Brasa Peruvian - Review - Astoria - New York - The Infatuation

"The second NYC location of this fast-casual Peruvian franchise out of Toronto (the first is in FiDi) is now open in Astoria. Expect grain bowls and salads with Peruvian flair, featuring unique options like yellow chili pepper shrimp, apple cider and lucuma dressing, and choclo. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Molly Fitzpatrick

Today was my first time trying this place and I absolutely love it. The customer service was amazing!! Shout out to the crew helping me on 7/23/25 around 3PM. They were super helpful, welcoming, and patient. I got the hot brasa chicken and it beyond delicious. There was a lot of fresh power foods in there that helped me feel full and fueled for the rest of the day. I can’t wait to go back and try more.

This is the best food I’ve had in a very long time. The quality is A1. I felt energized and happy after every bite. The more you eat, the more you crave. It’s super healthy and tasty! I highly recommend… and I never write reviews!

This was a fantastic experience! The food is extremely delicious, the ingredients are fresh and the sauces/dressings are perfectly balanced with the food!! Honestly I didn’t have any expectations and ended up being surprised with how good this food is! Thank you everyone at Brasa, you guys are amazing.

Honestly, so solid! The food is not inexpensive but is in line with the cost of a meal these days, and the portion was very satisfying. Everything was well-seasoned and the sauce was nice, though I did feel the potatoes outshined the chicken a little. Felt good eating it. The space is very clean and nicely lit. Shout out to the staff, everyone was super nice and welcoming. Will be back to try the tofu and a smoothie.

The best bowl place I’ve been!! Amazing quality and it looks exactly like in the pictures. I had the sweet potato tofu bowl and the combination of all was just delicious!! Staff also very friendly!

This place has become my favorite in such short time! I have tried their bowls, smoothies and today the new empanadas. My favorite was the chicken one! I think it’s great to have a place close to home with such delicious, healthy options featuring Peruvian cuisine. The delivery was very fast and the food was clearly made with fresh and high quality ingredients.

Today I had a chance to attend a grand opening of a new restaurant serving Peruvian cuisine in the heart of Queens right next to the 30th Ave train station. The cutting ribbon opening ceremony was beautiful. The atmosphere was filled with joy, the food was healthy and delicious. New Yorkers made a line to try Peruvian dishes. I am a big food lover who appreciates fresh and healthy food options. I’ve been to Peruvian restaurants before. This is the best and healthiest one. The only thing I would change in the dish that I ordered ( Caesar salad with chicken ) - roasted corn. I would just not add because it wasn’t easy to chew it. I would just either not add it to the dish or made it softer. Everything else was just perfect. Next time I’ll take my good Peruvian friend Jose with me. I’m sure he’ll be happy with my restaurant choice.

This new fast-casual restaurant just opened its second NYC location here in Astoria, offering healthy, fresh options with Peruvian flavors. The menu includes smoothies, seasonal salads, and bowls (from set menu or build your own). I love that the Build-Your-Own bowl comes with unlimited toppings. You choose your base, protein, toppings, sauce, and blossoms and dips. I opted for a base of half spinach and half tri-color Peruvian quinoa, topped with marinated (ceviche-style) tuna, broccoli, cucumber, Peruvian sweety drop peppers, choclo (giant Peruvian corn), sweet potato and avocado blossoms, and Brasa dipping sauce on the side. First off, the bowl was beautifully prepared—colorful and nicely arranged (which I always appreciate—nothing worse than a bowl that looks like it was tossed together haphazardly). The sweet potato and avocado blossoms were not only visually fun and unique but also added great flavor. The choclo was another highlight—chewy, satisfying, and unlike anything you'd find at your average salad bar. Taste-wise, the bowl delivered. Everything was fresh, vibrant, and flavorful. My only gripe is that the portion of tuna was a bit small, especially for this price. Also, I wasn’t a huge fan of the sweety drop peppers, but I’m glad I gave them a try. Service was great. The staff was friendly and gave helpful advice—especially their recommendation to eat the bowl right away since the tuna was raw. While checking out, they mentioned that if you download their app, you get a free bowl after your first purchase. Definitely a reason to return!

