Hands down the best place we stopped while in NY. You need to go here. The place has tons of fresh food options, they had a hot buffet and fruit buffet by weight and everything including the buffet was incredible priced. The store itself is beautiful, and there is tons of seating.

Great little grocery near Times Square. They had lots of gluten-free snack options as well as fresh sliced fruit, such as mango.

Ordered a Danish off Uber eats, unfortunately, didn't have one in the moment...the lady at the register kindly pointed me to the baked goods section & was able to swap out to my liking. Super friendly service, juice tastes natural, various food options from soup to Brunch to snacks to dinner! Can't go wrong here 👌

Bread and Butters are all over NYC and make a great sustenance staple when traveling the city. They serve great breakfast sandwiches with fresh bread options and made-to-order salads, among other things. Always dependable, fresh, local, and reasonably priced. This is one of the better locations I've been to.

Great place to grab a quick bite to eat. The breakfast buffet in the morning has a great selection and the sushi is incredible. Convenient and good price if you’re hungry. Why selection of food and beverages and seating available upstairs overlooking the street.

Find this spot, looking for a comfortable place and not expensive to eat something delicious after googling Jackpot!, they have everything. From Acai, Coffee, sandwiches to delicious hot foot. We went at 5p.m. and still a good plenty of choices to choose from some food is sell by pound so is a great deal..

Habits have been made! From the wraps to the buffet, everything is delicious. The cashiers are so kind, the place is clean and spacious, the food a delight. Try it, you'll make an habit 😉

Honestly this is the best location in the city lol I love their Korean food options. They have a fresh smoothie option and their sushi section is not bad either. Their Korean hot food and packaged food is decently priced for the area, and 8/10 the made to order bibimbap is so good! The last time I went it didn't really hit but I'll try again haha. There is an extra fee if you pay with card FYI. There's also a ton of seating upstairs which is really nice!

This store has the worst bacon, egg, & cheese in New York City. This sandwich was absolutely horrible, who cooks eggs with with oil, eggs is supposed to be cooked with butter. The worst sandwich in the state of New York history.

Woah, spotting this Bread & Butter for me was like finding a $100 bill stuck to my shoe. I miss them after they closed near my old job during the Covid disaster. I went inside first just to take photos to post on Yelp. But they had all my favorites, it was like seeing your BFF after they been gone 6 years. Yeah I know it is far from gourmet food but I love it that I can get a mix of items in a small container of some of this and some of that. Like ange hairl pasta with shrimp, fried chicken wing, lo main noodles, Mongolian beef, corn and fried plantains, all together and it tasted good. Bread & Butter left me satisfied what more could I want.

I love this place. I always get the stir fry and it's enough for two meals. They have almost any type of food you could ask for. The staff is also super nice. I got charged double and when I came in next I showed my statement to the manager and they were truly sorry that happened to me, much appreciated!

Great location. Good amount of food options. Good healthy drink and food options I ordered a Italiano sandwich. The portion was a large size. Definitely shareable for two people. It was pretty greasy. And was as 'Italian' as I was hoping for the type of sandwich it was suppose to be. Drink options were great. I liked the layout of the place. Cute spot and a cute setup. Tons of seating upstairs.

Casual cafeteria. Stopped in for a quick breakfast. I had the pork bibimbap. $10 for 12 pieces. Reasonable pricing for midtown manhattan. Very quick service making it a solid express meal stop.

They're okay. I've been ordering from B&B for years. I haven't really had a problem. Their prices are wallet-friendly. They have a vast selection. I like(d) their sandwiches and salads. Speaking of which... One of my co-workers refuses to order their salads. She feels they aren't properly cleaned. Exhibit A proves her correct (I've shared pix). Of the many salads I've ordered from B&B, sometimes the kale might taste a little off. But yesterday, there was...something...in my salad. Peep the photos. Maybe y'all can tell me what it is. Looks like a slimy green caterpillar. I'm so effing grossed out. Might have to start bringing my lunch to work. I don't know what the heck is going on in these restaurants. Hopefully, someone at B&B sees this and tells their salad preppers to do better.

This food is barely passable to consider purchasing. This plus the inconsistency, plus everything I put before- 2 stars.

