"Despite the strip-mall location, Bougie’s is a place where we wouldn’t mind hanging out for a while. It’s a spot that takes that “old-school donut shop” look and brightens it up a little with ambient overhead lights and wooden display cases that give the store a welcoming touch. You’ll find a mix of classic and “gourmet” donuts here—with toppings like maple and bacon or lemon and lavender—that are just the right amount of sweet, fluffy and creative. " - nicolai mccrary

Google
Tasty doughnuts indeed. I had a cinnamon roll doused in an orange flavored icing. It was pretty intense. My wife had a chocolate iced cake donut and a blueberry iced donut. I sampled both and they were good. The blueberry was the best. The girl working in there was friendly. I didn't catch her name.

Got talked into the Homer strawberry donut. WOW! It was delicious. Not too sweet with the frosting and sprinkles either. Very impressed. Cappuccino was decent. Would have liked it a little more robust.

Google
I should’ve paid more attention to the bad reviews pertaining to gf. Guess I just hoped that over time things had changed. *First off, don’t waste your time if you’re going in for gf. The size of the donuts is incredibly small especially for the price, doesn’t even fit in the palm of my hand. *Secondly, these are cake donuts, not raised yeast. *Thirdly and I think most importantly, the donut itself tastes like they bought gf pancake mix and used that to make these. There’s like a premixed quality to them with an aftertaste of xantham gum. Pretty disappointed I ordered one of each flavor (except the Homer glazed ones) and could barely stand the taste. Past the price point for size(almost $4/each), they just tasted terrible. <If you want real yeast gf donuts, Breadish @ sfc farmers markets say & sun truly nails it and they deep fry in coconut oil>

Google
I recently visited this donut coffee shop and had an amazing experience! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the employees were friendly and clearly knew what they were doing. I ordered a cappuccino and a simple donut—both were absolutely delicious. Sometimes the simplest things are the best, and that was definitely true here. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Visited for a quick coffee. Service is quick. Place isn't crowded and good for working or studying. Peaceful atmosphere. Friendly staff. Would visit here again. Have a nice cafe.

Google
Really disappointed with the quality of donuts for a custom order. Had higher expectations. Requested “Happy 40th Birthday” letter donuts and they were much smaller than anticipated and pretty sad looking.

Google
Our favorite donut shop! We drive 30+ minutes every few months to get a fix 🙃 The yeast donuts & sausage rolls are unmatched. They have tons of gluten free options, though I have not tried them. My only issue is I’ve yet to find the perfect latte, but they have tons of options, so I’ll keep trying 😊 We always get there at the perfect time with no wait, but when there is a wait, the line moves quickly. We also discovered they have some books and coloring sheets for the kids, which means we will probably be visiting more often now 😄

Google
I love getting my weekly donut fix here. I was go for the classic chocolate glazed or chocolate cake, But they have some lovely artisan donuts. I'm just a creature of habit. Their staff is always friendly, they know their regulars, and they're very lovely to chat with. On the weekends they're always busy, the line moves quickly. Kids adore them. They do not accept cash, although I think that's rarely an issue nowadays.

Ted G.

Yelp
Excellent service. The place was very clean and the gluten-free donuts were the reason we went.

Sujey L.

Yelp
Went in for a cup of coffee and a Donut at around noon on a Saturday was able to get in and out quickly :) Overall experience was good! I really like that there is tons of parking in this plaza so that wasn't an issue at all. I ordered a latte with coconut milk I usually sub for almond milk but the only milk substitutions they offer are Coconut milk and Oat milk. I got the lemon lavender Donut. They have a unique variety of donut flavors which I thought was really cool! The coffee was good and strong. The donut was similar to a cake donut iit'stasty and crumbly they nailed the lemon lavender flavor.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and am so appreciative of the fact that they have gluten free donuts! This donut and coffee shop is nestled into a shopping center right off of 290, making it fairly accessible. The parking lot is massive and offers free parking, which is fairly common in this area of Austin, so finding a space to park is also convenient. As far as the donuts, I think they really nail the flavors and I'm genuinely obsessed with the gf lemon lavender donut from here, but they are quite a bit smaller than their regular donuts (and still just as pricy/more expensive). The gf donuts have a rather spongelike texture, so they're not like regular donuts if that's what you're looking for in a gluten free donut. That said, they do also have regular donuts with even more flavor options than they offer in gluten free...including massive regular and orange-flavored cinnamon rolls (which I'd love for them to make gluten free!!) I've purchased the regular donuts for my family before (since I'm the only sad gluten free person in the family), and they've never had any complaints! It's always a treat when I come here! The only negative is that the drinks are really a hit or a miss and it's a bit inconsistent. I will say that the hot matcha latte is delicious, but the iced matcha latte lacks a good flavor. Additionally, I appreciate that their lavender latte is a staple on the menu, but it's not a flavorful as it was in the past. I make my own lattes most days and use a lavender extract from Sprouts, so it's surprising to me that I can barely taste any lavender in the latte lately and I believe they may have changed the recipe. That said, the employees are very friendly and polite, and their restaurant is always very clean! Seating is a bit limited because it's a smaller location, but I've never seen it completely full because I think most people take their donuts and drinks to go. So if you want to sit and enjoy your breakfast, you typically can! All in all, I'm a big fan of Bougie's and highly recommend checking them out!

