21 Great Paris Restaurants That Are Actually Open On Mondays - Paris - The Infatuation

"Step off the Eurostar and straight into this new-wave brasserie, where a three-course menu costs less than a main at the old-guard spots. The dizzying décor—colorful wallpaper and deco-inspired chandeliers—are indicative of the maximalist approach to revamping the classics. Leek-vinaigrette departs from its typically soft-on-soft texture, with deeply charred leeks piled high with bitter greens, toasted nuts, and bronze croutons the color of autumn leaves at the Luxembourg gardens. The ultra-rich French onion soup may well be Paris' best, with a hint of port and a generous blanket of gooey Comté cheese. On weekends, don't miss the roast chicken to share, served with a mountain of crispy frites perfect for dragging through all that rich jus. Reservations are tough to snag, but only because they keep so many of the red velvet chairs open to walk-ins. In fair weather, enjoy a cocktail made exclusively with French spirits on the outdoor terrace while you wait." - emily monaco

Walking up to the restaurant I could see that it was crowded after 9 pm on a Sunday. There was no tables available so reluctantly I agreed to sit at the bar. Was that a good decision. I got live entertainment watching a team seamlessly work together with incredible timing. Everything is hand prepared and presented with style. There were so many choices of enticing starters that I ordered too many. I now must return to try more mains. The cocktails were impressive and were photo quality in presentation second only to the desserts. A “must return” in Paris.

I had a great late dinner at Brassiere Bellanger (around 9:30 PM) - we did not have reservations and were seated immediately for a party of 2. We had the green bean salad, duck hearts, duck, steak, chocolate mousse, and Paris brest and loved everything. The service was friendly to English speakers and we were sat at the counter so we enjoyed watching the kitchen in action. Definitely a great spot for having some classic French foods.

Google
10/10! Paris was my first ever solo trip, I went for dinner alone at Brasserie Ballanger and my waiter was so attentive. I’m assuming he could sense I was nervous to be alone and he made my whole experience so soothing. I didn’t get his name unfortunately but it was 9/10 @7:30pm. The food was fabulous and everything arrived very quickly. I have already booked to return to your wonderful city and will definitely pay Brasserie Ballanger another visit! Merci beaucoup 🥰

Google
Lively atmosphere and charming. Incredible food and, some classic and great house specialties. Very affordable, especially for Paris. Servers were very friendly. Seemed like many locals dine here. The Leeks and Duck heart skewer were divine!

Google
This place is a real gem! It offers everything you hope for in a classic French brasserie: friendly, efficient service from the moment you walk in, all the classic dishes well prepared and a buzzing atmosphere in which everyone has their spot. Even when it is completely full, the staff are kind and attentive, and the kitchen works like clockwork (observed from my spot at the counter). And all at very acceptable prices. So forget all the tourist traps and so called “big names” and treat yourself to this classic!

Google
Wonderful, almost 'American Diner' joint. VERY popular with the locals so you know it's good food. Their specialty is Steak Frites and I agree; it's just perfect. Just a block or so from Gare du Nord.

Google
Great food and friendly staff that speak English. Had an amazing dinner the first night in Paris. Highly recommend the duck dish! Also love their bathroom wallpaper and interesting faucet.

Google
Brasserie Bellanger was excellent. On our visit Ms. Lucillia, the manager was most friendly as were all of the staff. Efficient, friendly, delicious food. Lots of options. Make a reservation and you won’t have to wait, or drop in and they will seat as fast as possible. One of our favs when French family style seems appropriate. A great place.

Yelp
Food - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Ambiance - 5/5 Was recommended this place by on a walking tour and we decided to stop by for dinner and it was so great! Both the duck and fish were perfectly executed and the wine list suited our needs well. We wanted to come back for the Paris Brest since we were too full the day we came but be warned they are closed on Mondays! Hope to return on another trip to Paris!

Yelp
So we came here to finally have real French food as we've been getting everything but French. I found this place through Yelp and Google to check prices etc. I called and the hostess said they were fully booked however I could walk in if I came at 7. So we walked the 2 miles to the restaurant. We then met our waiter Felix. Felix was very nice and helpful and spoke very good English. We ordered the onion soup, then Felix recommended the duck for me which comes pink and the sausage for my wife. The soup came first which honestly was the best onion soup I've ever had. Very cheesy, and thick but it was thick with bread being soaked. It was extremely tasty. We then got our duck and sausage. To be honest I thought it would be bigger. That would be my only gripe. It was very moist, not try, tasty and delicious. The Lima beans and potatoes that came with were also good. My wife's sausage was good along with the mash potatoes. Felix then sold us on the Paris Berit or whatever that was. And let me tell you. That was amazing. Think like thin sliced cookie bagel with cream in the middle. Delicious!!! I also ordered the homemade lemonade which wasn't sweet and I Could have done without. Everything was good.

