Boudreau & Thibodeau's Cajun Cookin'

We came here yesterday as a a group of 11 people. One plate has a missing toast and my friend was told that it will be given later. We were done eating and the toast was still not given. The food was good. The place was inviting. Many people came to the plave so this place must be a popular spot. I like the spinach spread. The gumbo was delicious.

The service was great at Boudreau & Thibodeau's. The staff members were all super friendly. Our waitress continuously checked in on us throughout our meal. The food came out pretty quickly. I had the hamburger steak with seasoned fries and onion rings. This place definitely has the best thin onion rings! Unfortunately the fries were undercooked and the hamburger steak was a little salty for my liking. My husband got the popcorn shrimp with regular fries and onion rings as well. He said everything was good. Overall, we would definitely come back. The restraunt is on the smaller side, so you may have to wait a little while, but it was worth it!

I feel the reviews on this restaurant are overhyped. I had a party of six adults tonight. Two of the six were well seasoned. The rest were described as bland. 70 plus percent of the clientele that were there at the time were senior citizens. Very disappointed in the size of the fried green tomatoe appetizer. $10 got me three slices of fried green tomatoes. I was embarrassed for the restaurant. Also waitress was approaching badgering with her level of upselling. She kept saying "I'm not pressuring you" but she basically stood there until every person ordered an appetizer. She mentioned their onion rings no less than five times. However, no one at our table ordered them. Very uncomfortable and needs to learn to read the room. Crab cakes had a fair amount of crab but not a lot of flavor. The sauce on the pasta was barely more than a butter sauce. Very little flavor. Do not plan to return.

What a great casual dining stop, allowed our pups outside. Came across this gem of an eatery as we were driving towards New Orleans. Definitely recommend the flight of creole and crawfish pie! Bread Pudding was a hunk of heaven for my hubby.

Everything was delicious, the service was quick and friendly. We ordered the char grilled oysters my only complaint was we needed more bread to sop up the butter sauce 😊 The crab spinach and artichoke dip is creamy and worth every calorie.

I was in town for work and was strongly recommended Boudreau's & Thibodeau's for supper. Based on that and Google reviews, I went. The atmosphere was fine, and my waitress was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Boudin Links appetizer as well as the Jambalaya, Crawfish Pie, and Gumbo meal with a baked sweet potato on the side. The boudin, gumbo, and sweet potato were GREAT, but the crawfish pie and jambalaya were cold. Also, the meat in the jambalaya was tough on one side, which I took as either sitting under a heat lamp or being microwaved.

If you’re looking for real Cajun comfort food, Boudreau and Thibodeau’s in Houma is the place to go! Their menu is packed with all your Cajun favourites, and everything that was tried was delicious. The catfish and shrimp po’boys hit the spot - crispy, flavourful, and generously filled. The gator bites were perfectly seasoned, and the onion rings were crispy and satisfying. The bottomless sweet tea keeps one refreshed throughout the meal, and Honey’s service was wonderfully authentic and truly appreciated. A memorable experience from start to finish - can’t wait to come back!

The food was good and so was the service. I really wanted to try the bread pudding, but they were out 😑

Authentic and outstanding, this restaurant brings the heat both literally and figuratively. I came here with my wife and her brother and sister in law to try some real Cajun food and we hit the jackpot. There were only Louisiana license plates in the parking lot and only authentic local cuisine on the menu. If you're ever in the area, make a bee line for this place.

Was in Houma during my birthday weekend and my in-laws recommended this spot. It was amazing. Wish I could back. Gave 4 stars due to the margarita I got did not contain any patron. It was sad then the food made up for it! The place is a respectable hole in the wall. Genuine Louisiana taste and flavor! I got the stuffed shrimp and was so glad I did. Staff was very friendly and felt very homey here. Totally recommend!

What a cool local place. Fast and friendly service, lots of Cajun seafood options, and super cold beer. (Also the $5.99 margarita was damned good!) Looking forward to going back again this week.

