If I lived in Farmington, this would be my go to place.
Luckily I checked Yelp before we arrived, so we put our name on the list and I got a text telling me the wait was between 60-90 minutes, so to arrive 60 minutes after putting my name on the list. We arrived at that time, and only had about a 10 minute wait after that (just enough time to order drinks from the bar).
Our server, Jenna, was great. She gave good recommendations, and frequently checked in to make sure we had everything we needed, without being too pushy or overbearing.
We started with the deviled eggs. They came out quickly and were gone in a flash - the bacon jam was a great added touch.
For entrees, we shared the 1/2 smoked chicken, Butcher's plate, and beet salad. I would definitely recommend the smoked chicken - it has a delicious dry rub and the meat was not dry at all. The Butcher's plate had some hits and some misses. The ribs and sausage were excellent, but the chicken that came with that was dry and the brisket was too fatty for my liking. For sides, the green beans were crispy, yet tender and well-seasoned and I enjoyed the mashed potatoes. The brussels sprouts were too sweet for my taste.
There were some issues with our meal - we asked for the salad dressing on the side, and it didn't come at all. Additionally, my chicken was supposed to come with a cornbread muffin, but that was missing. Luckily, Jenna came by shortly after our food arrived and took care of the missing items.
The only real miss of the night was the bread pudding. It tasted stale and dry, and was ultimately pretty flavorless. In the future, I would skip it.
Portions were large and prices were reasonable! I took half my chicken home and it heated up well the next day. Check Bourbon Butcher out if you are in the area.
