I've been meaning to come here for its famous burgers and sandwiches, until I finally was bale to come after a long night out. The space is really cute, like an old-fashioned sports dive bar that is well kept, cleaned & put together. With tons of TV with all the sports you may be interested in. Music is not too loud & good service. The digital menu did not have all the burger choices, but the waiter provided us with the standard menu, which did have 4 or 5 options. The burgers were really good. Meat felt like needed some seasoning, but the overall bite was full in flavor. Also had the boneless chicken wings, BBQ, so yummy and crunchy. The waiter was very helpful with choosing a beer and nailed it. Def would like to come here for another hangover 🙃. And Def recommended whatever ypu live in the area or not. Cheers to the bravest.

This is a simple and cozy pub. It was pretty quiet when we arrived on Thursday afternoon. They have a generous happy hour deal on draft beers - $3 off. The IPA I had was delicious. The nachos were very good. It seemed that the staff was familiar with a lot of the patrons. The food looked and smelled very appetizing. They have a lot of TV's around. I would definitely come back here.

I am compelled to write this review because of the ridiculous experience I had. I wanted what is known as a patty melt, so I asked for a grilled cheese and add the patty. The waitress insisted that I had to buy the cheeseburger AND the grilled cheese orders because they could not add a patty to the grilled cheese. We also paid extra for an order of fries. Which is so odd that fries do not come with a burger. The burger was not good and I ate barely a quarter of it. The waitress never came over to see how things were or if we needed anything. This place charged me $24 for a grilled cheese with a patty on it. Could’ve gone to five guys and paid 1/4 of this and it would’ve tasted 100x better. We were also sat at a table by the kitchen which we were told is the only spot because I had my 16 year old nephew with me. The constant jostling into us as the waitress went by was excessive. They shouldn’t have a table there at all. So disappointed in the food and the experience. So many better places to go to and spend $60 plus rip. Quite ballsy to charge these prices for subpar food and a hateful customer experience. $24 for a bad patty melt, this place should be embarrassed. How can your staff not know how to charge for an extra burger patty???

I've been living in this neighborhood and was a fan of this bar for 7 years. I would usually visit 2-3 times per week. It was a relaxed, friendly atmosphere among customers, really good food, great drinks, best bartenders, no frills hangout. Not anymore. The new owners removed some items from the menu and the remaining items are mostly overly fried, greasy and nasty when served. The bartenders pour the weakest drinks and are not capable of efficiently handling the customers. No one cares about trivia night, immature games, or loud BS that interfere with neighborhood people gathering to have a good time so please stop implementing this childish nonsense. It's not a frat house. Actually, it's turning into one now. In the summer, there is no air conditioning and they don't have fans or open the windows. These owners need a reality check..stop trying to fluff the place up. It worked wonderfully before so if it's not broke, dont fix it. You've already failed miserably

The Bravest is a bar, and non - gastronomic pub restaurant dedicated to those that serve as NY Fire Department, and other public service jobs. It seems to have a familiar staff that knows its customers. We went on Won Ton Wednesday by chance to enjoy a $5 bowl of soup (which was actually $7 for won ton shrimp - price needs to be updated from the sign outside), and service was friendly, quick, and kind, despite our very small order. The atmosphere was nice with large TVs broadcasting sports shows. I would recommend. $$ out of $$$$$

We had a great time with our friends celebrating birthday. The atmosphere felt great and chill where you can enjoy conversation with friends, even other customers, and the bartenders. A big shout out to (James) the bartender for awesome service. The food was fresh and crispy. The only drawback is the bathroom’s size which is very small to fit a person and keep the door closed.

Solid NYC pub with really good food. The fries and buffalo chicken wrap were excellent.

