Fabulous eatery with fantastic service, ambiance and hospitality. The portions were just right and the prices were quite reasonable. Would recommend to anyone thinking of coming here. You will not be sorry you did.

Came here after a day of skiing and ordered at around 5:30, restaurant was virtually empty. Was served my food over an hour later at 6:45. My food was lukewarm and the seafood was subpar. It was an okay experience, probably below average. Would not really recommend. Judging from some of the reviews I have read, it seems that more recently the restaurant has been on a decline.

Absolutely horrible service speed and attitude. An hour at the table and all that came were the appetizers. Waitress was rude to the extent that seemed like she wanted us to get out immediately, if so just send us our food and we can be on our way... Food was mediocre, service was horrible, only thing acceptable was the atmosphere. Will not be coming back and do not recommend anyone to come here unless all you want is watching a candle burn to its death.

I recently revisited Brandywine, a place I used to frequent throughout my childhood. I was excited to return, but the visit fell short in several ways. There were four of us plus a baby, and we were seated at a table far too small for our group. It was so cramped that the waitress had difficulty finding space for our two appetizers. On top of that, we were placed directly under a ceiling speaker that crackled and buzzed constantly—definitely not conducive to a comfortable dining experience. One small silver lining was that we were served quickly. I remembered long waits as a kid, so I was glad to skip that part. Unfortunately, the service itself was lackluster. Our server seemed uninterested in engaging with us at all. It’s hard not to wonder if our visibly queer and trans identities influenced the cold reception, but whatever the reason, there were little to no pleasantries and minimal effort beyond the absolute basics. The soda had an odd taste, and they were out of the creamy Italian dressing I used to love, which was really disappointing. The salads, when they arrived, were very small and served on cheap plastic plates, which didn’t help the overall impression. The portion sizes for the entrées were generous, but the quality left a lot to be desired. I ordered the carbonara, which was watery, bland, and unappetizing. The bacon was oddly pink and undercooked, adding to my discomfort. Overall, the experience was disappointing. The food didn’t live up to my memories, the atmosphere was unpleasant, and the service felt cold at best. Sadly, this visit made it clear that Brandywine isn’t what it used to be—and I likely won’t be returning.

We went to dinner with a group of 6 people on a bachelorette trip. The food was slow, very mediocre, and overpriced. The chair that the bride (wearing white) sat in had chocolate cake on it. When we pointed out that the chair was unclean and soiled the bride’s dress, the waitress laughed and didn’t apologize or try to rectify the situation; she said “at least the dress is a rental!” (was from Nuuly). The service was unbelievably unprofessional.

I have been going to Brandywine for many years. I am disappointed with how much the quality has decreased. I ordered a hot antipasto. It came with 2 of many items. I could not tell the difference of any of the items. They did not explain what they were, and all were covered with sauce, and many were overcooked. The service was very slow. Overall, it is not worth going back.

Hi! Let your customers know your drinks aren't refillable. I feel ripped off for $17.50 for an iced tea and sprite. Waitess never said a word until the end when I saw the bill and asked and she just said "oh sorry"

I mean WOW! The portion, the quality, the vibe, and THE PRICE, everything is amazing! We ordered fried calamari for appetizer. And it’s a huge plate. Can’t imagine the size for the full plate. Linguine and pasta are also delicious.

Whenever I visit Upstate I have to go to Brandywine! Such a ca atmosphere where you can sit with your group and have a conversation.and enjoy without being rushed. The bread, the pasta, the steak and seafood are all good. Love the baked clams!

We have been coming here for a few years. The food is fresh and delicious. It takes a little while to come, but that is because they make everything from scratch. Last weekend, they hosted my husband's birthday party. They were absolutely wonderful. The food was great, they even included sodas and appetizers and the service was perfect. They were thoughtful and accommodating. I truly cannot recommend them enough.

This is an excellent restaurant. Great food, and wonderful service. Enjoy some wine and the view with great friends.

Brandywine is hands-down the best Italian restaurant on the mountain - serving up superior dishes with authentic roots, in an elegant-but-unpretentious setting with comfort & friendly service. You WILL NOT FIND a more favorable quality:price ratio as far as the eye can see.