Yelp
Decided to swing by this spot on our way home from some Saturday errands - we would definitely go again! The space is small and indoor seating is limited but they also have some small outdoor tables. The line moves quickly and they have a large selection of both cold and hot espresso/coffee shop beverages. A large seasonal flavor menu is also a fun way to change up an otherwise standard coffee-shop order. I tried their Nutella seasonal hot latte - it was great! Nice, dark chocolate flavor without being overly sweet. We split a jalapeno/cheese/sausage kolache and a Mother's Day donut. The donut was spectacular - stuffed with delicious vanilla pudding and frosted (sugar rush for real). The reason we didn't give this spot 5* was because the kolache was cold - it was tasty but would have been way better served warm/hot. This place slaps - would absolutely recommend a visit if you're in the area and looking for a sweet treat and caffeine hit.

Yelp
We came here yesterday afternoon, to get a donut for an afternoon dessert instead of morning dessert. The inside of the store was clean and we were able to order right away, which was nice. Of the donuts we tried, my fiancé and I both liked the strawberry iced donut the best. I liked the plain cake next, while my fiancé preferred the lemon lavender next (I don't like lemon donuts but she does). Overall, their donuts were solid. We would come back here again!

Meadow H.

Yelp
I'm not sure what i expected from the self proclaimed bougie "gourmet" donuts, but even those low expectations were not met. genuinely the driest donuts i've ever had. the apple fritter donut from dunkin is far better than this. also... they lost points when it was a crew full of white people serving up horchata at an abhorrent price point. salty donut is much much better if you're looking for a fancy donut!

Tye R.

Yelp
Situated in a shopping center, it's conveniently located so you can grab a coffee, a donut or two, and continue your errands. It looks like a typical coffee shop set up with a glass display box at the front for you to peruse the day's donut picks and flavors. There are a few seating options available and they have wifi available to customers. The person who helped me seemed indifferent, but was nice enough though didn't engage in conversation or upselling like I'm used to experiencing at other shops. While the donuts are good, they are on the more expensive side. I ordered a glazed blueberry yeast donut, regular glazed, and cinnadough along with an iced cinnatoast latte with oat milk. The cinnadough was the best pick in the box and I can do without the other two. The iced latte was delicious. They have gluten free donuts available for those looking for it.

Yelp
Small little donut shop Next to the Daiso and spectrum store. I'm not huge into cake donuts, but in the rare occasion I'm in the mood for one, I like their off-the- eaten-path flavor Lemon Lavender. The coffee they serve is tasty. I've only ever had 2 of their seasonal lattes, but both times they've been just the right amount of sweet (like, slightly sweet... it's great with the donuts because the donuts' sweetness shines over the latte). I do want to give a shout out to the staff. They are so friendly!! The kind of place that puts a smile on your face.

Eric G.

Yelp
We live nearby but have never been for some reason. Finally randomly stepped in and bought two donuts, a lemon lavender and a pistachio brown butter (?). Both were suuuper good and gone very fast. We got a coffee as well, which was also good! Overall looking forward to returning to try other donuts in the future!

Yelp
Recently moved near Bougie's so I stopped in to see how Bougie the shop was but all that was Bougie was the pricing. The donuts were small, overpriced and the flavor wasn't there for me. Almost left with some merch though (super cute!)

Andrew C.

Yelp
Wonderfully piping hot Americano - I really love drinks that are served hot hot hot (litigation be damned). Americano had good flavor but at 12oz it was pretty mild in strength. Had two donuts which were really good - a chocolate iced and a blueberry cake. For a vegan donut - that blueberry cake was incredibly good. Place was clean - 6 two tops with bench and chair seating. Service and staff were really friendly and helpful. They were short-staffed and only have one register so there may be a little bit of a wait.

Amy N.

Yelp
Have been meaning to try this place for a while and finally got there the other day. Didn't realise they were all cake doughnuts which I'm usually not a fan of, but these weren't dry and tasted fine. Staff were friendly and it was a good location with ample parking as in a shopping strip. 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars.