Went there to watch the Knick vs Philly game 5. Granted we lost but it was still a great time. Bar vibes nice and with. Great crowd. . A lot of local visit the bar frequently. Give me cheers vibes but modern day. A lot of great people (unfortunately you can't please everyone like the review. The REVIEW before mine. She was upset because she was the only one who wanted to watch the bucks game...THIS IS NYC. Also ALL customers in the bar said no. HOWEVER, the nice bartender put the game in but not the sound... WHY!?!?... because multiple people... low key everyone... asked for music. Is it right to judge a bar due to your short coming like for rain and bee spiking what not???. I'll rest) Would definitely go back. Music depends on the bar tender. Most of the bar tender are in their LATE 20 to mid MID 30sss. So you looking at R&b, HipHop, top pop. FOOD SLAPPED Great experience.

Bravest just fc*ked me in the ass. I have lived next door for three years and I used to go in for a beer n burger, some wings, but after tonight I will never ever go back in there... I mean I want a burger but shit. Screw bravest. They must be brave charging $40 for 16 wings cuz where I'm from that's fuel for starting a fire, not fighting one. I'll piss on the place if I ever see a flame though. I love their wings n burgers, I even like the vibe a lotta the time but you're out of your dead gods mind charging me this much. Charge a dollar take out fee too; I tipped but should have left em with the damn dollar.

Wanted to love this place. Went for happy hour dollar wings. Ordered 30. Should have been $30. NOPE! Bartender "accidentally" got the order wrong and charged us for the non happy hour wings. Who the hell orders non happy hour wings during happy hour. Ended up paying $90. For wings. Never going back. Hope they enjoy the extra $60 they got. Would have spent much more in the future.

Spent almost $100 while enjoying the playoffs. I decided to stay and enjoy the next game (NOT A KNICKS GAME) and then corny music was put on. NOW ITS POURING, UBERS HAVE SPIKED, AND IM STUCK LISTENING TO 2004 HipHop. I had no idea that there's no sound for games unless it's the KNICKS PLAYING. Not cool

My only issue with the place was the service I received. The waiter for our party gave us extra soda and we were ignored while sending it back. Additionally, we were charged for an extra drink (Woodbridge) and one of the drinks being mislabeled in the receipt, we did not order champagne which isn't offered in the menu. Overall, it caused a collective extra cost of around $16. Despite the service, I have nothing else but praise for the food and it's definitely worth it just for that. We loved the tenders from this place. The inside is nice if you want to eat in, just remember to take a closer look at the receipt.

Came here for a brunch and the food did not disappoint. Hamburger is decent and we loved the fries which were very fresh. The service was excellent. Very friendly and prompt.

I recently converted one of my best friend to root for the one true NY NFL team, the Buffalo Bills. This place is really close to her so she became a regular and told me I had to come. I went for a Bills game and it is such a great spot! They had cheap beers and $1 buffalo wings (a special for the game). The wings really did Buffalo proud. The place was absolutely packed. My friend went 30 minutes before to see if we could get a table and we had to stand. It was a post season game, but I'd definitely try to go early for a table if you go for a game day!

This is one of our favorite bars and our local to go place. They have amazing wings and even better than their wings it's their burgers! This is a Bills bar for the Buffalo Bills fans and they stream all their games. Make sure to reserve a table because it gets packed and the atmosphere is amazing!

Always loved bravest. Just came in for my favorite meal, the buffalo cauliflower, and was told they're out of cauliflower and might be getting rid of it permanently. What a loss. Don't do it! I know so many people who LOVE the buffalo cauliflower at Bravest. We were excited to welcome the new owners and were under the impression that changes would be minimal and for the better. Getting rid of cauliflower isn't for the better. You'll certainly lose many costumers, myself included.

Best burger I've had in a long time and the atmosphere is incredible. Fries were bomb as well but you had to buy them separately which was a lil sus but hey it's NYC they charge for everything. 10/10 would recommend, this place slaps.

Can never keep staff, so a rotating cast of non-favorites. Lots of "craft beer" served in 12oz goblets to save $$$ even if they are low ABV. Serve in a pint already? Rumors of the place being sold after "cosmetic improvements" doesn't surprise me...blood is in the water, innit? Used to be my favorite local. Shame. I'll go to Black Sheep instead then.