I really want to love this place! But this was my third time in and I just bought milk and Frosted Flakes the FF were open and the milk when I got home was curdled sour!!!the grapes molded the first time and food looks not clean Not

Just delivered. Shitty stale rolls that your sandwich falls apart. With so many choices definitely go elsewhere.

Food is great with a bunch of variety, I have bad service before but the manager (David) was prompt to correct it and provide better customer service. Only thing I wish is that the "make to order" stations weren't on such a time constraint. It's be great to pick up breakfast and lunch in one stop, but I'm sure it's not practical.

11/17/2018 It's winter time in New York City, you're walking all over the place. Everyone is cold, grumpy, sore, tired and hungry. You see lots of people eating roasted peanuts and hot dogs from street vendors. Your group isn't into street food, like yourself... lol. Not a single person in your group can agree on anything to eat. Some in your group want to eat at old reliable eateries, stuff you find in every big city in the US. Crikey you're in NYC, take charge and go somewhere different like Bread & Butter; they have a good variety for almost everyone. A little food in everyone's stomach stops the bickering between friends, lol.

I do love Bread & Butter and this location is quite spacious and so many tables if you don't want to bring your food back to your desk. There are food stations but I just straight to the back for Hot/Cold Buffet. Jeez, there are just two container options. I like the small normal plastic ones because I take a little of everything. Sadly I grabbed a black Tupperware one and they are so tightly stack that was hard for my small fingers to lift until I loosen grrrr. The Hot buffet chooses were alright only got some mash potatoes, corn kernels, string beans, chicken cutlet, sausage, and etc. I sat at the bottom of the steps area because they had these comfty sofa chairs. I didn't care they were meant for 2 or more lol I took the container since it was microwave safe.

Now, I'd appreciate a good meal but the rice have fresh veggies but that rice or fired rice wasn't the best but need some sea salt and pepper and garlic but it did have a impact of flavors. The egg plate and fried bananas was good but gave the rest to a woman that was sitting on 57th and 5th Ave panhandling. Don't eat meat so she took the chowder and chicken with the bread. I'm happy with some of the result of the food but I did get this off the app TooGoodToGo as a surprise bag. This is my reasoning that I'm not to upset, I was able t pay it forward with the meal. That fried rice needs improvement or and I have to get uncle roger up in here.

Great Tuna sandwich. Their wide selection of imported British chocolate was a great surprise! Needs air conditioning on hot days but overall worthwhile for a Saturday afternoon pit stop.

Am liking this Bread and Butter locale. I used to go to the one on PAS until I had to relocate. So glad there's one near me now at work. Fancy digs and a huge food market...you can pretty much find whatever food you want in here. Gourmet chips/snacks, chocolate, fancy drinks...everything! They have a small grocery section way in the back past all the food stations and buffet bars. The hot and cold buffet doesn't disappoint...TONS of variety, many protein choices (I'm a fan of the brisket), lots of seafood (I saw three shrimp offerings for those that like that), and a great selection of both hot and cold veggies. Everyday there's something new...so cool. Given the grand opening special is going on this week (Aug. 7-11) - the promo being 50% off the buffet, I have yet to try the other stations but will definitely return. Next week (Aug. 14-18), it will be 50% off sushi and sandwiches...I'm there dude!! Will update my review again then. :-) See you at B&B or SYOY.

This place is so nice! They have tons of variety with their food options (pizza, sushi, sandwiches, breakfast, etc) and it doubles as a convenience store! The seating area above is clean, spacious, and relaxing. I highly recommend this place for either a quick, on-the-go bite or even a sit-down, take your time kind of meal!

Mixed bag here. Grill, fresh sandwiches, udon, pretty good. Buffet bar, pre staged sandwiches, salads.....who know's how old they are. Order placement and pickup are kinda vague and chaotic, most of the staff cooks better than they speak or understand English.Decent seating available. Do know, they have started surcharging for credit cards, so they may be on their last legs. Overall, they've gotten very pricey, even for cash, and since I don't usually spend cash, I'll seek out better value further up the street.

The food was very very good. The service was excellent. Seating was really excellent as well. I will dine here again!

