Break Juicery

I asked for no granola because I’m allergic to oats & raisins & they put oats & raisins in my food. I asked for a 20 oz & I paid $4 more than normal price for my 20oz. Instead they send the wrong thing, phone is busy called twice.. how you gonna do this to me? green juice was spilled so it wasn’t 20oz actually it was much less than 20oz. I am upset I am not happy at all don’t do something you’re going to lose business.

I’ve been a loyal customer here for years, but lately, I’ve noticed a significant decline in the quality of service. Just the other day, I ordered an Açaí bowl and was shocked when, as I started eating in the designated seating area, the employee announced he was stepping out for a break at 1 pm. While I understand the need for lunch breaks, is it too much to ask for just 10 uninterrupted minutes to enjoy my meal? However, today was the ultimate disappointment. I ordered another Açaí bowl, only to receive it three-quarters full. When I brought this up to the employee, he simply shrugged and said his boss told him they didn’t have to fill it. It’s incredibly disheartening to receive less food for the same price. I hate to speak negatively about a small business, especially one I’ve supported for years, but after spending thousands of dollars here and experiencing such mistreatment, I’ve reached my limit. After five years of loyal patronage, I won’t be returning.

My go to for quality ginger shots and clean green juices. Always fresh and does the job.

I still love this place- however- i do think being out of blueberries for a week and now also out of strawberries is not working for me. Small business owned, super reliable place. I am a creature of habit and always get the same thing and the product is always consistent, the fruit is always just right! The staff takes good care of me too.

The girl who ruined my day may your day be wonderful You don’t even Train the people that work with the establishment to have customer service skills on a minimum level. I’ll be embarrassed if I were you. You’re never going to get a penny of my money. You can mess up one time if you mess up 5 times you don’t have any empathy. Show me where is the 16 ounces that you got my money for? We will report them to better business bureau for scamming I want my 16 ounce açai bowl. I called and spoke to a girl who is very unprofessional and make excuses for her mistake. She Promise to call me back she lied .The weight of the cup alone is 2/3 of an oz. What is your problem?

I was the first person in line to order a smoothie. The 2 people behind me received their smoothies before I did. Normally the staff takes forever but I can excuse it when 1 person is working, not 3. I paid and tipped the cashier. All 3 workers were taking orders and preparing orders. I waited over 20 minutes in the hot store to receive my order. I shouldn’t have received my order after 2 people, especially since I tipped and paid over $20. My order was handed to me warm. The staff doesn’t know how to prepare a smoothie. They don’t even know when to use ripened bananas and yellow bananas. The customer service sucked. I wasn’t even given an apology for my late order. They started making the order after handing the people behind me theirs. Please hire people who 1) know what they’re doing, and 2) are older than what seems like 16 years of age. Your staff is incompetent.

The juice is fresh and delicious. The service sucks. Four times that I have been there I feel that I am interrupting the staff from scrolling through their phone. No smile, no nothing. They are so upset to be in this job it seems. The last time I waited for a few minutes for someone to show up at the counter just to tell me she is on break. I guess that's why it's called break juicery - the staff prefers to be on break, not helping people and doing their job to make some money for the owner. I will sadly go elsewhere for my juice. I’ve never in my life been handed a freshly made smoothie and it be lukewarm, but that’s what happened today… on an 85 degree day. I’ve tried this place a couple of times before and it hasn’t been my favorite, but it’s close to where I live, so convenience sometimes has to factor in. In addition to the menu being pretty overpriced in my opinion (I paid $12 for a small smoothie with added protein), I was asked multiple times after I ordered what I had ordered and what size. There were three employees working and it took almost ten minutes to get my drink. I was the only one in the business that has ordered. They spent a bunch of time standing around talking after I’d ordered, then to be handed one of the worst smoothies I’ve ever had, for $12… I don’t think I’ll be returning again for another.

