Lady was so very nice! Unfortunately food awful My salad was like cereal the amount of dressing on here. Cupcake so awful box after taste Smoothie Not smooth at all smooth very gritty I wasted $37.21 I’m so sad. I borrowed somebody’s ranch dressing they had for their wings (purchased elsewhere of course) to try to balance the taste

Has a lot of potential!! I was so happy to see another bakery come to town that also serves sandwiches! Their products all look great and they are in a great location. Both of these factors also seem to have driven up prices unfortunately. I found their prices for sandwiches to be nearly as high as a sit down restaurant without a similar dining experience. In fact the interior feels a bit cheaply put together (which is fine) and I found their menu difficult to navigate due to the breadth of options. Which for a diner is great but for a bakery/sandwich shop could create challenges for staff (lots of ingredients to manage and purchase) and for customers (longer wait times). Regarding my food itself. I found my sausage, egg, and cheese to be pretty standard. The bagel itself was definitely the best part but the sausage was chopped up links which were not very tasty and difficult to eat. I probably would try something else on the menu next time. I do recommend at least dropping in to try a fresh baked good and I hope this place continues to get better!

Upon my visit to Bread Bite Bakery on a Saturday morning, I was thoroughly impressed. There was nothing to be disappointed about. I highly recommend this establishment, where one can observe the daily in-store preparation of their bagels and breads. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich, which proved to be a delectable and satisfying choice. Given its convenient location in my neighborhood, I am pleased to have discovered a place where I can frequently indulge. The bakery offers ample seating and picturesque window views. Additionally, I ensured to treat my sweet tooth by ordering a cupcake. I encourage you to visit and experience it for yourself.

Google
I ordered my husbands birthday cake from Bread Bite and it was a total hit. People kept asking where we ordered from because it was so delicious. We ordered the chocolate cake with strawberry filling/frosting. Cake is nice and firm but not dry and the frosting is to die for - not too sweet or heavy. I will say I feel like when we called to order, there was a bit of an upsell scenario because the cake that is supposedly for 40 people (which was the size of our party) ended up being WAY too big so as to be a little embarrassing. Won’t prevent me from ordering from here again because the cake is absolutely exquisite - but lesson learned!

Google
I ordered five brunch paninis, and I’m beyond impressed! They were delicious, with fresh ingredients, and the owner bakes everything from scratch. The shop smelled amazing, and the treats on display were almost too beautiful to eat. I couldn't resist trying some pastries, and I'm so glad I did—they were perfectly crafted, fresh, and rich in flavor. Highly recommend this place!

Google
Brand New to 14th St, Bread Bite Bakery is a welcomed addition to the Coffee scene! I won’t go as far to sing praise to any particular food item or beverage on their menu, but if you are in the area and looking for a quick bite, pop in. [[ No Decaf Espresso ]]

Google
Steak and egg croissant was fire. But the white habanero sauce is my new addiction. Straight psyops.

Google
Blessing to finally have a bakery on 14th street! Loved everything I tried. There is plenty of space to dine in too. The staff is very friendly. Give it a try.

Yelp
Sweet little bakery- they have homemade bagels, breads and baked goods. I got a smoothie , chai tea and a chocolate croissant. Staff was really kind and helpful.
google avatar

Yelp
The cupcakes are dry and seemed like they were a few days old and then served. For the price, they should be fresh. Coffee was a little grainy, particularly the espresso. Seating is iffy, and the vibe is a little off - too quiet, no music.

Yelp
I guess I'm the first review for the Logan Circle location. They had plenty of bread when I went at 5pm and picked up a sourdough. The price was high at $8.50 compared to the grocery store but it was very good. The pastries looked good as well. Service was friendly and quick.

Yelp
Delicious and beautiful custom birthday cake. Chocolate cake with Chocolate buttercream. They even have candles. Friendly and caring service. A nice addition to the neighborhood.