Shawn K.

Yelp
Exceeded expectations. Staff was extra nice. Donuts bought were all so good. (Kind of want one right now) Also they make a solid dirty chai latte and plenty of gluten free options.

Larry M.

Yelp
Good donuts. The second time I went to buy donuts, I was told they don't accept cash. So I walked out because I only had cash as payment.

Shirin L.

Yelp
We ordered one decaf and one regular cappuccino, both with oat milk. The drinks were si strong, it almost felt like we were having a cup full of espresso with a shot of oat milk. The staff is very friendly and the place is nice and clean but I wouldn't come back for their drinks.

Annette N.

Yelp
I found my iced latte! Tried the Cinnatoast latte and have forever been obsessed! Place has a couple of tables indoors perfect if you wfh, where music isn't too loud and need just enough space. Their staff has made a GREAT impression on me with this cute little coffee shop. Bravo!

Priya N.

Yelp
This is a really nice coffee/donut shop to study or do work. The staff is very nice and will help you with any questions. I had the glazed cake donut and it was okay. Their iced matcha latte was decent but not memorable.

Milannie C.

Yelp
Best vegan donuts I've had. I'm not vegan but I love vegan sweets. Try their blueberry cake vegan donuts. They're amazeballs!

Shradha A.

Yelp
I was happy that they had gluten-free donuts to offer but I didn't find them to be fresh.

Benita P.

Yelp
This morning I tried the apple fritter and a plain cake donut. They were both delicious. I also had a 12oz latte it was perfect for this cold weather. The ladies that helped me were very nice.

Dee F.

Yelp
We were running errands in the area and needed a quick snack. We got the lemon poppyseed and lemon lavender donuts. They still tasted fresh, even at 2pm that day. The dough part of the donuts was yummy, but the glaze was overwhelmingly sweet for my taste. I also had a decaf vanilla latte with oatmilk. I was surprised when I took my first sip, it was a little bitter. When I paid, I wasn't paying attention to the pricing, and I paid $15 for everything (3 items: $3.75 for each donut & a whopping $7 for my latte). I was a little shocked. The customer service was lacking. I barely got a hello. I approached the donut display. I didn't know if she was ready for my order or not, so I had to awkwardly point and ask for each donut. I was thinking maybe the lady was having a bad day, or it was the end of her day. At least she was trying to be friendly, but she still seemed irritated. I said thank you when they handed me my drink. I thought maybe she didn't hear me, so I said it again. I felt like I got a forced response. Before I left, I said thank you again, and the lady didn't even look up. It doesn't make me feel good when a business doesn't appreciate my business, especially here where I felt I spent so much money on sub-par product and a sub-par experience. I won't come back.

Shia N.

Yelp
Honestly nothing special. There are much better donut places in Austin, but it does what it needs to do. Ambiance and service is like any other coffee shop. Nothing stands out and would make me want to drive past many other donut and coffee places to drive specifically to their shop. 2 stars feels too high but 1 feels too low.

Jennifer J.

Yelp
No No I just can't with places that way overcharge for simple items!! I had an iced latte with oat milk for $9.20 where in the every living works does a place get off with this extreme pricing!! I could go to Perry's for an Irish coffee and it will be way less than this!! Never again and as others have said I guess I should have known by the name!! Absolutely ridiculous....

Kathy D.

Yelp
Forget Cinnabons! Never liked them but Bougie's Donuts has "real cinnamon rolls! Made perfectly like my dad used to bring home. Pull apart with rows of cinnamon. Peal apart and eat the rolls with the cushy cinnamon center. A little pricey for a regular ol' donut though. Was going to get a little donut, $3! All more than I anticipated but I enjoyed the cinnamon roll!

Desiree A.

Yelp
I just found out that I am gluten and cows milk intolerant. Sad I know. So I am always on the look out for yummy things that I can actually have. So then my wife brought me here! Cute space. Love the energy. The clientele all looks cool - so I must be in the right place! I had the chocolate and strawberry gluten-free donuts and the fruit one was by far my favorite. They are also a bit smaller than other donuts I am used to getting so two would be recommended Lastly, I had the horchata which was devine. Undeniably familiar and tasty. Highly recommend!!

Terry H.

Yelp
A donut shop with delicious espresso yay! Usually to coffee is sub-par, but not at Bougie's. The donuts are beautifully displayed, and they have king cake donuts for Mardi Gras. I had a kolache which was delicious. I noticed as I was drinking my coffee that the kolaches are very popular. But many people were ordering donuts. I will try one next time I am here. This is an excellent small business to support. Go here!

