A classic parlor just across the river in Sparks, firing pies in Vulcan brick ovens since the late ’60s. Noted in Reno News & Review’s 2025 readers’ picks—worth the quick hop for tradition.

the worst pizza i’ve had in recent memory. if you want ‘crispy’ crust then this is the place for you. my pie was overcooked and the crust more like a blackened cracker. the taste was like a 1990’s bake at home frozen pizza. i should have checked it before i took it home.

Google
Not sure if my palate has changed but I used to remember this place being a solid contender for an A+ pizza. I was there last night and it's nothing like what I remember. Pizza was pretty mediocre with a crispy, cracker like crust, and the ratio of sauce and toppings was very light. I got the chicken fingers and zucchini sticks and if I'd known they were going to be right off the cisco truck, I would have skipped them. Not sure I'll go back for food after last night. still a good spot to grab a beer and hang out but the food has declined.

Google
Amazing food, super kind staff and just a nostalgic feeling every time I eat here.. this place has been open for decades and they never seem to disappoint. Pizza delicious, wings delicious, mozzarella sticks delicious!! If you want good local food, go see the team at Boulevard Pizza for some of the best pizza and wings in all of Reno and Sparks.

Bonnie L

Google
Some of the best pizza I've had and the wings were delicious too! Prices are a little high and we waited 15 minutes extra for an online pick up but it was worth it!

Google
The service at the food counter was great — quick, friendly, and helpful. Unfortunately, my experience at the bar was the opposite. After ordering food, I went to the bar to ask for a drinks menu. The older white-haired gentleman behind the bar immediately asked if I was ordering food. I told him I already had and was just looking for a menu. He said they didn’t have one but could list the prices. When I asked how pricing works since that seemed unclear he responded by asking, “Is money an issue for you?” He also questioned whether I was even old enough to be at the bar, which felt unnecessarily condescending. His tone and attitude throughout were dismissive, rude, and frankly came across as both sexist and ageist. It felt like I was being judged based on being a younger woman. I shared what happened with two employees, Jackson and another team member, who were respectful and offered to escalate it to a supervisor. I declined as I had already spent enough time being disrespected. The food was alright, but I won’t be returning unless that kind of treatment is addressed and the bar staff are held to a higher standard of professionalism. We were a party of 3 that dined around 7:30pm on 6/5/25.

Google
I placed an order at 730pm for one medium buffalo chicken pizza and had to keep calling the store until 9pm asking where my pizza was. They came at 9:08 with a freezing cold pizza and wanted to still try to make us pay 18$. Laughable. Wish i could give this place no stars really ruined my night

Google
not only the best pizza around but the best food period ! my family and i have been coming here for years and they never disappoint ! a sanitary looking kitchen, clean environment, friendly staff, and great food — who can ask for more !

Google
So much bigger inside than I expected. Seems clean but I didn't dine in. They had a side room and a little back area with some games. I called in my order around 6pm on a Sunday. It was very busy but my order was ready when I was told it would be. Seems to be all kids working there. But my food was correct and tasted good. I'll likely go back.

Yelp
How have I not reviewed Boulevard Pizza yet?! I've been coming here for years, and now that I've moved back, I'm excited I get to enjoy it more than just once a year when I'd visit "home." I've known Tony since high school, and it's so cool to see him running this place. He genuinely loves his community, his business, and his employees--and it shows. Boulevard consistently serves up great pizza and wings. You'll find them at every wing festival, and their flavors are some of my local favorites. I've tried plenty of their pizzas and honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. Fun fact: their combo pizza is the only one I'll eat--probably because they use fresh mushrooms instead of baking them in. The restaurant recently went through renovations and is now bigger and better, with plenty of space to accommodate larger groups. Whether you're here for pizza, wings, or both, Boulevard never disappoints.

Yelp
Always a favorite... If you remember Shakey's Pizza you'll understand why these pies are classic. This is our go to for small 2-24 gatherings. A great area in front for the birthday party or soccer team to be loud, and a quieter area with a bar and sports on the screens for those seeking less noise in back. Not your Chicago deep dish, but a fairly thin crust that actually crunches with every bite. If you're bringing a crowd, it's best to reserve a couple tables in advance, Boulevard Pizza has a good reputation and can get pretty busy during peek hours. They run some specials so it's always worth checking to see what the day's deal is. We upgraded our large to family size for .99 cents. If you go once you'll go back.

