I love this restaurant. I have been there twice and on special occasions. Yes, pricey and yes, Excellent food and service. It's a small house setting. We enjoyed the steak tartar, bone marrow, artichoke dip, french onion soup, halibut, salmon, filet mignon, fine wine, and great desserts. The staff was attentive, friendly, and I don't think I had to pour any wine into my own glass. We certainly felt special.

Absolutely delicious! Everything from the bread to the after dinner coffee is superb! We've been coming here for over 12 years and it never ever disappoints

My girlfriend and I came here a couple nights ago to celebrate our anniversary, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. I had the filet mignon and she ordered the beef bourguignon. Both dishes were perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. Our server, De'Ron (sorry if I spelled that wrong), gave us a fantastic wine recommendation that paired beautifully with our meals. He was attentive and really added to the overall experience. The atmosphere was warm and intimate, perfect for a special occasion. Everything from the service, the food and the vibe made for a night we won’t forget. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fine dining spot in Elk Grove.

We managed to get last minute seating in the patio area for 4 people and can only say that it was the most unbelievable meal from starters to desert. My husband, who has travelled the world and eaten food prepared by world famous Chefs came away saying this meal exceeded anything he has ever eaten. If able he would rate it worthy of a Mitchelin STAR.

Google
Amazing experience! Excellent service and food. You could really tell the staff is highly trained they always made sure water was filled (it was an exceptionally hot day) and checked in on customers more than once. The food is SUPER fresh. We got the pan seared scallops and grilled fillet mignon. Both were cooked to perfection!

Google
Absolutely, positively delectable. The beet salad and the peach salad were terrific, but it was the entrees that were unique and so well presented. The Ono fish pan seared w/ risotto was a new one for us, and the crisp outside and firm inside was perfect. Am not a brussels sprouts person, so they were kind to replace them with roasted carrots. The salmon with ratatouille got rave reviews as well. All with a bottle of Flowers pinot. Two desserts to share, the croissant bread pudding and a peach cobbler were devoured. Having just returned from Europe and many a Michelin restaurant - we believe the Bistro needs to be on the next regional award selection. Super, experienced professional staff too. We felt welcomed from the second we walked in the door. Kudos to the chef and management for creating a place we will return to often.

Google
What a gem! This is perfect for date night or intimate dinner with friends. I came in for dinner at 5pm with a couple friends and we're warmly greeted and promptly seated. The host gave us the specials of the night and piloted some delicious wine. Server was really nice and gave good recommendations. For appetizers we tried deviled eggs and pork belly. Must try!! I had the Broccoli Cheddar soup, followed by the salmon. DELICIOUS! My friends both had the Wedge Salad and Chicken Breast with Mushroom sauce and they devoured every last bite!

This was our first visit and it was an excellent experience. Searching for the perfect pork chop and found it last night...

Yelp
The Boulevard bistro is a very nice place to spend an evening out for a romantic dinner. It's a quaint old house that has been fully refurbished and is impeccably decorated. The food is excellent, and the waitstaff are always very attentive .

Yelp
Incredible experience staff was kind and fast I was recommended a turkey club sandwich. It came out quick the bread the right amount of crunchy and soft. Lettuce had a nice bounce and crispiness. Side of fries were seasoned perfectly crispy with the softest warm center!! It's a must try lunch spot

Yelp
Fine dining, but casual and cozy. Really fast, efficient service. We liked a lot of our food - we loved the deviled eggs and pork belly. Whatever apple/radish slaw they use on the pork belly was my husbands favorite - and he hates apples and radish Their food is much richer than it appears or sounds, so be careful to not order too much like we did ;) The portions may look small, but you'll be full before the entrees come out if you order more than 2 appetizers. I actually really like how quiet and lowkey the place was. I could actually enjoy dinner with my partner and have a conversation with him without loud music or big crowds of people. Everything feels very intimate.