Pretty nice local juicery. It's a tiny establishment with just 3 high-top bar stools at a small bar. I visited this spot while waiting for check-in time for an AirBnB. I sat there for 30 minutes while I waited and had a phytofuel juice. It was pretty tasty, but I didn't taste any ginger in my (celery, cucumber, ginger, granny apple, lake, lemon, savoy spinach, and Swiss chard) drink. I just focused on the other fresh flavors. I took a star off because of the playoff to go containers and plastic straws, but otherwise, the service was great. The small space was really hot, considering it was an overcast cool day, and the front door was wide open. The bar area was also crazy sticky... the 4 stars are more like a generous 3.5. I'd still come back, but there are definitely better juice spots out there.

I usually come here for my beets juice. Recently , I was extremely sick and went there for a fresh orange juice and apple mix . The young lady (the cashier ) who I never saw there before advised that they don't make fresh OJ . How? when the menu states you can create your own juice and oranges is one of the fruits listed. Moreover you are a fresh juice bar and you can't make an OJ mixture or just fresh OJ. I did get three ginger shots as the nearest juice store was out of my walking distance as I was not feeling my best . The young lady was very dismissive and customer service sucked . I did order an OJ mix on Uber eats the next day o from another juice shop as I like to consume fresh Oj when sick .

This was my first time at this establishment and I was sadly disappointed. First off a verbal fight broke out between the manager and a customer which delayed my order. I must say the manager handled it well because he never cussed or yelled back at the customer. When I went to eat my bowl I noticed it was very liquidy/watery and was missing any cacao nibs (which was included on menu). I called to see if this could be fixed but was told thats just how the bowls come from now on. I was really bummed as I was looking forward to this acai bowl.

So I frequently go to break Juicery, and when they are good --they are really good. The past few times I've gone have been a different story. I ordered online using their app. I got notice that half of my ordered was cancelled, I called a couple of times no answer. Turns out they didn't have the ingredient for a smoothie-- peanut butter. However they made the açaí bowl (another item that requires peanut butter) it was by far the worst açaí bowl I've ever had. It was missing fruit and other ingredients. It was basically ice and açaí. I feel scammed. The door of the place also was partially shattered, giving the very ratchet vibes and atmosphere.

An ok place for a healthy lunch option in the area. I've only tried their main acai bowl. It feels a bit overpriced at nearly $15. I understand that fruit prices have increased, but I don't think they're truly even serving fresh fruit. The strawberries/bananas especially always taste a little bit frozen. The acai isn't always blended well (ice chunks), but the seeds/peanut butter is always tasty to mix with it. The employees are always super friendly, but they seem a bit understaffed around meal times. Both times I went there were delivery people and customers in rush hours vs one employee who has to rush to blend/make everything. I deducted a star for decor. I get the vibe they're going for, but there's a lot that needs to be repainted. There's also a lot of, well, junk just piled on the little bar area that I think is supposed to be an option for standing-eating. I've worked service jobs so I know it can be hard to clean areas, but the main front seems like it hasn't had a good scrub in a while. I don't know whether or not the cups are environmentally friendly--If they're not, then they're just poor quality cups that leak a lot. I still want to support local businesses though, so if I'm craving acai and I'm in the area, I'll choose this spot.

It was a super hot day so I decided to stop in & grab a cool down juice. Service was quick & it was cool being able to watch your drinks being made with the fresh ingredients they have around as decoration. I saw that they also had sea moss, I might try that on my next visit.

This place needs work. The chocolate peanut bowl tastes like a giant bowl of peanut butter and not in a good way. When I called to complain, the staffer admitted that the ingredients listed on their website aren't what they actually use in the store. Love the strawberries and cream bowl, but any time I've tried anything else it's been trash. Save your money and walk up the street to Quezada Juice Bar. They have more variety, better portions, and are actually affordable.