Had a few moments with stuffed clams but was downhill from there. The mozzarella app was not as advertised. Was basically a gob of cheese on an over dressed salad. The soup of the day had almost no flavor. Water with chicken. Tons of great options on the menu. I chose veal Saltimbocca. Turned out to be two extremely thin pieces of veal and a tiny piece of prosciutto on a plate full of soggy spinach and some watery sauce. Nasty. The waitress was nowhere to be found after ordering. Couldn't get water forget about a second drink. Bus girl came by at least 4 times and asked if we were finished. Finally, the place is so dark I used my phone light to cut veal.

Wednesday night pasta night is a good value- $11.95 for selection of pasta dishes. Good bread and herb soft butter served when we sat down. Our pasta had good flavor, pasta was cooked well but would have preferred a thicker sauce. They were very busy, and service was OK. We ordered spinach salad for 2 that was $9- very good value. Salad was prepared table side. Decent wine list. Eggplant Rolatini is a staple here and always a good choice.

Always a great choice. The baked clams were delicious. The Veal Was tender and tasty. Nice portions. Make sure you stop here for dinner!

I first came to this restaurant because I was looking for food for my wedding and Brandywine came HIGHLY recommended by my new in-laws. And from the beginning of the process to the very end, they did not disappoint. All of my guests RAVED about the food, everything was fresh and delicious. One of my guests said they had 10 meatball appetizers and another said they had taken third helpings of everything! Even I had to make time to eat at my own wedding, something a lot of brides skip! Not only was the food perfection but all during the planning process the owner, Joe, had been so accommodating, and patient with our endless questions (we planned this wedding mostly ourselves), and really had insight into what would work best and was BEYOND helpful. Listen, I can't say enough about this place. Stop in for lunch or dinner- it's amazing. Also, try the eggplant rollatini, it is soooo good!!!

Been going there for the past 4 years! the food isn't always good. the bartender is very rude and last night will be the last time. she changed extra for drinks that was never ordered. lucki I checked over the bill!

It's a bit of a strange lobby which was empty when we arrived. The hostess showed up and didn't greet us but gave us a look like she didn't know why we were there. A second after we sat down we were asked for our drink order. No time to decide and no wine menu given. We had to ask for the wine menu. The beer options were limited for our group as they prefer more microbrew types of beer and the IPA tap was out. When we chose the wine we were asked what's the number? The server didn't care to learn about the wine the restaurant serves only that you need to order bottles of wine by the number. There were some other strange things that happened while we were there which left us feeling like we made the wrong decision to come here for dinner. We ordered 4 different entrees and none of us felt we would return. The good- hot bread with an excellent herb butter. Nice side salad with homemade dressing. Cozy booth seating.

We were on vacation and were looking for a classy restaurant to take our friends for their anniversary. Well didn't we pick the right spot to go! Excellent food and friendly staff. Not to mention the wine by the glass was a generous pour. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.

My family and I have been dining here for around 30 years, definitely our most visited restaurant. Food and service are always great. Beverly at the bar makes fantastic drinks. Decor is warm and inviting. A must visit in Windham.

What a great meal with great friends. My family and I have been going here for over 35 years and the food and service never disappoint. Escargot to start, followed by a perfect Veal Milanese over a bed of Sauteed Spinach and Garlic and a decadent piece of Tiramsu to end. Well done Lou, Dave and Joe! And great cocktails Aunt Bevey

We visited Windham for the weekend and we were taken to Brandywine for dinner on Saturday night. Brandywine is a decent family-friendly Italian restaurant. My eggplant rollatini was very good. I'm taking off a star because service was very slow. It took a long time to get our food.

This is my new favorite Italian eatery!! The atmosphere is nice, the waitstaff are very attentive and polite and the food is delicious!! We went on a busy night and all the staff were hustling and providing excellent service. They brought us out Italian bread loaf with little breadsticks underneath with a side of their homemade garlic butter to start. I ordered a special appetizer which were mini clams in some sort of delicious marinade/broth and my brother ordered the mozzarella in corrozza which is a fried mozzarella sandwich (highly recommend if you love mozz sticks). For dinner I ordered the veal parm that came with a salad and a side order of spaghetti. Let me tell you the portion of veal was huge and their homemade special tomato sauce was to die for!! It may seem a little pricy but the quality of food and portions they give you are well worth it!

