The 17 Best Restaurants In Napa - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"If you’ve had it with tasting menus and hoity-toity wine talk, head to Bounty Hunter for wine, whiskey, and mounds of flaming hot meat. If you want to start with a vegetable, order the kettle chips smothered in blue cheese sauce before moving on to the combo platter with ribs, brisket, and pork, which, in true Texas form, is big in taste and portion size. You’ll see a lot of beer can chicken, served as a full bird on top of a can, and for good reason. There’s usually a wait, but you can use that time to pour over the massive wine and whiskey list." - Christina Julian

11 Essential North Bay Barbecue Spots | Eater SF

"The white napkin/bordello vibe of this thriving wine bar/genteel barbecue spot finds its graceful balance in the sight of a well-dressed man sucking rib bones while seated on a saddle that has been affixed to a wine barrel as people have vigorously vied to do since the day the Bounty Hunter opened well over a decade ago. Find a spot at the bar and relax. You’ve found your center." - Gretchen Giles

The picture doesn’t do it justice - the half chicken was huge! The skin so crispy and the meat so tender. Bread & butter pickles are just as advertised - the best pickles I’ve ever had. The corn bread is the BEST corn bread ever - too good to even get a picture. The slider trio was wonderful and the meat just melts in your mouth. The restaurant is super nice and even the ceiling tiles have engraved patterns. The staff is just wonderful.

Here's your review, formatted for clarity while keeping your original tone: A Mixed Bag of Bites and Brews The staff here are excellent! They provided great service and were super accommodating for our group. The vibe is fun and friendly, making it a spot I'd highly recommend for a quick bite or drink. Now, let's talk food: The Prime Rib French Dip was just okay. I enjoyed the meat itself, but the "horseradish sauce" was a real letdown – it had absolutely no horseradish flavor. The au jus could've used a flavor boost, though the onions and cheese on the sandwich were great. On a brighter note, the Market Salad was great! Unfortunately, the mac and cheese was a big disappointment. It was grainy, almost as if it broke or wasn't mixed properly. Also, a heads-up: the cornbread has jalapeño in it, which isn't mentioned on the menu. It was still good, but worth knowing. The sliders were decent, except for the chicken. We were expecting something like "beer can chicken," but it was more akin to a chicken salad. A friend raved that the coleslaw was excellent, and the stacked nachos were good. Just be warned, once you get past the top layer, it's mostly chips, so make sure to save some toppings for the bottom.

From the moment we walked in, everything about our lunch experience was exceptional. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the staff made us feel right at home with their attentive and friendly service. The FOOD was OMGEEE!!! So delicious, and perfectly cooked. My son lives in Nashville, TN and BBQ is not easy to cook and season to perfection... Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fantastic meal!

We came in for BBQ on a weeknight and they were packed. We made reservations, but the reservation system seems to be disjointed from the way they seat guests, as they have a few large, community style tables and when we got there they asked if we wanted to sit at one of those with others. Fortunately there was a hi-top for two available which we took instead. After we sat, we waited a while for someone to greet us… like I said, they were busy and they only had two servers. The ladies serving were friendly, which was nice. We ordered their tri-tip sandwich and their beef dip sandwich. The tri-tip meat was very dry and flaky and not very appetizing to eat. The french dip sandwich had better meat on it, but the sandwich was dry and I didn’t detect much horseradish sauce on it. Their side of beans were just ok, but too sweet and actually harder than al dente. Cole slaw needed lots of salt and still lacked that cole slaw flavor. Overall, wasn’t impressed, definitely wouldn’t return.

Things have changed since I was here over 40 years ago. I guess the earthquakes, fires and Covid have taken its toll on the old rustic charm. But what has popped up is a bustling village of eclectic wine and a foody collection of hang outs with plenty of atmosphere. The staff are very efficient in guiding you through the wide variety of libations.

So the food was good, a wonderful smokey flavor with tender fall off the bone meat. Our party of 6 had ribs, the brisket bowl, the Ruben, and the slider trio. Everyone felt the food was worth it except the Ruben. The drinks options were lacking, which was odd. They were out of Titos, out of crown, and didn't have any domestic or sours in rotation as advertised on their menu. Ordering was a challenge. During the meal, we had three servers, and therefore, we didn't get drink refills. If you have the time and the patience, the food is worth it.

