"Every time — every single time — showing up at Beatrice turns into one of the best meals of the month. This time we got the Louisiana charcuterie and were delighted to see the cochon corn dog from the restaurant’s October dinner had been added to it. And those biscuit crackers, made from leftover pastry dough, are still stellar." - Courtney E. Smith

We had dinner here on 01/11/2025. Our initial waitress came to the table and asked for our drink orders, but she never returned. Seemed like she was tending to other tables around us other than ours. After nearly 15 minutes of still waiting, I was about to tell my husband that we can leave. Then, a second waitress came to the table and informed us that she will take over as our waitress, because they had a huge party group in the other room. So, the second waitress brought us our drink order and took our order down for appetizers. Well, then a third waitress (Cailey?) was the person who tended to us for the rest of our time there. Cailey was very sweet and attentive to us, and I appreciated her apologizing to us about the long wait. The Crawfish Wontons were ok, but I did not like that they were battered slightly too much with some type of power on them. The steak bites were delicious! 😋 My husband and I really enjoyed them. My charboiled oysters were very delicious and tasteful! My husband liked his shrimp poboy, but there were not alot of shrimp on the poboy. Overall, we were pleased with the outcome of our experience with the restaurant and the customer service.

Great Swamp Pop music playing on stereo. Nice bar area with tables and then a separate area for families with small children, which is very nice if you’re trying to have a quiet adult experience. Tonight there was a very large family with lots of children seated in that area so that was nice to be separated from that. Beautiful folk art on the wall, LSU memorabilia, beautiful bar seating, huge bar area. 2 bloody Mary’s were on point. One steak was overdone the other perfect Food was served, hot and fast TraditionalGrilled oysters were on point very delicious Served with toasted garlic bread.

Food took forever to get. Took over an hour to receive 2 chicken tenders for a child but the other child got theirs 20 min before. We finally get some food. Waitress brings sauce to dinner after it's long gone and still charged $12! Ask for manager. Manager didn't show up. Ask again finally shows up. He removes sauce charge only. Food that never showed up was still charged for. Manager couldn't care less. Didn't care to fix issues and had a crap attitude. Charged an automatic 20% tip. Only had 5 adults and 2 kids. Tables who got in after we did ate and left before we got food. Wouldn't go back. I rarely write reviews but this is past ridiculous. Step up Tim and do your job!

I've eaten here a couple of times before. I usually order the same thing each time. I ordered the LG fried fish with the fries and a cucumber/tomato salad. I also ordered the spinach dip. We'll, the dip was good, but the fried bow tie pasta that came along with it was too hard to even eat. I didn't make a fuss about it and just didn't eat it. Then the entrée came out. I think I paid $24 for it. The fish was so fishy and was not good at all. We did mention it to our waitress who apologized and said she would let the manager know. He NEVER came to our table. His response was, "this is the fish we always use. Its from Breaux Bridge. " Needless to say, i walked away with $52 less in my pocket and still hungry. Yes, I spent $52 on just my meal and nothing to show for it. I would NEVER go back there and I would NEVER recommend anyone to go there. A big disappointment.

Google
Owner needs to stop bitching at staff in the front of God and everyone. Do that stuff in the kitchen. They need to fix the AC. Been there twice in 2 months and it was super hot. Beer taps were incorrect. Clearly understaffed(prob because owner). Server was very nice and polite. Food was good but certainly not worth the prices they are charging. You can go to dons and get the same food for cheaper and the quality is better. I’ll try again in a few months or maybe a year and see if anything has changed.

The food was outstanding!! Yummy. Can't wait to go back. Service was excellent. Chef came out.. told him food was most excellent The atmosphere was beautiful. I enjoyed the art work as well!! I would hang some of the artwork in my home!!

During our dinner today we had a medical emergency and the staff acted very quickly. This was a scary moment for us as my aunt needed immediate medical care and the staff did not hesitate to help. They went above and beyond by packing up our food while we worked with EMS and continuously checked in making sure we were okay. This could have come off as an inconvenience or a problem but instead the staff stood up and helped out. Our family will forever be thankful for the kindness and compassion offered by the staff. Not the mention the food was amazing and the server was quick and attentive!