5 of us had a amazing dinner at Brandywines after a great day on the slopes at Windham Mountain . The eggplant rollatini was the best I have ever had! Everyone at the table raved about the food. The lamb chop special was out of this world. Our server was the best wish I remembered his name . Cant wait to return!

"Sorry!" False advertising of a pasta dish that wasn't at all what it was supposed to be and all the waitress could say was "Sorry!" She even checked with the chef and he said oops! What kind of customer service is that? They did nothing to make attempts for compensation.

My husband and I stayed in the area for our wedding anniversary. We went for pasta Wednesday as recommended by the locals unfortunately we found our waitress to be very unfriendly, cold, and Curt. The windows are filthy The rug looks original tables and chairs are worn out, decor is tired-looking. I gave it to stars because the food was satisfactory

Delicious food, good service, and you've gotta love the Tolkien-inspired theme and decor. This place is a treat, definitely worth experiencing. Go and enjoy!

No complaints at all, only compliments. Food was good, drinks were good, service was great. The decorations are very cute. I sat in a booth with my girlfriend, instantly felt like date night. Little bit pricey but not too crazy. Definitely worth a visit!

Hostess did not smile. Service was poor even though we were there at 5:45pm and there weren't many people around. Our waitress did not tell us about specials which we only found out about when the waitress at the next table asked the customers. Our food took over 45 minutes to arrive. Food was ok. Carbonara was way too creamy.

We had a great time here! It was a busy Saturday night during peak season and our waitress Meadow was amazing! My son has Autism and likes his food a certain way, and she made sure everything was done exactly like he wanted. I was worried that service would be lacking on such a busy night but it definitely was not! I had wanted an earlier reservation but couldn't get one, but the restaurant called me when a table became available earlier than anticipated. I was so appreciative of this. Food was delicious. Steak cooked to perfection. Drinks were delicious. We will definitely be back.

We were here with friends and the dinner was excellent. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I see that people complained about slow service. We did not experience that. Service was perfect. I had the Veal Sorrentino and it was delicious. We will definitely be back.

WHAT HAPPENED??? This restaurant has been our 4 to 5 times a year staple for the past 10 years. Always looked forward to the great food and "service" we have always experienced and appreciated. And yes, last night was our 2nd Covid visit so please don't think this review did not take that into consideration. In fact, the restaurant was not busy at all. Maybe a third full. Didnt recognize the regular staff we have become accustomed to last night. We were 4 thirsty, hungry and polite gentlemen. Our waitress and bus girl were just the opposite. What were their names? Who knows? They never introduced themselves, never cleared our table and couldn't care less that we were "customers and guests" in their establishment. My buddy ordered an Amstel. An Amstel light was brought to him and she told him they opened the wrong bottle. I ordered a martini "on the rocks ", it was brought to me straight up. Did I say we were 4 polite gentlemen? Right, we didn't argue and just sucked it up. The rest of the night continued the same. When my friend ordered a 2nd beer,, this time specifying a regular Amstel, she told him all they had was Amstel light. Well which was it? They opened the wrong bottle or they didn't have what he wanted in the first place? They couldn't care less. Ok, the food was still quality but its both food and service everyone looks for. If you were my customer, I would kiss your ass. All we were looking for was some level of caring and friendliness. We'll give it another shot when we return in February. Let's see then. C'mon Brandywine. Pay attention.

Stopped in while visiting area, standard Local Italian restaurant. Homemade ravioli was pretty decent. Decent wine selection.

Second visit a month apart and just as good! Service was fast and efficient and the food was amazing. Listen, I'm sure many have had Créme Brûlée before. But until you have the one homemade by head chef and owner Lou, you haven't had the best! Located in little Ashland, I was surprised at the quality of the food, great atmosphere and both times I ate (weekdays), they were pretty busy for the area. I haven't been there on a Wednesday night yet, but heard of you love spaghetti, this is the spot! But word is to get there early! Did I mention the owner is Italian? The man knows how to cook!

