"A bakery, deli and butcher in Marylebone that’s also open for sit down lunch and dinner. Boxcar Baker is a trendy looking spot in Marylebone, and is a bit of a jack of all trades. It’s a deli, a butchers, and a bakery. Unfortunately, on our visit, it was a master of none of those trades. The pastries were average, and the lamb chops were a disgrace. On the plus side, the burger was pretty damn good. Boxcar is fine for a sit down burger if you’re in the area and their all-day menu could be useful if you’re in a tight spot. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Very nice local bakery/cafe. They are famous for some of their baked goods and they offer few breakfast/light lunch dishes. The coffee was excellent, I wasn't a big fan of the mug though, nice looking but not practical. Great service and nice atmosphere.

Cute bakery & cafe and friendly staff. This is a laptop free place, but you can stay as long as you want if catching up with friends. Packed with people when arriving 1:30pm on a weekend, but started to having more spaces from 2:30pm. All the pastry is so pretty but also quite expensive - ordered a matcha latte and an almond croissant (4.5 each), total 10.12. The taste is average, but I guess we pay for the atmosphere and aesthetics.

The Boxcar Cafe in London is a charming breakfast spot that offers a delightful selection of treats. Their pain au chocolat and cinnamon bun are standout items, both crafted with high-quality ingredients and bursting with flavor. The avocado toast is fresh and satisfying, complementing the delicious pastries perfectly. The coffee is excellent as well, making it a great place to start the day. Overall, it’s a quaint and inviting cafe that’s definitely worth a return visit.

This place is quaint with a vibrant atmosphere. Staff is friendly and attentive. However, I ordered a ginger and lemon tea to have on premise but it was served in a take out cup. Not sure which has the higher carbon footprint (washing a cup or throwing a disposable one away) but serving customers take out cups who chose to stay on premise seems a waste to me. Also, as you can see from the pic, there is no teabag in this ginger and lemon "tea"!

I visited Boxcar Baker & Deli today and had a pleasant experience overall. The staff was nice, and the place looked cute with a playlist I really liked. However, my iced latte was served in a to-go plastic cup even though I was sitting in the cafe, which was disappointing. The coffee wasn’t that great. I also had an almond croissant, which was fun due to its unique shape but ended up being a bit too sweet at the end. Both the latte and the croissant were £4.50 each, quite expensive in my opinion, but typical for London prices.

Lovely atmospheric stop for a coffee! I got a pain au chocolat and a small cappuccino. The cappuccino was very good but I was disappointed by the pastry. They look wonderful and have a very original shape and lamination so I was expecting a lot. The pain au chocolat was too sugary and the dough wasn’t flaky and buttery but crunchy in a hard way. It was good but not authentic tasting. The staff were nice and the overall atmosphere was lovely. Well located next to St Mary’s, I would definitely recommend coming here for a quick stop and sweet treat. On a sunny day, some outdoor seating is available and would be very enjoyable. The coffee and bakery were overpriced for the quality but typical London prices. I would definitely come again!

This has been on my list and I’m glad I was able to try it! It’s a great spot for iced chai, mine was delicious. The servers were very friendly and accommodating. The space is small inside but they have more outdoor tables for seating. I didn’t get a chance to eat anything but I loved the ambiance and my drink.