Apparently the locals love this place as it was busy on a Friday evening but we had issues... First being Fried Green Tomatoes, $10 for three small slices of mush. Grilled shrimp was obnoxiously salty. As in spit it out salty. Someone not our server came by to ask about the food and seemed surprised at our negative feedback. We declined a remake on the shrimp, but the only thing offered up was a half-hearted "I'll let 'em know" regarding our comments. The Boudreau & Thibodeau stories on the wall & table while meant to be cute, were too hokey, especially when you're with kids old enough to read and the subject matter includes spouses physically fighting and women's underwear. We'd pass on ever going back, but I'm sure some would disagree...

Excellent food and service. Fun atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit. The seafood gumbo is very good. I went with the crawfish étouffée with a side of red beans. Delicious.

This was plan B since places in Houma have limited menus between 2-5p. We enjoyed ourselves. Food and service were on point. Multiple B&T stories posted if you choose to enjoy them. Crawfish pies, boiled shrimp, seafood gumbo and B&T special took long to arrive but they were tasty. Potatoes and corn were $2.99 extra each and that's a bit pricey in my opinion. Bathrooms clean.

7-15-24 I stopped in and ordered the Grilled Trio, fish chicken & shrimp. It was very good, but a little on the salty side. I also ordered the steamed veggies with a salad. I like that they have healthier options on the menu. Its hard to find good restaurants in the area, that actually give healthier options to order. Since my last review, I have changed my eating habits. I no longer eat FRIED foods. I did enjoy my meal. And would recommend anyone looking for healthier options, you can find some here! The service was great! Pretty fast! I went at 3:30pm Atmosphere was nice too.

Well, kudos to Boudreau and thibodaux. We had reservations at Cajun Critters at 6:45. At 9:08 we still have not received our food. People came and went and they all ate around us. For four of us, we had four drinks, a beer and a Coke and one appetizer it was over $100. Well when we left there we came to Boudreau and Thibodaux for a wonderful meal see pictures below and we received our meal and under 10 minutes.

Recommended by the super friendly locals. Good service. I have never been called "ma'am" so many times in one sitting. And that's a good thing. Food was ok. Crawfish pie was my fave. Crust was slightly sweet and good. Seafood in the pie was really fresh tasting. Seafood gumbo was lack luster. No depth of flavors. Shrimp tasted so fresh. Beignets were nothing special. Fried green tomatoes were not green and thus not tangy. Corn meal coating was under seasoned. Overall, I won't be back but it was a good dining experience for the friendly staff and the homey atmosphere.

Wow!!! This place is amazing....the grilled oysters were fantastic; just enough of everything and still able to taste the oyster. The seafood gumbo had the right flavor even though I prefer a darker roux. The shrimp poboy was unbelievable....tons of shrimp and all cooked perfectly. To wrap my lunch up, I had homemade pecan bread pudding. Let me say FANTASTIC!!! The top had crystallized sugar then covered in rum sauce. The restaurant itself is kinda cool and it stays busy. The great food is definitely pulling the people. I would highly recommend eating here!!

Ate there once. It was ok. But too small of a space inside. Felt crammed together. Otherwise it was nice. Food was good and we had good service.

Really good food! Rolled into Houma For a quick meeting and couldn't see myself driving away from here without sampling some of the cuisine.

This is MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT in Louisiana! I travel all over LA, and I've had amazing food. BUT, these are my favorite chargbroiled oysters in the entire state. They are simply perfect. Come here. You won't be disappointed.

Food is average. No customer wifi but we all know you need it for your POS. To not provide it for the customer means I have to go eat somewhere else if I have work to do over lunch. Work on it

Excellent food. Extraordinary customer service! They don't take reservations but we arrived early and they accommodated our family of 10 easily. The food was exceptional. I can recommend the boiled shrimp (fresh & easy to peel), fried seafood platter, fried okra, seafood gumbo, grilled shrimp, grilled chicken, hush puppies, best fried okra I've ever eaten. Everything was great! Truly outstanding experience for each of us.

Never understood the crawfish thing until I ate at this restaurant! It was Amazing! Their seasoning was just fantastic and we ate seconds. Another revelation were the boudin balls. I never really thought much of those either until I tried it here. We had a great meal here and went twice in two days so that says something. One of us had the crawfish pasta and she really didn't like it but even that isn't enough to reduce the rating.