Yelp
Boulevard Pizza is a true original style family restaurant. It has a huge dining room with long wood barbecue style tables & a few booths. There are kids games on one end & a full service bar room at the other end. Plenty of big screen TV's with sports. Pizza's have every topping available. The chicken wings are excellent. They discontinued their salad bar when they remodeled, but there are still some salads available made in the kitchen. Their soda machine features Coke products. Prices are moderate. Manager Amy & her staff make it all happen. This is a locally owned business in an established Sparks neighborhood. Give Boulevard Pizza a try!
google avatar

Douglas B.

Yelp
This is by far my favorite place to get pizza. The staff is friendly, atmosphere is great, food is perfect. I've been to lots of places around town, but Boulevard Pizza tops the charts.
google avatar

Wesley C.

Yelp
Boulevard is a local favorite in Sparks. The restaurant is in a strip mall off of Rock. It is pretty busy on weekends. As you enter, there are two dining rooms, with a full bar in the second room. There's a little arcade space for the kids in the back. There is plenty of seating, which can accommodate large groups. They even take reservations. We normally order takeout because the pizza they make is great. Our to-go is the Chuck's Special and a pepperoni with sausage. The crust on their pizza is thin and crispy, and the toppings are always fresh. The service is good, and timely. Would definitely recommend.

Christopher K.

Yelp
Excellent service, the food was amazing, and it is a wonderful place to bring your family with and adequately noisy atmosphere.
google avatar

Deanna L.

Yelp
I can't believe I have never written a review for this place. By far our favorite pizza place in town. Let's start with the staff, everyone is super friendly especially the ladies in the bar area. They have happy hour pitchers for less than $10.00. The pizza is always spot on. I am partial to the Mexirito, but all of there pizzas are great. The crust is always perfect. The Rojos are the bestvin town, plus there is the nostalgia factor from being a kid at Shakey's. The feel of this place is the same as pizza parlors of the past. There are video games, tvs, and an ice hockey table, so bring the family.
google avatar

Yelp
Picked up a pizza here on a super busy Friday night. The first picture is what the pizza looked like when it got home. It was a little under done for my liking, the bottom was still too light. After another 5 min in a 450° oven the crust came out perfectly with a brown crispy bottom and edges . The taste was just amazing.

Yelp
The best pizza I've ever had! I live in California but every time I visit family in Reno we always order takeout. It's family owned! The people working there are all very friendly! We always order Chuck's Special, The Boulevard Combo, and Rojos. You can order an extra large and even with all those toppings the crust stays stable. Meaning it doesn't bend over. We love crunchy crust and that what you'll discover. We love the newest remodel at the front counter when ordering. It made a big difference to the look of the restaurant. Also they remodeled the bar area. Great place to hang while waiting for your order. If you like ranch dressing on your pizza, you'll never find the same delicious ranch dressing anywhere else!
google avatar

Carolyn F.

Yelp
The customer service is always great. I love the pizza, it's crispy. Rojos are also delicious.
google avatar

Laura L.

Yelp
First time trying this place and it was delicious! The guys at the counter were great too. Awesome pizza and awesome customer service! I got the chuck special pizza. Can't wait to try more things on their menu.
google avatar

Yelp
A fav when visiting family in Sun Valley Family owned with a neighborhood/family vibe & great pizza but they also have other options too. We usually get the Chuck Special and Meat Lovers but we'll try the Hawaiian next time... it looked so good! I door seating only and they have a bar in the back and a game room off to the side. For seating there is table/chairs, picnic tables, and also booths. Staff is very friendly, lots of parking... we've been here many times & never had a bad pizza or a wrong order.
google avatar

Katharine S.