Google
The menu looked great. We ordered drinks and appetizers right away to keep us happy while we contemplated our entree decisions. The appetizers came out before the drinks. Twenty minutes later, the host takes our entree order because the server never came back. We ordered soup and entrees. Entrees came out before the soup, and one order was wrong. The food runner promised to correct the situation, but the mistake order was not cleared from the table. I sat there for fifteen minutes while my companion ate her food, and I awkwardly started at the mistake entree sitting before me. Finally, the entree came out, but still was not what I ordered. I didn't say a word because I just wanted to eat at this point. The mistake entree was still on the table, so now I had five sandwiches sitting in front of me. Still, the soup had not come. The server finally checked on us and we mentioned the soup. He very apologetically got the the soup, but without spoons. About ten minutes later, he checked on us again and we asked for spoons. By the time they got to the table, the soup was cold. The server had the owner fix the check to make up for the trouble. We got the check, and all that was removed was the cost of the entree I originally ordered, but the charge for the mistake was still there. The mistake was four dollars more than the entree I wanted. I just wanted to leave, so I paid it and left.

Google
Good spot for some BBQ. The place smelled fantastic, the seating was well spaced, and the waitress was really nice. The food was of course good as well. I got the Pastrami Reuben (a recurring theme for me) and the wiatress assured me that they make their own Pastrami, and I think she was telling the truth. It was a good sandwich, tasty, peppery pastrami, some kraut and dressing. Just the way a Reuben should be. My friend got the French Dip and he liked it, though he said the Jus was a little watery. We finished off with the S'Mores Pie, and it was worth it, super good. Well toasted marshmallow topping and just a great dessert. Beer selection was decent as well, include some hyper-locals.

Yelp
Is there nothing that Bounty Humter doesn't do perfectly? I'd be skeptical of anyone who reviews this place at less than max stars. Vibe is chill but can get noisy. Can't hate on them for success. Service is so very friendly and good. Oh yeah, food... I've been coming here for years. They have a menu with zero mistakes. If you don't like your food, sorry but it's because you mis ordered. BH is one of my favorite restaurants in the world and I never miss in opportunity to eat here.

Yelp
Wineries are cool, but HAVE YOU TRIED NAPA'S BBQ?? I will admit, I laughed a little when I read they were "Napa's Best BBQ." I didn't know if that was a hard title to come by? But from service, to ambiance, to the appetizers/main course/dessert.. I literally ate my words. The beer can chicken was tempting, but we went for the BBQ platter instead. I love honey mustard and BH's sauce was so good that I asked for a few more to go. It really elevated the frozen chicken nuggets I had at home lol. I'm still thinking about the cornbread and I really wish I ordered more to bring home. Overall, great time and I hope to come back again soon. Think about stopping here before or after your show at Blue Note, it's in perfect walking distance!

Yelp
WOW FACTOR? BBQ sample of ribs, brisket and pulled pork between 2:30 and 5:00 was just the right size for dinner. HAVE AGAIN: Potato soup with spinach was delicious. Ribs were very good. Pulled pork good. House BBQ sauce was very good. NOT HAVE AGAIN: Brisket was a bit fatty.

Yelp
Our server was friendly and fast! Our food was great. My husband had the tri tip special with baked beans and corn bread. I could have made a meal out of his sides! I ordered the soda can stacker chicken sandwich. Very tasty, flavorful without being too salty or spicy. I had a delicious cocktail, the Spiced Hugo Spritz. We loved being able to walk right out to the Napa Lighted Art Festival on the river walk right outside the door. Would come back.

Yelp
Waaaay better than the Bounty Hunter in Walnut Creek! Smaller venue with a much smaller bar but the food was delicious!!! The BBQ was perfect The smoked prime rib sandwich was the best I've ever had. Super small 4-5 seat bar but the service was on point. It was crowded but we weren't rushed. One of my new go to's in Napa!!!