Yelp
I ordered take-out from this place on Valentine's Day and ordered the bone marrow appetizer, duck, and steak entrees. I don't have the receipt but it was probably around $150-200. The bone marrow was great as usual, the duck was tender, and the steak was cooked medium rare as requested. I would recommend dining-in, the restaurant is small but has a home feel (I think it's literally a house). They gave me a side of break to-go as well which was considerate. Overall, this restaurant is great for fancy dates in the Elk Grove area. I don't make enough scratch to eat here occasionally, but this place and Sheldon Inn will scratch that itch if you feel like spending. After eating here, take your date on a short walk down Old Elk Grove to the multiple bars in the area.

Yelp
Still one of my favorite spots! Always great food and great service. Does not matter who takes care of you, all the staff are always super nice and friendly. The restaurant is perfect for couples or bigger groups, just an over all great place.

Yelp
Always a good time here at Boulevard Bistro with great food and great service. It's small and quaint. The menu doesn't change very often; wish they offered more seasonal specials and small dishes.

MaryAnn H.

Yelp
Had a great dinner here. Food was great. Attentive server. Intimate setup, Not your big noisy restaurant.

Yelp
Food and service were AMAZING!! All staff including the owner were so friendly and welcoming. The food was 10/10, I had the steak and fries and crème brûlée and it was so yummy. I highly recommend this place for a nice night out for dinner.

Yelp
Wanted to check out this place as it was on my son's must-try list for awhile. At first we drove past the unassuming bldg. This restaurant was formally a house on a main street. Good news is there is parking off street behind the " house". Flat path with a bit of rise but otherwise handicap access. Once inside we appreciated the renovations making the former one story house into a comfortable dining place. Hardwood floors add to the comfy welcoming atmosphere. Menu had a fair variety of options for its size. Our group ordered appetizers, grilled bone marrow-deviled egg (just cuz)-steak tartare, which were eaten so fast so no pictures. For entrees we again devoured the seafood choppino, beef bourhuignon, filet mignon and grilled swordfish. No take home boxes needed! Although stuffed, we had to have dessert. These i had to take a photo as I had time and they were nicely presented. While no one favorite , we ranked them a 3-way tie (creme brulee, panna cotta and strawberry ice cream). Of particular mention was the Thyme and Thyme Again cocktail. Very yummy. And the attentive and helpful service but DuRon and team. Overall a wonderful dining experience for our group in a very special restaurant.

Yelp
I've heard about this place so many times since I went to the karate school that used to across the street, so glad to have finally tried it. Walking in was interesting since I believe the restaurant is a repurposed home. The layout made me feel like I was at home too. It was neat how there's a small bar set up at the entrance and you don't see the dining floor until you turn the corner. We had a reservation for 5pm on a Thursday, so there weren't a lot of customers until about halfway through our meal. The server was friendly and had a very inviting vibe, but it felt as though we had more meaningful interaction with the nice employees who were very diligent in changing out our silverware, clearing our plates, and refilling our waters. The steak tartar was a special that was mentioned by the waiter and it was very delicious. It initially came out without the egg on top, so the interaction with the server when he tried to take it back was a bit awkward. Nevertheless, once it was ready to go everyone was quick to get a bite. The bread that came before our meal was a bit strong with the seasoning, but eating it with the tartar helped to cut that down. The staff were nice in offering to split our salads for us as well. My blackberry salad with feta (I believe) was decent, with the blackberry really saving the day. Our entrees felt like they took a while considering there wasn't really anyone in the restaurant at the time, but they were worth the wait. The salmon I ordered had a perfect crispiness on top and the capers and sauce underneath brought some excellent flavors. Lastly, we ordered two orders of bread pudding to celebrate the birthdays at the table and they were so delicious. Usually when I have it anywhere else it's either too dry or too mushy, but this place has it nailed. Not sure if I would come again anytime soon, but very curious to try other offerings since it seems they do change their menu from time to time.

Yelp
Cute place. We sat outside in the patio. It was nice. Bread and butter was brought out. It was tasty. We ordered the sausage small plate, which was really good. Came with baby pickles, onions, mustard and bread. Also ordered the blackberry salad. Could have used a little more flavor. The duck was nicely cooked. Our server, Ayden (sp?) was great.