Quick deli style place (dont be fooled with the name and advertising) with decent options. I got a breakfast sandwich with vegetables and tatter tots on the side, all was good but this place lacks hygiene and sensibility. They prepare 7-8 entrees for the display case every meal and just throw it post service. I have visited them twice towards the end of breakfast service and experienced this horror (first time to buy, second time to make sure that I didnt go on an off day). To add to my concerns, they put leftover breakfast meat and potatoes on the same tray for storage which means it is not vegetarian friendly. The cook used the same gloves to pickup meat and potato patties. I am not saying they need to donate the food (i understand restaurant liability etc) but they neednt prepare a breakfast special plate or egg quesadilla for display. Arent these the most obvious options which everyone knows about? The owners lack environmental sensibility and I don't prefer recommending any such places.

The guys behind the grill/sandwich area are the WORST!! They rarely pay attention to what you want because they are to busy shouting "next" to take the next order!!! They rush you even when there is no line. I'm all for efficiency, but I would prefer accuracy if I had the choice, especially when it comes to my food.They've messed up my orders on multiple occasions. After today, they will no longer see me or my $$. I ordered a Philly Cheese steak sandwich. It literally came with two pieces of bell pepper and like 4 onions!! For almost $9.00, just ridiculous. Save your self the trouble and go somewhere else.

Changing my mind about this place. Food: Chipotle Panini = Cold. The chicken smelled bad. Took longer than the orders that came after me. I am pretty sure all they did was take a pre-made old panini and microwaved it because of how soggy it was. Sometimes I don't mind it but I don't know why it took long but it really just tasted like crap. Also I was looking at the ramen prices and all they use is a packaged ramen that individually costs prob a dollar or two and cook it and sell it for around $10. Overall: I am finding this place now overrated because of the ambience and decor inside is nice and there is a lot of variety but now I am thinking it's all for show and they really don't make that great of food here. They are just servicing the lunch rush.

I loved the food. Prices not great, but not bad either. The watermelon and yogurt was fantastic, as was the coffee and workspace. I'll look forward to coming back. The food selection was impressive.

When you first come in, the place looks beautiful and the food looks tasty. Unfortunately, the unfriendly staff and the bland, uncooked and spoiled food will have you disappointed enough to write a review on yelp. I asked for a fresh squeezed juice at the juice bar. An employee told me "the juice bar is closed, just take a Tropicana. It's the same thing". I purchased a few food items. The salad had spoiled tomatoes. The containers for the food weighed more then the food itself. Extremely disappointed. Waste of $24.80. Mood ruined.

Value: 8/10 Experience: 8/10 Taste: 7/10 A store with a massive variety (sushi, sandwiches, salad, pizza, burrito, and more) for good value. Value: I got the burrito bowl in a tortilla bowl ($10) and it was MASSIVE (probably almost 5lbs). The servers don't skim on your order like Chipotle does and piles on the meat and other toppings. Very satisfied with the amount of food of food for the price. Experience: Usually it is pretty crowded and it can take a while depending on which line you're in (sandwiches take a while). Since it was close to Thanksgiving, there was no line for burritos so I was in and out quickly. The layout is a bit weird since some stations (burritos) are not clearly labeled and you have to hunt around a bit for them. It was clean and well lit inside and they server was very friendly. Taste: Honestly thought it tasted better than Chipotle. The rice was cooked with veggies, giving it a fried rice taste, which I preferred over plain rice. The roast pork was fine, nothing special. The sides are pretty fresh and pairs nicely with the tortilla bowl. It can definitely be a bit heavy since the meat and tortilla seemed a tad oily. Overall, you can't go wrong with a massive burrito bowl for $10 in under 5 minutes. I won't be going to Chipotle again with this being down the block and I recommend you giving the burrito station a try! UPDATE: I wouldn't recommend getting the pastas since it comes out bland and oily. Their other choices are still recommended!

Just witnessed a cashier yell at a man in front of everyone that he did not pay. Next thing you know the whole staff goes out after him pull him back into the store mind you he was with someone else who had already paid for the coffee smfh. How embarrassing. These ppl are something else, no apology nothing. I had chicken sandwich it was ok, too messy but I was hungry. Anyway

Not sure why the bad reviews, because this place is AMAZING!!!!! Fresh, delicious food and tons of options to choose from, which you can order from the various counters, build your own from the buffet, or grab a pre-packaged box. Options range from sushi, to pizza, to breakfast, to salads! The staff was very friendly. Prices weren't too bad, either. It reminds me of the Whole Foods hot food section, but smaller and better. I hope Bread & Butter comes to LA, someday!