DON'T GO! Should be called the worst-est. Tiniest Martini ever in a terrible martini glass. To make it even worse- if even possible- the top shelf vodka was totally watered down. WATER. The manager, Britney just did not care and was very nasty. Josh, the bartender, was lovely. Poor Josh.

A local pointed me towards this bar as I walked around mid town looking for a place to have a drink on a Saturday night and it ended up as one of the best places in the city I've ever been. This isn't a tourist spot, this is where the locals go. Bar staff were friendly, locals were friendly, and there was even live music which really tied the night together. I will definitely be back, and would recommend you check it out too.

Solid place for food and drinks. Any of their burgers are delicious. Buffalo cauliflower is amazing too, fried pickles, literally never been dissatisfied with their food. I usually get a beer or an aperol spritz in the summer and have never been disappointed. Great bar with great food and drink options.

People are hanging out here at almost any hour of the day. It gets busiest around 5-6 pm when offices close down and coworkers come for after work happy hours. The happy hour draft beers are super cheap and there are lots of small bites options which makes it really the perfect place for hanging out rather than formal dinner or brunch

Wow... what a bummer of a downslide. This was our favorite go-to neighborhood bar for many years for good vibes, food and drinks. Last two times we have visited, we paid almost $50 for ONE round of drinks. To pay this for one vodka soda and one bourbon is just ridiculous. Sad loss for us for sure.

Updating this from great to elite. I've been back quite a few times now and can simply say, is hands down the best bang for your buck if you're looking for a really solid burger ($12 for a fully loaded specialty burger, $2 extra for delicious shoestring fries), and reasonable beer prices, this is your local spot. Furthermore, after deciding I was craving their burger tonight, by the time I got there, it was 9:45 and the kitchen was closed upon walking in, however after asking, the waitress fit in one last order if we ordered ASAP. Really appreciate the effort by the staff, on top of the great food. A safe go-to spot for a great meal, super reasonable prices, and casual vibe where no dressing up is required. A+ stuff!

Casual dining with great food. We ended up ordering too much because the serving sizes were big! They provided two to go boxes because we didn't want any of that good food to go to waste! Will come back again next time we are in town.

This used to be my neighborhood go to place a few times a week for many years. I'm not sure what caused the change this past year (new management?) but it's a sad ending to what used to be a great bar. Menu is missing items where the food actually used to be really good, it sucks now. The new (young, distracted) bar staff is not the same crew who knew your name and order and knew how to keep things moving. They also don't know how to pour a decent drink. This place has sadly gone to sh*t

Neighborhood bar. It's fine. Even sitting at the bar, it'll take a while to get a drink. It's not gonna blow you away but they have beers, seats and tvs. It's clean enough. And because it's close by and open late it'll get my business by default. FDNY patches and stuff all over, tracks with the name. Maybe if I'm a fireman or if I start a fire I'll get a beer faster.

Came here on a super-quiet, midweek late afternoon for a pre-dinner beer that definitely hit the spot. We were two of only three people there for Happy Hour, although folks started filtering in within the hour. It feels like it could be your neighborhood bar, with a decent menu, a staff that seems really tight & friends with each other, good Happy Hour prices ($5 domestic beers & well drinks), good squeaky wooden flooring & NYFD memorabilia & TVs adorning the walls. Just a really relaxing atmosphere. COVID protocol being followed well enough with Plexiglass dividers between tables, outdoor seating, & all staff wearing masks.

This is a great neighborhood spot. It has a good selection of food on the menu as well as a good selection of beers. They have good options for vegetarians and vegans. Their wraps are excellent and so are their wings.