Yelp
The bone marrow is always a great choice here. If you are a fan of blue cheese, the wedge salad is a great choice! If your waiter/waitress recommends the bread pudding... listen to them... I am not a fan of bread pudding, but that was one of the best desserts that I have ever had... it even made their already bomb creme Brule secondary!

Yelp
Perfect place for a special dinner date or just a fancy meal any other time. This place is pricey but reasonable for quality and freshness. Everything we had was great, service is always top notch, you definitely get what you pay for. They made the meal extra special with a birthday candle for my husband.

Yelp
There's probably not much more to be said about this place that hasn't already been said, but it was such a standout experience for the Elk Grove area that I couldn't not write about it! I've been to restaurants made out of houses before, but never a fine-dining restaurant... and it works! The juxtaposition of high-quality, "fancy" dishes while eating in what was essentially a living room at one point just feels special. For this reason, the experience is quite intimate, with tables fairly close together, so if you're squeamish about others overhearing your conversation, you may feel a tad awkward. For me this added to the charm a bit, as we ended up chatting or joking with folks at other tables a few times. As expected, the food was exquisite, which excellent wine pairings. The filet minion was cooked and seasoned perfectly, along with the pork chops and salmon that my other group ordered. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, even if non of the flavors were necessarily unexpected. This is a place to get high-quality, hearty, American dishes with a fancy flair. Oh, and I should mention that the deviled eggs were some of the best I've ever had, which was a nice surprise!

Yelp
This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Elk Grove. First and last experience from customer service, excellent quality food and setting for close and personal conversations. Good for mother days brunch, romantic evening or just for a good night dinner. I have had several dishes by them, and has always been amazing, tasteful and filling. The menu is limited and doesn't change often A must in Elk Grove!

Yelp
Food and service was absolutely amazing! The New York Steak was juicy and cooked to perfection, and the sauce was the perfect pairing. Servers were very kind and patient, 10/10 recommend!

Betateser B.

Yelp
Let me just start off by saying how good the atmosphere felt, it was so delightful I felt right at home, not to mention how friendly the staff were. The food they served was one of the best if not the best food I have tasted in my life. Their hospitality really bring out the atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
My mom and I came here after receiving a gift card and we were not disappointed! Everything was amazing! Our server Aiden was very attentive and kind and really made our experience great. We loved every single thing we ordered and we're already planning another trip back.

Yelp
Such a lovely dinner we had at the Boulevard Bistro! I took a friend here for dinner to celebrate the holiday and we both really enjoyed our dinner. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and very thorough. We started with the bone marrow which was really yummy! For our main courses we ordered the pork chop special and beef bourgeon which I was thought was outstanding!! So tender and extremely flavorful, so YUM! For dessert we tried the crème brûlée and the chocolate decadence both were just right on the sweetness and portions, and really good! We will absolutely be back, also a side note the restaurant is located in an old bungalow style house, which gives it so much ambience, very cool!

Yelp
I've been here numerous times and it never disappoints. From the great service to the quaint old house that was turned into this great place. I had the shrimp and polenta plate. Very good. Highly recommend this place to anyone in Elk Grove that's tired of restaurant chains.
google avatar

Yelp
They put out a limited menu that seem to be unchanging. When they offer specials they run out quickly and if you have a later than 1st seating your out of luck.

Yelp
Love this restaurant in Old Elk Grove , the service is always great. Nice chill atmosphere and the food is incredible. Been here twice and will definitely be making it a 3 peat soon . I'm a drop some photos of the amazing dishes .. I'm not a bread pudding person but omg their bread pudding is amazing . It changed me lol .

Yelp
Food was amazing! I was very impressed with the bread, brussel sprouts, octopus, wedge salad, duck conflit and chocolate bar. Servers were amazing and very kind. The inside of the nice restaurant gave me nice, but casual and cozy vibes. It was wonderful 10/10 I definitely recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
The food are just amazing. Every bite has good flavor and seasoning. Everything on the plate just goes well together. The Salmon had a nice sear and cooked to order, with the right amount of salt. The same goes with the filet mignon!