Yelp
After a day of wine tasting we came here to eat. Fortunately they were able to accommodate 8 of us last minute even though they were quite busy, but not particularly noisy. Our server was very on top of it, the food came out very close together so we didn't have to wait and she was very attentive. The orange and cream negroni sounded very unique so I had to try it, delicious! Somewhat of a dessert drink, tastes like an orange creamsicle and pretty boozy. Everything we had was good. The sandwiches come with just meet but the sauces on the table are a tasty way go jazz it up. I do wish you had more options for sides with the platter. I'm used to getting 2 sides with that much meat. The mac n cheese was a little oily for my preference. The s'mores pie was absolutely phenomenal!

Yelp
4 stars because I'm a BBQ snob from GA and the ribs were legit. Tender, fall off the bone and smokey dry rubbed. Service (Ally) was delightful. Considering the Napa pricing, everything else was just okay. We had: Wedge salad (the blue cheese dressing was the best part) Side of half sour pickles (they were definitely more that "half" sour, not as crispy as I'd have expected) Bowl of soup (creamy cauliflower was nice and warm but sadly not much flavor) St. Louis Rib Plate (this was hands down the best part of the meal.) Next time I'd like to try their beer can chicken because it looked and smelled amazing coming from the kitchen, but will probably skip the apps and soup.

Yelp
This warm and welcoming bbq joint has smokey flavor coming from the kitchen. The interior is a little small but it's mighty. They offer a great list of wines. The restaurant makes their famous beer can chicken in the back patio. The bbq meats are delicious. The rib meat fell off the bone. Yum! We loved the beer can chicken sandwich with chipotle bbq sauce. The service was good. We wish they had ranch dressing but their wedge salad with blue cheese was very good. Service

Yelp
Bounty hunter is a Napa local go to. Good quality food and barbecue in a sea of fine dining and Italian. This place has the best burger. Super simple, pickles, onion, quality meat, bun and really good house sauce. I always ask for extra sauce. Only complaint was the bacon on the burger was really dry, I think they smoke it.
google avatar

Jane B.

Yelp
This place has the best burger in Napa, and has an excellent bourbon selection. My only complaint is that seating feels chaotic..

Stacey Gabrielle C.

Yelp
Really enjoyed eating here w my husband. We ordered the bbq platter and a flight of wine. Everything was delicious, staff was very friendly and helpful. If I'm ever in Napa again, I would definitely come back to try the beer can chicken!
google avatar

Yelp
Went here for quick lunch and rest since we had a productive morning. The place a nice, comfy and charms for BQQ. It located right next to the river so spot on for location. The services can be better, he was not nice and/or into his work or simply not his day. But at least he did his job. We ordered a bbq sampler so we had 3 types of meat, wedge salad, a flight of wine and a cocktail - which all are fantastic. My kid loved the meat plate and ate majority of it. And he gave 5 stars for it. I would too but for the place, the prices I would expect the service can be better so I took .5 off but I couldn't do 1 it is

Yelp
Came here for a work dinner. We had a pretty good sized group and we arranged a private dining area, which was really nice. It was upstairs, totally removed/separated from the restaurant and because of this we felt like we were eating in someone's house! The service for our party was very attentive and the food was great! The meats were tasty and moist, we had four sauces to choose from, and I left very full! I got to taste a variety of the meats- brisket, pulled pork, pork ribs, and the beer can chicken. They were all very tasty but for me the pork ribs were the star! So tender and meaty! Looking at the regular menu it is a bit on the pricey side but quality BBQ for sure!
google avatar

Allison R.

Yelp
After day of wine tasting, you definitely need to eat. This is the place to come to fill your stomach with some great food. Don't worry they have plenty of wine to choose from if you need more wine. Highly recommend making a reservation since the place is not very big.
google avatar

Lisa L.

Yelp
The food was decent! A nice and casual atmosphere to stop by post wine tasting! Got a "dairyman" pinot noir with the smoked beef brisket sandwich and a side of Cesar salad. The workers were friendly to seat a larger party fairly quickly. Recommend to check it out!