My and my friend went for a jog and came here and ordered the "cool down" and it was the perfect way to cool down ;) they are open for business and you must wear a mask . We waited outside and they were friendly enough to bring the juices out to us when they were ready. I can't wait to try an açaí bowl next time I am down there after a jog. The juice was tasty, cool and refreshing and you could tell it was just juice with no added crap :) A great spot in the neighborhood

I live in Harlem and I was searching for another smoothie place to try out in the area . The store is super cute and beautiful but the smoothies & bowls if you would call it that isn't great . I ordered 2 Acai Bowls , that actually came in cups . All the toppings were stuck on the cover and the Acai tasted more like a smoothie very frothy and watery . I also got the "Fat Burner" and when I took a sip it literally tasted like watery warm chocolate milk . I asked the lady can she add more ice or something because you could clear see it was watery . She added some and when I got it it was still the same , how can a smoothie be WARM . I just took everything and left . I drink a smoothie once a day every single day and this was by far the worst experience . I gave it 2 stars because of the stores look , I loved it but the smoothies were warm weirdly enough and bowls weren't that bad but it was a cup ... a complete NO FOR ME and I wanted to love it .

I highly recommend the açaí bowls they are all fresh! One of the best açaí bowls in the city. The employees are so nice and helpful!

Terrible. What came is not what an Açaí Bowl is or even how it's presented on their site. Ordered via UberEats. This bowl as you can see from the UberEats screenshot comes with all these things. Pictured is literally how mine showed up. So disappointed. Also, allergies to bananas so I asked for raspberry for a replacement. No raspberries. This is not even blended. Chunks of ice. No cocoa nibs. Barely any coconut flakes or almond butter. Waste of money. Waste of time. OHHHH and the size advertised is NOT the size you get. If you can, order from Juice Up. They will make you a proper açaí bowl. This is what I get for trying something new

Been coming here daily to get a Reboot for my 30 day fast. All the juices have been GREAT until yesterday 4/20/21. Ordered a 20oz Reboot. He handed me a 16oz. I told him it was 16oz and he denied it. So I showed him and he had to believe me (the cup sizes are on the counter). He came back and handed me another 16oz. Kept insisting it was 20oz so I showed him again because THE CUPS ARE ON THE COUNTER. He took back the drink. He indicated my 20 oz was ready - except I didn't hear the juicer making any new juice. Ok I thought.... maybe there was extra. I took my juice - NO RECEIPT (I asked three times for a receipt and he seemed to be stumped about the question and this was NOT an online order.) About 6 blocks away I took my first sip and it was something other than a Reboot. No carrot taste and it seemed to be fermented. I took a few more sips and stopped to tweet to BREAKJUICERY that this guy was seriously off. By the time I got home I had sipped about an inch but stomach was rumbling and that was..... well the indication today was going to have to be a stay at home one. Turns out Dude put Pineapple - I'm allergic - in my Reboot. WTF? I'M ALLERGIC. Can't say based on this I can recommend this place to anyone. Especially if this guy - who is there again this morning - is working there. You can see I never got through any of the juice before - the squirts......

One of my favorite boutique juice bars in Harlem. Super discrete and aesthetically pleasing. The decor is brick and earth. There is cool seating space, Felicia has such good energy and professionalism.

Consistent horrible, distasteful service. Attitude of young lady at the Harlem location needs to be addressed immediately. Went back today (3rd time) and even worse attitude. She literally just said 'if you're coming to buy a smoothie, then don't talk to me.' Lost a customer

I ordered the Coci Açaí bowl it had an refrigerator taste like something was old or freezer burn. Definitely wasn't fresh. I'm Really upset because I wanted to start my day off healthy but unfortunately I couldn't enjoy it or finish eating it. Healthy food is expensive so you expect quality food.

I have lived in Harlem my entire life and was pleasantly surprised to see this juice spot open. I was feeling a bit under the weather today and decided to get a boost of vitamin C, via a juice and acai bowl. While the establishment was clean and the staff pleasant, spending 40+ min in a store for 2 items was not. When I walked in there were only 3 ppl ahead of me. One had already placed their order and was waiting. That medium sized smoothie took approximately 6+ minutes then the other person ordered. I didnt realize the time passing because i was on the phone, but was shocked to note that 16 minutes had passed and the 2nd person had yet to recieve their one smoothie. Each person only ordered ONE item. At about 22 minutes in, the 3rd person ordered her bowl, that came around the 30 min mark. My order took a bit over 10 minutes. For those wondering why I stayed, i honestly dont know, under normal circumstances I would have walked out at 10min. I guess our social contract to be polite even in uncomfortable situations wins again. Blame it on my fevered body that didnt want to go out in the rain. Luckily I had sent a text as soon as I entered and when I walked out I noticed about 45min had passed. I dont know about you, but in NYC, or in any business really, that's way too long of a wait when the 3ppl in front of you ordered one item each. As far as taste, the ingredients were not balanced in the juice. Ginger should be used sparingly, and it was a bit much, and the acai bowl was ok, no real flavor. So a 3 star deduction. I'll give them another try and update accordingly (probably not if the experience is worse). But I think I rather go to my local deli for my juice fix. On another note, it saddens me that other ppl have replied negatively in their reviews to some of the other reviewers. My review is my honest opinion and I have no problems defending it, if need be.

