"A prolific New Orleans restaurant group plans to turn a massive downtown building into a location of its growing chain following two previous attempts to operate food halls in the space, reports the Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate. According to the newspaper, Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts has entered into a lease-to-own agreement with the owners of 801 Magazine Street, the downtown building formerly home to Auction House Market and then the Hall on Mag. The group will open a fifth location of Boulevard American Bistro, an upscale-casual, steakhouse-esque restaurant serving dishes like crab cakes, cedar plank salmon, and prime rib." - Clair Lorell

Stopped in on our way home to Texas from Florida to visit my wife’s grandma, and we’re so glad we did! We started with the spinach dip. It was really good and full of flavor. I went with the veggie burger, and it was amazing! Super flavorful and cooked just right. The service was excellent. Our server kept our drinks full and made sure the table stayed clean and organized. Great food and great hospitality. We’ll definitely stop by again next time we’re in town!

Food and drinks were delicious as always! Our server Sway was awesome! Very quick and knowledgeable with great drink recommendations! The manger on duty Andrew was great! And our hostess Shayne welcomed us warmly! Great experience start to finish! I’ve been here numerous times over the years and it’s always a great time!

Best Smoked Salmon in town! That’s how I want start this review! All their dishes is delicious and well prepared, if come here you need to try their Hawaiian Steak 🥩, their chicken is also amazing! But the biggest tip I can give to you is to come here on Saturdays and enjoy the best Chili 🌶️ in town! It’s worth the visit! This place is a perfect place to enjoy a wine 🍷 and a good food! Perfect place for celebration dates.

OMG, the crab cakes are awesome, but the price is market, so a little high. The peanut kale side is delicious. Seems better suited for romantic dinner with a loved one. Very intimate seating . Overall, it was a wonderful place.

Google
Everyone was very friendly and the service was great. We also liked the atmosphere, but the food wasn't consistent with what you pay at a restaurant like this. My steak was tough and the potato wasn't warm enough to melt the butter on it. Better food in Metairie for $50 a head.

Google
The quality of the food continues to go down. The service was once top-notch - it has become far slower lately. Requests for refills and other minor things take forever and sometimes go unfilled based on my most recent visit. The sides are now priced higher than many steak houses.

Google
It was my first experience at this location and I was not disappointed. The hostess who seated us was very friendly and our waiter Justin was personable, friendly and professional. I simply could not believe that he had only been with the company less than two weeks!! He made recommendations and shared his favorites with us. He continued to check on us and made sure everything met our expectations. It was a delightful experience!!

Food was great! My favorite were smoked salmon appetizer and the Hawaiian steak. Service was impeccable. Andrew was really attentive and helpful at making suggestions on the menu. 10/10

Yelp
Had a great dinner! Deviled eggs were great, Club Salad was Awesome as well as spinach dip and Key Lime Pie! Our Server Jeneva was the best! She On top of her job and so personable. We loved having her as our waitress. She made us laugh so much we will be back and requesting her as our waitress. Thanks Jeneva!

Yelp
We came here for a birthday dinner. The place is aesthetically lovely. I liked the low lighting and brick walls. The food was wonderful as well. Service, however, left a lot to be desired. Now granted, it was a certain volume by it being a weekend, so waiting a tad longer is expected. However, it just appeared that our server did not want to be there. She did not check on us often, which would have accommodated us better than the lackluster service we received. Everything else was ok, except for the service.

Yelp
I always stop by boulevard when I am in town. The spinach dip and smoked salmon is a classic. A few things to note about my recent visit. The restaurant was quiet, not as busy probably to the bipolar weather. Our server Andrew was fantastic, very patient and understanding. My wife and I had a nice meal, and definitely would recommend it for a romantic night out. It's lightly dim, and dark and there but has a nice vibe. Spinach Dip 4.5/5 Smoked Salmon 4.3/5 Crab cakes 4.4/5 Drinks 5/5 Service 5/5 Ken

Yelp
Boulevard use to be one of my go to spots for their martini Thursdays and their food but I feel like the quality went done. I got a filet mignon made medium and it was not seasoned at all. I added salt and pepper and even then it was not good. I ate half and let them throw the other have away. The broccoli in my meal also was not good, they bought had a weird taste to it. Mind you I never throw steak away. The potato was good though. My favorite thing was the deviled eggs. It was sooo good. As far as my drinks it was good but more on the lemon than cognac, it was so yellow but I've had better here. The service over all was GREAT and very attentive. I would come back but I will just stick to the eggs and drinks next time