We had the burgers years ago during the first few weeks they were open. Juicy and tasty, they encouraged us yo return several times. The burgers we had tonight were still $15.... but were not nearly as tasty. The meat patty was so overcooked that it crumbled and was incredibly dry. To say it had no flavor would not be true.... but it definitely left something to be desired. The Oyster shooter was served in a drink glass with "sauce" that was so spicy it was almost inedible. It was almost a case of "Let's cover the lack of flavor with a ln overabundance of heat," a very poor culinary choice made fairly often by amateurs in the kitchen. In any restaurant setting, though, we just expect more.

Yelp
Food was excellent!! We had the oysters and catch of the day. Our friends had the burger, snapper, and roast beef dip sandwich. It all looks amazing. Service was a bit slow. Shucker was slow. Otherwise it was great! Will Geaux back!

Holly M.

Yelp
We arrived as the place opened on Dec 23, and stayed an hour and a half, mostly because the service took forever. Only 2 other tables became occupied during our stay. There were 4 adults and 2 children at our table, the food took about 45 minutes to come out after we ordered. There was only one server working, it was unclear if she was cooking as well. I ordered a simple fried shrimp Caesar salad, it was basic. The dressing was a leaning more on the vinegar side vs creamy, which I didn't care for. There were a lot of croutons on it, which were hard as a rock. My husband ordered the stuffed bell peppers because he loves them at home. He didn't seem to like them, the texture was weird and I think he was expecting a traditionally prepared bell. The kids burger, I don't know because my toddler was toddlering and didn't touch it. He ate all of his fries though, and I did taste one, they were very good. Other food ordered was a bisque and fried catfish with etouffee which looked delicious, the others did enjoy their meals.

Yelp
We live near Boutin's. We don't eat out much, but Boutin's is as good as it gets for Cajun food. I usually get the crab au gratin. It comes with a twice-baked potaoe and that alone is excellent. Atmosphere is nice and lively, service is good. My only complaint is that eating out seems to have gotten expensive, not just here, but everywhere. Pay cash and save the cc fee.

Jill L.

Yelp
Lunch at Boutin's is delicious. Gumbo, shrimp poboys, and hamburgers are excellent. Great place to take out-of-towners looking for an authentic Cajun experience. Our server was personable and made for a relaxed experience. Now it's a bit pricey, but we were able to still get lunch specials that are no longer on the actual menu. I only wish I would've thought to take pictures while I was there.

Shane D.

Yelp
The Oysters are great. We had Raw oysters and charbroiled oysters . The appetizer was Fried green Tomato's . Service was wonderful , as always. This is our Thursday evening get away. 1/2 off oysters from 4-6 pm. Everything on the menu that I have had is delicious. Clean establishment , restrooms are very clean. This resturant is great all around. A must try.

W. J.

Yelp
Excellent food and friendly service. Plenty of parking. Menu has a good variety to choose from.

Ray C.

Yelp
Great Cajun food and attention. We had an event an had a large group. There was an event room that we reserved. The food was great and tasty. I look forward to my next visit.

Chance B.

Yelp
Ordered steaks for the wife and I a few weeks ago and honestly they were horrible. I just gave them a second chance and ordered a burger to go. It took 45 minutes and the burger really was not good at all. Every time I go I'm disappointed. Best thing on the menu is beer.

Victoria R.

Yelp
Great choice for seafood in Carencro, not far off I-49. Our servers were great and the food was perfectly seasoned and hot. We had the gator bites fried with a roumalade sauce. Ranch would have been better, but it was good nevertheless. The fried shrimp was really good and the twister fries were freakishly good! So hot and crispy! The poboy bread wasn't a big winner, but it was ok. Crawfish etoufee was flavored well if a little on the salty side. The rest of the food was so good that I forfeited eating the macque choux, which was also fine but not worth the limited room in my stomach on this evening. We will keep coming back for sure and try everything else on the menu.