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Sunday early afternoon. Had basically no wait time, and given it's a residential area I'd guess this spot doesn't get crazy busy I did a make your own bowl and really enjoyed it! Most of the ingredients were high quality, and overall felt like a nice way to enjoy a healthy meal while eating out The best add ons I had were the sweet potato blossom (basically sweet potato with whipped cream texture) the toasted corn and giant corn, along with the hot pepper and lime sauce The proteins I had were the chicken and chili pepper tofu. Those were the only items in the bowl that didn't come across as high quality. The tofu in particular was quite hard and lacking in flavor. However both were saved by the sauces and other add ins Highly recommend giving this place a try if you find yourself in the area!

Yelp
Passed by this place a couple of times and finally decided to walk in for a quick healthy lunch. I got a chicken bowl with some guacamole, broccoli, carrots, beets, etc. The taste itself was pretty good, the portion could use a little work (some more protein would've been nice given the price). Other than that, the place itself is spacious, plenty of dine-in spots and was clean. I could see myself stopping here again and possibly trying another item on the menu (the smoothies look good).

Yelp
4.5 stars Loved my bowl! I used their app to build my bowl for $16.45.. I chose seasoned rice and roasted potatoes as my base. I added broccoli, golden beets, mint cucumber, salsa criolla, queso fresco, raw carrots, big corn, sweety drop peppers and toasted Peruvian corn. I also added both avocado and sweet potato blossoms with the rocoto lime dressing. I also got a tuna ceviche bowl as well and I shared both with L. Both bowls were good but my custom bowl had a ton of stuff and it was great. I like my food fresh and not full of processed chemicals or salt.. this was so good. Not greasy or too salty and there was a good amount of beef in my bowl. I liked all the ingredients I added.. and L is really into the lil peppers lately so I added them for him. The sweet potato blossoms were delicious, added a lil sweetness.. I don't normally go to Astoria but lately I've been in the area.. I'd def come back to get this exact bowl. It just tasted like real food that was tasty and healthier than most restaurants nowadays... The tuna ceviche, I didn't get custom made, so it didn't come with that much stuff but it was only $13.25. Came with avocado & sweet potato blossoms, red onions, 2 types of corn and ...quinoa as the base. Tasted healthy. I actually do like quinoa. L would've liked just a lil more tuna of course but the food seemed like it was good quality. The place was very clean. The lady who made my bowl was very precise in a good way. We also tried this mango soda. I don't drink soda... I only had a sip.. eh. I had my own water... 2 bowls and a drink was around $35. We were full and felt great after the meal.

Yelp
This place is new and it's always busy when I've passed by! It's clean and the food is fresh! I think it's a great addition to Astoria, they have bowls, salads, smoothies ... you can build your own bowl or salad custom to how you like. The service was excellent and the man who was taking my order was so friendly and kind!! Amazing. My salad was yummy and I'm looking forward to going back and trying the beef next time, it looked so good!! Def worth checking out and the prices are totally reasonable, my bowl was big! 14.95$ per bowl

Yelp
This a new place that just opened up. It is very clean and organized. The napkins ran out and the worker immediately filled it up. They have to go bags available already on the side to grab. They even have a restroom even though there were only maybe 8-10 seats. It was really clean as well. The amount of food you receive is a lot, my total came out to $20 for my food and a drink. Rahiem my server was extremely kind, respectful, polite, and patient. I wanted to give him a tip, but I was told they can't accept tips, which is confusing to me since so many cafes and other places ask for tips where I don't n think it's necessary. The food was delicious and it's easy to try many options.

Yelp
Literally two bites of beef, some yellow rice, lettuce and a few pieces of steamed broccoli were the contents of our half filled beef bowl that cost $15. We asked for the lime/rococo sauce on the side, and got something resembling pureed avocado. Off to a poor start. Can improve portion size and flavor for sure.
