"If you're hoping to experience some of Thomas Keller's Napa magic but don’t have the time or the budget for a full meal in Yountville, this isn't a bad choice, as you can get all the baked goods for which he's famous (it's perfect for breakfast on the go). There are outposts in New York (Columbus Circle and Rockefeller Plaza), LA (Beverly Hills) and Vegas (The Venetian). Don't leave without a big box of the famous macarons."

18 Decadently Delicious Cookies in NYC - Eater NY

"Thomas Keller’s bakery concept, tucked away in the Time Warner Center a floor below Per Se, delivers reliably solid if pricey breads, pastries, and sandwiches. The highlight among the sweets is the Better Nutter, a gourmet riff on the addictive childhood staples Nutter Butters. Two large, perfectly pliable peanut butter cookies dotted with chopped peanuts sandwich buttercream filling. Eating one in a single sitting basically constitutes a full meal. There’s an additional location at Rockefeller Center." - Paul Schrodt

Bouchon Bakery in the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle is a true secret to every New Yorker and in-the-know visitor. With a generous floor area on the third floor of the building, the café-bistro is easily accessible by the building escalators and elevators. The coffee, tea and chocolate drinks are of the best quality. The pastries and sandwiches are French-inspired, with a twist of urban New York flair, delightfully baked, always super fresh, and beautifully presented. The cream puff is one of my favorites. There is lovely seating overlooking the spacious building atrium, and a table service section where lunch and dinner is served. Do visit when you are in the Time Warner Center Building, or nearby.

At this point, it has become a pilgrimage to eat at this Bouchon when in NYC. Not a mall person, nor eating at a mall - this is the exception. Has never failed to deliver with the view of the park, people watching, and best of all the spectacular food and bakery. Great, swift, and thoughtful service. Lovely for brunch or late lunch especially. If you are a big party, make reservations, there is a wait, its a popular spot and always busy. The bar area is fantastic but not great for more than 2-3 people. Besides the seasonal delicious soups, won't point out other things on the menu; cause they all are pretty great; sandwiches, the salads, the seafood. Sampled them all pretty much and all good. Some dishes were a bit too large for me, but could be perfect size for you. Bon appetit!

During my two-week trip to NYC, I had my favorite almond croissant, one at a time every single day, at several bakeries. In my personal opinion, the flaky and buttery almond croissant I had at Buchon, was the best. And the sweet scent of generous almond marzipan paste like was the most delicious, not crazy sweet either. It really make me feeling as my best fantasy memory of wanting to go to NYC again after Covid thing ends.

Watch the sunset here. Great views. Good wine. I️ sat at the bar and ordered appetizers. I️ found the food very one dimensional. Not imaginative at all. Bartender is great. You will usually need a reservation to sit at a table in the restaurant. They have a cafe where you can seat yourself. I️ like to come here before seeing a performance at Lincoln Center. Prices are fairly high.

The parfait I had here was marvelous!! Their croissants are also very good. It's a nice place to stop amidst your daily bustle for a light meal and a good view. You can see right into Columbus Circle from the seating area. The staff was also very nice and welcoming.

Google
Location at the top of The Shops at Colombus Circle meant we were able to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade while we ate a buffet style meal. Food was nice, view was considerably obscured by seasonal decorations, meaning the experience was unique but a little underwhelming overall given the price of the tickets required for the experience. Buffet consisted of seafood, turkey, bacon, mashed potatoes, various pastries and other baked goods. Staff rarely visited our table to offer to refill drinks or to remove cutlery and plates. A nice experience but now that we've done it once we'd likely spend the money elsewhere if we returned to NYC.

Google
Grabbed coffee and small bites from Bouchon when visited Columbus circle. They have a seated restaurant open area too which closes early however the bakery/coffee counter is open. Good location for some good coffee or tea.

Was in the neighborhood and decided to treat myself once in a while with good breakfast. A little bit pricey but definitely worth it. Nice view, awesome staff and food is delicious. My steak salad took some time. Steak itself was done for my preferences and salad was fresh. They also gave me to go cup of coffee when I asked to wrap my meal :)

Yelp
Came here right after the Macy's day parade, surprised we were able to get a seat! The wait wasn't too long and they handled the timing well. Had a great meal, a great view, and our service was awesome! Thank you Daryl and the staff for working on Thanksgiving and making our experience wonderful! Huge shout out to Daryl, he made our Thanksgiving brunch one to remember.