As a vegetarian, the options at most bars are limited to fries and pizza, and if you're lucky, a veggie burger. Bravest has one of the most extensive vegetarian (and vegan) selection I've seen for a local neighborhood bar. Food: the nice thing about Bravest is it actually has vegetarian / vegan options that won't leave you feeling grossly heavy afterwards. the vegan crunchy tortilla wrap is amazing. Made with vegan chili and vegan queso with crunchy tortilla stuffed inside a soft tortilla wrap, it's just divine. The Buffalo cauliflower wrap is also excellent. The Buffalo cauliflower is flash fried, dressed with Buffalo sauce and then combined with lettuce, shredded carrot and cheddar. The cheddar melts nicely and doesn't feel overdone. Service: especially for a neighborhood bar, the service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and very responsive to requests. The ambiance is nice and laid back. Highly recommend this place not just to grab a drink but for food as well!

Bring back the Cajun burger. This place was amazing to come to as it's so close, but with the new menu there is really no reason to now.

burgers a-plus, servers are nice and reasonably attentive, lots of tvs and sports. problem is the volume-the tv volume was turned up wayyyyyy too loud and i had a headache in 15 minutes. prices are reasonable as well. i could see going back, perhaps on a day where there is NOT a yankees playoff game on. people of all ages that was cool too.

One of the best bars in the neighborhood. It's an FDNY bar with a variety of customers, friendly bartenders, and an overall great atmosphere.

Staff is slow and unfriendly. Would not recommend this bar compared to The others around the area. Food is not the best as well.

I always try to order something different when I come here, but the real standouts are the wings, the fried pickles, the fried chicken sandwich, and the burgers. Great deals, and good vibes - can't go wrong. Definitely one of my favorite spots to watch a game, especially in the outdoor section when the weather is nice!

Loved in nyc for 7 years and this is a top tier local bar. I can be found here at all hours of the day. When I bring new people I tell them there isn't a bad item on the menu because it's true. My favorite is the chicken Caesar wrap but the burgers are great as are the wings. Also some low key bangers are the French onion soup (sooo good). They have wonton Wednesday's (killer). Not a single bad thing to say

Good happy hour deals, and their fried pickles were solid--better than most I've had in the city. There's nothing about it to really blow your socks off, but it's exactly what you should want out of a neighborhood bar. Definitely an enjoyable, no-frills spot I can recommend to catch up with friends.

The Bravest is one of the nicest little corner neighborhood bars I've been to! The staff are friendly, the bar itself is cozy and clean, and the food is actually really delicious. Come support this bar so they can keep serving Murray Hill!

Great fireman-themed local bar with the emphasis on local. People here seem to know each other. It's all one big happy family. The laughter is louder than the music. Good burgers, and a nice beer selection. Waitresses with a super sense of humor. The only minus is the "all-day happy hour" beers are limited to the kinds you go to beer bars to get away from.

Swung past this spot looking for a new Wednesday/Thursday/Friday post work spot. Cool vibe, a little cramped but not uncommon in NYC. Really liked it. They are renown for their wings but they were shit frankly. The burger though was fantastic. Would highly recommend. Got the hamburger medium rare with bacon and cheese and didn't regret it for a minute. Had some cool cocktails on the menu including one of my favourites, Hot Toddy. Was excellent. They said they ran out of Moscow mule at 9pm on a Friday. That was weird. Drinks were reasonably priced, and they have a touch tunes box which is always good. Also good sports coverage and plenty of screens showing different stuff. Certainly found a new place to go after work! Price 4/5 Food 4/5 - burger made up for the wings which were a 2/5. They sucked. Ambiance 4/5 Service 4/5

They have forgotten how to make a basic hot toddy. I got a milky colored liquid, with Jameson, lime juice and hot water. This was not my experience during the Covid lockdown so when we went there every week to support them by drinking outside in the bitter cold. It was a full house but a very disappointing evening liquor-wise and service wise.