Todd U.

Yelp
Ordinary looking. Service was ok. The food though... very good. The boudin dip. Good. The Cajun egg rolls worth going out of the way for. I'd go back. I'd go out of my way to go back... yes

Aj B.

Yelp
Very good food. Seafood gumbo, corn and crab bisque are very good. All good food. Get you a double crown and sprite.

Rick F.

Yelp
Seemed very, very expensive for "lunch specials". Three ate w/ ice tea, bill was over $80, plus tip. Food OK, plenty parking, clean restrooms.

Na'Lani R.

Yelp
Not a bad experience at Boutin's. I do have to say that I'd go back again for the boudin queso. The pepper Jack shrimp were not bad, and the Bayou Rouge was mediocre in my opinion. I feel that the crab it was stuffed with was kind of "fishy" tasting and oddly textured. The fish was seasoned pretty well. But if you come to Boutin's, definitely don't forget to order the queso!

Maisha C.

Yelp
Our waiter Justin was doing his best to make things better, but the kitchen is slow and then our food was lukewarm. The restaurant wasnt even packed. 100 plus dollars for 3 people for cold food not cooked how you requested... yeah... I'll never be back.

Ray H.

Yelp
Food is really good Seems like very fresh seafood and prepared well. It does cost a little more than a regular spot so be prepared to pay more. Would recommend this as a nice place to go

Catherine S.

Yelp
This was the best flavored and best cooked steak I've had in a long time. The service was perfect. The location was close and the food was immaculate. Very good.

Linda B.

Yelp
Considering it is Father's Day they had a Fathers Day menu. The steak bite's appetizer were delicious and seasoned right , the grilled shrimp and spring veggies were delicious. The fried catfish and fried shrimp were great . We had the best friendliest waitress I think her name is Denise she was very accommodating also . This is a restaurant that you should try out I call it a "Gem."

Hannah J.

Yelp
From apps to drinks to entrées, everything was amazing! First of all, the spinach dip appetizer was served with fried bowtie pasta noodles instead of chips - YUM. My table ordered a variety of cocktails and all tried each others'; I tasted the Caramel Pecan Pie Martini, Black Cherry Rye Smash, Jack's Apple Lemonade, Moscow Mule, and Boutin's Old Fashioned with Woodford Reserve. My favorite was the pecan pie drink, tasted just like a caramel frappe, very sweet but definitely had plenty vodka in the mix. My dinner (fried crawfish, etoufee, sautéed veggies, and a house salad) and was extremely satisfied. My partner had the French dip (roast beef and Swiss) sandwich, which was also great. Service was pretty good, maybe could use more organization and general menu/restaurant knowledge, but they were friendly and efficient. Everything was clean and orderly, and the artwork was very fitting and nice!

Carolyn F.

Yelp
The worst fried oysters I ever had in my life . We only atethe french fries . We order spinach dip the was horrible too. I would never go back there . The service was good it's not the waitress fault . One member of the party had grilled Redfish an twice baked potato he said It was good . That bill was $80 bucks for 2 People fried oysters were like rubber .

Eric D.

Yelp
A superb meal! I don't know what Justin does to the Spinach dip, but it is the best I've had! The fish was perfectly cooked and the seasoning was perfect. When I return to this area, this a 'must do' for another meal!

Victor W.