Yelp
Positives: the food scratched the itch. I wanted a smoked salmon tartine and it was absolutely perfect. Food really delicious and do recommend. On the pricier side but it's a bougie area of NY so to be expected. very beautiful seating area and view Negatives: my greatest issue is with the service. I went at prime time: Sunday brunch. They are clearly understaffed. You cannot seat yourself, which is fine, except they do not have a host! I have no problem with waiting on a busy day, but tables would turn over and the servers wouldn't seat you, so you're just waiting while there are empty tables right there. We were finally sat and had to wait a while even for water. On Sunday they should be much better prepared than this. For the price, I want much better service. My only issue with food: my cold brew was the most expensive coffee on the menu and it was an absolutely tiny serving. There's not even any work that goes into serving a cold brew, you just pour it (unlike a latte or cappuccino) so for it being the most expensive coffee item I really expect a bigger glass.

Yelp
Tartinery Cafe in NYC is a great spot for a quick and delicious meal. They had a lot of tables, so the wait shouldn't be an issue. I tried the Egg & Smoked Salmon Toast, and it was fresh and flavorful, with just the right balance of creamy egg and smoky salmon. The ambiance is cozy and perfect for a casual brunch or coffee break. The service was friendly, though the food was only good, which is why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, I'd definitely recommend stopping by for a tasty, relaxed meal in the city!

Yelp
We were looking for a light lunch on a warm day at the conclusion of a five-mile walk in beautiful Central Park. A quick check on Yelp showed the Tartinery Cafe' was close and open. After navigating the escalators to the third floor, we arrived at the restaurant and a table was available. I ordered: Warm Rice Bowl: $19.50 Sweet potato, lentils, spinach, soft-boiled egg, cilantro, with chicken Ham & Cheese Croissant: $7.50 As soon as the bowl arrived, I was concerned. Given a three-letter word to describe how it looked, I'd defer to dry. And after my first bite, I could quickly confirm this, and if I had four letters, I'd go with arid. There was no dressing, the spinach was completely dry. The rice was dry, the sweet potato was dry, the chicken was dry and the egg wasn't runny, so it didn't help much. It was one of the worst rice bowls I've eaten. The waitress was prompt with our order, then disappeared, so we didn't have an opportunity to rectify. It was busy here, all the tables were taken, perhaps their Tartines are better. I'm unlikely to find out, as I'm unlikely to return.

Yelp
Lovely little French cafe in the shops at Columbus Circle. I've only gone in the to go section but there's a table service section in the center of the floor with amazing views of Columbus Circle and the park. Food is fresh and good. I had my doubts but I got the kale Caesar salad with pecorino and chicken, and wow it was great. Not a huge salad bowl and kind of expensive at $18 with the chicken but the flavors were so fresh and tasted gourmet for a takeout salad so I can't say I regret it. It was worth it for a healthy treat. The dressing was really good. Not a standard Caesar dressing maybe it's a French version but it was perfectly creamy and savory. The kale was raw, so I was a little worried it would be too raw and tough, but it wasn't at all. It's soft enough to eat as a regular salad with the dressing and was fresh and good. The chicken was also something special and different. It might've been shredded and mixed with seasonings and a little mayonnaise or something because it held together nicely almost like a light chicken salad. It was a good portion of meat so I feel like this made it worth the extra price. Also I think they use freshly grated cheese. For a premade to go salad, it was pretty great. I was very pleased and satisfied. I went back on another visit and tried a plain croissant and hot chocolate. The croissant was dry and not very tasty, and the hot chocolate was a little disappointing kind of tasted like a regular Swiss Miss. I don't know if they're always dry like that or maybe it's because they're sitting out and I can't tell when they were made, so that's always a tough call when I'm trying to choose a croissant or pastry. Disappointed with it this time. But their coffee is good. Might go back to try a tartine next time. Ambiance is nice if you can get a seat.