Yelp
I chose Bounty Hunter to celebrate my engagement with friends because I was craving a steak and I hadn't been there since pre covid. Pre covid, it was OK. The new owner/chef/menu/staff were fantastic. They treated us very special. They started with sparkling wine for the table, and they ended with two complementary desserts. Everyone came out to check on us, including the chef. The food was very good and flavorful. I would definitely celebrate a special occasion here again.

Yelp
Quality/Quantity - One of my favorite restaurants in Napa! And we always bring our guests here. 400+ wines to choose from, 40 of which you can buy by the glass. There are also spirit and whiskey options, see pictures. We come here for the beer can chicken! See pictures. We can never finish this, we typically share with the tables around us. A great way to meet new friends, lol. We usually get a salad and cornbread to compliment our beer can chicken. And of course, we got flights of wine. Seasonal Market Salad - Nothing special, but my wife always has to have her greens. Beer Can Chicken - Just the correct amount of spice. Also, I love that crispy skin. As you cut into the chicken, you can see all the juice/beer flow out of it. I should have taken a video... Going to be a fun, tasty, and messy lunch. Cornbread - The perfect compliment to the chicken. Smoking BBQ Wine Flight - Another perfect compliment to our meal. A white and a red from Italy, and of course a local red. 3 different BBQ sauces on the table, but I rarely used it. Sweet mustard and vinaigrette bbq flavors sauces. Fridays are also prime rib day, but we just could not eat that much food. Atmosphere - Cool small location, my favorite of the two. Even the bathroom has cool decor. Indoor and outdoor seating. Bar, counter, table, booth, etc. seating. Very small parking lot, but plenty of street parking. Or free garage parking a few blocks away. Open 5 days a week from 11am to 8pm or 9pm, closed Mondays & Tuesdays. Service - Overall good. Events, see website. Price - $100 + tip. Good value for the experience, especially for our guests. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1994 and with both locations. We have been to your Walnut Creek location a few times, but this location is still my favorite.

Yelp
Lunch. Polite and helpful waiter. The BBQ meats are good, but nothing outstanding. The brisket was exceedingly dry, and when we told the waiter (because he asked how we liked the food) he simply said "everyone has their own taste preference." Ok they must hear that all the time. Coleslaw was good, nothing special. I thought the rancho beans were very tasty, but it was about a 3 oz portion for $9.00! I upgraded the stars though because the BBQ platter was enough food to feed two people.
google avatar

Nicole P.

Yelp
A few people have recommended this place so we decided to give it a try. We were greeted upon arrival and it definitely gives a bounty hunter vibe. Service was fast and the food was really good. The burger was cooked to perfection and the shrimp Louie salad was amazing! Both items were quite filling! I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

Yelp
Suuuuuch a fire spot in Napa if you're in the mood for some delicious hearty bbq food. My fiance and I happened upon this spot while walking around downtown. It was exactly what we were craving. We got seated near the bar at the high top tables. Our waitress was super chill and really quick. The food was so so so good. Felt like we were in a restaurant in Montana, not Napa, CA drinks were great too. I could've licked the plate clean! Would definitely return again. Highly recommend stopping in here

Yelp
Had wonderful service and food last night at bounty hunter. The whole vibe inside the restaurant was super fun. We did a starter of the smoked wings which were so good!! I ordered a black and tan and my spouse ordered the wine fight. I also really enjoyed the French dip and the Mac and cheese side. Will visit again on a Friday to try the smoked prime rib. You definitely need a reservation fyi.

Yelp
Know for their wine bar, Smokin' BBQ & Retail Shop is located in the Heart of Downtown Napa. They have an astounding lineup of over 400 highly-allocated wines on the shelves and 40 wines available by-the-glass, you can scan the 18-page wine list on any given day to find a snapshot of truly great wines from around the world. I've been here a few times and would suggest first timers to try their beer can chicken that is perched on a Tecate beer can, or their Smokin bbq platter that gives you a feast of pulled pork, smoked beef brisket & a half rack of St. Louis ribs plus choice of coleslaw or kettle chips. There's not that much seating in this restaurant but the few times I went, we did not have to wait.
google avatar

Clyde R.