Yelp
This is for the new location on 14th Street. I had a delicious egg sandwich on a croissant during the week. Everything tasted fresh and was well put together. I have also gone with my little boy over the weekend for their chocolate chip cookies. They warmed up the cookie for him and it was a hit. I think a big part of my five star review is the spirit and friendliness of the owner/entrepreneur and his staff. They genuinely care about this business and their customers. I am glad they are in the neighborhood and will be going back.

Yelp
Quick, yummy, cheap. You can call ahead to pick up. It's hard to find a breakfast spot lately that you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for. Sometimes you just want a breakfast sandwich that doesn't cost $12 & this spot hit that target.

Yelp
Bread Bite Bakery Breakfast Bagels are Brilliantly Bombdiggity! The bagel is light in a way that delights, a bagel that is fluffy but doesn't make you too stuffed-ty. As a blossoming bagel-eating connoisseur, I have observed that so often breakfast bagels taste as though some pre-made egg was simply plopped on top. But the fried egg stuffed into this bad boy was a refreshing change - tasting fresh and crispy in the most fantastic of ways. Though U St is most known for its popping nightlife, Bagel Bite Bakery makes it clear that U St should also be known for its deliciousness in the daylight. When you go, please try a danish on my behalf since I didn't have the stomach capacity to do so myself.

Yelp
Best neighborhood bakery in north of Logan Circle area. I secretly hope it won't be replaced by big bakery chains that are coming to this area. Would recommend: all their savory sandwiches and bagel. Would only recommend if you have a huge craving: croissants and smoothie. (It's not heavenly amazing but it does the job of satisfying a craving)

Yelp
First time here . Will be back to try their breakfast menu! I ordered Kale Tuna salad w/ Rosemary Dressing & a Monster Burner ! Salad was fresh and good , the Monster Burner could've had a little more honey to it ! Overall , everything was good plus customer Service!

Yelp
11/27/22 we were visiting from Chesapeake, va. And looking for a good bagel. Well, we found it! The staff was very friendly and the bagels were wonderful! We will always come back when we are in town!

Yelp
I really enjoy Bread Bite's cupcakes. I got the strawberry and the dulce de leche. The cupcakes are big, not too sweet, and really flavorful. They are also reasonably priced. I picked up some decent sourdough as well. I'm not a smoothie person but I saw a few people get them and they seem to be popular. Bread Bite is a small, neighborhood place but the staff is friendly and the cupcakes are worth a pop in.

Yelp
After exploring coffee shops and bakeries in Washington, D.C. for more than a decade, I was surprised to stumble upon one I had never heard of. After grabbing breakfast here, I understand why. After waiting in line here on a Saturday, it's clear it's a neighborhood joint. The staff are very friendly and knew most customers by name. It's clearly loved part of Dupont Circle. However, I wasn't impressed with the food. I ordered a chocolate croissant and an iced latte. The croissant was MASSIVE, but tasted stale and not good. My iced latte was poorly made and didn't taste like quality coffee. Go for the amazing customer service, but you can find better baked goods and coffee (like at nearby ThreeFifty Bakery and Coffee Bar).

Yelp
A decent spot for a local bagel sandwich at an affordable price. There aren't too many other nearby spots for bagels so this is a must have at least once. I'm not sure if I was impressed enough to go back too often but it's a perfect place to snag a snack to take to Meridian Hill Park a couple blocks away.
google avatar

W C.

Yelp
Due to some very poor planning on our parts (long story), we ended up here for coffee and pastries this morning before meeting some friends at Meridian Hill Park. It's a grab-and-go place with no seating and the owners seemed like a very sweet and hard working couple, but...oof. The food is terrible. The almond croissant was a mushy mess and the chocolate chip cookie tasted like a Sysco specialty. Iced coffee was fine as was the iced chai, but we're pretty upset that we wasted a dining opportunity here when there are so many exceptional bakeries around town. 2.5 stars, rounding down, sorry to say.

Torkil H.

Yelp
There is no bakery here at the moment despite the address listed here on Yelp. If it gets established maybe it will be good. But this was a wasted trip.

Mei-Ling C.