Yelp
The pizza here is exquisitely delicious. The cheese tastes higher quality than that of similarly beloved places like Blind Onion. The spices that they use on their crust elevate the flavor. I'm not really a complex palate kind of person, but I truly can taste the difference here. We usually get a build your own classic pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and black olives. They are generous with their olives! The basil pesto medley specialty pizza is a great combination that I wouldn't have thought to build on my own. Boulevard Pizza also has rojos, which are fried potatoes, and wings. Very fun pizza sides. They recently renovated their ordering and paying counter, which looks nice. There's much more visibility into what's going on, and you no longer feel lost and forgotten if you're waiting for your pizza and it's taking slightly longer. That's the only downside of Boulevard: it's usually quite busy with dining in orders as well as taking out orders, so you can sometimes anticipate a 25-35 minute wait. But it's worth it!
google avatar

Lee C.

Yelp
We got here around 5:30pm on a Monday with 25% of the place full. Bar was mellow with a handful of guests at the bar. Not to busy for rescheduled NASCAR race. We ordered the family deal of a XL 3 top with wings and rojos for 60 bucks and added a specialty pizza for an additional 30 bucks. With sodas and ranch, tax and tip we're all in at 130.00 Everything was good but there was a hiccup with the rojos and wings coming out 15/20 minutes after we had already eaten 1/2 of our pizza. Definitely worth another try. And considering we took home more than a 1/2 of pizza not sure we needed an xtra pizza to begin with.
google avatar

Yelp
Boulevard pizza was one of the few we used this year for Super Bowl. We placed our order 1 week in advance for 230pm. They did an excellent job with our order and were right on time. No waiting! Highly recommend

Yelp
I am a classic cheese pizza fan and this place really does well with the classics. I usually only eat a few pieces but I tackled a whole medium pizza.

Mike L.

Yelp
I ordered online. I ordered @ 7:20 pm. The pickup time was 8:17 and after. I got there at 8:18. I see a pizza sitting on the order ready shelf hoping it wasn't mine. Sure enough, it was. This pizza had to be sitting at least, at least a half an hour, it was literally room temperature. I thought the pick up time was awful long from when I ordered but I have never ordered online here before. I will never order online from here again. Pizza wasn't anything special, probably would have been better if it was stored where it could retain some heat OR CHANGE your pick up times to match around when the pizza may actually be ready. First and last time I will order here, I will stick to the other pizza places I usually order from. So much for trying some place new.
google avatar

Yelp
Pizza is not good we ordered a pizza with meat and veggies git the pizza and it was only meat went to the counter and ask cashier about our pizza he said that's what we ordered lol no we did not not a very clean place discussing place we will not be back and when our friends ask we will let them know How this place is

Yelp
Sometimes you just want a particular flavor and a certain slice of pizza where you know what to expect and Boulevard Pizza doesn't disappoint. In the wife's and I usual "she doesn't want to cook and I'm not trying" night, Boulevard came in clutch. Half Pepperoni Half Sausage. Simple, flavorful. A staple to their eatery are their Rojo Potatoes. Better than fries any day of the year. We would enjoy that with their Fried chicken. Delicious! Picking up that night, the place was hopping! Fairly busy. I've never eaten in, but it's almost a bar/corral type atmosphere with a lively ambience of family, conversation, but pleasant. Friendly. The cashier was super cool and got me in and out of the door within minutes. I'd recommend this place definitely for a take out experience as I've never been underwhelmed by the simple, clean, slices and traditional flavors. Try it and see for yourself!
google avatar

Renee H.

Yelp
Really like their pizzas, especially the Western Cheeseburger, and the potatoes Roja are strangely addicting! Oddly enough, the only thing I was disappointed by were the wings which were dry and almost leathery. Hoping we just tried them on an off night.
google avatar

Nonda M.

Yelp
Boulevard pizza is a very busy pizza place so if you have forty five minutes to an hour to kill this is the pizza parlor for you. The pizza is OK chicken wings are good. They have a A full adult beverage bar. There's plenty of things for the kids To play. All kinds of games so it's fun for the kids as well. Lots of room to set.
google avatar

Reginald G.

Yelp
A pizza place with great fried chicken? Yes! Their fried chicken is flavorful and juicy, and the rojos have a seasoned, crispy exterior with a fluffy potato inside. Pair all of this with a boulevard combo pizza and some motz sticks and you have a tasty night for the family!
google avatar

Shannon S.

Yelp
We love Boulevard Pizza! The Rojos and Chicken are definitely a favorite! Pizza is good with a thin crust...nice and crunchy. I have many fond memories of going to Shakeys....very happy that Boulevard has carried on the tradition!!