Yelp
Our family of four stopped in for dinner in a Friday night around 7:30 and found a light crowd, but we were seated immediately. Our waitress quickly arrived with waters and menus and we quickly ordered some fried alligator bites and crawfish wontons. Both arrived piping hot and were quite tasty. The remoulade sauce that accompanied the alligator was worth the extra mention. With oysters on the menu, we shared a dozen of the Traditional, which are chargrilled with garlic butter and cheese with toasted bread. They disappeared nearly instantaneously while the entrees arrived. Chicken and sausage gumbo was heaping with meat and the po-boy was overflowing with shrimp; both too much to finish though we tried out best. Our other two entrees were some of their specialties: Opelousas Baked Duck and Pepper Jack Shrimp. The duck was delicious, tender with a crispy skin, and the shrimp were large, wrapped in bacon and pepper jack cheese, and fried to a golden brown, served atop a crawfish cream sauce. Both dishes were accompanied with Cajun rice and were such large portions, we couldn't finish it all. That said, no desserts were sampled, but the experience overall was a good one. We will be back to try some of the other things that looked good on the menu.

Reva A.

Yelp
The environment was very colorful, expected with Cajun restaurants. The server we had presented attentively and kept our drinks filled. Definitely and pet peeve of mine. The Etoufeè was probably the best I have ever tasted!! His new cheesecake is LIT! I'll definitely be here again

Michael C.

Yelp
I really wanted to like Boutan's! It's close to where I live and the waitstaff is so friendly. The food is "meh", and even that is tolerable because sometimes you just want fried seafood that doesn't cost a lot. Here's where the problem comes in.... It's so expensive for "meh" quality food! It's just not worth it. To add even more salt to the wound, I was charged $3 every time the waitress brought me a fountain drink. Are you kidding? They're also charging 4% if you pay with a credit card. There's so many great seafood restaurants in Lafayette! Sadly, Boutan's just doesn't have what it takes to be one of them. If you're from out of town, definitely explore other cajun restaurants in the area. Boutan's is not a worthy representation of our local food culture. The two stars I gave it is based on the fact that there is always a table available because most locals won't eat here.

Jill A.

Yelp
Delicious meal and experience for a Saturday night. Live music was enjoyable. Highly recommend the baseball sirloin, crawfish enchilada, grilled WITHOUT bread crumbs crab cakes, fried alligator and the roast beef and Swiss with au jus. Almost anything you try is yummy. Be warned the stuffed mushrooms are deep fried. Not my fave. Their desserts are so satisfying see photos attached for your pleasure. Cheesecake drizzled with chocolate and caramel and the warm bread pudding with pecan pieces in a sauce are mouth watering. Service was wonderful.

Paige A.

Yelp
Over priced for the low quality taste ! I never plan on going back definitely was not impressed

Randall M.

Yelp
Excellent! I had the crawfish enchiladas and my wife had the stuffed red fish. Both were amazing. We're also going to have the bread pudding for dessert but I have no doubt it'll be just as good. Love the music they play overhead and the waitress was very friendly. This is definitely Carencro's hidden gem and we will be coming back!

Wade G.

Yelp
Great service super big oysters Great service Emma and Robert ! New found regular place!

Emma D.

Yelp
Not good ettouffee tastes like a cheddar sauce only found two crawfish and they used jasmine rice?!! This is NOT cajun food crab cakes were good I only got 5 shrimp with my shrimp basket MOST places come with 10-12 shrimp coleslaw a bread roll and tarter sauce with fries I could see the bottom of my plate there was so little food this is NOT cajun food!

Sharon D.

Yelp
Crabmeat Au Gratin House Special Was wonderful, my husband had this with the potato! I had the best ever Corn and Crab Bisque! I get that everywhere I go but this was the absolute best I've ever had! I also had the half fried catfish Po boy which was excellent!

M B.

Yelp
We arrive here driving down from LeCompte and found staff extremely welcoming and helpful as we had two small dogs with us we asked to be able to sit outside and would they serve us. The answer was an enthusiastic "of course" we found the food fabulous and as I lived in New Orleans for ten years I feel able to judge. Also the bread tasted as if fresh baked. All of the waitresses went out of their way to accommodate us. I am a retired ships officer and have been all over the world so when I put four stars .....BELIEVE Toon

T.J. B.

