Came here for a Sunday brunch with the family. Not loud, very chill atmosphere. Booth at front of restaurant will sit 4 adults but the table is a bit small to cram everything in, I'd recommend a table instead if you want more space. The Perfect Bloody Mary is top notch (did mine with Gin) and it comes with a bottle of High Life as a chaser! Cheese curds are hand breaded and a top 15 in the Twin Cities (we try them everywhere we go, so that's a big deal)! Food was amazing! BRisket and Gravy was a fun twist on a classic...delicious! Breakfast burrito was a bit greasy but very tasty! Our daughter LOVED the French Toast as well :) 5 stars!! Ps- this restaurant opens up to the Brew Hall next door if you want other beers!

Google
Everything from the service to the food was excellent. We had a takeout order and everything tasted so good that we went back for seconds and thirds. There was even enough for people to take home! For what we paid, there were very generous portions! Thanks to Jennifer for helping me out on such short notice!

Matt is the most top notch staff member during our family event here. Even though it was later at night, we got a table outside and it was amazing from the seating till the food!! Food - very good wings + sauce, not a fan of the shrimp hush puppies, everything else was just filled with flavor. From the juicy steak to their twist on tacos. GIVE them a try, worth the money!

Google
I can’t believe this place only has a 4.2 rating. I would say it’s a 4.7 restaurant. First time. The brisket is a 5.0 all day. Best I’ve ever had. Blows away Famous Dave’s, which I love. Ribs were very meaty and tender. All sauces were top notch. Smoked chicken, Brussel sprouts, fried green beans - all a delight. Drinks are a little pricey, but that’s everywhere. Do the Pick Two if you go for the first time. I can’t wait to go back.

Google
I have never ate brussel sprouts that made me say "wow" before, but theirs did!! YUM! Atmosphere is wonderful, even the bathrooms are nice. Their fried chicken is excellence, as well. A super pleasant surprise if a restaurant/bar.

After having an early morning flight that was delayed and a tight connection this was our first stop. We were not disappointed! My daughter had the lobster mac’n-cheese and I had the halibut. My fish was perfectly cooked and the portion size was huge! I sampled my daughters lobster Mac and it was delicious. Great blend of cheeses and the lobster portion was generous for the price. It was also cooked to perfection. Anytime there is creamed corn on the menu I always order it. Well their version of southwest creamed corn was delectable with just the right amount of heat from the green chiles. We were so full we didn’t get desert unfortunately but based on the rest of the meal I am sure it would have been really good. We had fantastic service from our server… she was attentive, our drinks never went empty snd our food was delivered in a timely manner and hot! She did a fantastic job and was really friendly. If I was in the area again I would definitely go back. Extremely reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food especially coming from Dallas where it would have been $10 or $15 more per dish.

I called and talked to a manager regarding ordering food to be picked up for 20 people and look to them for a recommendation. When we picked this food up, we had enough food for 60 people this was outrageous and then on top of this they add 18% gratuity we picked up the food. No one waited on us. so now not only do we have way too much food about $600 worth we are getting charged 18% on top of that. I would never have food catered from this place again. The food itself was delicious, but the portions and their recommendations were insane, we ended up with 60 or more pounds of food for 20 people. This was extremely disappointing. We were fortunate to have extra to go containers available, otherwise would have had to throw away $700 worth of food that the 20 people couldn’t eat. Very very disappointed!

Google
Location is easy to get to. There was construction going on when we visited and it made it a little difficult. But without construction, super easy and convenient. When you pull in, you can smell them smoking (love that smell!). We were seated immediately and we both thought the menu was really cool (see the pic, it's a leather cover). We ordered the BBQ Brisket Burger with fries and the Smokehouse Sandwich with Smoked Gouda Mac n Cheese. The food was absolutely superb. We shared with each other to maximize (you like that?) thr experience. The meat in the Smokehouse Sandwich was a bit dry, but really perked up with some BBQ sauce. The Mac n Cheese was awesome highly recommend that if you visit. Now, we had a few issues. The first was the flies. No kidding, we were being swarmed by flies (FYI, we sat inside in the middle of July). It was insane, frustrating and honestly, gross. The second was once our food was delivered, we never saw our server again until he was ready to bring out the bill. Having said this, I was at a firm three stars. But after speaking with the manager, I'm good giving four stars. She was extremely open to feedback and very nice. So thanks to her for that extra star. I hope this helps. Cheers.