Yelp
Similar menu to Houston's restaurant that it replaced. Not quite as well flavored or excellent service as it's competitor but good enough if you don't want to take a drive Uptown. They offer online reservations at your convenience, so it's a plus. The restaurant was dimmed and had quite an old, sour smell the day we went. I'm assuming it's the flooring and/or tables after cleaning up. It was quite offsetting but maybe I have a more sensitive sense of smell compared to my group. Sucked it right up and carried on. Drinks and appetizers came out quickly, and entrees came shortly after. We wish our server paced out our meals so we could've enjoyed our appetizers more but oh well. My guests had the ribeyes, and they said they were cooked to perfection. My favorite were the crab cakes. That's one thing their competitor doesn't offer anymore, and this dish would be the main reason I'd return to this restaurant. Plentiful amount of crabmeat with a nice crust. Delish! I almost forgot to mention. They do have a happy hour menu from Monday through Friday, 3-6 PM.

Monica J.

Yelp
Usually I would give a 5 star. I've been here too many times to count and the food and service has always been great, but this time the food upset my stomach so bad. I believe it was sour or perhaps had been left out. I had the pasta which is usually one of my favorite dishes here. My boyfriend and I were trying to recreate our first date, though we weren't able to sit in the same spot since my daughter was with us. He had the fried chicken salad, I had the pasta and my daughter had a burger. When I got the pasta I noticed it was a lot more wet than usual. It also wasn't very hot, it was barely warm. I ate it all because I was hungry but it didn't taste to taste the same to me. No sooner than I was able to get home, my stomach was turning over angrily. I know I'll be back but I think I'll leave the pasta alone for a while. That was not a fun feeling.

Yelp
Tasty food and great ambiance. Service is variable (we ate there maybe 6 times over three weeks and service ranged from adequate to excellent.

Libby E.

Yelp
Our food and drinks were delicious. Best crab cakes around. The service was great and everything was clean.

Christine B.

Yelp
While visiting New Orleans for Mardi Gras, we visited this restaurant, which came highly recommended, and lived up to my expectation. From the hospitable hostess, to our outstanding server (Burt- I believe was his name) to all the great food items we ordered, there wasn't anything that wasn't good on the menu. There is no need to go into detail about each food item because everything was flavorful and delicious. I most definitely will add this restaurant to my list of places I eat everytime I visit New Orleans.

Michael H.

Yelp
Oh, the old Houston's... the new owner's kept the magic and added a few twists of their own. Still totally delicious and perfect for those times when you want spinach & artichoke dip, a martini, and a burger & fries... or baby back ribs and a salad.

Jovan W.

Yelp
What's next, they're gonna give me a raw steak and tell me to cook it at home. Just paid $17.47 for an order of cold spinach dip. I sat down at my desk, ready to eat and the dip was literally ice cold. This was my final straw with this restaurant. Y'all can have it, I'm done. I am posting this on every social site I own... this is a disgrace

Don T.

Yelp
I have not been to this restaurant before. The food and service were fantastic. We did not know it was martini night. We took full advantage of that. We ordered a dirty Grey Goose martini and a Grey Goose cosmo...$7 each. We started with fried oysters in a cream spinach sauce. They were so tasty. I had a French dip sandwich made with prime rib and my husband had the grilled redfish served with corn. Both were fantastic. The service was good. We will definitely go back again.

Lisa M.

Yelp
We had a fantastic time at the Boulevard. We started with the 8$ cosmo drink special. We sat outside on the upstairs balcony. The weather was perfect and our server Justin was top notch. I got the prime rib and my boyfriend got the Hawaiian Steak! They were both delicious. We ended with the key lime pie!

Kyle C.

Yelp
This restaurant was great. We visited at lunch time during the week. The restaurant was completely full but we were able to get right in and waited on accordingly. The deviled eggs app tasted like something your mother or family made at the holiday time. They were delicious. Also really loved the salmon burger. The kale salad was to die for. You can also go next door to their "market" and purchase their common apps.

