Boulangerie Marguerita - Review - Little Italy - Montreal - The Infatuation

"The aroma wafting on the street will bring you to this tiny Italian bakery on the southern edge of Little Italy, even if you miss it when driving by. Margeurita has been in this location for over 100 years, and specializes in classic round pagnotta baked three ways: regular, crusty, and well-done. Their square slices of room temperature slab pizza are slathered with crushed tomatoes and drizzled with olive oil, while other vegetable and meat-topped pizzas are sold in small rounds. Grab a well-done pagnotta, a few soft buns, and a slice to go, then devour them in nearby Parc de Petite Italie." - Ivy Lerner-Frank

I popped into here on a whim as the nearby place I was originally going to go to was too busy - I’m super glad that was the case because the pizza I ate here was awesome! It was a Saturday around 1 PM so there wasn’t too much left in the display cabinet, but I grabbed the square veggie pizza and the nice lady told me it was a little bit spicy, which was perfect for me. I asked her if she didn’t mind cutting me off a piece to eat now and then wrapping the rest up so I could take it home, and she did a lovely job of cutting it into four pieces, handing me a slice in a bag with a napkin, and then packaging the remaining slices in an oil-resistant paper and bag (it reminded me of how they package things in Italy). She was super nice and welcomed to me when I mentioned it was my first time visiting and I appreciated her care in packaging everything. I ate the slice on my way to an appointment and after taking my first bite, I literally said out loud to myself “wow” because the flavors were so good! I will definitely be back to try their other pizzas, but I highly recommend the vegetarian one! Not to mention, it was under nine dollars and I’m just finishing the last slice on Monday afternoon!

Ok guys, this is serious. It’s the best fresh pizza in Montreal PERIOD. Everything is AMAZIG, I often go for the tomato pizza (classic always the best), the bread is fluffy and taste really fresh. There’s no acid taste left and the tomato are like clouds. Nice people for the service, authentic and friendly. Also they have buns, panini bread, sliced bread, if you’re a sandwich lover, you can find the best Italian bread for your sandwich at home. And finally if you are in little Italy, you will find at Marguarita Italy in Montreal.

My family grew up eating bread from here and there is really no bread like it. The Pagnotta is light and airy but study enough to be a vehicle for delicious ingredients, also perfect to simply just eat as it is👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 the crispy crust is unmatched 🔥

There's a reason this place has been around for decades, the bread is fluffy like a cloud and their pizza is so we'll garnished, no skimping in the ingredients.

Pure nostalgic, love the lady working there. The pizza is excellent, great sauce. I would love to see some pastries, but I guess bread is enough!

Should be a Canadian heritage site for all the years they've been around. They have the best tomato Pizza and Freshly baked breads in Montreal. I've been buying the same tomato pizza for about 35 years and it's still exactly the same and the best of the best. Again, I just dropped by and bought a full tomato pizza backed Fresh and it was wrapped and the service was polite, nice and I had a great conversation with the staff. Still 5 stars as always.