Came here with my boyfriend on a Saturday night for dinner during our stay in Windham. The service was nice but a little slow. My boyfriend and I enjoyed our food, but I've had better elsewhere. We ordered Chicken Francese and Calamari Marinara. I know calamari is tricky to cook, and it was a bit overdone.

Best described as inconsistent, ranging from a delicious meal at a great value, to a bland meal with scant portions. Was more than disappointed at my most recent visit ordering a seafood pasta which arrived on what had to be a half of a cup of linguine? Pasta is inexpensive.....wrong place to cut back! Not often do I leave a restaurant anxious to get home to eat something, (and I began my meal with an appetizer)! I know they can do better, and hope they improve and return to being one of my favorites on the mountaintop!

Good food, service was good. Not many choices in the area would recommend for some good Italian food. reasonable prices.

Had dinner here Saturday evening. It was pretty crowded but we called ahead and made reservations. Food was really good. I had the seafood fra diavolo . The sauce was really good just the right amount of spice. Wish it had a little more shrimp and scallops but really can't complain. The bread is not the best. Tastes like it was made the night before. My wife had the Chicken Marsala and she thought it was really good. Well worth the visit . Make sure you call ahead on weekends.

To start, they DO take credit cards and (on holidays at least) reservations. Walked in on a holiday to find a nicely lit, tidy space with lots of bare wood and cozy booths along the walls. They were nearly at capacity in our side of the dining area but the waiters and bussers were attentive and quick to check on us, refill drinks, and clear empty plates. The house salads were generic bagged fare with iceberg lettuce and a lonely plum tomato. The appetizers were the highlight of the evening and included some ho-hum quality but ENORMOUS scallops that were perfectly done. I appreciate a well cooked scallop, so this was worth a half if not whole star right here. Dinner included beef and chicken dishes, which, while cooked to the ordered doneness, were both drowned in busy, messy, bland sauces that were forgivable on the pollo dish and what would best be described as "MRE" with the beef. I almost want to add a star for the service staff and the glimmers of potential in the food prep, but am held back by the experience of being thoroughly unsatisfied with the entrees. I decided to not let it spoil the mood and to not give the staff a hard time on the holiday, but these plates would have been disappointing at half the price.

PASTA WEDNESDAY!!! Good food, good service, nice atmosphere. I like the booth seating and they have a nice bar area. This is the BEST restaurant in Windham. Order the mozzarella appetizer. I can't remember what it's called but it's a pad of breaded mozzarella decadence. Good wine. Plenty of parking. Eat, drink and be merry at Brandywine.

Brandywine is stuck in a time warp but the food is still good. The mozzarella appetizer was delicious and my eggplant rollatini was great! The server was awesome as well, she took great care of us. I could do without the cheesy decor but other than that, no complaints.

Italian food in a rustic lodge environment.. The portions were very generous and well executed. We had the tortellini which we loved, the shallots were a perfect addition to the sauce. The chicken rollatini was unique. It was rolled with swiss and ham and dressed in a light wine sauce. The service was attentive and pleasant as well. Our only question is why were there illustrations of characters from the hobbit drawn on the menu pages? This was a little strange to us.

Food was good.. but service was very SLOW . i had to get up and ask for forks, wine, napkins Seems like the food took forever to get out we literally were there for 3hrs we ordered fried calamari, salad and entree..

What a wonderful find! This restaurant tucked away in Ashland, NY offered an extensive Italian menu. We had veal saltibocca that was prepared to perfection. The veal was tasty and tender and the marsala sauce was subtle - not too sweet. The wine list was extensivBud R., Warwick, Nye and impressive. We chose a bottle of Bordeaux red from Chateau Loudeanne in Medoc. It was very good and the price was only $25. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Wyndham, NY area.