Yelp
Great Food, Great Service!! Service and the atmosphere very comforting ! This the first place wife took me too before we were married. Delicious meal!!

John K.

Yelp
I would say that this place is amazing. I ordered three appetizers and all three were delicious. I would say the best fried cheese curds I've had, a unique presentation and method for fried pickles with cheese (they made it look like egg rolls), however the smoked chicken wings were a bit dry and tough. I ordered the buffalo sauce which is usually bright orange to me but this was just a hot sauce. I was a bit disappointed about my wings, and the smokiness makes it that much harder to keep it moist. However they have pages and pages of whiskies, it's clean, the customer service was amazing so I ended up giving a big tip for the experience. I'm coming back to try more food, just a great experience and ambiance.

Haleem S.

Yelp
Food is not worth the price, famous Dave's is a better take out option. And they always forget something I will not be ordering from them again .

Justine L.

Yelp
Great friendly hostess and amazing staff. Great ambience and cool booths, lights, awesome vibe. Pretty empty when we went in at 5pm. The BBQ wasn't awesome - brisket was dry, but the fried chicken was great - done really well but small pieces. The cole slaw was good but definitely had a stronger apple vinegar feel. Unfortunately, the corn bread was only half baked (the bottom half wasn't cooked) and the onion rings were overbattered and soggy. Meh on the food but reat service.

Ken M.

Yelp
Been here two days in a row to get the same exact meal. The smoked wings are smoky and crispy. Smoked and then flash fried. Love the dry rub as it has a bit of a bite to it also. Great service and don't forget about the tequila old fashion!!! Yep worth it

Karla K.

Yelp
Service was bad. We had a crew of 4 and one plate came out right away and we had to wait 30 minutes for the rest of the food. NOT good service at all. Pizza wasn't even cooked all the way. We got oh I'm sorry. Won't go back again. Too pricey for gas station food.

Abbey W.

Yelp
Food was pretty good here! I had the ribs and they were great! Tender and fell off the bone! Also had a good selection of beers and other drinks to have with dinner! The space itself was a little loud, but on a Saturday what do you expect! Overall happy with my visit and look forward to returning!

Dwight E.

Yelp
Excellent BBQ, so so service , keep the doors closed, too many flies! Nice place will be back for the excellent BBQ

Kathleen K.

Yelp
Still missing the Duck Poutine - please bring it back. We stopped in for a late night snack. The restaurant was pretty empty and the service was excellent. We ordered the Duck Wontons and they were okay. Not much filling. We also had The Spicy Shrimp Hushpuppies. They weren't spicy at all and you couldn't taste the shrimp. Basically a corn hushpuppie. My husband liked them but he hates shrimp and spicy so it worked for him. I really want to like this place but they need to revamp the menu.

Cindy H.

Yelp
Food tasted good but there was very little meat to the sandwich. I am talking super skimpy. When you pay 20 dollars for a brisket sandwich and you get very little brisket. It's a no. Bread and jam and very little meat. It was very paltry. The old fashioned was good. The beer was good. We left with an 80 dollar bill that had two drinks and two of these sandwich that were mostly bread not to mention the 3 1/2 percent surcharge It's a no. Go have a drink and eat before you go.

Eric N.

Yelp
Food was mostly microwaved, dry, and disappointing. Two menu items we wanted were not available. Server was more interested in her husband and children who were there, rather than waiting on us. The cornbread was the only thing good about the entire experience. For the price we paid, we certainly will not go back.

Mae W.

Yelp
Yes, liked my visit here for a birthday. I liked this special treatment, also a courtesy "gift" if you're on the email list, like the music on the veranda, like dining outside. Thank you Bourbon Butcher team.

Jeremy S.