Yelp
I really love Bread Bite Bakery! We order our kids' birthday cupcakes from here every year and they are so delicious!!! Google maps is showing that they are permanently closed so I hope that's not the case!!!

Yelp
Bread Bite is one of my favorite places in the neighborhood. I go there a few times a month for my everyday bread -- there is nothing like picking up a just-baked loaf of their whole wheat or, if they have it, their cheddar jalapeno loaf. I usually go right home and eat a slice or two straight out of the bag. In addition to those two types of bread, I would *highly* recommend their chicken salad sandwich on fresh ciabatta, and I also like the lemonade they sell. They did a potato garlic loaf at one point that was really delicious too, and I'm crossing my fingers they will bring back olive bread at some point. Jorge and his small team of bakers are so friendly and very caring. I've seen Jorge go out of his way to make sure that customers are satisfied and that the bread he sells is always up to his personal standards. Their personal touch makes life in the neighborhood feel welcoming and reassuring, even during such a difficult and turbulent time. I'm not as big a fan of their croissants (they are the bigger, heavier kind and not super buttery or sweet), but it looks like some of the other reviewers enjoyed them. Also, if you are picky about your baguettes, know that Jorge's style with his is more fluffy rather than crunchy/chewy (at least to the best I can describe it -- I tend to like the skinny organic baguettes from trader joe's the best). Go check out bread bite and support our local mom 'n pops!

Yelp
I loved this place. I ordered an egg and cheese on a croissant and a Caribbean smoothie every time I happened to be on U Street. They were so friendly, too.

Yelp
The food is great - simple options that are fresh and quality. We've tried a different sandwich every time and never been disappointed. And the bread and bagels are great to take home.

Yelp
Tried this spot as I continue my search for the best bagel in DC, and sadly this wasn't it. It was a pretty basic bagel--not bad, but nothing special. They have all the typical bagel and cream cheese flavors, as well as other pastries and food that could be good if you're in the area, but not the best spot for a bagel.
google avatar

Yui N.

Yelp
Everything here is amazing! The bagels, croissants, cheese danish, honestly it's all yummy.

Caaleb J.

Yelp
I'm not one to leave a review at all. Cupcakes were horrible, I don't like to drag businesses but man. This was for my kids mini birthday and all the kids hated the cupcakes. My son eats everything. Please no cupcakes from here, anything else. BUT, they did have excellent customer service.
google avatar

Pérez C.

Yelp
Bread bite is the bagel place in DC. it was recommended to me by a very savvy client and it does not disappoint-the variety is impressive and the service is on point every time. Right on the corner of 15th and U NW -- I go often. Gracias a mi tocayo Don Prudencio

Yelp
My friend got a cake from here for a birthday we were celebrating. So this is a review specifically for the red velvet cake. Moist and delicious. The cream cheese icing had a different taste to it that I thought was goat cheese, but it was not. It threw me off a bit but still good. I would probably prefer one without that side taste. Or maybe it's just me. I'll definitely be back for my own cakes!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in here when I spent time with family in DC. The coffee was good and the croissants, ooh, la, la! Just the aroma is worth a visit! Wish we had a bakery like this back in my hometown-
google avatar

Kristie J.

Yelp
This review is strictly for their bakery items which I happen to very much enjoy. I ate an oreo cupcake there which was nice and moist and took home some tres leches. Having been to Costa Rica over a dozen times, it has turned out to be my favorite dessert and I've had plenty of bad ones here in the states. I am happy to say that this is just as good as some that I get over there. The cake was tender and moist and of course was soaking in the milk liquid. It was really delicious. I ate it first thing when I came home. I noticed that most people either complained about non bakery items or price neither of which I had a negative experience with.

Amanda D.

Yelp
I visit this cute neighborhood bakery every time I visit DC. The staff is amazing. They remember me every time. Their pastries are amazing, their breakfast sandwiches as delicious and the cupcakes are so yummy. You have to take time and stop in and grab a few things.
google avatar

Katie W.