Yelp
Conveniently located on the 3rd floor of the shops at Columbus Circle this was a great find! It's busy and bustling but the staff is attentive and agile. It's noisy but that's to be expected in this location. Not too loud but not quiet. The food was incredible! I had eggs and cheese with avocado on a brioche bun. The bun was so fresh and flavorful. The eggs and cheese light and airy and they did not skimp on the avocado! Cost is not cheap but quality isn't cheap. Would def come back.

Yelp
I've been a fan of Tartinery as far as I can remember. Several locations in NYC so I'm no stranger to their signature dish, the tartine. The cafe has a simple yet sophisticated dining menu and quite streamlined at that. Very European fare. Croissants, tartines of course, Coffee by Irving Farm, fresh juices, and even alcohol for those who want spirits and wine. My favorite menu items any day, just to name a few: - Croque Madame w/ the sunny side up egg (which I ordered this visit) - Creamy Burrata - it's just simply delicious - Warm Goat Cheese Salad - Egg and cheese brioche (which my mini me ordered this visit) - Avocado toast The staff at this location were very friendly and we didn't even have to wait long to be seated, like two minutes at the most. We were here on a Saturday afternoon at around 2pm. It was a bit busy with the brunch crowd dispersing but a few tables just finished so timing wise, we arrived at a good time. The view is why you want to come to this location, a prime seat at any table, where you can dine and people watch or enjoy the view of the Christopher Columbus statue and the traffic rotary outside of Columbus Circle. There's also comfortable air conditioning. Hee hee

Yelp
I had a spectacular time here and cannot wait to return. I usually go for the quick to go station that they have further down (which is also awesome). Today I had time to sit and I do not regret it! This small, but well put together space for this restaurant is just what the space deserves in this mini mall. If you're in the mall and are wondering if you should eat here YES THE ANSWER IS YES. The service here is awesome. Quick and very attentive to your needs. Our food was QUALITY, healthy and well made. Our coffees were PERFECT, I looked behind the bar to see the guy making them and noticed he really takes his time. I cannot wait to be back! 100% recommend

Yelp
Cafe inside Columbus circle shops 59th Street, NYC Had early Saturday breakfast. The Cafe was located on the 3rd floor with a nice view. I had turkey, brie, bacon, tomato, spinach open sandwich which was filling with side of salad and my friend had smoked salmon toast with cream fraiche dill which was tasty. My black coffee was not too bitter but no server checked with us if everything was ok and had to call out for a napkin and our check.

Steph S.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. The staff members are all gems and make my day whenever I grab a latte. They make amazing iced lattes with oat milk.
google avatar

Yelp
I sadly don't really get the hype. Maybe I got the wrong items (grab and go type pastries?), but the croissants and ficelles tasted decent but were pretty pricey for what they were. I tried the ham & cheese croissant, the brie & fig ficelle and the prosciutto ficelle. Taste wasn't bad, but amount and quality was a little disappointing. Does the job if in a pinch, but in my opinion there are more enticing places in the area.

Yelp
I don't know about you, but I can't stop calling this building the Time Warner Center. It's been the Deutsche Bank Center for a while now, but I just don't think it trips off the tongue. The name change doesn't stop Jamie W. and me from walking through the retail floors with the great view of Columbus Circle, and that was our excuse to make a quick stop at this cafe on the third floor. The last time I was in this space it was Thomas Keller's Bouchon. Man, it was fabulous (review: https://yelp.to/MhwoBKvm85). This time Jamie W. and I were just looking for a snack. We picked up a $3.75 Canele and a $3.75 Lemon Madeleine (photo: https://yelp.to/wMWEvnc2CX). They were nice bites but nothing that changed our lives or made us say 'Deutsche Bank Center'. A couple of $3.50 burnt Drip Coffees (photo: https://yelp.to/swLkHtqcGo) and a screaming toddler led us to an early exit. PASTRIES - 3.5 stars...just enough to sustain us AMBIANCE - 3 stars...the seating in front of the bakery was pretty disorganized SERVICE - 3 stars...not much interaction TOTAL - 3 stars...just a French pastry break and nothing more RELATED - Hungry in NYC? Yelp
This cute little establishment was perfect place have a lovely nosh very European feeling. Located in the Time Warner building in midtown Manhattan. My butter squash soup was delicious the flavors of fall were amazing with nutmeg aroma. My ice tea was perfect bold with a slice of lemon.