Yelp
Found Brasserie Bellanger on Yelp and been here twice for dinner this week. The first time, we were lucky to have been seated at the bar to see/watch as the cooks performed their ballet (per the website). We compared what sounded good based on descriptions with our server's recs and here's what we ended up with: * Asperges Blanches au Barbecue = Barbecued White Asparagus. This was outstanding. The flavors from the lemon vinaigrette, sage and poultry jus were addicting. * Magret de Canard Rôti et Poires = Roasted Duck Breast with Pears. This was tasty but I would have preferred if the skin was crispy. * Pêche du Moment = Catch of the day. Hubs enjoyed the white fish special of the day. * "Homemade" Lemon Iced Tea = nice presentation but I prefer Cafe Ventura's better. When you order, specify if you want the canned version or homemade. This place is popular and gets packed so make sure to come early and/or before dinner peak hours. The second time was last night after our visit to M'O (Musée d'Orsay). After standing on our feet all afternoon, we figured we deserved a good meal and Bellanger was a .7 mile walk. This time, there were no available seats inside but luckily for us, there was one table outside. It was a good experience to dine al fresco although it got chilly towards the end. We ordered the following: * Volaille Farcie à Partager = Stuffed Chicken to share for 2. You must order this! Beautiful presentation and generous portion of half chicken stuffed with olives and candied lemons, smothered in Grenoble sauce with capers, lemon juice and black croutons. Served with pomme croquette à la Lyonnaise and sour cream. * Poireaux Vinagrette = Leeks with Vinaigrette. The house favorite with homemade dressing, black croutons and roasted hazelnuts. Overall, an amazing experience. Exceptional home-cooked and seasonal cuisine plus great service both times!

Yelp
A very busy place with a fairly small menu I was very pleased with the grilled duck hearts and the skirt steak and frites. My wife's choices of the leek appetizer and the stuffed pepper entree were not as good for obvious reasons. Choose wisely and enjoy!

Yelp
Good French restaurant in Paris! I passed by this restaurant multiple times and it was always packed. Location: It is located around at the corner of Rue de Dunkerque. There is a lot of seating inside and outside. I sat outside cause I'm in Paris and this how Parisian do. Hehe Service: they were nice. No complaints even give me recommendations. They allowed me to sit even the kitchen opens 12. (I was there 11:30) Food: I was by myself so I ordered only 1 starter and 1 main course. AUVERGINE SNAILS: there are 6 snails, the snails was cooked properly. The snail butter is a little bit salty for my tasting. Its better to spread it on the bread. GRILLED FLANK STEAK: the steak itself is a little tough and gamy, not sure if that it's supposed to be. I ordered both bearnaise sauce and maitre d hotel butter for extra 1 euro. For real they compliment each other with the steak and fries. Price rating: 7/10. Its going to be expensive because you are in Paris. Definitely will come back to try other food on their menu. I loved to sit down outside and just experience eating in Paris.

Yelp
What an incredible gem! Reviews online did not steer us wrong, this was our last meal in Paris and I've been dreaming about it ever since. We barely had to wait for our table and it was well worth it! Our server spoke English and gave us incredible recommendations. Starters: Truffle Saucisson and Leeks with Vinaigrette Mains: Spring Duck Magret and Beef Flank Steak Dessert: Paris Brest The prices were very comparable to other places but the quality and taste of the food was 10x better. The ingredients for all their dishes were so fresh, seasonal and cooked to perfection. I will be telling everyone that's going to Paris to make a stop here!

Yelp
Ordered the steak and frites with garlic butter and it was delicious. Staff was friendly and spoke English. They do seem to have a wait time so give yourself some time.

Tom W.

Yelp
Great place on the street and next to a park. Had happy hour drinks (6-8) and watched the city walk by. We were in Paris 3 days and came back to this gem. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This was the best meal i've ever had in my life. The service was phenomenal and everyone was so kind. We started with a glass of wine and ate the escargot and duck heart which were both amazing. For the main dish we had the beef tartare, and for dessert we finished with affogato and a cigarette. Sitting outdoor with the beautiful architecture around us just made the experience that much better. With the quality of the courses we were expecting a hefty bill but the total was well worth the experience . 10/10 if you have the opportunity you MUST eat here.