Yelp
Have you ever enjoyed hot fresh quesadillas after dipping it into the cool guacamole and sour cream? It's like magic in your mouth. Now imagine overpaying for quesadillas and then NOT getting any of the side sour cream, guacamole, etc. What a disappointment! I ordered through a delivery app 2 orders of quesadillas and a $16 bowl of seafood gumbo. What did I get? A small cup of gumbo and absolutely nothing to go with the quesadillas. The big problem is when I called and spoke to the little girl (she sounded no older than 12 years old) who put our order together. She was not apologetic and I honestly didn't expect her to be. Children her age have not developed those skills. Anyway, she admitted that she personally don't like sour cream or guacamole and so it was not important to her to include those items in our order. This is the SECOND time this has happened to us out of the two times we have ordered from here. The manager seems to care and like the first time we called him, he promises that if we call him next time we order, he will make sure it's right and even throw in some of the things we were missing this time. You are so sincere sounding and very nice. But the fact is we paid $60+ for 4 tortillas with a little bit of chicken and cheese inside of them and a tiny cup of somewhat decent gumbo. I felt very ripped off on both orders and will definitely not be ordering from you again. My advice: hire better people and make sure your employees are of legal working age.

William H.

Yelp
Well my experience was definitely not a great one. Let's first get this one clear, our waitress was impeccable. She did every thing well including trying to sell less that mediocre food. Started out with drinks not a big let down but just ok. Opener was a dish they called "Boudin Queso" not sure where that one came from but I'm not a fan. Small amount of mixed queso mixed with a not great Boudin, and a half inch layer of cheese on top you had to cut through with a knife and fork. Entree; I had the lump crab eggplant, greasy eggplant and crab cake with much to much filler. My wife had fried crawfish, very blan. This all with a creepy owner that dosn't trust his staff. Parks himself in dinning room and watches his staff with a very creepy stare. Sat down next to us to do it. #unnerving #tooexpensive #moneywasted

Diane A.

Yelp
Excellent crab and corn bisque. The oysters inn the fried oyster poboy were nice and fat and juicy. The po'rboy bread was great it had just the right texture for a sandwich. The grilled shrimp s poboy was great. Service was very friendly.

Michael M.

Yelp
Tasty food but far over priced. The servers are very nice but the Service is poorly done. Especially confusing all around when splitting checks. We had 4 dishes and 3 of us got a drink and it came out to be $156. 3 Dishes were $25 one was $35. They have a required 20% gratuity and when paying with a credit card they take a 3% service fee.

Valerie T.

Yelp
Prices are a bit high but it was soooooo worth it! Definitely will travel back to Louisiana again to eat here. Staff were also super friendly.

Brad D.

Yelp
Didn't realize that this was the same owner of the Boutin's that used to be in Baton Rouge. Stopped by for lunch. My wife had a grilled shrimp poboy and a cup of seafood gumbo. Both were excellent. I had crawfish and Tasso Alfredo. Full of crawfish, great white sauce. Large servings. I walked away happy and felt that it was well worth the money. When in the area we will be back. We were fortunate to meet Mr. Boutin...super nice man with plenty of restaurant experience. Class act.

Kennith V.

Yelp
We have seen this restaurant on Acadiana Eats a couple of times. There are several reviews that were less than kind. However we enjoyed our meals very much. My only suggestion would be the Sautéed vegetable were overdone and the seasoning was a little heavy on the vegetables. Other than that the meals were good, service was good. Definitely a do over.

Christy L.

Yelp
Server: Joseph Seagraves (we asked his name before we left) was very attentive without being obnoxious. Kept our teas filled, checked on us just the right amount of times, provided excellent service. Food: I ordered the 8 oz sirloin and subbed a sweet potato and steamed veggies for whatever the sides were came with it. Although it was one of the thickest sirloins I have ever eaten, all was delicious and perfectly cooked. My husband ordered the ribeye and he was definitely impressed. He said' "man I love a good chargrilled ribeye" Cleanliness: very clean! But to be fair, I believe they recently opened so hopefully it stays that way! Overall we really enjoyed both the food and the service and will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Chris L.