Yelp
My last review sparked the attention of the manager Andrew, at The Boulevard and thru emails he offered to oversee our next reservation and dining experience . He was genuinely concerned that our last experience did not meet our full expectations. This Bistro is located on Veterans Blvd. This restaurants' atmosphere feels like old elegant New Orleans . Upon entering you see a heavy oak bar and walls with New Orleans style red color brick arches and dining nooks. There are three seating options. Seating options are lunch at the bar , booth or you have tables ; we requested a table to accommodate my mother who was using a walker. We were seated in a timely manner just minutes after our reservation time of 12:30. This was peak lunch time and the people flowed in and out with ease . Tables were turned or flipped quickly after patrons departed. The hostesses were VERY accommodating to our special needs as my 85 yr old mother was using a Walker and had oxygen . She preferred a table with a pathway with no stairs . Our hostess was very sweet and checked on our comfort during our very short wait of maybe 5-6 min because we had turned down the first available . Our server MARGARET S. was very attentive and anticipated every need seemingly -before we could ask . The Bistro manager , Andrew oversaw our lunch and graciously offered us a complimentary appetizer or dessert ; we chose the deviled egg appetizer which was delicious as they boast a savory sweet and savory flavor that is elevated by the real bacon crumbles on top. Yum ! I would order again and recommend ! My main dish was the Salad with Chicken and peanut sauce dressing . It arrived fresh, chilled and beautifully arranged in a cone tower like formation . The ingredients are just bursting with flavor and crunch ! This is my second time at this restaurant chain ordering the same thing because I just enjoy it so much. The chicken serving tossed in with the salad was so plentiful nearly every fork full had chicken on it . The portion of chicken was greatly improved over my first experience at the other location . My mother, ordered the crab cake with anticipation of it being made with lump crab and served with the remoulade sauce. She thought her crab cake was very very good . ( special low/no salt request ) She substituted the veggie of the day over the fries . She enjoyed her lunch very much because Margaret S. made her feel comfortable with each request. Beverages : unsweetened tea and 1/2 ( fresh squeezed) signature lemon aid ... I will definitely order again ! I wished I lived here so I could frequent this restaurant more often than when I return to my hometown and visit my mother. I want to say that everyone at The Boulevard made this experience special . My lunches with my mom are precious to me . She gets to pick the restaurant! Mom says go ... Go go !!! Elegant atmosphere , attentive staff great food . You won't be disappointed .

Yelp
Boulevard is where the old Houston's was. The ambience is pretty similar, but of course it is very corporate. The servers are very good. They are very attentive and professional. The food is quite yummy. My only real complaint is that their seafood isn't really as good as some of the other restaurants around here.

Heidi R.

Yelp
So excited they opened a location in the FQ! Best crab cakes in the city! Can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Consistently delish!!!

Chase M.

Yelp
Inconsistent food and service. The straw that broke the camel's back was the apparently stressed out manager who was unnecessarily rude. Unfortunately Houston's left big shoes to fill and Boulevard has never come close.

Sadie E.

Yelp
Delicious! Delicious! The service, atmosphere, and food are all great. I've gotten the cheeseburger multiple times now and it is amazing every time. I get it well done and it comes cooked just how I like it. Their fries are nice and juicy and are delicious if you dip them in their honey mustard! My Mom got the crab cake and loved it! My Dad got the ribs and also enjoyed them!! We get the spinach dip appetizer every time we go and it is sooo good!! Would recommend the spinach dip. The restaurant is dimly lit but not too dark to where you can not see your food. The wait staff is quick and attentive. Overall, love the food here.

Jaclyn N.

