These Are the Best Beach Towns in Georgia, According to Locals

"I’d go for the waffles here — they’re specifically called out as a must-try breakfast item on Tybee Island." - Lydia Mansel Lydia Mansel Lydia Mansel is a writer with more than eight years of experience editing and writing for both brands and online publications—with a particular focus on travel, fashion, and lifestyle. The 15 Best Restaurants In Savannah, Georgia

"After a big night out on River Street or before a day relaxing on the beach at Tybee Island, come to The Breakfast Club. Counter seats and tables along the tight row of booths can be hard to come by on weekends, but that’s because the diner really excels in breakfast, including crispy hashbrowns, stuffed-to-the-brim omelets, pecan-filled waffles, and creamy grits. The burgers are another highlight, cooked to perfection on the griddle and topped with bacon and cheese, but you’ll have to get one for an early lunch—the restaurant closes by 12:30pm. Unless you’re a burger-for-breakfast kind of person, in which case, you have our full support." - caroline eubanks

Best Restaurants Around the South Recommended by Atlanta Chefs and Bartenders | Eater Atlanta

"Whenever Juan Cortes, beverage manager of the Chastain, is traveling close to Savannah, he always plans a visit to this famous Tybee Island spot, whose chef helped cater John F. Kennedy Jr.’s wedding. “Imagine Waffle House food cooked by a world-renowned chef,” Cortes says. “Last time I was there, the chef was working the line with his son. His wife was running the door. I remember talking to her, and she told me a story about how she met the queen of England once.”" - Kris Martins

While a little scruffy and worn about the edges, this little breakfast place is a gem of a find! We arrived just before 11 and there was a line at the door. Don’t worry though, it moves pretty fast; we only stood about 5 or 10 minutes. There was a line like that the whole time we were in the restaurant. Christina was our waitress and boy is she a dynamo. She works as hard as an owner might seeing to her customers. The food takes a bit to come out but the wait is worth it. I chose the Philly Cheesesteak Omelette. It was amazing and really hit the spot. My husband ordered a pecan waffle with a side of their homemade sausage patty. He enjoyed his waffle and I got to taste the patty which was very flavorful.

Let's start with the wait for the food. More than 45 minutes... The good thing is that they gave us coffee every 5 minutes... I went into the women's bathroom and the smell of cockroaches is very strong and the toilet is dirty... The waitresses were friendly... The food was ok... There were two of us and we waited as if there were 10 of us... More than 45 minutes. To top it off, I asked the waitress what I wanted and she answered the following: "I'm sorry, I wrote down the order but I forgot to pass it in... There are a lot of people today... Should I order it now? I asked how much longer the wait would be?" And she answered 2 minutes... I'm not leaving because we're hungry and there aren't many places open at this time... I don't want to think that it was discrimination... because the other tables of Americans did receive their food and quickly...

First they tell you to wait outside until someone comes to get you. When we finally get in, they seat us at a dirty table by the door. The waitress that came to the table , looked like she just got out of bed and wouldn’t look us in the eye. This is when it went downhill. A waitress (not sure if she was manager also), but she and one of the cooks start shouting at each other in front of customers. It’s was horrible. Then she started confronting another cook, who eventually walked out and just left. We got our food at different times, just my husband and I. I mentioned when I ordered I have Celiacs Disease. Our waitress had not idea what it was. I think all restaurants should teach their employees about allergies to food. When I finally got my food, it was cold. The place was filthy like it wasn’t ever cleaned. In my 20’s I was a Service Coordinator for 5 restaurants. I trained all the waitresses at those 5 Restaurants. Anyway, our waitress never checked on us again. She was behind the counter helping the cooks , commend her for that. The food was so so and I worried about a stomach problem later after. I would give it a 0 if I could. The next day we went to Sunrise Restaurant and it was wonderful. We will never go back again to Breakfast Club and do not recommend eating there. Wish I had some pictures. P.S. The music was so loud you couldn’t think.

Very small restaurant. Food was good. This is a very unique local breakfast spot. Highlight was the puppy breakfast.

Like the other reviews, they “forgot” our ticket and have been waiting more than an hour to get our food. My mother-in-law was waiting in a wheelchair, up to the point where they cut the music indoors for closing… But they still served us anyway and even had a “happy bday whip” surprise. The waitress was amazing— she is the backbone of this place considering our family was large and the last table and had 2 energetic toddlers with us. Thank god the food was pretty amazing, the country fried steak and pecan waffles were so good.

We ate breakfast here twice. Consistently good. But a very busy place. After 8 am there’s always a line outside. They offered me a to go coffee!

I'm sure they do not order gloves often since they never changed them. As I sat watching, I wondered what it would be like to be Gordon Ramsey and to shut a place down and rip the staff apart. Watching the cooks go from handling tickets, then meat, veggies, breaking eggs, and hash browns. The cross contamination was scary. All with the same gloved hand. My wife had a pecan waffle and chicken fried chicken. The chicken was a frozen pre-processed chicken patty that you could get in any grocery store. It was bad as expected. The waffle was unendated with pecans and some waffle to hold it together. The shame was the waitress didn't ask if there was something wrong since she only took a couple bites. Lastly, my wife asked for orange juice. When it came the waitress set it on the table and pulled a straw from her back pocket. I would say the 2 was generous.

Best breakfast, maybe best meal, in Tybee. You will wait outside before being seated. There's a reason why people wait.