Yelp
One of the most amazing onion soups in the city where it was invented. Rich broth capped by delicious melted comte cheese. Service was efficient and friendly, and the vibe was energetic in the bustling brasserie. The bread was fresh and served warm. A great spot, highly recommended.

Yelp
Very tasty food at great price! Busy restaurant and service can be slow, but we got an offer for free dessert, so no complaints there.
google avatar

Liza C.

Yelp
We arrived at 5:30 but were told we couldn't order food til 7, so not sure if that's normal or not. We came back at 7 since I read the reviews and was set on going. Great service, seems to get busy fast. I had a spritz to drink, leaks with vinaigrette, and skirt steak with fries. We also got an order of country terrine. I really enjoyed the leaks very flavor, steak and fries were nothing to write home about. Fair price for what we got. Just lacked a bit of flavor in my opinion.
google avatar

Jackie C.

Yelp
Had a great experience here! The steak was cooked perfectly and full of flavor, and the Bloody Mary was one of the best I've had--so tasty! And OMG the onion soup was delicious! The service was excellent; the staff was friendly, attentive, and very accommodating.

Yelp
Flavors - 4.5/5 Textures - 4.5/5 Presentation - 4.5/5 Value for Money - 4/5 I loved this place! Excellent quality and the prices are so good. Great for french classics Terrine: they make their own and it was delicious. Loved the pairing with the pickles and mustard, and the crusty bread was solid. Escargot: very tasty classic scargot. I wish each scargot was bigger. Also got the steak frites - splendid. Super tasty beef, perfectly cooked with crispy fries. Some of the fries were soggy though. Great sauce. Beef tartar - amazing, one of the best I've had. So many layers of flavor I never got tired of eating. Even the side salad was nicely dressed.

Akiko I.

Yelp
- Locale Destination - It's located in the middle of everything. Convenient location. Ambiance: classy, old school, neighborhood cafe Service: Some speak English, but a lot friendlier for the locals than tourists. But I got some nice ones. Menu: typical, solid, not too many bistro items. Price: glass wine 6-8€, appetizers 7-14€, entree 15-20€. Portion: not too small, perfect - Gluttony Expedition - Red wine: decent Beef tartare with French fries: too acid on the salad, tartare was a bit acidic side and light with a good portion as an entree. Decent. Fries were supposed to be the best but not really. Cooked well, small portions, a bit saltier side for me. Bread: very good - Conqueror's Deduction - 3.5 stars. Many people ordered a steak. For the price, it's solid. Blown away? Not really.

Yelp
Food: This has to be one of my favorite restaurants in Paris that we've been to. Their flank steak with perfectly rare and their garlic parsley butter complimented the steak so well. Their french fries were SO addicting and flavorful and this is coming from someone that doesn't even like them in general! I honestly could not stop eating them. Also, their snails and beef tartare had amazing flavor and seasoning. Everything we ordered was perfectly seasoned and had amazing flavors! Definitely the French food experience we were looking for! Service: Our waiter was one of the kindest and most attentive waiters we've had! We definitely didn't experience any "typical/rude" French service that France is typically known for. Ambiance: Felt like a cozy diner experience with high-quality food! It also seemed like a favorite for locals.

Yelp
A great restaurant with amazing vibes, food, and service. It is my last night in paris and I haven't had escargot yet. After doing yelp research, i noticed the great ratings this restaurant had so it was a no brainer. The escargot was drenched in the best sauce ever. I felt as though I could drink it. ALSO, i would like to mention that this is the only restaurant I have been to here that had spicy hot sauce. Overall, I am a huge fan and 10/10 would recommend this restaurant!
google avatar

Yelp
/)/) ( . .) ( づ wouldn't really recommend. My steak and fries were soooo dry. Even though I ordered medium rare it came out more done than rare and super dry and chewy. The fries were too oily. The fish of the day was delicious though! But tiny portion for that price they're asking. Staff was very busy. We had to wait an hour for seating and another hour for our food. They kept on saying couple more mins but turnt out they meant 70 mins by that...not very good hospitality. But the vibe is nice.

Raphael ..

Yelp
I was disappointed by the fish of the day and the leek starter. Service was fine. I ordered the fish of the day. It was tuna. The sauce, a fish reduction cream sauce, was tasty. But the fish itself is dry-the breading too heavy for fish. I have had much better French food in San Francisco.

Yelp
This place was amazing- Exquisite From the food to the service to the atmosphere Everything was absolutely amazing

Anna N.

Yelp
Delicious food and great ambiance. We ordered the duck and it was well cooked and the vegetable was fresh. Waiters were very attentive.