Yelp
Ordered the New York strip, put a bite in my mouth and i was greeted by the most rottenness flavor. Gave it a sniff, and you can tell it should have been thrown away about three or four days ago. Now I've been feeding myself for 50 years, can cook anything. Make my own boudan, my own sausage. My own hog head cheese, I definitely can tell when a piece of meat is going bad. The kitchen said they couldn't smell anything. I told him to taste it. No response. So I ordered the ribeye, same thing my wife had. When I got mine she had ate about a quarter of hers, needless to say both of the ribeye should have been thrown out today. Now when my stake came out the kitchen again, my baked potato and my grilled vegetables were missing. They did not get replaced. The the waitress kept coming and asking if everything was all right and I told her the baked potato was probably the best thing, Knowing damn well it wasn't even on my plate and she can see that. I hate to see that a family-owned restaurant would serve that instead of cutting their losses and throwing that away. So if you go there don't eat the steak. Maybe try the fry seafood as long as it hadn't been sitting there, anybody could batter it and Fry and it should taste good, as long as it's not rotten that is.

Jules L.

Yelp
On a whim, stopped after doing some picking at Becky's Barn. Nola 75 and old fashion were great. Wife had the catfish shrimp plate with fries and mache cheaux. I had the chicken Alfredo. Chicken is charred and on top of the pasta. Service and food were great.

Kyle D.

Yelp
Took about 30 minutes per dozen of oysters to come out. Only only person shucking oysters for all orders of oysters. The manager was cursing and hollering in kitchen which everone could hear from the tables....so unprofessional. The baked potato and was ice cold in middle. They took it back and put in microwave and brought back to us.

Robin R.

Yelp
I was a big fan of the restaurant when they were in Baton Rouge and have on occasion made the drive to this location for a few of my favorites. Today the crawfish wontons were delicious. However when the entrees arrived was when the experience went downhill. First bite of my stuffed potato and I stab into a large potato chunk. It was frozen. Thinking it was just still cold because it was so large I take a bite from an end. No whole chunk but still cold. That's fine, I move onto my Crawfish Enchiladas. The tortilla is crunchy, the cheese on top is brown. The first bite? Crunch down on a frozen crawfish. I set my plate aside thinking the server will be back soon and can get it reheated. My green beans were definitely cooked. They were black and tasted charred. Server didn't come back until the rest of the table was done eating. She offered to have the food remade but who wants to eat when the rest of the table is watching? Besides, we didn't have that much time. She said she talked to the manager but the manager never showed their face at our table. I would have been satisfied with a discount but that was refused. If you're happy to pay $20 for a frozen dinner this is your place. I got my hot meal at McDonald's across the street

David R.

Yelp
We have a wonderful dinner with family the food and service was awesome. Just ask about the prices for wine ! $9 for 4 oz house wine cheaper to bring your own bottle.

Mary F.

Yelp
This was the second time we visited. Very disappointed. Crawfish not seasoned. Burger burnt We waited a very long time. At least 15 minutes or more to be so disappointed. Will not be back.

Steve C.

Yelp
My wife and I had PO boys and sweet potato fries for a quick bite after our great grand son's ball game. They had a Cajun band " Le Tois Benoit ", a mother, daughter & daughter in law. A great surprise to end our day. Pleasant staff and atmosphere. Food was served hot and very tasty.

Kathi N.

Yelp
Delicious $1 char-grilled oysters on Thursdays. The cup of seafood gumbo is brimming full of crawfish, shrimp and lump crabmeat. Best I've ever tasted in Lafayette area. Homemade burgers are incredible.

B H.

Yelp
No military discounts. Long wait time. For food and service. Roast beef poboy was very dry. Beer was 3/4 filled

Mixednutz W.

Yelp
service was great, food needed more flavor & bigger portions for that price. prices are reasonable if food was more thanks

Brandon B.

Yelp
Cozy place with great seafood, great service and a very nice bar. Oysters bar and great items from the grill.