Yelp
A great little place in Columbus Circle Mall - wonderful views, small but good menu and great prices. I was waiting for a friend, so I had the chia, coconut, fruit bowl for $8.00. Yes, $8.00. It was a breakfast portion and very enjoyable. The chia was in a sort of pudding - almond milk, I think. The fruit was fresh. I enjoyed it as a treat but in fact it was healthy. If you have to get a load off, or just want a snack - Tartinery is the best choice. Some people were having a full lunch and that looked good too.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place while exploring today. The food and drinks were great for a quick bite! We were seated right away when we walked in. We wanted something fresh and light and everything we got was perfect! The sweet ginger juice and berry smoothie were delicious. Highly recommend the burrata sourdough and strawberry sourdough sandwiches if you're looking for a sweet and savory combo
google avatar

Yelp
Got the chia bowl to enjoy by the bar, overlooking fantastic views of central park. Had the pleasure of getting to know the bartender, whose backstory was quite fascinating. This was the refreshing plate pf food I was craving on a hot, sunny day. You really can have it all.

Yelp
I would give them 3.5 stars. My sister and I dined at this Cafe which is located on the 3rd floor of the mall at Columbus Circle. It looked cute and quaint. We ordered a coffee, a creamy burrata tartine and smoked salmon tartine. The favorite was the creamy burrata tartine because the burrata was fresh. It was yummy. The smoked salmon one was alright. I felt like it was dry and salty. The coffee wasn't that good also. Maybe it was an off day. I had the smoked salmon one before at the Grand Central Station location and enjoyed it. However, today it was just okay. Definitely try the creamy burrata tartine. The service was great. The food came out pretty quickly and the service staff were friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Like the book says, it was the best of times and it was the worst of times. We ordered wine and. A cocktail and asked for water. We were informed that they didn't have enough glasses and they had to run down through the dish machine. We got our drinks, which were all auctioned off. Had to flag the server down to order. Server was just an order taker and had no recommendations. Food took about 45 minutes and came in waves and was again, auctioned off. Had to ask for silverware. Food was just ok with the exception of the lemon tart which was incredible. I also had the seasonal spritz, it was cranberry, which was a delight! Probably won't go back.
google avatar

Terrance G.

Yelp
Came here for a quick bite to eat with a few friends while exploring the city. It's a wide open area on the 3rd floor of the mall and they have a variety of drink and food options. The mimosas are good, who can mess those up. The egg sandwich i had, added bacon of course, was delicious as well and recommended. Our waiter was good and attentive ensuring we all were very well taken care of.
google avatar

Annie C.

Yelp
I had very low expectations cuz it's in the mall, but the ambiance was actually really nice. I got the lunch combo ham and swiss and butternut squash. It was unexpectedly very very good and filling. Everything was the perfect texture, and all the ingredients complimented each other well. Service was a bit slow, and there always seemed to be a line of people waiting with no one around.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
2.5/5. Stopped by for a quick lunch, food was okay. We ordered the avocado toast, egg and cheese brioche, and chia bowl. The avocado toast was bland, and I personally didn't like the bread they used.

Yelp
We came here for a brief respite from the sunny weather and to rest our feet. We had been walking the whole day. There are two parts to this place. A sit down area with table service and another section with no table service but there are high top tables and chairs to sit. You'll order from the take out counter there. We opted for table service though the chairs were not the most comfortable. We had the Up Beet juice which consisted of beet, apple, carrot, lemon and ginger. We needed to hydrate ourselves from the hot weather. The service was ok, the server was quite apologetic about the delay in getting our drinks. He explained the juices were from the other kitchen so that the noise from the juicer won't disturb the diners. We were not in a hurry so that was fine. I guess people come here for a bit of the view and light meal. The menu was basic French fare like salad and sandwiches. Nothing too heavy. You can also get cocktails and other alkie bevvies too.
google avatar

Zack W.