As far as Midtown lunch options go, Bread and Butter has pretty much become my new go-to spot. While I'm sad to see D&S go, I can't say that I'm too upset because B&B is a pretty darn good replacement. I still get the same thing - the chicken parm sandwich - but the prices have gone up for just about everything. While there's definitely way more space and more food options here, I'm paying probably $.60 more per sandwich than I was at D&S ($9.20 for my sandwich). It doesn't sound like much but it adds up. I've yet to try their soups, salads, pizzas, Chinese food, sushi, or hot buffet, but I'm confident that B&B will be a mainstay.

Truly disappointed with the customer service, especially after my last visit. Usually I'm in and out with some quick pre-made meal, which means I don't really have to interact too much with the staff. The friendly "hello" and "goodbye." The staff there at night usually balance restocking, cleaning, and checking people out at the same time. Last week at around 1am, I had approached a staff member to ask if some of the hot food that was still for the taking. They were literally throwing out tons and tons of hot food in the garbage and had seemingly just started the process as most of the hot food was still out. I was curious and asked if I could take some of the food (also an opportunity to lessen food waste!), but immediately was told by the staff member "I don't understand English." That's fine, mind you. This is NYC and not everybody speaks English comfortably. What ensued totally changed my experience from uneventful to terrible. As I pointed to the take out plates in order to lessen the language barrier (with all the positive intent possible), I was immediately approached by what seemed to be the overnight manager. The only words that were uttered from his mouth were "No, no, no" and waved at me to step away, borderline felt like he was kicking me out of the store. I asked "hey, I'm on my lunch break now and I see this food being thrown out, I'm paying for it. What's going on here?" Guess what, he wouldn't answer me. He would not even look at me. He walked away from me and wouldn't answer ANY of my questions. It's like he shut down. I ended up getting some sushi and a dessert, but I felt so unwelcome and disrespected. "Unbelievable" was the only thing I could mutter for him to hear. I work in retail at night in Midtown, so the fact that this location is open 24/7 is a good thing. I was originally going to rate my experience 2 stars based on prior visits. While I know how hard it is to work nights especially in the service industry, this behavior was no excuse. And based on prior reviews regarding food poising, maybe I did dodge a bullet. Who knows. I won't be back to find out. In the future I'll support the 24/7 delis in the area and not this business; one where employees clearly don't enjoy what they do.

This place is probably one of best food court in NYC . Food is amazingly good and fresh Staffs are very fast and kindly. And most important is price is cheaper than other deli in nyc... I would recommend to try buffeet food in the morning and lunch thumbs up and

Wow.. I understand there is high throughput at this store. But the staff is so incredibly rude, it's not worth your time or money. Clearly the management of this branch and the overall organization doesn't know how to build a culture of customer service while catering to high traffic. The front staff basically yelled at me when I didn't quite have enough in the basket to meet their arbitrary '$7 minimum' for using credit cards. When I tried to get out of the line to not hold people up (simply to buy more stuff to hit the limit!!) she forcefully removed the items I had from my hands. Businesses like this give New York a bad name.

It's not a bad place to grab lunch. It's Asian owned so the quality is suspect and there are plenty of artificial flavor and additives, but the hot bar is a decent price if you don't load up in dumb heavy stuff like rice. Since it was my first time here, I tried a little bit of lots of things, including the salmon, shrimp, calamari, brussel sprouts, mushrooms, etc. It's funny that I asked for salt at checkout because once I started eating it, it became clear that I wouldn't need salt as everything was over salted and over seasoned (probably msg). Nonetheless, it wasn't a bad meal by any means, it was all ok but nothing special.

I love Bread & Butter! It's slightly over priced, but what deli in NYC isn't! Plus it's in a very convenient location for work, so I'm basically a regular at this point. The guys behind the deli always joke around when me and are very pleasant when I order my food. I do love their açaí bowls as well! But I usually tend to go for a breakfast wrap due to cost. They have lots of options if you're looking for a variety on your lunch hour, I'd definitely recommend to stop in if you need some options.