I've had better food and service elsewhere. This is not to say the food at Brandywine is bad, it's not. During our recent visit, they may have just been having an off night. Perhaps I'm being a little picky which is a trait I sometimes develop when I'm footing the bill. Now the Veal was OK but the accompanying sauce was overpowered with oregano and the dish would have benefited more with a simple ladle of any of the supermarket sauces over what the kitchen concocted that night. The Tortillini was edible, but nothing more. The restaurant was clean, friendly, attractive and decently priced. The service wasn't terrible. It was just slow. They may have been understaffed that night or our waitress may have been over worked however, while certainly pleasant, she would run off, never to be seen again until she brought our order and wasn't around to fulfill our minor requests of an additional appetizer, another soda and another napkin when needed. Despite the glowing review we received about the food at this establishment, it was not a great meal for us and we won't be coming back here anytime soon.

First I'd like to begin by stating this has been one of the worst dining experiences of my life. My fiancé and I had made 8 PM reservations at this restaurant as we were staying upstate New York for some fun snowboarding with friends. We arrived at this restaurant at 7:50 PM and we were immediately seated near the bathroom meanwhile they were plenty of other available seats. I would like you guys to keep in mind that I am of African-American descent and my fiancé is Hispanic. We placed our orders immediately as we already had in mind what we wanted to eat as well as drink. After feeling uncomfortable seated in a corner by the bathroom with plenty of available seats we asked to be seated somewhere else and we were moved as requested. We placed our order and did receive our drinks and appetizer within the first 15 to 20 minutes. Our main course did not arrive at the table till an additional 60 to 65 minutes. After eating our appetizer and drinking two beverages while waiting for our main course we became a bit discouraged at the time that it took for a main dish to arrive and my fiancé let the manager know we no longer wanted the main dishes which conveniently arrived at the table as she was speaking to the manager. We were ready full at this point not to mention annoyed at the excessive weight time she then told us she cannot return the dishes and will charge us but will also discount us as a courtesy. There were two or three other couples who came in after us place their orders and a wholesale paid their bill and left before we had gotten our main dish. I can't help it but feel that we were missed treated at this restaurant because we were black and Hispanic while everyone else was white. I do not use the race card loosely but I am sorry this is exactly what took place here today. We took our order to go and paid the bill as I did not want to create a scene and I was very fatigue from a long drive earlier in the day. By the way the discount that we were given were a beer or a cocktail and a soda which was removed from the bill. Immediately after we left my fiancé Felt sick to her stomach and had two bouts of diarrhea. To anyone reading this if you are not white please find somewhere else to dine they are racist.

Great ambiance, great food, great staff. The hostess was very friendly and nice, she really made us feel at home. The Mozzarella corroza appetizer was great along with the Clams En Bianco, which was to die for and the sauce was done really well. Entrees were great as well as dessert, my chicken had a little more sauce than I would have liked though, good thing it was delicious. Our waiter was surprisingly entertaining and provided for us throughout the night, he also had some very interesting things to talk about, very energetic, informed (and entertaining). Great time overall, definitely go there to eat! He kept referring to himself as Pepperbelly, I wish he would have just given us his real name. There was a man named John Wiktorko eating at a table next to us who smelled really bad and kept asking my wife for some of her French Fries. One or two was ok, but he kept pushing it, dipping each fry into a vat of salt and olive oil. It definitely took away from the ambiance, this customer. When my wife and I asked him to please stop, he guffawed at us and said "I run WAJCS, you can't touch me". He proceeded to chug a cup of marinara sauce and started bragging to his date about how he invented Mozzarella sticks, (which was an obvious lie). Probably the best italian food within 100 miles, definitely check out Brandywine!!! Pasta wednesdays are to die for too! 9.95 pasta specials all day wednesday!

One of my favorite places to eat on and off the mountain top. Nice environment. Love the candle light. Great service...reasonably priced.

My husband and I have been coming here for over 15 years and never had a negative experience up until the last 2 times we've been here. It is obvious that either it has changed hands or they have a new chef and servers. We ordered drinks that did not arrive until I had to ask the hostess for them. My meal was Luke warm while my husband's was piping hot and it wasn't busy. I'm very disappointed but hopeful they will again serve the high quality food they did in the past.