Yelp
Atmosphere: It's a neat little spot in downtown Napa. It's a small place but has a good vibe. Service: Adequate/average. No complaints. Food: This might be passable for barbecue in Napa, but this wouldn't fly anywhere that is known for barbecue. The brisket was dry and anemic, as was the chicken. Nothing was particularly flavorful. I also have an issue with the fact they just toss a handful of cheap potato chips on the plate as your side. Overall, the food quality just isn't remotely good enough. If you're expecting fresh brisket that tastes like it just came off the smoker, you will not get it here. Frankly, it tastes either like it's been frozen and then sits under a heat lamp all day, or they get it prepackaged. I do not think this place will be a repeat for us.
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant. Never misses! The back patio is so pretty and they allow dogs. Highly recommend!

Yelp
They have an excellent wine selection, but a glass is expensive. Our group of 6 arrived for our reservation. They had our reservation but it slipped through their cracks and did not have a table for us. After a very short time, they whipped up a great table for us. Customer service was excellent. We ordered tri tip sandwich, and 2 bbq platters. I had a small Cesar salad which was very good. The mixed platter of bque was pulled pork, brisket and ribs. The ribs were excellent. The pork was moist but it just didn't have a lot of flavor. The brisket was mixed. Some was moist and just perfect and other pieces were dry and time consuming to chew. The flavors and smoke were very good and the sauces added a lot of flavor as well.
google avatar

Tanya B.

Yelp
This place is a must stop! It was so good I'm returning for the second day in a row. Their brisket sandwich is mouth watering. Atmosphere was nice and service was outstanding . Prices are decent as well .
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
Tasty pub style menu with a great wine and booze selection. The beer can chicken is their main event, and it is worth ordering. a little on the salty side, but their bbq sauces are very tasty and mask the saltiness. A very fitting establishment in the downtown area.
google avatar

Shelly A.

Yelp
First time here and there were 6 of us. We had a 4:00 reservation for early dinner. It was a cozy laid back atmosphere. The food was delicious and the meat wasn't buried in bbq sauce! At our table we split the platter with 2 couples. The sliders and the brisket sandwich got nice reviews as well! we had seconds of potato salad! The food came out pretty quickly and the customer service was exceptional! Highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Yelp
As a BBQ aficionado, it's all about the "meat" then the sauces. We ordered the BBQ Sampler Plate (perfect for 2 adults) which came with: - smoked dry rubbed ribs - evenly cut brisket - pile of pulled pork. - coleslaw FOOD: The RIBS were the best on the plate, although everything else was delicious. Cooked perfectly, fall off the bone, and tasty without the sauces. The BRISKET was juicy; all lean, no burnt ends. Had a slight smoke ring, & tenderness was spot on. The PULLED PORK was solid, moist & really "pulled"; nice portion. Flavor was mild. The COLD-SLAW was crisp, not over dressed; not a lot of flavor, but that could be intentional to be a texture element . Three sauces: - A Texas style sweet - spicy mustard (great w pulled pork) - North Carolina style sauce w some light vinegar. Dessert: had the S'mores Pie. It was ... meh. Venue: Small & quaint. Decent amount of seating (mostly 4tops & a few 2 tops). Not to loud when At capacity, which is great. Also a full bar/brewery w a nice selection of DRAFT beers. There's a chalkboard near bar w selection. PRICE: Very affordable not only for what you get, but for Downtown Napa. I was surprised. Supplemental: - 2 small parking lots on Main Street - highly recommend reservations. They do drop ins, but it's a rather small spot. - service was friendly, but just OK. Nothing exceptional. SUMMARY: - I'll be back when in Napa - Solid BBQ, especially ribs.