Yelp
Definitely had to update to four stars after my second visit. Food amazing, whiskey and cocktails amazing. This visit showed me why the prices are what they are......they know what they are doing here. We had the most delectable sandwich, The Texan. Along with our pre-dinner cocktails we had the most satisfying app, the Duck Wontons. We'll definitely enjoy ordering these next time. The Cocktails: The cocktails are amazing. I had the "Make it Grain". It was truly delicious, I loved it so much I had to buy the Black Lemon bitters for my home bar. Also what's special about this establishment is their love for whiskies. You can choose any whiskey (or whisky) from their two ounce pour list and they will make it into an old fashioned for the price of the pour. For two dollars more they will smoke the Cocktail for you too. My wife had a Eagle Rare old fashioned which she thoroughly enjoyed. Tip: Try one of their flights to expand your whiskey palate. We tried the Japanese whisky flight, it was worth it. Japan has some very nice whisky's!

Natalie C.

Yelp
We love this place!! Their food is always so good!! When we order meats, they are always so good!! Also a great place to take your dad.

Aneesa K.

Yelp
The BEST FOOD AND DRINK around! Professionally made cocktails are so yummy! We had their brunch last Saturday ( sorry I'm late). Super DELICIOUS as well as filling- we went all day without needing anything more to eat for the day Never had a bad ANYTHING here! What we had is on the menu I included- One of our FAVORITES Service OUTSTANDING.., constantly consistent if not BETTER each time we come here

Angelo A.

Yelp
Drove down from IGH to check this place out. Not worth the drive. Service was slow and yet the place was not too busy. Our party of four ordered and only 2 of us enjoyed our meals. My wife ordered an omelette with American cheese and they made it with cheddar, tried to remove the cheddar, and placed american cheese on top, but none inside.... where several remnants of cheddar were found. Another member of our party had so much hollandaise sauce on his food, it was unpalatable. One word summary - underwhelming. No need to return.

Julia A.

Yelp
Everything here is so good and that's why it's a bit expensive. The duck wontons were amazing. I once had the brisket club sandwich, it was sooo good. It's very big, had to bring home leftovers. I also love their Mac and Cheese, which doesn't sound fancy, but it has bacon, breadcrumbs, jalapeño and a three cheese sauce. It was amazing as well. During Covid me and my family ordered this big family meal to go and I got one and it had elk sausage in it. Never had elk sausage before that and it was so good too! If you've never been here before it's 100% worth checking out. I don't personally drink but they have a huge menu full of different drinks too.

Yelp
Had a reservation, but didn't need it for a Sunday night. Service was slow due to only one server on our side of the restaurant. Food took longer than expected (about 30 minutes for three people). Hubby and I both got salads, which was a TON of greens on a bread plate. I'm mentally exhausted from trying to figure out how to eat it. Every time I speared some greens, stuff fell off my plate onto the table. Even when I tried to cut it, stuff was still falling off the plate. Hubby got the brisket, which had not been rendered properly, so had quite a bit of fat on it. Makes one wonder if was really roasted for 14 hours... I got the ribeye, which was cooked properly and was pretty tasty. However, the cornbread on both my hubby's and my plate was undercooked. 9 yo son ordered a kid's cheeseburger and added bacon to it. It came out as a DOUBLE bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, onion, and the bun slathered with mayo. NOT what you would serve a child. Found out when the bill came that she had charged us for an adult bacon cheeseburger. When I pointed it out, she did adjust the bill. Overall, we weren't impressed.

Yelp
We met here for a family gathering. In all there were 12 of us. We ate on their patio but were required to split into two tables due to social distancing rules. Our tables were next to each other and we were on the end so it worked out fine. I started with a stout and we shared cheese curds and onion rings. All very good. For dinner I had the St Louis ribs and I was able to choose 2 sides. I chose brussel sprouts and green beans. The veggies were phenomenal. The sprouts had a tangy zest with bacon and they were delicious. The beans were crispy and fresh. I was grateful to be allowed to choose both sides and not have to settle for potatoes. My ribs, unfortunately, were not very good. I've eaten here before and had good meals so I'm hoping this was just a mishap. The meat was so tough it was difficult to cut away from the bone with a knife. The ribs were dry. They just weren't very good. Again, I've eaten here many times and always had a good dinner. As we were sitting outside, we felt safe. Tables were socially distanced. Service was excellent. It was a lovely summer night to eat outside.