Yelp
This is a great little neighborhood bakery serving up some delicious bagel sandwiches. Good bagels are hard to come by, and the bagels here are absolutely delicious. Breakfast sandwiches are all cooked to order so everything is very hot and fresh. The only downside is that because of the size of the bakery, this place is TINY, you will need to wait quite a while for your breakfast bagel sandwich. Best to stop for a sandwich when you aren't in a rush. Overall, I would definitely come back because the employees are extremely friendly and the vibe is great.

Joe F.

Yelp
Great for take-out bagels (no seating), ordered twice here over 2 days. Bagels are fresh and heated up, sliced and spread with your choice of cream cheese, which is also fresh and tasty. Be aware their menu is very limited on weekdays, and several types of bagels (e.g. whole grain and cinnamon raisin) are available only on weekends.
google avatar

Dominic F.

Yelp
I went this morning for a smoked salmon bagel sandwich and an everything bagel with butter. The prices seemed high at $8.99 and $2.50, respectively. The smoked salmon was skimpy and had one thin layer of tomato and one thin layer of smoked salmon - for almost $10 after tax I'd want a more substantial bagel. That said, it was a great bagel with good chew and a nice sourdough flavor, but could have used more everything seasoning. The everything with butter ended up coming with cream cheese, which my wife isn't a big fan of. This is the second time I've ordered a bagel with butter only to discover cream cheese instead. By the time I've noticed I'm already at home or work and it's not worth the effort to go back. I'm happy Bread Bite seems to be doing well in spite of their high prices (everything seems $1 or $2 too high) and minor ordering errors.
google avatar

Tommy E.

Yelp
An everything bagel should be covered in garlic and spices. It's more like a plain bagel with a hint of everything bagel. It is very fresh.

Mikey B.

Yelp
I just had a Salmon bagel sandwich and it was delicious. I've been looking for a great neighborhood breakfast and sandwich shop, and I can finally say my search is over. The staff is friendly and you can tell the owner takes pride in his bagels. I'm so glad I can support small businesses like this.

Yelp
This is my favorite neighborhood bakery. Can't go wrong here! It's fast, delicious, and open early.

Benjamin J.

Yelp
Great neighborhood cafe/bakery. Delicious breakfast sandwiches and smoothies! A. A

Yelp
Bread Bite Bakery, a/k/a the bakery by the Ruth Bader Ginsburg memorial, is the best neighbor on U Street. All sandwiches and salads are all fresh, made to order, and worth the wait. The individual servings of tres leches cake, however, are my favorite treat. Soft white, springy cake, under a fluffy whipped cream topping, dusted with just the right amount of powdered cinnamon, soaks in a shallow bath of sweetened condensed milk that is perfect for lapping up the last crumbs of cake. Tip: Keep an eye on it when you carry it home, because if you tip it too much the milk can leak out of the plastic container.

Jenna L.

Yelp
Legitimately the best bagel I have ever had. The man who owns it is so sweet too!!!! 10/10 recommend if I lived here I would eat his everything bagel every single day. But get there early bc he'll sell out of bagels :(

Natalie B.

Yelp
I came here in crisis mode - Au Bon Pain never showed up with breakfast for our board meeting and I needed enough food to feed 16 people fast. Within 10 minutes, Bread Bite Bakery set me up with a coffee carafe, cream, sugar, cups, bagels, bananas, pastries and cream cheese (all for less than half the price of Au Bon Pain's spread). The owners are lovely, kind people. I will do all my catering orders through them from now on. Thank you, Bread Bite!!
google avatar

Shelby D.

Yelp
What a hidden gem. I was looking for a good breakfast bagel sandwich (without having to wait in line and pay for the one I love at CYM), and Bread Bite hit the spot. I ordered the Bacon, Egg, & Cheese on an Everything Bagel with roasted tomato sauce and WOW. Best breakfast sandwich I've had for less than $7. There's a small bar area to sit with 3 stools, and they might be full, so come ready to bring your bagel home or elsewhere (maybe Meridian Hill Park a few blocks away?) The staff are super nice here as well.
google avatar

Clarice V.