Yelp
3.5/5 Despite my expectations Tartinery would be your regular tourist trap at Columbus circle, I was pleasantly surprised by my time! The portions were pretty generous, food tasty, and not that expensive overall! We got a chicken salad open-faced sandwich and a lemon tart for ~$20 total. It was a snack split between the two of us to tide over, but was quite good overall. The one issue we had was the service: they were pretty swamped and unorganized, which led us to have some delays/flagging them down for water, menu, and the check.
google avatar

Denise A.

Yelp
We stopped by to meet up with my son and his girlfriend for cocktails before our dinner reservation at one of the restaurants located in the shops and restaurants at Columbus Circle. Open concept on the 3rd floor. The staff was friendly and the bartender most accommodating to our special requests. However, a server who had not waited on us brought us the check and stated they were closing in 2 minutes. What? So we directly asked the bartender if we could have another round and he kindly obliged. 20 minutes later they told us they were closing in 8 minutes. So, not sure if they close at 8 or 9p.m but it would've been nice to have been alerted ahead of time. There was a definite language barrier, but all in all a nice and reasonably priced place to grab a drink or bite if when perusing the shops inside.

Yelp
I stopped by here for a quick bite and coffee before heading out for the rest of my day. There's actually a sit down area as well as a to go counter in the mall I chose to go to the counter and picked up an iced cappuccino and a ham sandwich on a . Iced cappuccino with solid, I like that they kept the milky foam top that kind of makes a cappuccino a cappuccino. The sandwich had a nice crust to it with sharp notes from the cheese. I wish the bread was fresher as it was a little tough however, I've come to learn that those who love a baguette, kind of aim for that. Anyway, cool place to stop by as you're on your way out if you're visiting the city to explore the rest of Columbus Circle and Central Park.

Yelp
Obnoxious manager. cannot speak with respect. takes 30 mins for salad. rubbish place.

Yelp
A great brunch stop with healthy options and a fun atmosphere. This cafe is located inside the Columbus circle mall. The ingredients tasted fresh and light. A perfect brunch to share with friends. Come early or expect a long wait on a weekend. It's popular! The fresh orange juice was sweet and tart. The quinoa salad was light and airy, yet filling. The egg and salmon had a great mix of dill and onions that went very well together. Lastly, the chia breakfast with fruit tasted like a breakfast dessert. After eating we felt energetic and lightly full.

Yelp
Tartinery is located inside the Shops at Columbus Circle. There is some cute seating available with a view looking onto Columbus Circle and service was okay. The ricotta and prosciutto tartine was good and I would get it again!

Yelp
Ambiance - A (great easy meeting for friends or dates better than dirty NYC Starbucks) Service - A (hit or miss) Food - B+ to C (hit or miss) ****UPDATE SINCE THE PANDEMIC**** Breakfast options are very small portions. The egg and cheese brioche is not worth the money because you only get 1/4 of a small egg. Not even a baby chicken laid the egg. There is way more bread and cheese than the egg. Lunch options for the salads are medium sized and more appropriate for the price. Smoothies are tasty but don't waste the money on the protein addition because you are only getting 2g of protein. You can boil a couple of eggs at home and get more. Desserts are very tasty.

Renie M.

Yelp
The food is so bad. Chicken tasted like tuna. The butternut squash soup was water. They brought me the tuna and the chicken to compare, and they literally look the same because it was so ground up. It looked like dog food and it smelled like it too.

Yelp
I'm really torn between a 3 and a 4 star review, but the service was really terrible. It's in this mall type place at Columbus Circle, right by Central Park. The view is pretty nice, you're sitting right in front of these huge windows looking towards the park. I got the burrata tartine and it was good, fresh, no complaints! they have wifi, and is a decent place to work through lunch like I did. Cons: The service was roughhh. I was seated quickly enough, they weren't too busy.. and then I never saw anyone. The people at the table next to me had to tell their waiter that I'd been trying to flag them down. They never just came to the table, I had to flag em down for water and my check at the end. Didn't ruin the lunch for me, but definitely dragged it out. *worth mentioning, you don't have to the whole sit down/waiter thing. They have a place you can walk up and order off to the side, with a small seating area. Next time I'm 100% gonna go that route.

Catalina N.