David B.

Yelp
My friend took me to this pizza parlor and the food and service were just great! Really love the homemade Rojo potatoes yummy.
google avatar

Sacha B.

Yelp
Service amazing! The space is large - perfect for large groups. And the pizza was delicious. I also had the rojas. I had never had them before and was pleasantly surprised. They're thicker than regular fries or wedges so if you're a potato lover, you'll love these!
google avatar

Janet M.

Yelp
Amazing! This place was scrumptious! The pizza took a bit to be ready but worth the wait! We ordered the combo and I can't stress enough how perfect it was! The veggies were not over cooked. The dough was nice and thin and crispy! I personally prefer a thin dough. So, this was perfect! Then we had the jalapeño bottle caps! Really enjoyed those too! Environment was nice. We got to watch the games because they were playing different games on different screens! I truly recommend this place! The food was reasonably priced! I will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Yelp
We haven't been here in awhile, we planned to pick up our food and eat at home but plans changed. Highly recommend placing an order before you go. They have limited cooking space so you usually wait at least 45 minutes for your food. We ordered the basil pesto medley pizza, which is chicken, bell pepper, tomato, and pesto sauce and wings half bbq half medium sauce. I really like the medium sauce it's the perfect amount of spice I even liked the bbq sauce. I tend to not like bbq sauce because it's so sweet, but this sauce is smoky. Happy hour included $9 pitchers of beer We will return, they are remodeling so I'm curious to see the changes they make. Family friendly with arcade games, air hockey, and a few TVs with sports on.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
Good pizza, but. . . Came in on a Sunday for a large 3-topper for dinner. Server said it would be 35 minutes (house was, rather, full). Went to the counter after 35 minutes, and the server said the receipt didn't print in the kitchen (they never received the order, huh?). So, after waiting another 20 minutes. . . NOTE: They made a mistake on a couple of previous visits, replacing anchovies with artichokes. I was informed "the buttons are next to each other" (I guess because they both begin with an "A"). I mean, c'mon, I know accidents happen, but, REALLY!?
google avatar

Mikey R.

Yelp
I've passed by this restaurant a lot and this was the first time I've tried it. Not sure why this place has such high reviews on Yelp. The appearance of the building is a classic Pizza dinner. There was plenty of room to sit, but not all the empty tables were cleaned off. The service was pretty slow with orders taking 50+ minutes. I happened to use the Men's room while I was here and the urinal stalls were abnormally high and the bathroom wasn't very clean either. I ordered Garlic Cheese Bread, Fried Chicken and Rojo Potatoes, and a Basil Pesto Pizza in order to try a fair assortment of their menu offerings. I was sad to see their only dessert option is what looked like homemade brownies. The Garlic Cheese Bread was the best part of my entire meal. The price was only $4.95. The breads texture was nice and soft. The only thing I didn't really enjoy about the bread was the use of garlic powder; made it feel like something I could easily make at home. Next up, the Fried Chicken and Rojo Potatoes. The potatoes left me wishing I opted to try some of their ranch dressing because they weren't great by themselves. The Fried Chicken was a bit overcooked and on the dry side. Decent fried chicken leftovers taste good cold later; these did not. Finally, let's talk about this disappointment of a pizza. I tried the Basil Pesto Pizza and expected light toppings and more of a basil Pesto taste. This pizza had an overwhelming amount of peppers and onions (my least favorite part) to the point where it overpowered the pizza as a whole; I managed to try 1.5 slices before throwing the whole thing in the garbage. The highlights of this restaurant were the garlic cheese bread and the friendly staff. My pizza and fried chicken definitely weren't worth it. I have no reason to return.
google avatar

Jason N.

Yelp
These guys are rock stars make pizza the classic shakers style. Chicken wings legit. Rojo potatoes yes please. The only thing I'm still bitter about... where's the salad bar people. Nostalgia vacuum created. Only a 4 because we need the salad bar BACK
google avatar

Vic C.

