New Rosemont Microbrewery Beauregard Will Focus Exclusively on Dark Beers | Eater Montreal

"Right in time for winter, I'm reporting on a new microbrewery in Rosemont that opens this weekend, brewing entirely dark beers. Beauregard Brasserie will fling open its doors on Saturday with at least four beers barrelled up and ready to taste, and while stouts and porters are front and centre here the brewery is using the robustness of those styles as a vehicle for experimentation rather than sticking to classics. That lineup includes a peanut milk stout (7.5% alcohol), a more classic dry stout that’s lighter on bitterness and alcohol, a Baltic Porter, and a full-bodied choco-hazelnut imperial stout, though for the opening only the dry stout and the porter will be available. The brewery has nabbed an industrial spot on Dandurand near Iberville and is throwing a grand opening Saturday afternoon with take-home beers for sale; it’s not a bar, so only tastings are on offer. Regular hours are Saturdays from 1 to 6 p.m." - Tim Forster

Always a good time at Beauregard. Went with a large group of 15 as part of a food tour and we were welcomed within less than an hour of their closing time on Saturday. If you’ve never been, there’s free tastings on Saturdays from 12-6. Their beer is great, you’ll be buying several cans on the way out. They specialize in gourmet pastry stouts, but they have been diversifying in recent years. We had a great time and the owner is super nice too! Don’t go on an empty stomach!

If you like dark beers then this is the brewery for you. We tried the Latte Praline from a grocery store and decided we must go straight to the source. This isn't a bar, but they have cans and bottles to go. The Triple Coco was also incredible. Friendly and helpful too. Can't recommend them enough.

THE BEST STOUT IN CANADA. I have been drinking stout, specifically stout, for 10 years, all around the world, Russian, American, English, whatever country you name for a great stout. Beauregard's is comparable to the best stouts of those countries, and definitely the best in Canada.

Great little brewery off the beaten path but I definitely recommend checking it out. These guys are brewing some interesting things as well as unique twists on classic styles.