RJ C.

Yelp
Been going to the Bourbon Butcher since it opened, the last 2 years the food quality has gone downhill, the portion size and taste is just not there anymore. Ordered a pulled pork sandwich which was mostly Texas toast and very little pork. Friend ordered Butchers Melt, supposed to have Swiss and Cheddar cheese, garlic Mayo and sautéed onions, no Swiss cheese, no garlic Mayo and the onions were raw.

CJ B.

Yelp
Went for brunch and it was super disappointing. The bacon pancakes are crumbly and not very tasteful. Served with honey butter -- really it's little Farm Meadow sweet cream butter squares, not made in house. The cheesy potatoes are barely done and served with melted shredded Colby jack cheese on top.

Sean C.

Yelp
Alright, this place is a quality establishment. They have a fun, energetic atmosphere,Talented bartenders and their duck wontons are absolutely amazing. One complaint.I ordered the Jambalaya for dinner after we had been seated. Upon ordering, the waiter, who was wonderful, asked me...."would you like to add shrimp for $X more?" What? Jambalaya SHOULD come with shrimp. It's not an add on, it's an essential and traditional component. It can be an omission if say, someone were allergic to shellfish, but it should always include shrimp. Google "Jambalaya"....then hit images. Come on, Man!!!

Gracie W.

Yelp
The bourbon butcher has GREAT chipotle mayo. I even overheard the table next to us ask for some to go. The onion rings are fresh, hot and You don't feel sick after them after you might for others. I got the smoked salmon salad with no onions and the dill/lemon vinegarette was delicious. If you don't like vinegarette dressings, this one barely feels like one and instead just feels fresh and like summer. The black bean burger was a bit dry (normal for bbbs) but ask for some chipotle Mayo and put it on top and you'll be a happy clam Restrooms don't have a purse hook in the women's restrooms but they smell and look clean as a whistle. Good shady spots if you burn, and good sunny spots to sit if you'd like to tan while you eat your meal. They also have heating stands and fire tables outside if it's cold in the evening. Great spot. 10/10 would reccomend. Best salad I've had in a while. AND when I had a to-go box for my salad, she threw in a couple extra dressings for me just in case which I really appreciated.

Alexa A.

Yelp
5/5 I could see how it couldn't be for everyone. I got the beef brisket for $20. Unless you like a ribeye with the fat and a smokey flavor, this might not be for you. For me, the fat melted in my mouth and paired well with the meat itself. With that, it might've been the best brisket I've had. Just don't microwave!!!!!!! Also I'm an extremely picky eater and put meat quality over everything. Next is taste. Both were a 5/5 in my book.

Kacee T.

Yelp
I finally order some take outs from here and my family and I love the food here. I think they have the best corn bread ever! Had to stop by again the next day and order 8 of the corn bread, lol. Definitely will keep coming here!

Sheila G.

Yelp
Everything on the menu has smoked meat with high salt, but the worst part is they smoke the meat so strong that you can't taste any meat flavor at all, just tastes smoky! They do not have any entree or sandwich without smoked meat! They are pricey for what you get as well. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend!

Michelle O.