Yelp
Oh man, let me tell you about this small town pizza parlor in Sparks. It's cozy, with a nostalgic vibe and friendly staff. You'll feel right at home. The staff tries to keep the dinning room and bathrooms spotless so you can enjoy your pizza without any worries. As for the food. The wings are perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and come in a variety of mouthwatering flavors. The pizza has a perfect crispy and the toppings are fresh and flavorful and the cheese is so melty and delicious. I would recommend this parlor for your pizza and wings needs. But i guess the only flaw if you even wanna call it that is the price. Hence the four stars. But that just comes with the territory being a local homegrown restaurant. Thank you.
google avatar

Sydnye H.

Yelp
I love an old school pizza joint! They just bring back good memories. This one is especially special because my dad used to work at Shakey's around the time I was born. I love that they have stuck pretty close to that menu! The pizza was decent for the price. I've had better and I've also had worse. The sub sandwiches are pretty impressive. They're huge and only $7.50! They also have award winning wings! We tried the Thai flavor and the Lemmon pepper. They were expertly fried with the perfect amount of crisp. They have lots of options! Will definitely be going back. I see this becoming our go to family pizza spot.
google avatar

Micheal F.

Yelp
Sandwiches are AMAZING the ham, cheddar, and Jalapeño sandwich is an absolute must! The crew at Boulevard is always friendly and the food is always fresh and delicious! The only reason I didn't go FULL five stars is I am not a big fan of the wing hot sauce...the wings are good sized and perfectly cooked though!

Tim C.

Yelp
Boulevard Pizza is great. I don't think it's well known, but everyone can get the pizza for "take and bake". Wish they'd advertise this because it's WAY BETTER than the other obvious option.
google avatar

Kimberly N.

Yelp
Boulevard Pizza has become a regular place for us. We like their pizza, daily specials, Happy Hour and the laid-back ambiance. We went last night for their Monday special: a large 1-topping pizza for $11.99! We also ordered sides of Rojo Potatoes and Chicken Wings. And since we arrived during Happy Hour (4pm-6pm), we also had a pitcher of Icky IPA for $9. We had all of this while sitting in the newly remodeled bar area where we were able to catch some college hoops playing on both of their TVs. This was a dream date for my hubby. He is already talking about going back.
google avatar

Lai Z.

Yelp
Food was so good! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only thing i noticed is that food took extra long time to cook. It took about almost 40 minutes in total. It was all worth it, though, but just something to think about when you plan your visit.
google avatar

Peggy S.

Yelp
Delicious crunchy thin crust Combo Pizza with onions and peppers. So fabulous. Unfortunately we tried the Bottle Caps - perfectly deep fried jalapeños with Ranch Dipping Sauce - "unfortunate" because we now are going to have to order them, always! Delicious!! We sat in the bar (really great Happy Hour prices, BTW) and both Kathy and Izzy were great. We are so lucky to have such exceptional pizza so close to home.
google avatar

Aleigh B.

Yelp
We came into Boulevard Pizza at 8pm with some friends that came into town and they weren't busy. About 6 people besides our party so it was pretty quiet inside. I did like that the tables were large and there was a separate section with the bar. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and it was pretty good. The service was pretty quick. They gave us a whole cup of ranch which was very appreciated! The crust of the pizza was crunchy in a good way! I feel like it could have used more cheese though. They have more things on the menu besides pizza but I didn't see salad was one of them which was a bummer. Overall, the pizza was good and I'd eat here again!
google avatar

Stacey H.

Yelp
This is the best pizza in all of Washoe County. If you think you like Pizza Plus, please try Boulevard Pizza and then join me in never ever wanting to eat Pizza Plus ever again. Not only do they charge the same, maybe less, but their pizza and wings are exponentially better in taste. I once ordered a salad from Pizza Plus because their pizza is gross, and they managed to even screw that up. If you live in Sparks, go with Chuck's.

Kathleen K.

Yelp
This is my go to pizza. Ordered a large, half Hawaiian and half combo. Did "take and bake" and saw they were now offering side salads for $5.00. I got two salads and didn't pay attention to them until I got home. I'm not sure these salads qualify as a side, more an after thought and not worth the $10. price. The containers barely contained salad and I was given expired blue cheese dressing. Come on, guys, you're the best in town. Please don't compromise your quality. I will say, my pizza was pretty close to what we expect, so, we will be back but reconsider your salad offering.