Visiting the area for the first time. Checked on line for the best Cajun restaurant. Check their reviews and totally agreed the service was absolutely outstanding and the food was definitely the best we had all week. The ambience is true to the locality with friendly and courteous people celebrating down home hospitality.

I wish this was local to me so I could eat here all of the time. Boudreau & Thibodeau's was such a wonderful meal to end our trip around southern Louisiana. Everything we had here was delicious, the service was fantastic and we even loved reading all of the fun jokes across the building and table. I could die happy eating that bread pudding! Highly recommend this spot!

The service was great but this place acts like have the best food however the hush puppies are not even homemade. The cocktail sauce and tartar sauce are both bought and not homemade. They catfish is good but I'll bet they don't even hand bread it. I was so looking forward to some Cajun food but was super disappointed. ‍

The food was spot on! We enjoyed out seafood gumbo with white rice. We had it to go, because of bad wether coming. My favorite was the Cole slaw and hush puppies. The mushrooms were very spicy. The parking lot is a little tricky, so be careful pulling and parking. I try to visit here when I am in town.

The atmosphere is really good with Cajun music playing. The service was fast and very friendly, really all you could ask for. The food was authentic and excellent.

First time eating here the food is really good season really welll a really good atmosphere , the service is excellent but I find they don't give you enough food for the price .

Absolutely delicious! We went with some locals who recommended the spot and it did not disappoint. I appreciate that they have tons of options so every family member is bound to find something they like. The place is very small for how many tables and people they fit in it lol but you definitely get the family vibe in there. The waitress was attentive and checked on us frequently despite it being super busy in there. I got the crawfish and crab cake with creole sauce and it was absolutely delicious. There was so much flavor packed into each bite ! There was a wait but it moved quickly and the food was definitely worth the wait. I do not recommend coming here with a large group but I do recommend coming! I would drive from NOLA for this spot !

The place was packed when we arrived on a Sunday evening. Great service, great setting. A real dive type Cajun restaurant. Our food was outstanding. We ordered all the cajun standards and everything was very good. I'm glad we stopped here.

I was fortunate enough to get there early enough, so I got a really nice booth. I decided to try almost everything so I started with boiled oysters with bacon absolutely fabulous a little small, but perfect, then I had some corn bisque soup. I've never really had that before and it was excellent, I had blackened catfish with crab meat and some kind of sauce along with fried shrimp and then I had to have there bread pudding. The ambience was very nice and the waitress was very helpful. I enjoyed it and look forward to going back.

I highly recommend Boudreau & Thibodeau's in Houma, LA. I live in New Orleans and I traveled to Houma to go - it is great! The atmosphere is great! I love that there are jokes on the tables and all over the walls. It is very cute! For appetizers, I suggest the crab, spinach, and artichoke dip and the corn nuggets! For my entree, I got the stuffed fish. The fish was pretty good, but the crabby patty it was stuffed with was DELICIOUS. For sides, I ordered macaroni and cheese and hush puppies. The hush puppies were really good!! For dessert, you HAVE TO ORDER Turtle on da Half-Shell! It was great and everyone should order it! I will definitely be back!

This was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time! The Jambalaya, Crawfish pie, File Gumbo combo was the perfect combination and amount of food for a very reasonable price. The restaurant atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant and the service was good despite them being busy. The food was very flavorful and fresh without drowning in hot spice, which was great. The dessert (bread pudding) wasn't loved by all, but that gives us a reason to go back sometime. Highly recommend.

Live an hour from here but come here just for the food here! Dungeness brand and snow crabs are phenomenal as I'm sure everything else is!!!

I have never been to the area but I went to an event so of course I hit Yelp to find a place for an early dinner. This place was spot on. We walked in and we're seated immediately. Food came out fast and was fresh! Get the boudin links as an app. This was honestly some top tier boudin from a restaurant. I was hesitant at first but so glad I chose to go ahead and get it. My husband said the alligator was one of the freshest he had gotten from a restaurant as well and wasn't chewy. The other seafood options were also great as well. Service was great and if I'm ever back in the area I will try more as they have a very extensive menu.