Yelp
Tried the Bourbon Butcher to celebrate my husband's birthday tonight and it was a very nice experience. It's a decent sized place with attractive decor in warm woods and leather, and a covered patio as well which would be great on those days you wished you'd played hooky from work (or did for that matter). We sat in a booth near the bar area inside as it was a bit humid and warm out, and my husband had a House Old Fashioned (very smooth), and I tried the Cherrywine Bourbon slushie (strong, fruity and nice and cold!). I love a good alcohol-laiden slush :). We started with the Cheese curds which apparently every table had ordered and I can see why. It was a nice sized portion, greasy but cheesy and crunchy with a berry type of sauce. I wasn't sure about that sauce but it complimented the cheese curds well, and the server offered other options if you wanted something different. We ordered our entrees which literally came out about two minutes after our appetizer. This meant one got cold while the other got devoured as quickly as possible. That was my biggest (and really only) complaint was that servers seem to struggle with timing and they don't give you time to enjoy one thing before they are bringing out the next one. That's not just here, and we generally wait to order until we are almost done with our app, but we forgot this time :( This time it was really bad though as we hadn't even eaten one curd before the entrees came out. That was disappointing. However, we move on... The entrees we ordered were the Pulled Pork sandwich, and the Roasted Half Chicken. Both were very good. The Slow Roasted Chicken was phenomenal though! It just literally fell apart and off the bone. Excellent! I got the mashed potatoes (very dry but home made), and the Bourbon Bacon Brussel Sprouts (very good!). The chicken also came with a piece of corn bread which was a nice addition. The Pulled Pork sandwich was big, and according to my husband it was quite tasty. The fries that came with it were a handcut type and very good as well. We did have the Salted Caramel Cheesecake for dessert which was free since it was my husband's birthday, and that was a nice and appreciated gesture!! Overall it was a very good experience other than the timing on the entree issue, but the service otherwise was friendly and attentive and she was fun to chat with as well :) This is the same company as Volstead's in Eagan (a favorite), and Whiskey Inferno (see other review -- also excellent), so we joined their Whiskey Passport club thing to find out about events, and get free stuff by drinking whiskey....right up our alley ;)

Yelp
According to the green road sign on Highway 3 South, this Kitchen+Bar is actually JUST North of the city limits? I can no longer find the Bourbon Butcher "Yelp" review by local former swim team captain and school board member Jake Cordes, but he liked it, too. Shared Brussels sprouts, sweet potato fries, and Guns-a-Blazin IPA from Tanzenwald (Northfield microbrew) with Steve and some local moms as pictured. Food arrived within 15 or 20 minutes -- sweet potato fries must be made to order, so fresh. Not the best fries I've ever had but definitely passable. Our server, named Gunner, was supportive and made everyone feel welcome. Brussels sprouts were tasty, shipping with plenty of bacon BBQ sauce that could maybe have used some broad or something to counterbalance. "Killed two birds with one stone" was overheard. Friendly locals talked to us. "This review is looking pretty epic! Nice!" yelp said, automatically, like the closed door of the nearby Public Library complete with surveillance cameras to be extra welcoming to all.

Dave K.

Yelp
We sat on the patio. The flowers were dead. My drink was very watered down. The next one was Ok. The inexperienced waiter did not comp my drink. I ordered fries which were cold. I ordered a replacement and it took a full 10' to arrive. Not sure we will come back here.

Jenny L.

Yelp
First time trying this place, and it was surprisingly good. We went on a Friday night, and expected it to be busy. Luckily, we were able to put ourselves on the waitlist through yelp, prior to going there. Once we arrived, we only had to wait about five minutes. We were seated on the patio. I was pretty nervous walking towards my seat because it was a cold night. But luckily they have a bunch of space heaters, and it was actually warmer than inside the dining area. So thumbs up! Started off with cocktails. The drinks were good, despite the price. It was a bit pricey for the location, in my opinion. But anyways, they have a full bar. It's fun to look at actually. Tons of sodas as well...I saw like five different root beer choices on the menu. Food wise, it was great. They have a wide variety on their menu, from bbq to burgers. We ended up getting the duck wontons to start. Holy balls were these amazing...creamy goodness. They tasted like the ones you can find at the state fair. If not, better. Only downside is you only get 3 wontons for $10. Eek!! We ordered the brisket club sandwich, and Wisconsin cheese curds burger. Both were greasy and delicious. Huge portion! Can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu. Farmington is out there, but I'd say this place is worth it.

Angie O.

Yelp
There was a pig roast happening the weekend we went here. Smelled great! They have a bunch of house made sauces fun to sample. I had the club sandwich and fries, real good, brought 1/2 of it home lots of food. Hubbie had a burger he really liked it he also ordered onion rings. Love the interior, service was good, love the butcher aprons. There is an arcade attached, didnt check it out to many birthday parties happening.

Nelly P.

Yelp
Horrible service! Unfortunate, since the food was amazing.... However, I saw a google review about this establishment being racist. Wish I had seen this prior to dining here. Called to ask for the managers name and I was hung up on multiple times. Worst expereince I've ever had.

Kathy M.