Yelp
We have always wanted to try this Restaurant and decided to dine here last night. I'm so glad we did! This is a small Bistro that looks like it used to be an old house. It is pleasantly decorated and so welcoming. I can't say enough about the service, it was Outstanding! They had a person who filled/refilled water, brought bread, and cleared the table as we were finishing our appetizers. She was so professional and nice. They also had a person who just brought out the food to the all the tables continuously. Our server was Aiden and he was Terrific! He explained the specials and even recommended some wine that we may enjoy. He also checked on us often and genuinely cared about our dining experience. The Food was amazing! We had the deviled eggs and Rillettes for an appetizer. It was very good and I would definitely order it again. For the Entree we both ordered the Braised Lamb Shank. The meat fell off the bone and was so tender and moist. It was topped with a red wine gravy that was to die for. Congratulations to the Owner/Manager and the Employees who work here. The food, the service, the ambience was an Amazing Experience. This is Fine Dining at its Best. I would give this more stars if I could.

Yelp
Terrific evening. Nice staff and warm inside. Patio was full and lively. Food was simple, straight forward but plates were well-balanced and delicious. We were there for the filet mignon and it didn't disappoint. Saw plates of salmon and halibut on tables near us that looked great. We ended with crème brûlée that was just a great way to end. Honey's first good steak since returning to the omnivore and an early Mother's Day meal were very much appreciated. Not sure why I am in the picture but so it is.

Yelp
This place was amazing! Last night was my first time going to Boulevard Bistro, and I will definitely be going back. We got the wedge salad, deviled eggs, the beef short ribs, filet mignon, and the bread pudding. I'm always so indecisive about what I want to eat so I asked our waiter for his recommendations and everything he recommended was great! DRon, our waiter was extremely nice, patient, and friendly. Also, the music selection was great. I was we would have taken more photos but we were too busy enjoying the delicious food! Thank you Boulevard Bistro. We will be back!!!

Yelp
Me and my finance came here for our 10th anniversary, and it have to say everything about this environment was amazing. We were supposed to come here only drinks and appetizers but we ended up canceling our other reservations and eating dinner here instead.

Realina C.

Yelp
This charming restaurant in the heart of Elk Grove immediately attracted my and my husband's attention. The food did not disappoint. I ordered the steak (which was beautifully cooked) with the fries that were perfectly salted. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich and he loved the fresh focaccia bread. I would recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy a sophisticated evening with great food.

Ethan K.

Yelp
Simply lovely ambience. We found the home setting to be extremely unique and one of a kind. Service was absolutely incredible. We had ordered the half dozen oysters with mignonette as our appetizer. The taste was so clean and you could immediately tell it was high quality. We had also ordered the shrimp polenta which had very deep, roasted flavors, yet very balanced and delicious. We ended with the creme brulee, which was arguably the best we've ever had. Would come back again

Yelp
Incredible staff, foremost! We had a lovely time all around. Very quaint environment located in a converted house! The food was great. Best clam chowder I've had in my life, and that is coming from a San Franciscan! Highly recommend.

Yelp
This Restaurant is such a hidden gem. I've past by so many times until my niece purchased me an e-gift card is when I noticed. I'm so excited that she did, because this place may be small in size but it is just right for a cozy meal. Our waitress Aubrey was excellent including the waitress that was assisting her with refreshing our water. We decided to go with there special two New York Steaks with Asparagus & French Fries also a bottle of Martin Ray Sonoma Coast, Pinot Noir. The food was seasoned to perfection and oh! so juicy. For Desert we had the Cilantro Lemon Sorbet and Chocolate Torte. Everything was delicious. We will return. Our hats off to the Chef. Thanks for such an awesome meal.

