"Right in time for winter, I'm reporting on a new microbrewery in Rosemont that opens this weekend, brewing entirely dark beers. Beauregard Brasserie will fling open its doors on Saturday with at least four beers barrelled up and ready to taste, and while stouts and porters are front and centre here the brewery is using the robustness of those styles as a vehicle for experimentation rather than sticking to classics. That lineup includes a peanut milk stout (7.5% alcohol), a more classic dry stout that’s lighter on bitterness and alcohol, a Baltic Porter, and a full-bodied choco-hazelnut imperial stout, though for the opening only the dry stout and the porter will be available. The brewery has nabbed an industrial spot on Dandurand near Iberville and is throwing a grand opening Saturday afternoon with take-home beers for sale; it’s not a bar, so only tastings are on offer. Regular hours are Saturdays from 1 to 6 p.m." - Tim Forster