I work in the Neighborhood and frequent all the establishments on 56th and 55th streets, but after my experience here yesterday I will NEVER give my business to this establishment, and neither should you. I bought sushi and some egg salad, and paid. When I asked the cashier not to print the receipt paper in order to save the paper, the young girl at the register called me a "f***ing gay!' And mocked me when I put places my hand on my chest in shock, after her comment. This is 2018 in NYC, and I'm sure that MANY of those gays, near and far, support this business. Do not eat here. Do not support this hateful establishment. AWFUL! And to boot, the manager came down after I complained, and said to "excuse her because she was a young girl and didn't know better." And when I tried to further explain the situation, he waved his hand in my face and dismissed me. I've never been treated with such disrespect, and the staff couldn't care less.

Walking around one morning, I saw a couple people walking toward me with Bread & Butter bags, so I decided to stop by. I just picked up a croissant but walked around a bit first. They have lots of other options like smoothies, sandwiches and lots of refrigerated stuff. Croissant was fine. And the line moved fast when picking up stuff and paying.

When you order toasted bagel you want toasted, not burnt. When you order egg and bacon roll -- your eggs shouldn't be black. When you want to order something -- you don't need to think where to go, and ask if it's here to place order. Because everyone are so busy discussing what they did last night. On other hand, ramen was perfect.

THERE WAS A METAL SCREW IN MY QUESADILLA I went to Bread & Butter yesterday and ordered a shrimp quesadilla. I returned to work and began eating. Half way through my meal I took a bite and felt a sharp pain in my mouth and heard a crack. I immediately removed the bite of food and to my surprise saw a metal screw in my food. I called and asked to speak with a manager and an one was put on the phone. I explained to the manager what happened and he told me to come in and he would provide me with a refund. I returned to the restaurant and the manager spotted me and asked if I was the customer who found a screw in her food. I showed him my food with the screw in it and he took it and walked over to the cooks to show them. While he was speaking with the cooks, another manager approached them (No uniform unlike other workers ) and joined the conversation. I walked over to them and as I approached the second manager turned to me and told me they would make something else to replace the quesadilla. I explained to her that I didn't feel comfortable eating anything else from their kitchen after finding a screw in my food and would like a refund. The manager went to the cashier and said loudly, "Give the liar back her money." I asked her to repeat what she just said to the cashier and she repeated, "I told her to give the liar back her money." I told her it is extremely disrespectful to treat a customer the way she was treating me and it wasn't appropriate for her to make accusations and call me names. The manager shrugged and responded, "I wasn't talking to you." I could have choked or I could have broken a tooth. Even worse, this screw could have ended up in a child's meal. All of this is incredibly upsetting but it's their handling of the situation that is totally unacceptable. I would imagine most restaurants would be horrified to find out one of their customers found a foreign object in their food. This restaurant decided to embarrass me and treat me as if I had done something to them instead of the other way around. Almost everyone in my office frequents Bread & Butter regularly. After hearing about this situation, they have all decided they will no longer be patrons of an establishment who treats their customers this way. EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK !

They have aspartame free gum, vegan chocolates, flavored seltzer water & specialty coffee drinks. I love this place! They always have the most eclectic specialty foods. Seltzer water is La Croix brand and they have so many flavors to choose from. They also have a wide selection of chocolate bars. And if it wasn't too late in the late afternoon I would've grabbed their cold blood orange flavored iced coffee. Sounds so tantalizing and innovative!

I was going here every day for lunch for the last week as it is convenient, the food is good, and they have a huge variety of just about everything you could want (hot bar, sushi, pizza, sandwiches, salads, etc.). I would have given four stars for this place for the general food quality, ease, and connivence, but my experience today soured my opinion of this place. I had filled a plate of food at the hot bar and had decided to also order a slice of pizza. While I was waiting for my slice to heat up, I took a sample of pizza off the counter that they were offering on toothpicks. As soon as I took the sample they offered, a woman came up to me, a manager I believe since she was wearing a different color bread and butter shirt than the rest of the employees, and accused me of stealing food and eating my hot bar meal before it was weighed and paid for. I told her that I had just taken a free sample of the pizza off the counter, and that's what I had eaten, but she continued to insist that I had eaten my meal without paying for it. I was seriously insulted as I was literally standing in front of a tray of samples. Chances are they just lost a customer.