Like the country song that so seemingly fits Bravest, "I love this bar" should be their motto. Bravest has many great qualities of a local watering hole with a small town feel, located on Second Avenue. *Completely Without Pretense Bravest is no frills all the way. It's super casual where people can come to just be themselves. Don't come here on a non-Tinder first date. *Great Happy Hour Regular prices at Bravest are on the low end but their happy hour prices are even lower. Couple three bucks for beers and well, like your upstate college alma mata *Bar Food and Table Service Their food and pretty good! Not healthy by any means, but tasty for sure. Nachos, tater tots wings etc, coupled with a wide variety of beer. That's my kind of Thursday night dinner, right there. Great spot!

The food is good here. I went there few times. I like the American flags. Last night I was physically grabbed by the employee. I consider this as an assault. It is unacceptable in this neighborhood. This is an international neighborhood and if you don't like it go back to your shithole.

My wife and I visited this establishment in August with our service dog and received exemplary treatment with delicious food. Unfortunately, my wife remembered this and went again today for lunch with our service dog. This second time, they refused to seat her, demanding a service dog certificate. This is a gross violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. There is no federally recognized certification or licensure for service dogs, and a business is legally forbidden from requesting such. A business cannot refuse entry to a person with a service dog, request any kind of certification, or request the animal perform the work they are trained for. Please see the attached image for what else a business can and cannot do. This is gross discrimination and we will be filing complaints with both the State Attorney General's office and with BBB.

A no-frills, no-nonsense sports bar in the Murray Hills neighborhood. We stopped by for a fourth meal and some drinks since we were in the area. We'd walked past this place a couple of times, but were directed back thanks to our fellow Yelpers. At 8PM on a Wednesday night, the bar area was much fuller than the dining area, which was fine for us since we wanted a table. The menu is typical bar fare. We ended up splitting the 'Bravest' burger because we wanted something a little more special than just a regular ol' beef patty but not too fancy either. With just a few extra toppings (mozzarella, carmelized onions, and mushrooms), the Bravest fit the bill. The bun was drier than I would have liked and the fries were a bit soggy (and we had mostly end bits), but I still ended up eating everything anyway. Noms. I also ordered a Kentucky Mule, which turned out to be light and refreshing! Three stars for the food, and one additional star for the service. Our server was super sweet and personable. She definitely made our visit extra enjoyable! PS. Whoever made the executive decision to leave butcher paper and crayons out on the table in a bar (for the adults, I'm assuming) is a genius! Tic-tac-toe anyone?

The happy hour wings ($7) 10 pieces food is ok also I got a bacon wrap hotdog w/ Mustard and sauerkraut for $8 there also got nachos and tacos for happy hour too I got to the bar it's a U shape so it's pretty tight but go before 7pm it's starts to get .

Just moved into the neighborhood and have a pretty strong feeling that this is going to be our new local. The service was great (thank you Stephanie!), the burgers are delicious, and the wings were tasty. Oh, and well priced beer? Sure.... I'll take that. See you again soon.

Chill spot. Good spot to go for a burger and some wings and have a causal 6 vodka sodas. Also great deal on some bud light slimes during football season. Always has sports on. Would recommend.

The bartender was very attentive and a great conversationalist! I visited this place while visiting from Chicago and I loved it! Great wings and fries as well as drinks! Will be back!!!

One of the best burgers in midtown. This place may seem like the typical Irish bar from the outside, but they really do an exemplary job with the food and drinks that puts it heads above the rest

Having been back to Bravest a few more times since this original Yelp, and having had such a nice time with friends and their offered up fare, I felt a quick update was in order. Since that visit I have come back and tried a few different variations of their chicken wings, their fried pickles and a couple of different burgers. Good stuff for sure and filling. The staff remains friendly and the overall vibe is welcoming which is never a bad thing. While it might seem out of the way if you are up closer to Broadway in our fair metropolis, this is a short enough wander from Grand Central Station if you are looking for a good place. Thanks Bravest. Keep it up.

Great spot for bar food. Everyone is really friendly. Got the crack melt-chicken salad sandwich with bacon and cheese + fries. So yummmy!