Yelp
This busy place only had seats up at the counter, but we loved being able to watch all the bustling behind the scenes - had a good feeling about this place and it was spot on! Everything is made from scratch, everyone seemed on top of and enjoying what they were doing, being a chef myself it was quite delightful and everything was delicious!

Brian P.

Yelp
Perfect bistro lunch sitting on the street. Had the catch of the day, tuna, perfect unexpectedly complex dish
google avatar

Evan D.

Yelp
Made it back and it was as delicious as always. I still can't get around to order anything but the amazing grilled leaks in a delicious hazelnut vinaigrette followed by the homemade sausage with perfect mashed potatoes but my wife did enjoy the steak frites as well as some Breton oysters. Service is French so slow and sort of absentee but the ambiance is really lively and pleasant. Love the place.

Joseph M.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch & it was amazing! The French onion soup/broth was out of this world. Oysters were SO fresh! Beef tare tare was some of the best we've had in Paris. Also got the flank steak with bearnaise sauce and it was cooked perfectly and delicious. Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Yelp
Delish. Chill vibe. Staff was very friendly and the service was good - Although they messed my martini the first time around. But the second time was great!

Laura F.

Yelp
Awesome service. Delicious steak frites for my granddaughter. It hit the spot. I loved the onion soup. Very savory. Again, the service was outstanding and so was the food.

Yelp
Got here at 11:30 on a Wednesday. They don't start serving lunch until 12. So they let us sit. But then you wait. I was grateful. We've had a hell of a travel day. They start taking orders before 12. And it doesn't take long for it to be fixed. I wasn't real hungry. I got the leaks vinaigrette. They had good flavor. But I kept getting a gritty texture like sand. The thought of not being washed enough makes it hard to finish. Hubs got the sausage and mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes and gravy were great. Sausage was a little too dry. Crème brûlée was on point! Don't miss this opportunity. Very realistic price too. The people are friendly. It's a quaint well established business. The bathroom is downstairs, and I highly recommend you going even if you don't need to go. LOL. I always say I'm going to travel the world searching out bathrooms. Pay attentions to the panties and tidy Whities
google avatar

Yobany C.

Yelp
The escargot was spectacular. The decor, crowd and waiting service exceptional. Elderflower spritz was like no other.

Yelp
This is one of the best restaurants I have been to in Paris! The duck was amazing and the muscles! The waiter was very helpful when it came to recommending a wine and the manager was so sweet and welcoming! I highly recommend Brasserie Bellanger!
google avatar

Rylan C.

Yelp
Absolutely one of the best places to eat in Paris. If you're looking for a hip twist on a classic French Brasserie, this is the place to go. Not only is their restaurant inside a fun atmosphere, their outdoor seating is abundant and fun as well. My group had various sardine starters, herring, and pate. For my main, I got the classic steak frites. It was delicious and was cooked medium and was a skirt steak cut which also meant there would be a chew to it (just a little) because of the cut. But some how it also was still tender and easy to chew. And most importantly, it was very flavorful. This was our last meal in Paris for our week-long trip and this was the best way to do it as it was just a classic French Brasserie. It's also on a quieter street in an otherwise very busy part of Paris (close to Gare du Nord and Montmartre). Our server, Theo (or Teo?), was also pretty amazing. Having been in Paris as both a tourist and resident, I always tell my American friends and family who visit with me that the French service is definitely not going to be what you're used to in the US. However, I don't know what it was, but this most recent visit just changed my opinion on that completely. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, we encountered this time around was just super welcoming and helpful. Our experience at this restaurant just capped it off perfectly for us as our server was just perfect. He was fun, happy, helpful, attentive, and just overall made our experience pretty great! From what we could tell, every single server we encountered was amazing. Highly recommend!

Jeff O.

Yelp
We tried tonight (Sat) at 8ish for two and there was a 45 minute wait so we walked around looking for something else, but walked back to Brasserie Bellanger.best decision ever. The food, the drinks and the staff were excellent. We sat at the bar, in front of the apps prep station and watched each dish leave the kitchen. Our choices were spring duck and sausage and mash. Both were delicious, my only regret was not ordering the flank steak and fries that looked amazing. We finished with a small dessert and the bill with a few drinks was 77€, which was much less than I expected. We have a few pubs in the US that have great scratch kitchens, but this one is up high on the list in Paris. The staff was attentive and extremely helpful, especially with our brutal attempt at communicating in French. It was clear that all were concerned that we and the other guests had a top notch experience as it showed in their service and presentation. We will be returning before we leave Paris.