By far the worst service experience I have ever had in windham. We were seated at 6:45, and still waiting for our meals at 8:50. It seemed the staff was trying, yet had no control over anything. The kitchen was beyond backed up. Our request to speak to the manager or the owner was denied. Although I understand the restaurant was busy, if you can't serve the food timely, don't accept the reservations. Would not recommend on a weekend night-- there are plenty of friendlier, more efficient restaurants in windham.

Regular customer for the past 20 years. Proprietor, Lou is a stand up guy who runs his business with quality food, service, and community spirit. Always my go to during ski season. I have often ordered trays of food when company shows up. Food is consistent and delicious. Lou also supports the local community by hosting Wednesday pasta nights and supporting the Wounded Warriors when they come to Windham. Can't get better than that!

food was good, service was mediocre. don't go on holidays, the service is terrible. ate there once before and the service was fine. food is so-so but good for windham!

First time here after visiting Windham for about twenty years. My boyfriend and I were left standing at the hostess station for several minutes as many servers walked by without even saying hello. Not a big deal, that just struck us as odd. The dining room was about half full and the hostess sat us next to a very loud table. Again, nothing to be upset over, just a little off. Service was nice and attentive after that. Mozzarella carroza appetizer is delicious but heavy, I recommend splitting it. Salads were as the review below said. For dinner, I had chicken with their signature Brandywine sauce and that was fantastic. My bf had the stuffed shrimp and it looked more like an appetizer portion, but he said the flavor was good. Overall, I'd come back for a second meal, maybe next time we will sit at the bar.

Delicious. A must whenever I'm in town whether it be for lunch or dinner. never disappointed. The fried calamari is a must. I always take a wooden booth by the windows in back.

Just a wonderful restaurant year after year. This year we had a larger table of. 7. Our waitress Marie was as good as it gets. All her helpers (w their blond ponytails) were working so hard. Our meal was great and the service was over the top. We definitely rec this restaurant to couples and families. It's a big WOW!

Gotta whine a little about Brandywine tonight! Bearing in mind that everyplace was crowded in the little town of Windham this busy Saturday night, but the service at Brandywine was so poor it was unforgivable. After waiting about 1/2 hr to get a table (which we were told would only be 10 minutes) we were finally seated and the cute young waitress told us bread and water would be right out. 20 minutes later she told us for the third time that the bread would be right out as it was now "in the oven", but when it finally arrived it was not hot or fresh. Our entrees took about an hour to come out after she finally took our order in between promises about the bread arriving. Just before the waitress brought out our food she brought out a big platter and served it to a large table of people near us. She then came over to us and said defensively in a slightly irritated tone "they were here before you!" I hadn't said a word about the table next to us nor had I thought about them being served before us but we probably looked unhappy as we were waiting so long and it was now after 9 and we still didn't have our dinner. When the food finally arrived it was woefully mediocre. Perhaps this place is usually better but it was pretty bad tonight.

Come here a few times a year. Never had a bad meal. Veal saltambuca is great and the veal parm better.

The hostess tried to accommodate our group of seven adults and two children by seating us in the bar area. It was not bad however a bit awkward as we were all seated on the same side of several small individual tables. The decor was warm and comfortable though a bit dated. The service was disjointed with multiple servers coming and taking incomplete drink orders. Our server was a bit rushed and impatient. After the first round of drinks, water and bread the servers all seemed to ignore our table. We watched as the entire bar area got served bread, water, salads and main courses while we sat without water. Even after stopping a server and asking for water we still waited another 7 or 8 minutes without. When it eventually came, the food was mediocre. I ordered the Chicken Scarpiello and it was a relatively small portion with tasty mushrooms yet extremely oily. Others in my party also felt the servings were on the small side. Several small side items such as my wife's broccoli rabe and my linguine were forgotten altogether and never made it to the table. Once again the server was no where to be found. I even had to go to the hostess station to ask for the check. Our server then came back to the table to ask us for what we had ordered to drink as she had not put it on the bill. Brandywine has higher than average aspirations but you may be happier at one of the smaller, friendlier diners in the area.