Yelp
Bread Bite Bakery is just awesome. Location and service was great. Most everything I've tried until now have been quite good. The crew was very friendly and service is excellent. All around excellent experience.
google avatar

E J.

Yelp
Very nice staff here and I got delicious, fresh baked sourdough here once. But I don't think I'll be going back since I paid quite a bit of money for croissants there yesterday which tasted like they were a few days old. It was beyond disappointing.
google avatar

Joy Z.

Yelp
Stopped in to sample a cupcake for a birthday party and - perhaps I'm just hungry - but that was the most amazing cupcake I have had in a long time. So, just so you know, I will be buying up all the Double Chocolate cupcakes in June. You have been warned, my good people. As my 9 year old daughter says, "Deliciously moist!"

Carah A.

Yelp
Great coffee and lemonade! The egg and cheese sandwich was delicious on an everything bagel.
google avatar

Ed C.

Yelp
The chocolate croissants are really good! In my experience, the omelettes were over cooked and a little greasy. Not terrible, but I would prefer my omelet yellow, not totally browned on both sides. I also had a croissant breakfast sandwich that was pretty good. A bit pricey though-$2 and change more than on a bagel. The sausage is basically cut up links.
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
I can't believe I have been walking past this place for two years and never stopped in. I have searched high and low for a decent bagel in DC but have been met with much disappointment. My search has come to an end with this lovely family run bakery. It's in my neighborhood, in between the 14th St and 16th St bus lines, and is very clean. The people who run it are gems and always meet their customers with a smile. I am actively trying to make up for lost time by stopping by frequently, and have yet to be disappointed. I have also tried the homemade bread which is great. It is a bit pricey ($6+ for a breakfast sandwich) and the everything bagel could use a bit more seasoning, but otherwise I couldn't ask for much more.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
This place is horrible. It took over the old Cakelove spot, and I was super excited that maybe a real bakery capable of making something tasty would come in. Unfortunately, they're continuing the same line of thinking of Cakelove -- disgusting, chemical-tasting, awfulness. Their cupcakes were cold and hard (sorry, but you shouldn't have to wait 20 minutes for a cupcake to warm up before eating it -- that just means you haven't figured out how to bake). The cupcakes were rather dry, kind of hit or miss depending on the type. And the icing for all of them were disgusting. Too much sugary fondant nonsense. Repeat after me. NOBODY LIKES FONDANT. It looks nice. That's it. Head over to the Cakeroom on 18th St. if you want something yummy.
google avatar

Lindsay V.

Yelp
Meh. Omelettes straddled the line between fine and disgusting. Cupcake was hard and tasteless.
google avatar

Claire G.

Yelp
I've been waiting for a decent bagel place in this part of the U Street corridor, and was really excited last year when the Bread Bite Bakery had a "pop up" inside the CakeLove shop for a few months. When they announced that they were taking over the space, I got very excited that this could be my go-to place for a pick-me-up or weekend treat because of its proximity to my apartment, the Metro, and pretty much every bus line I use. This week, I tested it out with a breakfast bagel (served all day!) and an iced coffee. The bagel was decent (still no NY bagel, but we're in DC), perfectly toasted, and the bacon was on point. The coffee was OK, but I know that's also not their main business. The space was a little oddly laid out and it was hard to tell where to pay (I can see this being an issue during peak hours), but the staff there was very friendly and were clearly apologetic for working out any kinks in their first few weeks of business. My only hesitations to making this a regular place for me is that the prices were set a bit too high, even for this area--and certainly for a mostly to-go place ($6+ for a breakfast bagel? and $4 for a small iced coffee? I'd be broke so quickly!). I think streamlining the menu (they seem to be trying to do too much -- salads, smoothies, and cannolis along with their bagel and bread business?) might help drive down those prices. Either way, very happy to have them in the neighborhood!
google avatar

Charles C.

Yelp
Thank God a good bagel place in the neighborhood! Nice people and good bagels....and not a chain! Highly recommend.