I went on a Sunday and received excellent service from Janel that day who was so very kind and pleasant. There was a bit of a wait for the acai bowl, but it was delicious and very filling. I had previously read the reviews and kept note of the long wait times, so it wasn't a problem for me. I wouldn't try this for lunch on limited time, but it was well worth the 20 minute wait for me. Happy to see places like this sprouting up in Harlem!

I LOVE this place! I work nearby at CCNY and like to treat myself to an acai bowl or smoothie once and awhile. Everything I have tried has been fantastic. Yes, if you are unlucky and happen to drop in when there is a rush, you may have to wait awhile. If you are pressed for time, just order it beforehand over the phone or on Seamless and come by for a quick pick-up. Works for me!

The Juice is really good and fresh. The service sucks. Calling it "Break Juicery" is quite accurate because the staff is perpetually on break. I feel like I am interrupting them to order something. I have encountered three different staff who all seem to be upset to steal themselves away from their phone to bother to take my order. No smile. No nothing. One time I waited for a few minutes for someone to show up just to tell me she is on break. I guess I will take my juice biz elsewhere.

This place is great! All of their Açaí Bowls, juices and smoothies are perfect! Try the peanut butter smoothie, it's really good. If you are ordering during the Quarantine you have to order through the apps, I don't even know if they have a working phone there.

I am so happy this place is here! A solid option for great smoothies and fresh juices. I will note that on a few occasions over the last couple of months, juice-istas (people taking and making orders) have been unable to figure out how to print receipts when requested and there have been a few hiccups with my fresh oj orders (tasting not so fresh with a strong weird after taste). When I mentioned this, the juice-istas were at a loss for how to troubleshoot (I wondered if the pitcher the squeeze the juice into or the machine itself needs to be purged). Once they figure out these few kinks, this will for certain be a welcomed neighborhood gem.

Really yummy juices and acai bowls! If its a nice day i grab something and take it up with me to the park. The people who work here are always telling me about new ways to make a delicious drink and what the benefits are of each ingredient.

This is my new go-to juicery for whenever I'm in the area! Came here for their grand opening not too long ago and the shop was immaculate and the staff was super welcoming. They have a variety of juices and food to choose from. I don't remember the name of the smoothie that I got, but it was green and super yummy!

Today I was looking forward to trying Break Juicery but a store employee denied us service 20mins before closing time because "she had something to do" and wanted to close the store. I find that unacceptable.

Service, staff and quality are A+++! They take their craft seriously when it comes to their delicious smoothies, açaí bowls, juices, etc. I usually don't like ginger in my juices, but I took a chance and their green juice is amazing! The on the go bottles make my life so much easier when I'm in a rush. Definitely recommend stopping by here for a refreshingly healthy treat after the gym, before, morning, lunch, whenever!

Super yummy juices! I tried the cool down and it was great! The service was fast and they made ur easy for me to quickly stop in and get a juice to go.

This is by far my favorite place to go to whenever I want something healthy. It's my guilty pleasure!!! The service is so inviting- everyone who works there makes an effort to know my name and always take the time to talk to me. The fruits that they use are the freshest. I've gone there for smoothies, protein shakes, açaí bowls, and shots whenever I feel under the weather. It's the best way to satisfy my sweet tooth in a healthy way. With BreakJuicery you can count on great service, excellent options, and a place that you will visit multiple times!