Yelp
I loved everything about this restaurant. I've been wanting to try this place for some time and we passed by it and decided Friday was the night. We arrived at 6 and we didn't have reservations, but were able to be seated right away. We were immediately greeted by the host who was very friendly. They offered complimentary bread which was so good and which we later learned was made fresh every day. The bread was so soft and moist. We ordered Brussels sprouts for an appetizer which were crispy to perfection. The aioli sauce wasn't overpowering and was a perfect addition. My husband ordered the beef bourguignon and I ordered the halibut. Both entrees were a perfect portion. The beef was so tender and very flavorful. My halibut was cooked to perfection and was firm on the outside and not dry in the inside. I usually drink red wine but asked the host, Aiden I believe is his name to recommend a good white wine to pair with my halibut. He recommended one from New Zealand which I can't remember the name but it was good; not too dry and not too sweet. We finished our meal with the crème brûlée. My husband said he didn't want any because he was so full but ended up eating half of it because it was that good. I don't like things too sweet and I thought the crème brûlée was perfect for our liking. The inside is small, but have a decent amount of tables. They also have a nice private patio for extra seating. By the time we left dinner, the restaurant was full. Definitely recommend this restaurant for your next date night or if you just want some delicious, quality food. The pricing was affordable too, for everything we ordered it was less than $150.

Yelp
We went here for our first dinner date since having a baby and everything was heavenly! Our server was incredible - he was helping his brother in law who owned the place! The ambiance was very romantic and intimate! If they have a muscle special, you should definitely get it this one had chorizo and celery in it and it was incredible for dinner. We got the filet mignon and the pork chop both had exceptional flavor in the sauce was delicious ! If you have room for dessert, I highly recommend the crème brûlée !

Margaret R.

Yelp
We enjoyed a fantastic Christmas dinner for four. Everything was fantastic - service, food, and drinks! The staff is attentive but not in your face. The food excites the taste buds. Definitely worth it for special occasions.

Yelp
In short: Great food Great service Worth the price. I have been here twice now and have really enjoyed the food both times. I'm pretty sure everything on the menu would be delicious. I recently went to celebrate my birthday and got to pick a free dessert which was nice They serve free homemade focaccia bread and butter which was delish. We ordered the burrata appetizer which was really good. It came with cranberry jalapeño relish on top and was served with house made crostinis (made out of their focaccia bread) which were amazing My boyfriend ordered the Beef Bourguignon- Australian wagyu short ribs and he loved it. I got the alaskan halibut because I didn't feel like steak or salmon and was pleasantly surprised, it had good flavors that paired well together and was well cooked. Boyfriend got a beer and enjoyed it, plus I let him drink most of my blackberry cider since I'm not really in to beers ir ciders. He liked it, it was not sweet. The only thing I wish is that they had cocktails! We will be back.

Yelp
Food is always amazing! We have had the same waiter a couple of times, I forget his name right now, bit he is the best! All the staff is friendly and polite.

Yelp
We've only been here twice but it was great both times. The chef / owner came out to talk with me after stating my nut allergy, to assure me it wouldn't be a problem. The food is delicious and the menu changes regularly. The ambiance is upscale, but cozy and homey. Probably the best restaurant in all of Elk Grove!
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of eating at Boulevard Bistro again after a couple of years and nothing has changed! Great food and great service. You get complimentary bread! We ordered the Beef Tar Tar as an appetizer. The Lamb Shank and the Duck Confit as the main entrée. The lamb fell off the bone with barely a touch. The duck's skin was crispy and the meat fell off really easily! Both dishes were seasoned well and not too overpowering. There's really no complaints here! A perfect place for an intimate meal with a special someone or a little group.
google avatar

Yelp
The Boulevard Bistro is such a quaint restaurant with so much charm! The food was delicious and the waiter did a wonderful job at suggesting a wine pairing. The plate of bone marrow is a must-try. Everything was cooked perfectly; from the grilled pork chop down to my boyfriend's mushrooms & polenta. We finished off with creme brûlée for dessert! No complaints about service because it was great. Would recommend & revisit in the future. Take advantage of their specials!

