I want to be WOWED every time, that didn't happen here but maybe it was just me?

Yelp
We stopped into Bottle Rocket on a huge detour from heading to Athens to watch the game (Go Dawgs!). We just kind of wanted some food to chomp on while we watched the game. We had no idea what was in store. Everything was so good! We ordered a lot of food. Way more than we expected or had room to eat...but the trooper I am, I soldiered on. The menu had a good variety of food and drink options. We had sushi, we had the JFC, we had tuna tataki, we had Japanese dumplings and a Big Ass Eggroll! Everything that we ordered tasted and appeared as expected and was served at the appropriate temperature. The only thing that I could have done without was the Big Ass Eggroll. It tasted okay, but it reminded me more of something I would eat after a night of hard drinking. What I realized from eating this eggroll is that eggrolls just don't taste as good if they don't have the right wonton-to-filling ratio. Asian restaurants make them the size they do for a reason. The Big Ass Eggroll had a ton of filling and the wonton wrap had a crunch-texture of being dipped in some kind of batter, possibly to help hold the wonton wrapper together to keep in all of the filling. Again, it was okay, but it just wasn't as good as I expected. Overall, I still give this place 4-stars because the food was good, the service was great, and the drinks were very good. I'd go back and try a few other things off of the menu. I'm really curious about some more of the sushi options and cockails.

Yelp
Normally, I don't do this, but uhhh...I had to give this experience 2 stars :-( We ordered calamari, but were informed that they didn't have any that day. So we ordered the Big Ass Egg Roll, which would've been tasty if it wasn't dripping with grease. I held out hope for the cocktails, since I read online that they were potent. I chose the Zombie because it was supposed to have a lot of likka in it. It tasted like it had a lot of sugary syrup and no likka. So I settled for a Long Beach Iced Tea....which also tasted like it had no likka in it. Our server didn't seem very intent on being pleasant with us, though we didn't give her a hard time about the grease-dripping Big Ass Egg Roll or my lack of even a hint of a buzz from the cocktails I tried. For our sushi we ordered the Bottle Rocket, Whistle Pop, spicy tuna, and Philly rolls. The spicy rolls were super spicy. I stay away from spicy things, but the Hubs couldn't even take the heat of these rolls. My Bottle Rocket was good. And the Philly was fine. I really had high hopes for this place. I may give it another shot on another day, but right now I'm kinda 'meh' about it...bummer.

Yelp
I visited Bottle Rocket on a rainy Sunday evening. I was reluctant to go because it was training and I wasn't sure about the parking situation but I decided to at least drive by. The rain worked in my favor because I was able to park in the lot behind No Mas! There were only a few people, who seemed to be regulars, in the restaurant. This place is SMALL. A bar with about 14 seats and maybe 8 tables. I took a seat at the bar and he bartender asked if he could help me. I was a little put off thinking ummm yes, can I see a menu please. But from there things started looking up. The bartender was friendly and attentive. I asked for his help narrowing down my order selection and I settled on the Bubble Gum roll. It did not disappoint. I will definitely return here when in the mood for sushi!

Yelp
Bajeez! I love Bottle Rocket. Stashed away in the middle of no where, but an absolutely delicious find! Fantasic...I mean Fantastic specialty cocktails and sushi! Best I've had in Atlanta thus far! The atmosphere is colorful, fun, playful, nerdy and little sexy! Bar is rad and overall decorum. And staff! Woo! Love em! Unfortunately, only 4 stars because it's not child friendly at all. No high chairs, no room, and nothing a youngin could eat. Super sad about this. I have a toddler and he is always attached to my hip, except for this one night...my husband's and mines anniversary. So, I'll probably only eat here twice a year and that's a shame :(

Yelp
They have nice service and a decent tuna burger. It's just decent. I had the edamame and big ass egg roll, it was ok. The drinks were good and strong but I probably wouldn't choose this place for sushi again. It's the only spot in Castleberry Hill for sushi.

Yelp
Go to sleep Christmas Eve with a sushi bar, wake up in the New Year with an American/Asian Fusion hot spot with awesome cocktails...that's what I call a Happy New Year! I will say that there are times I will miss WASABi, but Bottle Rocket definitely has a bit more flair to it and the food so far is perfect. Since it was a soft opening they only had a few choices, but to give you an initial idea: Tuna Burgers, Hamburgers, Strip Steak and Salmon Salad were the options. The tuna burger had a side of aioli and the combination was really something, the tuna was great...no surprise since they didn't completely dismantle the sushi bar, just reduced the size a little and raised the bar (so to speak). The sweet potato fries could be a little bigger, but then again it's probably better they're not so I don't gorge myself on them. I was told the burger was decent and the salmon salad looked quite tasty. The cocktails all sound fantastic and looking forward to trying more going forward. The size of the space is still the same, but the seating was rearranged and the facelift that some of the locals helped make happen really jazzed the place up. WTG on a revitalization of a staple location in Castleberry Hill...so far so good in my book.