Cathy L.

Yelp
These donuts are such high quality. Lots of cake donuts as well as a variety of yeast donuts. They have a couple vegan options as well. We always get lemon lavender, blueberry glaze, and the pink homer. We usually go early, before 10am, or order online the day before for any pick up time. Their coffee is not as good. I tried their holiday special and thought it was underwhelming, but I always go for the donuts.

Courtney T.

Yelp
Great options for gluten free donuts but unfortunately the pricing makes it not worth it. Expect to pay an outrageous amount per donut and coffee when the coffee is average. Won't be coming back due to prices.

Jeanie S.

Yelp
Super expensive $80 for 2 dozen donuts is an awful lot! Were tasty but...so are donuts fro chains.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Lemon lavender is a must! My bf doesn't like cake donuts and he even liked it! Their glazed uses yeast so it's very pillowy when you bite into it! Definitely come early as they ran out of some flavors... Will want to try some of the other ones next time

Johnny V.

Yelp
Great donuts and awesome kolaches! Highly recommended! Service was great, easy and quick.

Anna S.

Yelp
Very nice staff and wonderful selection of coffee. The donuts were amazing and very well displayed so you can choose which one looked the yummiest.

Yelp
Perfectly placed in Sunset Valley, sits Bougie's Donuts and Coffee. We've tried some of their donuts on previous occasions, and might I just say they are a pure treat! (Our favorites are the apple fritter and the cinnadough-orange.) Recently, we tried their beverages for the first time, and we have been absolutely in love ever since. Their iced chai is one of our favorites, with perfect notes of spice and flavor. The actual spice notes in the chai are different than the usual chai you get from most local cafes, leading its way to be an unexpected burst of flavors upon first sip each time. The strength of their espresso in the latte is incredible. It pairs perfectly with their oat milk, it felt like I was indulging in a creamy, caffeinated affair that left me craving more. Bougies has quickly made its way up our list of local Austin favorites. We are already dying to go back, and trust we will be soon!

James H.

Yelp
Be prepared for a line out the door on a Saturday morning because the place is darn good. The bacon maple, blueberry cake & strawberry iced are our picks. Mostly not peanut safe for our son. You have to confirm with the donut shop what Donuts have been made lately. Example they were serving today a peanut & jelly combo donut.

Hannah K.

Yelp
Contrary to the high-highfalutin title, Bougie's takes up residence in a nondescript strip mall in Sunset Valley. Striving to serve an "elevated" cafe experience with gourmet treats and third-wave coffee, they manage to sidestep the pretension that sort of program typically entails. There are two vegan versions of their plump cake-style doughnuts; blueberry and birthday cake, each coated in a crisp confectioner's sugar glaze that shatters upon impact. Tender, moist, and impeccably fresh, they do proper justice to this tricky format. I'd suggest that kids and children at heart would especially dig this spot, since the vegan blueberry doughnut has a flavor strikingly reminiscent of fruity pebbles cereal.

Yelp
I stopped by this morning to try some donuts. The lady at the counter was helping someone else so I took a look at what donuts they had in the case and then I stepped behind the person being waited on to wait my turn. About three minutes later, an older couple walks in and stands to the side of the cash register. As a result, I move up a bit to show there is a line. The employee finishes up with the current customer and then proceeds to turn to the side and help the older couple who seem oblivious to the fact that they just cut in line. Not sure how the employee who was helping completely overlooked the fact that I was waiting and she skipped me. Horrible customer service. Doesn't matter if the donuts are the best in the world (which they aren't), not going back just because of lack of customer service.

Babatunde A.

Yelp
We ordered a half dozen of the gluten free and they tasted good, but weren't life changing. For the price they were extremely small and pretty average to be honest. The service was great and kind. 20 bucks for a half dozen of average donuts doesn't seem worth it to me, especially as someone who has to get gluten free. I believe that Dream Bakery has much better gluten free donuts. Nice staff not sure if l'll return anytime soon unless they lower prices and increase size of baby gf donuts.

Katherine A.

Yelp
Super warm and comfy. Lots of donut choices, gluten free also. Warm and cold drinks Plenty of Pat king and seating. Such a cute coffee shop

Ofelia G.

Yelp
We got an assortment of a dozen donuts: lemon lavender was my favorite. I wish that the chocolate bacon had bacon sprinkled over the chocolate and not only the 2 pieces in the middle. My daughters liked the strawberry homer and cinnamon sugar cake. The apple fritter is ok. Service was fast since I'm told there is usually a line out the door.

Elyssa D.