Mark S.

Yelp
I understand that everyone wants to see food, but, it was just so good that all I can share is another satisfied customer. Maybe, you should just come by and try for yourself; hopefully your plates will be as clean as ours were by meals end.
google avatar

Will F.

Yelp
Cute spot with great service, music and food. The oeuf mayo weren't the best, but they're weeent terrible. Just average. The hampe du boeuf was great, and so was the bearnaise. Dish was handed over the counter by the chef herself and she then hooked fit up with some extra bread and mayo for the frites. That just added to the already perfect vibe - the staff really stands out. Finally the one selection is great and I went for the Grenache de Gres. I will come back. And so should you. It's a good time.

Carylon D.

Yelp
Our servicer was what made us decide to eat there! But the food was amazing, my daughter had French onions soup, I had duck with potatoes, all the pallets in my mouth was awaken! The ambience was a crowed, but that's because I American and not use to such close seating!
google avatar

Keilon L.

Yelp

Kary M.

Yelp
I reserved the best experience for my final evening in Paris. This bustling bistro boasts an exceptionally attentive staff, including the host, server, cooks, and the outstanding pastry chef, who crafts exquisite pastries that simply melt in your mouth. The seating was limited but the atmosphere was pleasant and bookings can be made in advance; I wish I had more time to return.
google avatar

Sarah D.

Yelp
Had an excellent dinner here during my trip to Paris, possibly the best of the trip. Atmosphere is chic and lively, I sat at the counter which was a fun experience. Had the catch of the day and it was incredible, perfectly cooked and such complex flavors and textures in the sauce. For dessert had the Paris Brest, as I'd heard it was to die for. I'll be honest, it didn't wow me but it was good. Service was great, they had an English menu and were friendly and on top of everything.

Jack S.

Yelp
Delicious pastries and coffee at reasonable prices. The fresh croissants are buttery and they have sandwiches, pizza, etc..
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
Great ambiance, a traditional brasserie but ever so slightly contemporary. Food was delicious. I had the steak, salad, red wine, and creme brulee. Loved watching the pastry chef at work.
google avatar

Tristan J.

Yelp
This was a perfect first meal in Paris. We were a group of 5 and we were seated very quickly despite the restaurant looking pretty crowded. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and made sure to answer any questions we had about the menu. We had a table indoors but we were right next to the opening to the outside so it almost felt like we were eating outside. All of our dishes were just about perfect and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

Al K.

Yelp
Amazing Brasserie! This has been so far the best food we had in Paris. We saw this place in the YouTube videos of the 'Les Frenchies' travel show.. You definitely need a reservation. It was crowded and very popular when we had lunch.. we have tried many different small plates and one main plate and shared everything. Everything was delicious. Among the small plates my favorite were the auvergne snails and the pissaldiere (confit onion tart). The lamb was out of this world and highly recommended. For the dessert, I would recommend the Paris-Brest. Restrooms were downstairs and very clean. The service was amazing as well. Our server was very friendly and helped us with the menu. I read some people said the service was slow; to me the service was neither slow nor fast. If you are in Paris you need to spend the time to enjoy the good food.. If I have the chance to come back to Paris, I would definitely come back to Brasserie Belanger.
google avatar

Melissa Z.

Yelp
Love this place - ate here by myself around 1:30 on a Thursday and it didn't seem like they took reservations and plenty of places to sit. I got the sardines appetizer and sausage plate and everything was wonderful as well as reasonably priced

Yelp
Favorite restaurant on our family trip to Paris. The service was amazing and the food was even better. Definitely a must try, you won't regret it.

Yelp
Delicious food, very familiar ambiance and the service was great too. Hoping to visit again soon.

Yelp
Food was fantastic. Had the Cordon Bleu and it was amazing. Only downside was the wait, including after we were sat.

Bella P.

Yelp
One of the best French bistros I've been to. Simple menu done well...plus great service, hip staff and music(ie rap, reggaeton) gave it a trendy/modern vibe. The manager waited on us, he recommended the duck breast and a hazelnut dessert...both were excellent...the steak and frites and Cesar Salad was also solid...for drinks I had a St. Germaine spritz that was also really yummy...10/10 would recommend.

Everything you want and need and look for in a dining experience. PAR. FAIT!!!! (perfect). Merci Brasserie Bellanger!!

Yelp
Sensational French classics. We ate here FOUR times, as it seemed better to eat down the menu than to try to find a better place. Nothing disappointed. Sit at the bar for the view of everything being made. It's quite the show.