Yelp
We arrived as the opened and was taken a back by the smell and decor for a sushi spot! But low and behold the sushi rolls and appetizers are truly good..despite the dive bar appearance they kick out some good grub.. Check it out

Yelp
At the offer of the owner of making it right, I went back to Bottle Rocket last week with a couple friends. My friends were familiar with the place and said they had ordered some food from here prior through Post Mates and their food order turned out fine. Well, Caviar isn't in business anymore in Atlanta and that was the service I had used to order from Bottle Rocket. They informed me they're in the works of doing some delivery service with Uber Eats as I had suggested. It's next to No Mas Cantina (where I have never been either to my friends' shock) and is a small bar. We sat down and quickly ordered some drinks. I ordered a moscow mule and D&T ordered a whiskey drink. All very good. I ordered a sashimi appetizer and spicy tuna roll as the owner said the best value was by ordering sashimi appetizer and a roll (it's cheaper than a sashimi & sushi combo). My friends got two orders of the rufio roll and some appetizers. Rufio roll was really good and I liked the fact that the spicy tuna roll was just a light toss of sriracha, sesame oil, sesame seeds, and scallions. The sashimi pieces were rather large and the rolls were very filling. Price is right for the area and if you're looking to grab some great sushi with some cocktails, this is a great place to hang out in the area. I would definitely come back here again as the space is small and feels really intimate.

Yelp
Unimpressive, flavorless and more of a sushi place for those that don't mind if the fish isn't fresh, because they just drench it in soy sauce before they eat. - Street parking - Hip interior - Friendly service - Basic menu, more about booze - Bland, old sushi I found this place on Yelp knowing it was close to the Georgia Dome before the Falcons game. We took a shot, knowing it wouldn't be the most flavorful, authentic sushi. We at least expected it to be fresh, considering the good reviews. I guess these people are rating more on the night scene than food quality. I started with the Temaki Hand Roll ($7) that comes with the option of eel, spicy tuna, or salmon skin. I went with the spicy tuna and ended up putting soy sauce into it for flavor because it was dry. I am not used to hand rolls coming with so much rice, usually more tuna. I thought I would try the whistle...POP! ($13) that has Serrano pepper, tempura shrimp, avocado, and is topped with spicy tuna & tempura fried eel. For the price I expected more flavor. But I guess it just didn't heavy any because the fish wasn't fresh? I don't know. It looked pretty though. My wife got a basic California roll ($7) for my wife, simple and came with larger chunks of crab than usual. My wife finished with the Bottle Rocket ($12) that includes shrimp tempura, avocado, and cream cheese topped with spicy crab salad, eel sauce, spicy mayo. crusted with panko & flash fried. This was the most flavored roll of them all and was actually worth the cost. Each bite made my mouth water. I really wanted some good sushi before the game and ended up having to eat a pizza within an hour because the sushi just didn't fill my craving or hunger. I wouldn't try this place again, I have had better and expect more than pretty looking fish from $15 rolls.

Yelp
Best sushi downtown! The sushi chef is amazing he always makes the perfect roll, he is consistently #1! All the bartenders take great care of their guests. Great for lunch or date night. Intimate castleberry local feel. Friendly atmosphere :) great drinks! They are pet friendly and have limited outdoor seating, pet water bowl and doggie treats!

Yelp
This was so fun! Tuesday night they have a DJ and the whole vibe in the restaurant was so cool!!! Our food was delicious! We had a group of six and ordered a lot--all delicious!! My favorites were the Aloha roll, Yellowtail Serrano Supuns, and the Bottle a Rocket Rolls. We ordered seconds of all those. Would definitely go again--especially on a Tuesday for the DJ vibe!!

Yelp
This was a great place to start our arts stroll of Castleberry Heights. Good selection of drafts on tap for $5.50/pint, and the wine selections are great for only $6.50. My wife and I shared a Whistle Pop! sushi roll and fries ($13,4), and they were both great. We eyed the ahi tuna burger, and there were several other items to order that were intriguing and reasonably priced. Service was very friendly and attentive. We will return!

Yelp
I love this place. I live in the neighborhood so coming here was almost mandatory. I will admit that at first I thought it was weird for a place to serve burgers and sushi, but their sushi is pretty AMAZING! Please try the bottle rocket roll. And if you like a good cocktail, try the cocktail with the cream soda (it's quite tasty). Parking can be limited, with just street parking, so I suggest taking uber. Other than that, this place is the perfect neighborhood spot with a friendly neighborhood vibe. It's quaint, and perfect for a date or chatting with new friends. Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
Overpriced ! Chicken sandwich and barely any fries not worth it. Have to try the sushi I guess.