Yelp
This place USED to be awesome with high quality food but the last two times have been unacceptable first our Chicken Caesar Salad that we ordered for pick up had no chicken we let that one go as mistakes happen but most recently we ordered a salad and paid extra to add chicken the chicken that was thankfully packaged separately was spoiled the smell was vile. This time I called to complain was told a manager would get back to me which did not happen and my emails have gone unanswered. I can no longer recommend this place.

Garrett Z.

Yelp
We have heard from so many of our friends that we have to try the Bourbon Butcher that we finally hashed out some time to go and try it out. We were not disappointed. This place is so classy and hip, it surprises me that it is found in small town Farmington. They have a great patio and dining area with a huge bar full of Bourbon (makes sense) and retro arcade, and outside lawn games to play while you wait for your food or enjoying your cocktail drink. Did I say that we loved the wall full of soda bottles? So cool. So this place is known for their BBQ so we decided to get the full feast to experience all of their meaty goodness. Here is the breakdown. The Brisket: First off, let's start off with the brisket. This is sliced thick, more than an inch across and it is meaty and delicious. The Ribs: Tender and falls right off the bone. Great smoky taste The Chicken: Super super moist and full of flavor, huge piece of chicken The Mac and Cheese: Can't tell you, my daughter inhaled it before I could try it. Looked good. The Cornbread: My father exclaimed that this was some of the best cornbread he has had in a long time. It was moist and full of sweet corn flavor. Brussels Sprouts: Hey, they made Brussels sprouts edible! Put booze on them! Fries: Home cut fries, pretty good. The Suaces: All the sauces were tasty, my favorite was of course the Bourbon BBQ Sauce. The Feast was amazing and easily fed 3 people. We also tried some of the appetizers and they were in their own right amazing. The Onion Rings were spot on and HUGE and the cheese curds were very tasty as well. So whether you just stop for a drink, an app, or a full meal this place will satisfy your craving. I think this place will be our new BBQ hot spot for some time now.

Carla K.

Yelp
Great service. Chicken wrap was good. Hamburgers were nothing special even a little dry. Great atmosphere.

Jane D.

Yelp
We waited over 40 minutes for our food and the restaurant was not at all busy. Additionally, when our food came out, they didn't bring silverware so we had to sit there for another five minutes until we were checked on and at that point get silverware also my daughters food had to be made twice because the first time they put peppers in the meal when we asked them not to and upon further investigation on the second try, there's still were peppers found . similarly my son asked for no barbecue sauce on his hamburger and it came on it. Additionally, I had ordered an omelette that did not have this the correct cheese on there, nor was it even melted. It was disgusting and inedible.

Jessica T.

Yelp
Alright. You ready for this one? First off - I loved this restaurant. First timer tonight. They do not take reservations. So either use the yelp app to place a "call ahead" 15-30 minutes before arriving or call them. (We went before covid in February, I'm writing this review late) We were quickly seated outside on the patio that was under a tent with heaters around a fire table. At first I wasn't sure how I would like that, but it ended up being relaxing and so fun to be at the fire table. My husband and I ordered some fun cocktails - he got a whiskey drink that came in a smoke box. Was fun to experience and tasted great! The food is AMAZING! Great portions - like, I should have split the brisket plate with my hubs. Tons of leftovers. The only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars was the Crab Mac & Cheese - I was so pumped to try this but they use imitation crab and the texture and flavor is horrible. Pretty disappointing. Otherwise this place is great! Always busy - super fun vibe. We will be back!

Cathy J.

Yelp
My husband and I went to Bourbon Butcher to try something new. He ordered the Duck Won Tons and shared with me (there are 3 large won tons per order) and they were quite tasty. We both had the 1/2 rack St. Louis ribs which were smokey but a tad dry. It comes with two sides: I chose the Street corn Cole Slaw which wasn't what I expected. It was slaw with some corn in it and a southwestern flavored dressing. I also had the onion rings which were as expected...onion rings. My husband had the side salad and garlic mashed potatoes. He enjoyed both. The ribs also are served with cornbread which was quite tasty and a nice complement to the meal. As the name would suggest, they have an extensive selection of bourbons and whiskeys and some interesting cocktails (not in a Minnesota way but truly interesting and yummy). Our server, Suzette was terrific. She learned it was my birthday and I was simply too full to eat anymore and she happily boxed the cheesecake for me to take home. I would consider this restaurant to be a great neighborhood spot. They have a great patio and is definitely kid friendly. It wasn't terribly busy for a Tuesday evening yet it took a long time to get our drinks. The server commented that he was new and there was only one for the entire restaurant. I'm thinking they may want to consider hiring at least a second bartender for the evening crowd. I seriously can't say enough about Suzette. She was simply awesome and added some fun to our evening. Thank you.