Yelp
Boulevard has really been inconsistent this year. In the last few months alone, I've ordered take out twice and dined in a few times. My husband and I always order the same thing, so you can imagine we can recognize when it's made correctly (the reason why we love it) and when it's not. We always get the smoked salmon appetizer, spinach and artichoke dip (if we're really hungry), Hawaiian ribeye, and prime rib. Our most recent trip we dined in an hour before closing. We ordered our usual smoked salmon appetizer. As soon as it hit the table you can see what's wrong with it without touching it. The salmon was obviously cooked hard, with bubbles on top as if it was broiled. The white sauce had traces/swirls of red sauce in it. (Looks like they used the same utensil as salsa to scoop in the smoked salmon sauce). Once we cut into the salmon with a fork it was incredibly dry and tough. It was very unappetizing. We didn't eat it. My assumption is they ran out of smoked salmon and cooked a regular piece of salmon. My visit before then, during lunch, the smoked salmon appetizer was absolutely perfect. Smokey, juicy, and soft. This time around was the complete opposite. In previous visits it never was as bad as the broiled salmon but rarely near the quality of the perfect portion I had during lunch. Very inconsistent for a popular appetizer. Our steaks were okay according to past visits. No complaints but nothing to rave about. The steaks don't seem as tender and juicy as they used to be. Could it be they're cut thinner now or product quality has declined? On our most recent take out order, I ordered the Hawaiian ribeye rare for my husband and the prime rib medium for myself. Once arriving home, to which we live mins away if that, his ribeye was medium to medium well and my prime rib was thin and cut unevenly with an uneven temperature. We stopped ordering the appetizers to go as the salmon is tossed in a box and toast points are tossed in a brown paper bag. Not very appetizing for a $17 appetizer. The spinach and artichoke dip is served cold and uncooked. Very odd when ordering to go... I didn't want to have to microwave/cook my own food in the plastic container it's stored in. Service is consistent. No complaints about that. The food is the issue. It's definitely disappointing how inconsistently correct the food is when the food is not cheap, especially our regular go to's. As a local that eats here frequently and has notice the decline and inconsistency in quality, I hope management sees this and pays more attention to the kitchen.

Yelp
RUDE AF! I have to give 10 star service all day long being in hospitals it burns me up to not get at least half of that when I spend my extremely hard earned money at a restaurant! Some may call me dumb but I had a craving for their deviled eggs which were expensive but yet i couldn't even get a freakin hello upon entering the damn building! Especially considering I ordered curbside AND I TIPPED! Never again! #DisappointingService

Yelp
I'm a very regular patron of this establishment. I continue patronizing this establishment because of the staff; not so much the food as the food isn't consistently good if I'm going to be % real/honest (Metairie), however, the staff is consistently fantastic which keeps me visiting this establishment weekly. :-) From the moment I walk into the restaurant, I'm ALWAYS greeted with a BIG smile & hug from Shane who I engage with most Saturdays I visit. He's my guy! And is the absolute BEST. :-) Teigen & Sage are also GREAT!! This establishment has the BEST servers & bartenders. They're ALL quite engaging & personable. Honorable mentions for the servers go out to... Schway, Claude, Brad, DJ, Jamie, Rachel, Vivian, Taylor, Allison, Peter, & Whitney. Honorable mentions for the bartenders go out to... Angel, Adam, Both Nicole's, & Lauren. These are the people who keep me coming back, however, the consistency with the kitchen staff & foods being prepared warrants improvement. Management mentions... Jay & Ms. Pam are ALWAYS great & go out of their way to make things right when the food isn't as it should be. Elmwood location honorables go out to Kat & Sophia (Hostesses), Larry, Christian, Ashley (Bartenders) & April, Hailey, Erin, Ricardo & Mario (Servers) & a couple others whose name I've forgotten. Management... Ms. Jan & Lindsey are great also. And lastly, but not least... Dillon (Northshore)! Dillon is AWESOME!! Either location is worth visiting. This establishment has a knack for hiring some of the BEST people despite their off days concerning the food. So definitely visit. You enter with a smile & leave with an even BIGGER one. :-) Vonn C.

Yelp
I can for happy hour and I ordered the petite ribeye sandwich. Big MISTAKE! I am so sad that I didn't go to Saltgrass. The sandwich was horrible it was medium rare pink showing. I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked. On the menu it doesn't say how it is dressed and it came with lettuce and onion... I took a Benadryl because I'm allergic to them. The fries were frigid cold and the margarita was verrrrrrrry tart. Thanks to Nate for adding a little simple syrup. I felt like I was drinking lime juice. I looked in the kitchen area and one of the cooks was looking at me as if he was waiting for me to sent it back. I've tried to give this place a chance and they continue to fail. Let's just say I got it boxed to take home and put on my griddle.DISAPPOINTING. Thanks, Nate for check

Janna J.

Yelp
This is a nice causal place to have dinner with friends. Food and service are great. The last time I went there was a bit of a wait between our appetizer and entrees, but that won't stop us from going back. The spinach dip is some of the best in the city!

Mariah M.