This was a very pleasant surprise for me. I had some business to do in the area with the Harlem School of the Arts (which is right around the corner from this beautiful little spot) and someone there recommended I drop in at BreakJuicery. Normally a juice is a juice is a juice, so I wasn't all that thrilled, but they kept insisting. So, I did and I have never been so wrong. I had the "Reboot" (with a little kale thrown in) and it was perfectly mixed. I love ginger, but so many places either don't put in enough or put in way too much. It not only overpowers, but burns. Same with lemon. Too much and it hurts, not enough and it gets lost. Not here! All of the ingredients worked perfectly together (beets!) and the kale fit right in without notice. I got all the benefits and none of the bitter and the staff couldn't have been nicer. I left refreshed and sharp as a tack. Reboot indeed! Next time I'm in the neighborhood I'll definitely drop in to try everything else.

I'm really happy this place opened up by me! My favorite is the açaí with turmeric so delicious! Staff is very friendly and I was told they are going to have more food soon besides the yummy soup they offer now. Highly recommended :-)

I have to admit, BreakJuicery was definitely great. Very comfortable, clean, and beyond friendly. Everything I've tried up until now is awesome. Staff are extremely pleasant and service is really swift. You should give them a try!

I don't know what that reviewer below is talking about (she must be a miserable human being or something)... because this place is an absolute GEM! I walked in and instantly felt welcomed. Owner greeted me and let me take my time deciding and even gave some suggestions. I absolutely LOVE the green tropical bowl! So refreshing and delicious! They clearly make all of their bowls with such care and dedication, and you can tell the owner has been in the restaurant industry for some time, as he really does a great job making sure you're satisfied and right at home. They have plenty of outlets below the window seats to charge your phone, and FREE WIFI. A really great variety of things to try on the menu, so I can't wait to keep trying more as this is definitely going to be a new neighborhood mainstay of mine!

I like this place because the owner is a nice guy. They make okay stuff- but it takes 30 minutes to make one smoothie. It's absolutely absurd. No really, you have to WAIT A LONG TIME FOR ONE SMOOTHIE It takes longer to get one smoothie than a full course meal at a restaurant.Staff obviously they don't like their job very much.

This is so far my favorite açaí bowl place I've been to. They have so many selections and toppings to choose from and they taste amazing. The people who work here are extremely friendly as well and will customize any smoothie/bowl for you.

I hate that I have to be negative because I was really excited. I live in the area and wanted to try this new place. I was super excited when we walked in nobody greeted or acknowledged us that was the first sign then 3 people ordered after us all received their orders and once I got my açaí bowl it was terrible they did not blend it completely still had chunks in it. Honestly this was one of the worst experience I've ever had at a juice bar. A smoothie and açaí bowl $20 OVERPRICED ! I will never go back there and won't recommend to anyone.

No... just no... I ordered a green juice, (which I had ordered before and it was good the time I ordered it) but the second time, the owner added beets to it, even thought the juice does not call for beets, and so I was a very confused to receive a "green juice" that was red, not green... I told the owner that the last time I got that same juice, it was green not red. He said that "the grapefruit he used was really red".... No grapefruit is going to turn a whole juice with green vegetables in it RED. I tried the juice and as I suspected, it had an overwhelming beet flavor. It's suspicious that he put beets in a juice that didn't call for beets, and even worse that he lied straight to my face, as if I wouldn't TASTE the strong beet flavor in my juice. Extremely disappointed and unacceptable, I could've been allergic or have a sensitivity to beets??? Also these juices are like 10$ each, TRUST ME when I say it's not worth it. Also the açaí bowls lack flavor and don't seem very fresh. There was raw oats on top of mine.

Lovely new addition to the Hamilton Heights/Harlem neighborhood. The owner (Lorenzo) and the staff are pleasant and welcoming. The acai bowls are delish (I ordered the Coco Acai Bowl) and the pre-made food selection is fresh. Thank you Break Juicery for a great experience - I'll be back again soon!

The juices are delicious- best I've had by a juice bar. They're made fresh while you wait! They are sensitive to dietary resistrictions and are happy to alter the ingredients to fit your needs! Very friendly staff and really clean, well designed space! So happy it's near by my house!