Bret E.

Yelp
Sometimes it's just an off night. Came in and were seated at a high top in the bar, our request. The place was maybe 30%. Ordered drinks and when they were delivered we should have ordered. 30 minutes later our food was requested. Something was off, we like the place and not once in the next hour we're we asked if we're ok. 1 hour forty minutes. When signing the better half was amazed I tipped regularly. Service let down.

Philip C.

Yelp
I have nothing to complain about, it was an awesome experience ax throwing and the food was amazing. I particularly like the half roasted chicken

Robyn H.

Yelp
Saturday night dinner. There were five of us and only 2 said their food was ok. For starters, it took forever to see a server. When she finally arrived and introduced herself, she stated that she didn't really work there and was just filling in and probably wouldn't be able to answer any questions if we had any. My daughter and I both ordered salads and added chicken. Both salads were swimming in water and the chicken looked like cat food. My daughter showed hers to the food runner and he said the water must have come from the chicken. WHAT? He brought her another one, this time with hot mush on top! Why on earth would a BBQ place use what appeared to be canned chicken? Neither one of us ate our gross, disgusting salads. We told our server about them but she wasn't really a server so she couldn't do anything. I will never eat here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
I saw their Facebook posting for beers and wings on Monday, which looked good, and so we stopped by for beers and wings today (Tuesday). It wasn't overly busy, many open tables. I ordered a 20 oz Oktoberfest and after 15 or 20 minutes the waitress said the bartender only poured a 14 oz. ( but she would only charge me for a 14 oz !?!?). No apology. No offer of getting another beer when our wings arrived. If you're pouring a beer, why didn't he pour the 20 oz that I ordered instead of the 14 oz? Luckily, I had half a glass of water left to eat our food. People who came in after us were getting their drinks and food before our wings showed up. I know service is tough right now, but this was a big disappointment in customer care. It will be a while before we return.

Yelp
This place took over the space that Ground Round was in. I loved the Ground Round but this place tops that. It is fresh and fun, there are a lot of smoked meat items that they smoke and they are delicious. The burgers, wings, beef brisket and steaks are great. The drawback of a good restaurant is that it is busy a lot of the time. They show a wait list on Yelp. When there is a wait, the seating in the arcade is open seating so you can sit, drink and play in the arcade until your table is ready. The arcade is normally 21 plus but there are special days/times kids are allowed. Please check out the many food and drink picks that I have taken to illustrate the Bourbon Butcher experience. Not many people leave disappointed.

Yelp
I thought it was about time I finally gave this place a visit. First heard about it on an ad suggestion on Facebook a couple of years back. However a couple a months ago I actually gave their sister location (Whiskey Inferno) in Savage a visit and had their adult slushies and food a try. But what caught my attention that visit was their smoked Manhattan. Seeing someone order that made me think I must have one! So here I am 2 months later at their restaurant in Farmington finally trying it out. As mentioned above I got their Smoked Manhattan to drink and ordered the Brisket meal for my food. The Smoked Manhattan was great for my taste. I loved the presentation, almost like a show, your server brings out a wooden box that has a glass window with their restaurant name laser etched onto it. Inside you can see the smoke but the drink is hidden. Then the server lifts up the glass and that cheery wood smoke comes pouring out and just fills your senses with anticipation. Wood moke but with hints of cherry underlying it. Then as the smoke clears you see the drink, a Manhattan with a rustic cherry garnish. Presentation is without a doubt an A+, scent an A+, as for flavor I would give it an A. My Brisket meal unfortunately wasn't up to par. The Brisket itself was kinda dry for my liking, more stringy than melt in your mouth. I had to take each bite with some sauce. Thankfully they supply you with up to 5 different BBQ sauces to use. I wished the Smoked Gouda Mac n Cheese had more cheese! I had a hard time tasting any cheese, it was almost bland for my preference. Also since it was lacking in cheese it also lacked that creamy texture you'd get from the melted cheese. While the corn bread and green beans were good, they were also average, nothing special. My waitress was excellent and I think the rest of the staff did a great job as well. I just wished the food was up to par that way I could give this place 4 stars. Also this place is quite out of the way for me. So with that said I might give this spot another try but only if I'm in the area again. Right now I am however interested in their other location in Eagan, The Volstead House, I think I'll have to give that place a try sometime soon.