Yelp
We visited Tartinery on Columbus Circle for brunch on 4th of July. We had reservations for 6 so they seated us promptly. We had Kale Caesar salad, salmon and poached egg toast, ham and egg tartine, mushroom soup and toast combos. The salads were very good: fresh and tasty. The toasts and tartines were ok. Probably the bread could've been better. Ambiance was good, very busy and lively. The service was ok, probably due to a busy holiday. Our food arrived but was missing one of the plates. We asked and they had forgotten about it, brought promptly when we asked. We expected the server to come back to check in on things but it hadn't happened.

Yelp
I was excited to try out this trendy french spot but had a rather unfortunate experience with my partner and MIL. First, we sit down and realize our table is missing a menu QR code. We tried to flag down a server and wait to see if anyone would be bringing it to us--long story short: no one did. We ended up having to borrow one from the table next to us, which wasn't the biggest deal in the world, but marked the start of some awful service. After deciding what we wanted, we waited ~15 minutes in the hopes that our server would come to take our order or check in on us, none of which happened :/. We had to ask for a server 3 times before anyone came. Now, I have empathy for the servers as they did seem overworked and perhaps understaffed, but we were treated very rudely overall which I found unnecessary and unfortunate. The food was alright but overpriced for the amount of food you're getting. I read that they have a small seating area upstairs where you can avoid the sit down/server experience, but it's... telling that in order to enjoy your experience you have to steer clear of anyone working there. I won't be back.

Yelp
I came here for dinner with a friend before going to a show at Lincoln Center Theatre. The service was fast and friendly. The food was great for the price point. I ordered the butternut squash soup (it was a bit sweet for my tastes), and a croqué monsieur. My friend ordered the chestnut and mushroom soup (not pictured) and the quinoa bowl. We were both full by the end of our meal! This is a cute place, with a great price and location. I've added this to my list of places to eat when in a rush.

Yelp
Just had a cappuccino from here that was truly bad. They clearly offer to training to the baristas.

Yelp
I used to come here all the time and boy has the good and service gone downhill. The kale Caesar is just kale and a few chick peas. The server didn't know if they had salad dressings. Weird. While the food was boring, the service was terrible. I had to keep flagging down the server for things. No chicken and avocado came in salad as ordered. Asked for the check twice. Nice view out but not worth it.

Yelp
I came here on a Thursday afternoon to get a snack. I ordered the smoked salmon tartine. I'll say that it was okay, and for $20 I could have done better. But that's not what I came to say. As I waited for my food to arrive, I checked out the pleasant view of three floors above Central Park South, and how nice it was that afternoon. "GET OUT OF THE WAY MOVE" came from the guy who unceremoniously almost threw my plate down in front of me, hen left. Wow. Talk about getting plucked out of a chill moment. I don't know what this is about, but management needs to check the attitude of the employees before letting them loose with paying customers and the public. I told my server what happened. She was shocked, then she asked me if he said it in Spanish, as if that would have made it better. What does that mean? Do brown people think it's ok to treat other brown people like basura when they are the paying customer? Is this what we're doing now? So warning and trigger alert. It you are thinking of heading to Tartinery, be prepared to be treated like basura. That's Spanish for trash. In case you didn't already know. The young man who was rude to me was a shorter person, brown skin, black hair cut short. He should be fired. I will never come here again. This place is a time waster, with mediocre, overpriced food and rude and racist staff. GET OUT OF THE WAY MOVE

Yelp

Yelp
Good food. Fresh ingredients, bougie, healthy, and order more than one entree. Matchalicious smoothie so good. Make sure you order one. The smoothie, was not that sweet and you can taste the matcha. Big plus. Great view. Overall the atmosphere was welcoming and positive.

Yelp
This was a nice break from hectic shopping, with good, unhurried service, and a reasonably priced menu. As always in New York, the seating is close, and you could end up finding about the investment opportunities that the folks at the next table are pursuing.

Yelp
Convenient location to meet with a friend for breakfast with a view. We both had avocado toast and coffee, nothing spectacular, but the view and service helped to boost the rating.

Came here with my cousin who was visiting since we wanted something cafe like and close to my work. Open set up in the 3rd floor overlooking the balcony of the mall. Food was overall pretty good as well as the baked goods. They are a little more on the pricey side so I don't think this would be a regular thing. On another day I actually got a too good to go bag from here and the croissants were pretty good!