Yelp
Bounty Hunter is my go-to spot in the Valley for their prime rib french dip. My husband, on the other hand, had his tastebuds set on their prime rib dinner! Even before you walk in the door, you are already bathing in the delicious smoke of what you are about to enjoy. We arrived mid-afternoon on a Friday famished and pleasantly surprised that we just hit their peak time for happy hour! They were doing $7 pours of Four Roses, so of course I took advantage of that. Nothing else on the menu could sway me from ordering their fantastic french dip. The prime rib slices, slathered with their creamy horseradish and dipped into au jus - was exactly what I was here for. Sadly, hubs discovered that their prime rib dinner started at 5pm, so he settled for their brisket which he enjoyed more than the anticipated he would.

Yelp
Saw this place on TV. They were featuring the Beer Can Chicken. Had to check it out. Went there with my wife and we split the beer can chicken. It was really tender and juicy. Good flavor. Had 3 different BBQ sauces with it, but didn't really need it. Was surprised when we walked in that it's a little place. Knew I wanted the beer can chicken so honed in on that. We had cole slaw, potato salad, and half sour pickles for our sides. The other items on the menu looked good also. Will have to come back to check those other items out. We got there about 30 minutes after they opened. Wasn't crowded when we got there, but I can see how this little place can pack them in with all their food options. Servers we friendly and my soda glass was always full.
google avatar

Matthew L.

Yelp
Probably some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Definitely check them out if you are in the Napa area. I recommend getting the barbecue platter because you get to try all of their different barbecue options. The ribs were especially delicious and fell right off the bone ( as they should). Prices were reasonable and my wife and I got two meals out of a the bbq platter + Mac and cheese. We'll be back when we make another trip to Napa.

Yelp
Food is amazing! The flights of wine and whiskey were what really amazed us, we had the best service staff was kind and so very helpful!

Yelp
This place is exceptional in every way! The food is delicious, the service great and the dining area itself is so pleasant, comfortable and very clean. We will definitely go back!

Yelp
We shared the BBQ Platter and was very very good. So tender and still had some leftover to take home. I definitely would highly recommend as a go to place. There's a WALL filled w/ wine and a huge variety of alcohol to choose from. Service was excellent!

Yelp
What a fun place. Easy to find, right next to Wilfred's (but don't go to that tiki bar until the staff improves their people skills). If you're looking for tasty BBQ in a relaxed cozy place which also happens to be a wine and spirits shop, Bounty Hunter is your go-to in downtown Napa. We sat at the bar for a quick cocktail and the bartender made us some great specialty drinks (and also gave a free bday dessert, thank you!). We sat right next to the spot where the servers grab orders and let's just say we cancelled our dinner reservation. The BBQ plates looked amazing. We got the brisket sandwich and WOW. Intense taste and flavor in every greasy bite. The meat is wonderfully smoky, tender and juicy. Paired with a side of their tart and tangy bread and butter chips and baked beans makes for a heavenly meal. Caution: their 3 piece BBQ platter is large enough to feed 6 people. This place serves up generous portions. Wear your sweatpants in happiness!

Yelp
Came in to grab a bite to eat after shooting pool down the street. For the appetizer I had chicken wings which were so delicious! On to the main dish..the burger! The burger was cooked to perfection! The service was pretty good and the drinks were good also! I do want to go back & try something else on the menu. The ambiance was medium noise by kind of low key! If I could remember I believe they have a full bar! Definitely worth going back!

Yelp
We were in town for a conference and wanted to have a nice casual affordable dinner with some wine. This served all of our needs. The brisket sandwiches were moist with a little bit of spice. The Mac and cheese was very good as well. My friends and I had a great meal here and would recommend to others traveling to Napa.

Yelp
Walking in, you are greeted by big mounted animal heads on the wall and a plethora of wines and spirits. My friend and I got seated inside at what was called the "fun table"...let's just say the jury is still out on that one! Our waitress was cool and attentive, and so was most of the staff. I'm glad we didn't come as a group cause the place wasn't as roomy as I thought it would be but, overall comfortable enough. If you couldn't eat inside, there was an outside patio area you could eat at with a fire pit in the middle of the table. II had a pulled pork sandwicch and a side Caesar salad, then washed it down with a watermelon vodka spritzer that was so yummy. Next time I would like to try the Walnut Creek location to see what's poppin off. Ciao for now!