I can't believe I have to write this review. I've been a daily customer here. Specific instruction due to good restrictions and diet. They didn't have an option for just the noodles so I specified I didn't want anything including sauce on my linguini. They gave me linguini with sauce. I had to wash the noodles out. Paid $8 for a simple plain noodle and they still got it wrong. then today I wanted just ramen. Didn't have the option (again) to have just the noodles. So I paid $8 for the whole thing. I was looking forward to eating but when I got it, it wasn't WRONG WRONG WRONG. they just wrote a note letting me know it's too busy to just boil just the noodles? So each time it's been wrong I just starve till dinner. Going to rethink my long time loyalty with them. It's gotten worse since they had their plumbing problem 2 weeks ago.

Ordered korean bibimbap, after taxes that ish was $14, when I got the bibimbap, there was lettuce, CHUNKS OF RICE, and legit two pieces of bean sprouts and carrots...I'm korean I know what bibimbap is supposed to look like-they ran out of tofu and called me and told me they're putting in more greens to substitute for it. I basically ate rice and lettuce for lunch and they said "oh ok well next time we will send you a free soda" ...um I don't wanna free soda I want my money back. DONT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE.

Shut down for a week by the NYC Dept of Health. Just be cautious about your next visit there. I used to go here everyday for breakfast and it occurred to me the buffet table they re-heat the unsold Corn Beef Hash from yesterday. So this shut down hopefully is a wake up call. Yuck...

This gem is one of the best value eateries in NYC. The food is fresh; the coffee is good; the facility is clean; the seating area is nice... And the cashiers are some of the most efficient operators you will ever see! If you are in a rush for a very delicious, healthy, inexpensive meal in the City... Search no more!!

I am mixed about this place, mainly because D&S Marketplace closed right as this one opened and that was my favorite deli. Anyway - overall, it's overpriced. I had some of their buffet (salad, fruit) and wound up paying $7 for it. It was the small container, too! I also tried their clam chowder, which I liked. My coworkers have had a similar experience. They didn't like the poke (wasn't fresh), but they liked the stir fry, etc. I'm sure I'll come here again, but I I won't be getting a $7 small container of fruit and lettuce again.

I believe in second chances... when I initially went to Bread & Butter a few weeks ago, I ordered Pad Thai... what came out, was absolutely nothing remotely resembling what I ordered... sure, there were noodles, but that's pretty much where a similarity to the actual dish ended. What I received was a mash-up of vegetables (broccoli, zucchini, carrots, etc... basically what you'd see in a stir fry) in a watery broth... no single piece of egg, bean sprouts, peanuts, etc... you know, what one would expect to see in a Pad Thai. As a result, I decided that I must have picked up someone else's order because there is no way anyone could ever hear "I'd like some chicken Pad Thai" and produce this mess. Oh, how wrong I was... upon returning a few weeks later, and against the pleas from my colleagues, I decided to order the same dish again (because, as I stated above, there is no way anyone could murder Pad Thai this much on purpose). Alas, the 2nd time was not a charm. It really seems like the chief really believes this is what a Pad Thai consists and looks like. I am not even comparing this to an authentic local hole in the wall restaurant... I am pretty sure that if McDonald's decided to make Pad Thai, they could make one that tasted better and was more authentic, made of French fries, lettuce and tomato than what Bread and Butter calls a Pad Thai. I mean, really... just Google it... I did... it will take a second.. it does not look anything like what you are serving! To be fair, the rest of the food does look good, but I am not really sure if I can muster the courage to go back here any time soon (and if I do, I will not be getting the Chicken Pad Thai).

I really like this place. I really do. They have decent quality food. But the prices posted are not what you pay. Egg and cheese sandwich (during breakfast hours) should be 3. Sign says after 1030 add $1. Whenever I want it after 1030, they say +2 or sometimes +3. The other night I couldn't even get the lazy guy behind the counter to make me one. He said "he was making bacon for the morning." For what it is, the quality of the food it pretty solid. You just have to kind of hit the jackpot when dealing with the help. The cashiers, tho, are totally honest and up-standing.