Yelp
LOS Angeles If you' are from Los Angeles, you know what Shakeys is all about has it all just like Shakeys in California,, Good hospitality food was awesome.

Yelp
Great pizza. Get the potato's and chicken combo. Beer is good. On draft. Arcade for kids and sports ok tv for adults. Good food and beer. Nice staff. Would highly recommend

Yelp
I'm a big pizza fan and happened to be visiting Reno on my birthday, so I needed something that was guaranteed to be tasty. While I 100% sold on Boulevard Pizza after doing my research, it sounded like a local favorite and worth a shot. Based on other reviews, I expected the wait to be a little long and was happy to find that it was pretty regular. They were packed and we found the only available table, but the pizza only took about twenty minutes to come out. My only complaint is that our table was pretty dirty and when I asked for the cashier for a way to clean it, he handed me a wet rag. I'm not grossed out and was fine cleaning it myself, but I think 5-star service would be to have an employee come clean the table for us. That being my only complaint, I loved the family vibes of the restaurant and it was fun to watch kids run around with little toys for the arcade and machines. The pizza was bomb. 100% exceeded expectations and I wish it was local to my area so that I could go more often. We went with standard pepperoni on half, veggie combo on the other side. Normally, I found that stacking veggies tends to make the crust underneath pretty soggy and I was especially worried that would be the case with a half/half pizza. They completely avoided that issue and the slices were perfectly rigid without being to tough to chew. I'd give a 5 star review for just the pizza and mozz sticks but the dirty table kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I'd still absolutely recommend Boulevard Pizza to anyone looking for some quality pie.

Yelp
First I have to say the food was great but the service is where they failed. I placed an online order and was given a 30-40 min pickup window. It was lunchtime on a Friday. When I arrived I could only see one person in the kitchen and no one at the counter. I stood there for about 5 mins before someone (which appeared to be the that one person in the kitchen) came over to help me. Hint to service business acknowledged the customer and let them know you will be with them soon. I told him I had an online order but he couldn't find it. It wasn't until I showed him the order on my phone that he was able to find it. Which to me is a sign that he hadn't seen my order and hasn't started it, but he told me it would be out in about three minutes. 20 minute later he brings out my order and says he doesn't know what's going on in the kitchen but "they" overcooked your pizza. He showed me the pizza and I told him I want a new one made. He said it would take about 8 mins. 10 minute later we got our order and left. Total time to pickup an online order - 30 mins. Also by the time we left there were 4 people in the kitchen. Also I forgot to mention when we came in there was another person in the kitchen but she picked up her purse and left. She saw us but I guess she had other things to do - maybe the owner or related to them? There are so many things wrong with this customer service experience, but I have a few suggestions for this business. Don't offer something if you can provide the service. Re: online ordering. Just have the option for people to call. Second, ALWAYS acknowledge the customer when they enter! Third after you mess up, be honest, the customer will decided the next step. Lying only pisses the customer of further - and leads to reviews like this and potential loss of business. Will I go back? I don't know. But I do know that before I do, I will be trying other pizza joints to see if they can do better. Right now I don't plan on patronizing this business again.

Yelp
One of my favorite pizza spots in Sparks! The perfect crust and love their weekly daily specials . We usually get the Monday 1 topping large special with a side of rojos. Can't forget the perfect try seasoned and cooked rojos! And their ranch is so dang good! The service is always upbeat and friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Basil Pesto Medley Pizza, not often I get Gluten Free designer pizza. Can't wait to come back for more.
google avatar

Vince C.

Yelp
I am a little disappointed. I placed an order for a medium Veggie pizza to pick up. When I got home I realized it is not the same as what is on the menu. There was no sliced tomatoes on my pizza. Oops, sorry guys. Nobody likes a surprise pizza.

Shannon M.

Yelp
Food is always consistently amazing, best wings in town, and amazing bar tender Jill!! May be our new go to local bar hangout! Service was quick and price seems to remain mostly consistent!!

Yelp
Best Pizza in Reno/Sparks, crust is thin and crisp, toppings are fresh. Never disappoints. Staff is friendly. Our go to place for pizza night. Wings are good and Rojo fried potatoes are delicious and an extra we really don't need, but I love them.