Yelp
I have to say, this is fine dining! I went to the Boulevard for my birthday to have a solo dinner, as my plans kept getting cancelled. I normally order to-go, but I am so glad I decided to dine in. My server was Chalida (I hope I spelled that correctly) and she was the best server I've had in my entire dining experience. She honestly catered to me and ensured that I have a completely vegetarian meal. I started by ordered the Deviled eggs and she assured me that the yolk portion is whipped separately from the pork bits. THEY WERE DELICIOUS. I love a deviled egg that has some sweetness to it. I tried to order the spinach and artichoke dip. She came back and asked if I wanted to keep that as an appetizer because it is made with chicken broth. She recommended the Woodfired Artichokes and it was perfection. I began by eating them incorrectly, but Chalida came by and showed me how to actually enjoy the dish. You're apparently supposed to pull the leaves with your fingers and eat the artichoke flesh at the bottom. It was so juicy and flavorful with the seasonings that were charred onto the artichoke. The leaves were really meaty, I felt like I was eating seafood! AND I WAS BROUGHT A WARM TOWEL TO CLEAN MY HANDS AFTER! I then ordered the veggie burger with fries. I don't know what the combination is for the veggie patty, but they soy glaze is a lovely finish. The patty stays together pretty well after being cut. The food was all around perfect I was too stuffed to enjoy a complimentary birthday treat, and you aren't allowed to take it to go. BUT I will be back and I will be trying the apple cobbler with ice cream. Overall, this was a lovely birthday experience and I can't wait to go back to just dine in.

Donita M.

Yelp
Worst meal I've had in a long time. EVERYTHING was poorly seasoned. The ABSOLUTE worst Gumbo ( I wouldn't even want to have that name. ) I do have friends that go there but I think it is for cocktails rather that the food. But BleH I wouldn't go back.

Alicia M.

Yelp
I decided to have an early dinner here since I was in the area. I usually dine at the Elmwood location, so this was my first time here. The interior definitely had a different vibe, it was much more low-key and relaxed. I liked it! I had the French dip sandwich, which was delicious (as expected). The other guest had a half rack of ribs. I tasted them and they were very tender and flavorful. The red cabbage side was interesting but very good. As always, I think that they have the best Cole slaw...so yummy! My only complaint is that there were gnats flying around. We were seated close to the bar so that probably made it worse. Overall, I do think that the food is better at this location, but the gnats were a turn off.

Terry M.

Yelp
Recently had Sunday dinner our waitress Cynthia was extraordinary, knowledge of the menu and overall attire was over the top. We will definitely be back and ask for Cynthia!

Lanell G.

Yelp
Had dinner last night, and everything was wonderful. The prime rib was cooked perfectly, delicious kale salad. But the best part was the service provided by our waiter, Hunter! He is top notch, and truly made the evening fantastic.

Colby W.

Yelp
Don't order online I guess? I am usually pretty satisfied with my food, but I decided to order online and eat at home. When I got home I found what looks like the scraps of what I ordered. Very disappointed.

Erica W.

Yelp
I usually enjoy my experience at the boulevard. Unfortunately I decided to try something different then my usual burger or crab cakes. I decided to get the crispy tempura chicken tenders this time around. I would not recommend them if you want something crispy. The chicken was extremely greasy as shown in the picture. The saddest part was the grease from the chicken got all over my fries. It was basically a soggy and greasy mess. My friend got the ribs and said they were delicious but the daily veggie was very bland.

Lam B.

Yelp
If I could give it 0 stars I would after tonight's food. I am a normal customer at this establishment and I will say I will never return to this restaurant ever again. I ordered the pork ribs like I normally do every time I go here to eat. The meat usually falls off the bone without even using a knife. Tonight what was brought out was Danish ribs. They barely had any meat on it. You could barely cut between the ribs there was hardly any meat. Not worth the price they were trying to charge. Definitely not my go to place for ribs anymore.

Carl H.

Yelp
The service was terrible. They never came to the table and 2 waiter walked pass without even saying hello.

Janine M.

Yelp
I've been twice and the first time I got the ribeye and the second time I got the prime rib. I was disappointed both times with the steak but I do like the atmosphere and the other food items. I guess in the future, I will get something other than a steak and hope for a different outcome. Someone I know loves the Hawaiian ribeye and was happy with it while I was there so maybe, just maybe I will try that. Nice place and nice ambiance and not too far from home so we will see.

Gina H.