Yelp
Quite popular place! Nice service by the waitress. It is also a great location, right beside Central Park.

Yelp
I've had this place bookmarked since it opened last month, and I finally got to go yesterday to try them out. Located on the third floor of The Shops at Columbus Circle, away from the hustle and bustle of the first two floors, Tartinery offers fast casual dining with wonderful views of Central Park. The café has mostly high café table seating but there is also a separate section called The Bar, with linen covered tables and small bar, assumingly serving alcohol. Since I do not really drink, I immediately went to the café section to order my food. The menu offers lots of French pastries, salads, smoothies, craft coffee and desserts, but the main focus of this little café is the tartine, or the open-faced sandwich. I ordered two different tartines, one savory and one sweet. I got the Smoked Salmon tartine ($18.50) with crème fraiche, capers and radish. It was really delicious, ingredients tasted fresh, and they definitely did not skimp on the smoked salmon. And then I also ordered the Nutella tartine ($9) with caramelized bananas. This was actually my favorite of the two. I thought the Nutella with the warm caramelized bananas on sourdough bread was a great combination. The food is here really good, but you definitely pay for location. I would recommend coming anytime from 11am to 5pm when they offer the lunch combo. For $12.50, you can get your choice of soup and small tartine. If you go after 5pm, the full sized tartines are $14-$18.50.

Yelp
3.5 / 5.0 - This is a nice spot inside The Shops at Columbus Circle, which just opened a few months ago. It's in the perfect location for taking a break or catching up with an old friend. If you're seated by the atrium, you have a wonderful view of Columbus Circle. There are glass partitions in between the tables and menus you scan with your mobile phones. I went just for tea, so I had a Chai Latte, which was a little on the sweeter side. The waiter was nice and had asked me how sweet I wanted it when I was ordering, and that he could remake it if I didn't like it--although I didn't ask him to. Tartinery also has a take-out shop right across the hallway, with sandwiches, salads, baked goods and coffee from Irving Farm. Their tartines also look delicious, so I'll have to try one sometime.

Yelp
IMPORTANT INFO: So, if you are planning on sitting with someone, or getting work done, this is pertinent. This Tartinery is split into two separate seating areas. One is connected to the kitchen, with a line of small standing tables, and the other is detached, with larger tables for talking/working (cafe-sized). I ordered from the kitchen, and waited in line to sit in the area with larger tables. I was hoping to get some work done on the desks while I drank coffee and...ordered more food. The host was incredibly friendly, and after cleaning the table and sitting me down, another employee came out and actually got angry that I sat down. He let me know that I had already ordered so I was NOT going to be able to sit at the table anymore. I'm not sure what traumatic experience he had with people sitting down, but he picked violence almost immediately. Another employee let him know that it was fine and that I was going to order food. He got mildly embarrassed and then doubled down and raised his voice. Everyone just kind of freezes and watches. Thankfully, we could all experience this together. Mind you, I literally just stood there smiling, as I got yelled at, for choosing to sit down. The vibe was BAD. I left because everyone was uncomfortable, and I felt the eyes of endless pity watch me find seating elsewhere. Oddly enough, no one needed the table. He just...felt like taking out his anger on someone? I work in food service and it was the first time I've ever seen the actual employee pull a Karen on a customer. The croque monsieur I ordered was pretty good. Just be aware that you might have a very turbulent experience eating your little pastry.

Yelp
Went there at around 3:30 pm and was surprised to see how crowded it was. While service was spotty, when the food came I understood why it was crowded. The food was terrific. It is light, fresh and really good. What keeps me from giving it five stars is the service. There were too few waiters for the crowd and the high customer turnover. Nevertheless, it was a perfect respite from the madhouse that this part of NYC has become.

Yelp
Tartinery has very tasty food! I've mainly ordered from them through the Too Good To Go app, so my review is based on these experiences. They are located on the 3rd floor of the mall at Columbus Circle. The to-go area is to the left of the escalators, and there is a dine-in area to the right, complete with a small bar. The staff is pretty friendly, and the woman behind the counter even asked if I had any allergies-- which is not mandatory for TGTG orders, but was an exceptionally nice touch. I got a few of their mini-baguette sandwiches-- Brie + fig and ham & cheese. So tasty!!