Yelp
I only went in for a donut, ended up getting one glazed cake donut and six donut holes. The glazed cake donut was delicious. BUT THE DONUT HOLES WERE PHENOMENAL!!! I've never had a more delicious donut hole. I cannot explain to you how this simple little sphere of donut was better than any other but it so was.

Nikki P.

Yelp
One of the best glazed donuts I've ever had, possibly the best ever. I always get a glazed donut to test a new donut shop, and this one definitely did not disappoint. Very squishy but also fluffy, with a rich buttery flavor in the dough. Light but flavorful glaze. Soft middle with the tiniest bit of crispy on the outside- perfectly fried. Just really really good. I also got the cinnamon roll, which was good for what it is. I like traditional cinnamon rolls that are more like a bread roll with the white frosting on top so donut shop cinnamon rolls aren't my favorite, but if you like this kind of cinnamon roll, it's really good for its type. The glazed donut I tried was the yeast raised one- I don't love cake-style donuts, but I'll be back to try them because I'm curious. I got an espresso shot with a splash of milk and it was not good, very bitter. But, my friend said this is her favorite spot for coffee so I'm assuming I just got a bad batch or the milk was a little funky or something. I'm going to try the coffee again but even if I decide I don't like the coffee, it will be worth it to get coffee elsewhere and donuts here (probably tomorrow if I'm being honest.....apologies to my diet).

Luis B.

Yelp
There is absolutely NO reason for a gluten free donut to cost $3.50. You can literally eat it in 2 bites

Dani B.

Yelp
We went yesterday at the hottest point of the day (that's what it felt like to me). I got the Horchata + Espresso & added vanilla flavoring. It was made with rice milk which was a first for me. I feel like the drink would have been better had I not added the vanilla but that is a decision I will have to live with. Only than that it was a nice cold drink to have on a hot day. I got the HOMER donut in strawberry and it tasted like I was in Springfield also. I thought that was a good joke bc I laughed while typing it. My daughter got the classic glazed and she enjoyed it.

Shashikala P.

Yelp
This review is only for there glazed donut(yeast raised), as that's the only one we tried. Couple of weeks back Bougie's Donut had their truck drive by inside our community, so was excited to try it but it was just ok. Donuts were pre packed, half dozen boxes, 3 options, all 6 glazed, all 6 Blueberry or 6 Assorted. donuts were kinda dry, dint taste fresh, texture was like bread(chewy), it's not worth the price nor the hype! Atleast not there glazed donuts. If it's only for donut, it's 2 stars but was able to pickup so conveniently within our community so 3stars.

Megan L.

Yelp
Such a quaint coffee and donut shop! They have benches, but none are open due to COVID-19 right now. I saw an employee fill their coffee machine with their own branded coffee beans. I ordered a dozen donut holes, a pink sprinkled donut, an iced chai latte, and a hot lavender latte. I thought the donut holes were just okay. They had a bit too much dough and were too hard for my taste. The pink donut was also just alright too. The hot lavender latte was the best thing I ordered, and I enjoyed it because it was on the creamier side. The iced chai latte was a bit strange, but it's definitely on the better side of chai lattes that I've ordered in Austin. I am a tad bit disappointed because I expected a shop that specializes in donuts to have better tasting donuts, but I might've come on an off day. I like that they have a lot of different drink options and isn't your traditional donut shop with generic coffee.

Madeleine H.

Yelp
We had these catered for our wedding. So yummy! I loved that they were able to deliver and separate the vegan doughnuts for us. They were on time to the venue and the doughnuts were excellent! The sprinkles was my favorite.

Liz J.

Yelp
Most delicious donuts, wow! I placed a custom order with them for my son's birthday and they were very helpful and took care of my order on short notice. Great service and even better donuts!

Marisol R.

Yelp
My doughnut is bad and bougie Cookin' up cake, the fillin' is oozie My waistline is savage, ruthless Goin' up 30's maybe 100 rounds too My doughnut is bad and bougie Cookin' up cake, the fillin' is oozie It's South Austin, not in Mueller Dabbin' on 'em like the usual Magic with the dought, better than voodoo Curbside with a bad batch Sometimes I get them through Uber I'm young and rich and my doughnuts bougie I'm not stupid, so fillin' I eat is oozie Rackings on rackings, got backends on backends So my money I'm spending on staked cakes My doughnut is bad and bougie Cookin' up cake, the fillin' is oozie

Jordan N.

Yelp
Blueberry glaze - a bit too sweet, and has few real berries in it - that was nice. Maybe if they had more real blueberries, it would offset the sweetness a bit more with its tartness. Cinnamon roll - tasty Homer donut - good Cortado - Cuvee coffee, good