Yelp
We had to opportunity to eat here for a second time on New Year's Eve. I had the redfish topped with crabmeat in a lemon butter sauce. It was delicious! You didn't even know there was fish on our table! Which my husband appreciated lol. My husband had the filet mignon. He enjoyed it very much. He said the mashed potatoes were good as well. We both had the seasonal veggies. Peas and carrots in a light maple glaze, we cleaned our plates! Our waiter was great as well as all the ladies at the hostess stand! Check them out! Ohhhhhhh...their homemade creamy spinach artichoke dip..Wow! I will need to order this during our next visit lol

Paul H.

Yelp
I have enjoyed this restaurant for a very long time. The food quality, the presentation, the atmosphere, the value and most of all, the wonderful staff keep me coming back often. This review replaces a previous review where I expressed one unfortunate incident that recently happened. I am pleased to know that my grievance was addressed to my total satisfaction. I will look forward to many fantastic meals in the future. It's hard for Metairie restaurants to compete with the world class New Orleans restaurants but truly, Boulevard American Bistro serves up some amazing dishes - from the steaks, ribs, fish or even the burger or club sandwich at lunch time, you can't go wrong. The spinach and artichoke appetizer is just glorious! Just don't get too full before the meal.

Tina T.

Yelp
I highly recommend reservations as the night gets busier, so there will be a wait time. My table of 6 ordered the following apps and entrees: buck's deviled eggs, smoked salmon, house cream spinach, cheeseburger, fire roasted half chicken, filet mignon, prime rib, hawaiian ribeye, and barbecue ribs (very dry). Personally, I think the apps were a lot better than the entrees. If I were to come back, I would only get the smoked salmon, hawaiian ribeye and fire roasted half chicken with loaded potatoes.

Scarlett M.

Yelp
Let me preface my review by laying out potential bias/influence: I went to this restaurant on my birthday. I had two friends with me, one of who's spouse works at this location in a not-entry-level position. Said friend and spouse handled making the reservation, so the staff had an extra level of awareness regarding our table. Now, with that out of the way... This is a restaurant that could easily be for a nice night out. Salads and sandwiches are in the $15-20 range, and entrées in the $20-40 range; not cheap, but some options available for those with thinner wallets. The lighting is dim on the interior, making for a more intimate feel, so dress up and it'll feel like fancy dining. There's no dress code though, so you don't actually *have* to dress up; I went in jeans and a Saints shirt. All of the staff seemed friendly and attentive, and our waitress was patient and professional when people at our table had questions. As for the food, I ordered the grilled shrimp pasta. There was one major thing they did that I have to point out: they didn't leave the tails on the shrimp. Thank goodness! I despise the trend of leaving tails on shrimp, especially for dishes like pasta, so I was very glad that the shrimp were fully peeled. They also were packed with flavor, reaching almost blackened-level seasoning. There was just enough pasta that I could bring some home for a second meal. For dessert I got the cobbler. There wasn't a train of staff singing "Happy Birthday," for which I'm grateful, but they did put a candle on my dessert for me. The cobbler was decent; not bad, but not amazing. I'm not a fan of cheesecake, but I heard that their cheesecake is probably their best desert. Overall it was a good experience and I would go back again to try other dishes.

Jaun M.

Yelp
We ate here twice during our visit to New Orleans, we actually canceled another dinner reservation to come back to this restaurant in the French Quarters. The food was amazing, service was 5 star. Coris and the other waitresses treated us extremely well, another reason why we returned and will return again in the future. I have have no idea why any reviews would be negative, our experience was extremely positive. And yes , we will definitely suggest to friends and will return over and over . Thank You Coris, for being such a lovely person and working so hard.

John C.

Yelp
Went for lunch but they did not have a lunch menu. Ordered the 'Pressed Cuban' which came with very little pork (see photo for what a teaspoon of pork looks like) and actually some good cole slaw (that's why the one star); $16! Now I do not mind paying whatever if what is served makes me feel like it was worth it; this was not. We got an order of french fries (see photo) for the two of us, $9 for what was about the same as a large fries at a fast food place. We were not offered and were unable to order some ketchup because the waiter was not seen after he served the food until it was time to bring the bill. So for $52 plus gratuity, we got a couple of mediocre Cuban sandwiches with cole slaw and an order of fries, one tea and one coke. BTW, saw the 'Fire roasted' 1/2 chicken w/mashed potatoes ($22) served at the table next and that was some small bird, looked like 1/2 a squab. If this is indicative of their quality then it will be the last time I'll patronize. Sorry, I did not see the quality or value in their product.