Yelp
The quality of the food is excellent. And the staff members are very charming and attentive. I'm just so glad that there's still a high quality restaurant in Elk Grove. Our entire party enjoyed their meals and desserts.

Yelp
My fiancé and I visited Boulevard Bistro for the first time a few weeks ago. We've passed by this place all the time and finally had an opportunity to go. The place was packed on a Friday night and no wonder. The ambience is very cute and quaint. A little small, but not a biggie. The waiter was great! Very prompt and knowledgeable of the food. He was a member of the family who owns the restaurant. The food was so good. I have no complaints. I'll definitely be returning.

Yelp
Valentine's Day 2022 dinner [Elk Grove CA] We just wanted to try this hidden gem in Elk Grove, no special occasion other than it's a Valentine's Day weekend.. I immediately booked for an ideal dinner date close to V-Day and we lucked out... it was the last available reservation for Saturday, 12th, at 7:30p... tonight! The dinner menu is small which includes appetizers, salads and entrées. I chose the Pan Seared Salmon. Love the crunch on the edges. Texture and flavor is on point and the salmon was seasoned just right. I loved the fresh broccolini... and the pine nuts was a nice touch. Didn't care so much for the Dried Cranberries Gremolata which is traditionally served with veal. My hubby had the Bone In Pork Chop... I had a taste of it and omgosh... it's soooo good! The presentation of the dishes were beautiful. Our main server was Kelsey who did a fine job. Actually, since the dining room was so small we had multiple staff members taking care of the entire guest room. They were all great and personable. This restaurant operates in a house... yes, that's right. It is a bit cramped inside. My hubby has a naturally loud voice when he speaks and he has to tone it down because the tables are close to each other. A private parking lot is behind the business. This amazing restaurant is located in the heart of Old Town Elk Grove. Review #2510

Grace K.

Yelp
Service top notch. Food absolutely to die for!! We knew dinners were great there but having the brunch option was an unexpected delight. What a gem in old Elk Grove!!

Yelp
This is a special occasion restaurant that I'm sure most people in Elk Grove know about by now. Zagat-rated, there's probably little that I could add to that and all the 4+ rated reviews here. It's located in a house on Elk Grove Boulevard in Old Town. Its compact space and discreet menu are a perfect fit for its Bistro intentions. We ordered split bone marrow, golden beet salad, and duck confit to share between the two of us. The marrow was augmented by a caper sauce, and was divinely rich. The beet salad was well-balanced, sweet from the beets and dressing, tart from the dressing and grapefruit, creamy from the goat cheese, and refreshingly bitter and earthy from the contrast of the beets and frisee. The star was the duck confit sitting on a slice of pork belly in yam puree, green beans and cherry demi-glace. S had a glass of an "interesting red", a nice Syrah that was in good balance with everything, and a good choice. A lovely dinner. Service was excellent with, by my count, at least 5 people constantly checking in on us in this small dining room, filling glasses, clearing plates, and assessing our satisfaction. [No points off, and a minor gripe, but the bread was merely passable: great grilled with marrow smeared on it, but salty and uninteresting by itself. It's a small kitchen, so I can't imagine they'd have the resources to make their own good bread, but the limitation of not a single decent bread bakery in Elk Grove who could deliver tasty loaves to them daily diminishes us all.] If you don't already know of this place, use whatever occasion you have to blow your budget and get here soon. I can't imagine that you'd be disappointed. You can be sure I will be back.

Yelp
First time coming back to Boulevard Bistro post pandemic. Looks like they expanded the parking lot in the back, still a bit tricky to find. We went to celebrate a friend's birthday. Ordered the salmon dip and artichoke dip as appetizers, which was super tasty. Had the wedge salad and lamb chops for dinner. Salad was super fresh and the lamb chops were very tasty. Service was wonderful, water refilled without being asked. Love this wonderful gem in Elk Grove!

Yelp
Food was delicious! Tried every plate. Everything was cooked perfectly. Exceptional service. Nice ambience!