We spent 3 days traveling through Louisiana on our motorcycle taken in the Cajun life... trying all kinds of creole and Cajun food and I must say this place ranks up in the top 5. The crawfish pie was amazing.. well everything was awesome put it was my first time having crawfish pie and I truly wish they had a place in TN because I'd be there everyday lol. Can't say enough good things about the flavor from the gumbo to the jambalaya..

A lot of the food is fried, but it's yummy. I totally ordered too much, purposely to take home & eat later. I ordered the duck strips. They were really good and came with a honey - mustard type sauce. I don't think I've ever had duck strips (just like chicken strips) but I ended up eaten all of them over the course of two meals. I also ordered the okra. I love fried okra and they know how to do it. In fact, this is probably the best okra I've ever had, outside of mine! Hot and fresh. The hush puppies were really good too. The gumbeaux (this is hot they spell it) was quite good. I got the seafood. It's a little thin and I'd like a little more substance, but tonight for dinner I'm strong extra shrimp and rice and it will be the way I like it. The flavor was exceptional. So how do I heat up all this fried food?! In an air fryer. Fried food reheats perfectly in the air fryer. It only takes a few minutes too!

I died and gone to Cajun food heaven at this very cool joint in Houma, Louisiana. The Crab and Corn bisque is so so so flavorful. Just burst in unknown good secret Cajun spices. The Boudin (pronounced boo da... I think). To die for. We have the seafood boiled plate with cork, sausage, dun crabs, snow crabs, shrimps, onion and potatoes. What more can anyone ask for. Kami was our food liaison and just insanely awesome. Can't say enough about her. Remember to support your local eateries so we all do not starve......

Food is mediocre. They need to lower their prices. When my order gets messed up by a worker and she tries to fix it and another worker throws it at the back of the line of orders, I have a problem. If you're not sitting in an xxl booth you are at a table that's on top of one another. Miserable especially when you got a fussy 7 month old when you been waiting on 3 very small empty clusters of crabs for an hour and a half. Won't happen again.

Food is amazing, service was great. We stayed in Houma for 3 days and ate there 3 times Can't wait to be back in the area to go again. From the gumbo to the white beans and grilled shrimp where some of the best I have ever had. Their sweet potatoes are perfect. Neat environment and over all just one of our new favorites for good Cajun food

Amazing. The staff were so kind and attentive. The Food was straight Fire. Also, not a bad selection of craft beers so these beer geek won't complain. I highly recommend stopping in.

Cute place to grab some fried southern food. I had the crab cake pasta. Yum. Washed down with a bottle of Stella! Super cute shirts.

Loved this place!!! I'm not educated enough to tell if you if this authentic Cajun food, but it was but damn good! Service was excellent , fast and friendly. That was with a table of 8. It was a rustic but inviting environment. Hope I get to visit again one day.

Food and service was amazing! You have to try the Boudreaux and thibodaux special if you like pasta & the boudin balls are 100/10 yummy!

If you enjoy an extremely casual atmosphere and a wide variety of very very fried and delicious foods you will like this place. Also, mashed potato salad!

I had grilled shrimp and catfish, my husband had "A lil' bit of Cajun", and my mom had a burger. Everything was excellent from the service to the food. Highly recommend this place!

We searched high and low for a legit spot to get crawfish while on a family vacation to New Orleans. Driving back to NOLA from a day trip to the Tabasco Factory on Avery Island, we saw the name of the restaurant on the exit signs for "Food" along the highway. GOLDMINE! I mean the gods were with us this day, because we gave up hope in NOLA for crawfish even though we were there opening weekend for the '22 season. For apps we got the grilled oysters, and crawfish pie. For dinner my husband got a *monster* size platter of crawfish that came with potatoes, corn, sausage, and mushrooms. I got the oyster poboy, with a side of red beans and rice, and the kids got basic grilled cheese and fries -- kid food. But seriously, every single thing we ordered was fantastic! 10/10 -- and 15/10 for the crawfish spice level. Lips left burning!

Service was friendly and attentive. Food was subpar at best. One of the worst food experiences we have had in Houma. Food was overpriced and over breaded. Seafood not fresh. Save yourself from visiting here and try other options.
