Best Anticipated New NYC Restaurant Openings, Fall 2025 | Eater NY

"After nearly two decades anchoring the Upper West Side with Bar Boulud, Boulud Sud, and Épicerie Boulud, Daniel Boulud is consolidating them into one grand new brasserie in collaboration with the Rockwell Group, a morning-to-night venue spanning 7,500 square feet across two floors with a central bar, an intimate speakeasy, and private dining rooms." - Melissa McCart

I had a most delicious dinner buffet here a few days back. The menu was slightly limited but the tastes were truly awesome freshness and quality. They had a live pasta station also. I liked the service with a smile , though in buffet it was needed less. Still the servers inquired about my eating experience and supplying me with additional cutleries which were of high quality. The mains were equally good as starters and the desserts were also too good. The interiors were superb with bright light and feeling of openness with natural surroundings including small trees! I loved it so much. Highly recommended.

A very pleasant lunch at Brasserie Bouloud. Food was delightful. We opted for one business lunch, for 3 courses at AED 175, and two of us ate a la carte. Escargot was very tasty as were the raclette burgers. The lamb cutlets were a highlight, as were the desserts of chocolate fondant and meringue desserts. Service was warm and friendly, though a little inattentive as we had to summon our waiter three times by waving, despite there being only 3 other tables. Also - we couldn’t help noticing the very dusty chandeliers hanging above us, which gave us a bit of concern for the overall cleanliness and hygiene.

Warmly greeted by front of house, Sabina and was looking forward to my dinner. However, the service was downhill after that and certainly not what I would expect. There was zero small talk, I felt abandoned by my waiter Maria after taking my drinks order - glass of champagne which took a very long time even though the restaurant only had two tables at the time. Champagne was flat as a pancake… this made me a little apprehensive but still hoping things would turnaround. I was now being served by John, who eventually after a long time plucked up the courage to ask me how my stay was so far, it didn’t really feel that genuine but I appreciated the effort Oysters arrived and were excellent Escargots were slightly mushy and overcooked and the foam a bit too sweet instead of moorish At that point my water remained sadly empty for ages until the maitre D’ appeared and refilled it asking if I was ready for my mains I asked for a little time as the oysters and escargots were too fast literally back to back Had the lamb for mains, which was good although morels were very sweet Served by…. Sabina with smiles and warmth but I found it odd that front of house was roped in to serve when the restaurant wasn’t that busy No one asked me how the food was…(wondering now about that no longer michelin star) It seemed to me the floor service needed more organising and maybe more warmth and training? Also the chefs definitely changed from 7:15 and then at 8pm, so wondering if that made a difference to the food. There were a lot of staff at the pass at one point I had brilliant service in Sofitel’s other restaurant Taiko (exceptional maitre D’ Louis and waiter Evan) the evening before so I was sad to end my stay on such a sour note at Brasserie Boulud I skipped out on dessert… not because I didn’t want it I was finally talked to very briefly when paying the bill (and deciding what to tip) by Maria. The service wasn’t awful, it was just cold, matter of fact and not what you’d expect at this establishment.

Very good food. But service is kind of slow for the French cuisine. LOL

I am sorry about the negative review... but honestly this was one of my worst dining experiences in a long time. 1. This is my 3rd visit, the place is always almost empty. It's in the second story of a hotel, so dull. Nice decor but cold and boring. 2. Service is ok. The waiters are nice and courteous, but they disappear and it's so hard to call one of them. The food went cold by the time we were able to ask for salt/pepper. 3. The food is the reason for the 1- 2 stars. What a shame. We were six and we ordered a lot of food. I had suggested the restaurant to the group and it was embarrassingly bad. The escargots had not taste, the tartare was so liquid and loose, the scallops were the only ok app. I had the sole as main course, Sole with Artichokes, also so disappointing with a useless caviar sauce (to justify the 220 dirham). Again, I hate to put very bad reviews, but this a very sincere one. This is what happens when big names celebrity chefs teach the staff, turn their back and move to the other lucrative project.

A hidden gem; the food is outstanding and very creative. We had Iftar here (third year in a row) and in terms of the quality of the food on offer, it is better than 99% of places in Dubai. It seems that relatively few people know about the place and so it is never overcrowded. Service is impeccable.