Yelp
The food was amazing for happy hour! One of my fav places to go and sit at the bar. Service is good as well

Yelp
Looking for a restaurant with a nice atmosphere and menu thats offers something for every palate? Look no further. The lighting is a bit dim which offers a more intimate setting. Dress is casual, however, there were plenty of people who opted for more formal attire. Boulevard American Bistro was the perfect lunch/brunch place on a holiday weekend where many places are typically booked and no longer taking reservations. I made reservations which weren't required , but suggested. Every host/hostess greeted me upon entrance. It was nice to be acknowledged by all. I was seating immediately and provided with menus. My waitress was very attentive and not overbearing, i enjoyed having her and it seemed like that was the standard from each waiter/waitress which is an added plus. For starters I had the bbq shrimp. With this being a favorite of mine, I haven't been to many places who hit the mark. I must say this appetizer was perfect, the sauce, shrimp, and bread. Perfect portions, and the taste just right. If there was anything I would've changed, I would've preferred the dish be hot on arrival to the table. Tasted so good, I forgot to capture a picture. Now on to the meal. Crab cakes can easily be the best or worst option on any menu, so I choose to order with caution at any restaurant. Currently I'd rank this as number 3 on my list of restaurants with best crab cakes. The crack cakes have the perfect crust on the outside and were nicely pan seared. Very large crab cakes, a bit creamy on the inside, no filler is perfect. Nothing but crabmeat. I'm not quite sure what was missing, maybe a seasoning of some sort, but there was something that I couldn't quite put my finger on. I would recommend more of the Dijon sauce which was the perfect accompaniment, just not enough. The two large crab cakes at market price are def worth a try. Had enough to take a crab cake to go and enjoy it with a salad the following day. The black beans and rice were perfectly seasoned and who doesn't love carbs? I'd order that as a side to go if I'm looking for a quick bite to eat. Overall, this restaurant provided a nice experience and if I were in the area and look for a nice lunch or early dinner I would definitely stop by.

Yelp
This review is low because of the food experience. Laura, our server, was excellent! For many years, since it was Houston's, my husband gets the chicken tenders. The past two times we have been here, they are fried hard and dry. There was a buttermilk tempura batter which made them light and fluffy. Now they come out like Popeye 's but without the seasoning. So disappointing!

Yelp
We ate with my besties at the Elmwood location & this is now one of my favorite restaurants in NOLA. The food was great, amazing drinks & very chic atmosphere

Yelp
Everything here is delicious. Service is great and extremely consistent. I love all their appetizers and their tuna salad is heavenly! Love their spinach and artichoke dip. It's perfect! My husband loves their chicken salad so that's a big reason why we come here. It's a little on the pricier side of things but sometimes a great treat.

Yelp
Had family dinner here tonight. Food and service were spectacular. I would suggest you try the smoked salmon appetizer, the wood grilled artichoke appetizer was also lovely. The wife teenagers and the little one all enjoyed their meals. Not something that happens at every restaurant. Good steaks good appetizers and delicious dessert. Our server was Ms. Crystal she was courteous and professional. She took very good care of us. This will definitely be a place the wife and kids make me come back to. Thanks.

Yelp
The grilled chicken salad is so good but the other thing that was on the table tonight...EW EW EW!! I looked over and there was RAT POO next to the Tabasco! This place needs to hire a cleaning and a pest control service. There's brown splatter marks on the walls next to the tables too! Has a health inspector been here recently??

Yelp
I know they have other servers but I will say ask for Samantha B. She was just amazing my friend 1st time there and she recommended a few different dishes. 2 got the Hawaiian Ribeye which they devoured, cooked perfectly. I went with the redfish with a side kale salad and it was fantastic!!!!!! If you like bourbon try the boulevardier. For desert she recommended the brownies but they do have a apple walnut cobbler both with ice cream and we end up with both of those. Big enough to split but leave a bit of room as it is worth getting your own. Samantha B thank you for some great recommendations!

Yelp
When a restaurant has a limited 1 page menu, it is designed to make things easier on the kitchen to prepare and execute. Unfortunately, this was not the case on our Sunday night visit. The kitchen was slow and failed completely: the Fire Roasted Artichoke was cold in the middle, deviled eggs were poorly stuffed (not a pastry bag) and very cold. The prime rib was served cold and salmon was raw not rare. Our waiter, Troy, was outstanding and was attentive and pleasant. P.S. the ribs were warm. Not one item arrived at the proper temperature. It will be a while before we return again.