Yelp
I'm the owner of Xtreme Pest Solutions and bring my employees here for "Thank you lunch meetings" and that's because the food is absolutely amazing, staff is so on point and fast. I can't say enough about the quality of food too as it's such a treat. Me and all my technicians are absolutely addicted to the Duck Wontons and HIGHLY suggest trying them if you haven't. The atmosphere is that of rustic but yet modern feel. I tip my hat as this is a great place, Keep up the great work!

Yelp
Outstanding brisket of beef. Best I've ever had. Sides were fresh and delicious. Great service and attentive staff. Interesting bar menu ~ largest selection I've ever seen. Will be back very soon.

Yelp
If I lived in Farmington, this would be my go to place. Luckily I checked Yelp before we arrived, so we put our name on the list and I got a text telling me the wait was between 60-90 minutes, so to arrive 60 minutes after putting my name on the list. We arrived at that time, and only had about a 10 minute wait after that (just enough time to order drinks from the bar). Our server, Jenna, was great. She gave good recommendations, and frequently checked in to make sure we had everything we needed, without being too pushy or overbearing. We started with the deviled eggs. They came out quickly and were gone in a flash - the bacon jam was a great added touch. For entrees, we shared the 1/2 smoked chicken, Butcher's plate, and beet salad. I would definitely recommend the smoked chicken - it has a delicious dry rub and the meat was not dry at all. The Butcher's plate had some hits and some misses. The ribs and sausage were excellent, but the chicken that came with that was dry and the brisket was too fatty for my liking. For sides, the green beans were crispy, yet tender and well-seasoned and I enjoyed the mashed potatoes. The brussels sprouts were too sweet for my taste. There were some issues with our meal - we asked for the salad dressing on the side, and it didn't come at all. Additionally, my chicken was supposed to come with a cornbread muffin, but that was missing. Luckily, Jenna came by shortly after our food arrived and took care of the missing items. The only real miss of the night was the bread pudding. It tasted stale and dry, and was ultimately pretty flavorless. In the future, I would skip it. Portions were large and prices were reasonable! I took half my chicken home and it heated up well the next day. Check Bourbon Butcher out if you are in the area.

Yelp
I keep hoping this place would return to its roots but it keeps failing harder each time we visit. The waitress recommended the prime rib with potatoes and asparagus as the NYE special. It sounded nice so we both went with it. 5 minutes after the appetizer arrived we were informed that the special was actually steak. We both said ok. After 30+ minutes of waiting I asked for an ETA and the waitress asked how we want them cooked - again. There was plenty of staff. Half the restaurant is empty. A 12 person table that arrived 30 minutes after us, ordered and had food on the table before our arrived. There were no vegetables with the steak. It was just a chewy sirloin steak and potato with no veggie. They didn't have asparagus available so we had to order a side vegetable each and then wait for it while our steak got cold. 6:45 arrival to almost 9 departure for 2 people no special requests is not good food service. Our rubberized steak leftovers will go to the dogs. Please fix this restaurant even if you need to double the prices...

Yelp
Love this place! Even though we didn't get to check out their food, we loved the vibe. The bartenders were friendly. We wished we would've seen the other side where they had axe throwing. That was cool! We will definitely be back there next time we visit. We have heard they have good burgers so we can't wait to try them.

Yelp
We travel from the cities to come here! Great happy hour. Must have Old Fashion and if you like Smokey they have a smoked Old Fashion that is very flavorful. On the food side the bourbon glazed Wings are 5stars! Brisket and others meats are great as well. Go to place for drinks and good food.