Yelp
We really enjoyed this restaurant. Isreal made our experience that much more enjoyable, food was great atmosphere was cool and will definitely return next time we visit Napa. Their chicken is the best I've ever had and I also enjoyed my barbecue bowl with brisket.

Yelp
First time visiting this Napa icon! Our family group of three ordered the olive plate, cheese dip, a small Caesar salad, French dip sandwich and the shrimp Louie salad. Service was friendly and fast. Olive plate was very generous with about 40-50 olives of several delectable varieties. It came with pistachios and candied pecans. The pimento cheese was more of a spread than a dip but super delicious, and came with a huge amount of crostini. Side salad was pretty standard. French dip roast beef sandwich was excellent, the meat was succulent and smoky. The shrimp were delicious and grilled. I never had this exact salad before, I wasn't expecting an entire half head of iceberg lettuce. If you like iceberg and thousand isles style dressing (Louie is similar) you'll love it. We didn't have any wine (shocking I know) but this place is legendary for its wine catalog. Ambience was cool in a restored 1800s building with stamped metal ceiling and exposed brick walls. There were a lot of animal heads mounted on the wall, taking the Hunter in the name a bit too literally. If you're not a hunter you might find it a bit creepy. Service was friendly.

Yelp
Upscale, saloon-like ambiance in Downtown Napa. Dark woods, plenty of glass (large pane windows and shelves of displayed wine and hard alcohol bottles), mounted game heads, high and low wood tables, a saddle chair, yep, you get the picture, you're in the MODERN Wild West. Cool vibe... Plenty of free parking, both street and public lots. Bounty Hunter is adjacent to the Napa River which has public paths for two-three blocks. We made reservations for a Saturday lunch in cold February, suggest reservations as this place gets busy and there aren't a lot of tables. Ordered: - Wine Flight (3 samples) - Sparkling Wine Flight (3 samples) - Beer on Tap All reasonably priced. - Iceberg Lettuce Wedge Salad (Cool and Crisp) - BBQ Sample Platter (Smoked Brisket, Half Rack of BB Ribs, Shredded Pork, enough for 3-4 people) - Chicken Burger with Fries and Beans (Pass on the chicken burger but really liked the beans) Popular place as the tables were constantly churning. Recommended!

Yelp
The food was yummy! Really really great portions which is appreciating. I really do think a few items on the menu can use some work, but that that's why you should try it out and find out for yourself! Except the cornbread- which is perfect by itself

Yelp
I can say that this place does do a good BBQ. Decided to go with the slider trio I wanted a taste of all meats. The pulled pork is amazing, truly a good one. Brisket definitely has a good taste as well, love it. The chicken was good as well but loved the others much more. On all I wish came with a BBQ sauce already on there. I know there is sauces on the side, I guess I wanted a little more of a messy sandwich but still good. Service is definitely nice, not to attentive but l check in when needed. The one thing I'm highly surprised about is the hunters old fashion. I saw the gentleman bartender making it and noticed no stirring but yet the taste on this cocktail wasn't bad. Compared to the last few old Fashions I have tasted recently it was actually good. Especially for a pre-made spirit they use. Bravo team!

Yelp
I loved the atmosphere and staff. The bbq is mediocre at best but that's what I expect from California bbq. Yes I've experienced more than California bbq. The pulled pork was decent. Ribs were very good. The brisket was awful. The wine list is decent as well. I had a good time and would recommend the place but this isn't good bbq. Just saying.

Yelp
I mean it's cool. The food is really good and the Mac and cheese is fire! It was my first time in Napa and we had to eat quick and the reviews were off the charts. I wish it has better views while sitting outside but even the waiter was like "It's not really special outside, just some chairs and small tables". But the weather was nice so we didn't mind. Again, GET THE MAC AND CHEESE!!!

Yelp
It's Friday date night and we made reservations ahead of time. Unfortunately even with a reservation, we had to wait for a table since the host would not sit us at a table for 4. It appears they can't get rid of the other patrons camping at restaurant. Food came out fast and service is good. We tried the pork ribs which is very good. The Brussel sprouts ok.
