The 17 Best Restaurants & Bars In Breckenridge, Colorado - Denver - The Infatuation

"Breckenridge Distillery doesn’t just make the official bourbon and vodka of the Denver Broncos—it’s also the world’s highest distillery at 9,600 feet, and sells bottles you can't find anywhere else. You could spend an entire day trying different kinds of gin, vodka, rum, and whiskey here, but they also have a tasting room downtown if you don’t have time to catch the free bus to the north side of town. If sipping on high-proof whiskeys from a tiny glencairn glass doesn’t sound like your idea of a good time, they also have a cocktail list with plenty of boozy (and tasty) nods to pop culture icons. Make sure to try the Obi-Wan Old Fashioned with port cask whiskey, barrel-aged bitters, brandied cherry, and raw simple syrup. " - Anne Cruz

I scheduled a private tour for a bachelorette party and it was the best decision I ever made! Everyone had a great time. Our tour guide, David, was extremely friendly and adjusted the tour to suit what we were looking to know. The products were top notch. And other staff, like Lucas, were also super welcoming and provided a great experience for learning about distilling. Can’t wait to purchase some of there offerings!

We recently did a tour of Breck Distillery with tour guide Ricardo. He was admittedly newer to the distillery and to being a tour guide, but did a fantastic job! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the space, the process and the behind the scenes. We have done many distillery tours, from micro-distilleries to large scale distilleries and this tour did not disappoint. We also enjoyed the extra add-on tasting afterwards where he really helped us find what suited our palates best and gave us ideas of how to mix certain spirits (or not when they were best neat/on the rocks). We stayed for happy hour drinks and apps, but wished we had made plans to have dinner there--next time! We would definitely recommend this tour to others and will likely be back if we are in the area again in the future. It is family friendly, but is probably best suited for adults in my opinion (kiddos will likely get bored).

I recently visited this distillery and it exceeded all my expectations. Nestled in a picturesque setting, the views were absolutely stunning, offering a perfect backdrop for a relaxing afternoon. The highlight, aside from the scenery, was definitely the food. The appetizers were not only delicious but creatively crafted, showcasing local ingredients. Each dish paired wonderfully with the drinks, enhancing the overall experience. Speaking of drinks, their happy hour was fantastic. A great selection of cocktails at a reasonable price made it an excellent value. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, offering recommendations that truly elevated our visit. Overall, this distillery is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy breathtaking views, tasty bites, and quality drinks.

Google
Matt and David were extremely helpful. Very knowledgeable and actually got me to do the distillery tour after visiting the tasting room. Started out as a way to kill time waiting on traffic and turned into an awesome experience that got me to buy multiple bottles. Great bourbon and great service at both tasting room and distillery tour. Will be back.

Google
You can't go wrong here...period! The service is attentive and not overbearing, the cocktail list is endless and everything on it tastes fabulous! The food is also really good and makes you want to try more and more. Did the 420 Tots...seasoned beef, cheddar. Pico, cream, all over crispy tots. Was the perfect snack! Wanted to try the sticky ribs and spicy Asian chicken which both looked amazing, but had no room. The selection of spirits is large and there is somthing for everyone!

Google
Decided to make a quick stop. Had samples at arrival. Decided to get a snack after skiing all day. Customer next to me suggested the ribs. They were TO DIE FOR! So tender, fell off the bone, great flavor, and presentation was nice. I had a pear cocktail that was yummy. My server Bryan was so polite and fun as a server. I didn't have time to do the tour but maybe next time. All the staff from the time I walked in was great! The host rocked this homemade sweater that I just had to get a pic. She was polite and allowed me to take a pic. Maybe I should of gotten a pic of all of her. She was so sweet.

Google
Of course the whiskey is top notch, the food is decent also. We went during Happy Hour and were quite pleased by our meals. My partners cocktail was top notch and the whiskey flight was great. The flight tasting really helped to determine which bottles we would purchase to bring home. Ask for a tasting and you will not be disappointed. Drink PowderHound! So smooth and satisfying!

Google
The staff at the distillery was very accommodating. We got there in between lunch and dinner service and they took great care of us during their break. The cocktails were yummy and their whiskeys and bourbons were very tasty as well. Leave the kids at home and swing by the distillery after a day in the slopes. You won’t regret it. They have delicious food and libations complimented by an outdoor patio with great ambiance.

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick drink and became fast friends with Ugen and Rachel. They both were knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about their jobs. Ricardo is more than happy to walk you through tastings and distillation process insights. If you have time, the distillery tour is fascinating and gives you a behind-the-scenes look at their small-batch production methods. You Rock! The Olson's (McKinney Tx)

Yelp
A fan from the first purchase of a bottle for a friend. I purchased at a Costco in Chicago. He likes only beer so I kept it. Now been to this distillery 3 times and tasted almost everything at the Keystone Bacon and Bourbon Festival. This is a great design and decor inside with amazing displays of all things Bourbon and an incredible restaurant. Fun and professional staff. Now more selection than ever. Gin, Vodka in various flavors. Scotch, whiskey and Bourbon

Yelp
They are located in an a mixed residential and Industrial park north of Breckenridge Their private parking lot can hold about 40 cars. One of the Breckenridge Free ride buses comes by every 20 minutes. You walk down a gravel path to the entrance. They have all of their spirits ranging from $35 to $375 on one wall + glassware and swag. The opposite wall is where you get free tastings of almost all spirits, except the double cask whiskey for $375. No limits. I had arranged a distillery tour at 2pm only 1 week before. Cost was $35 + tax and limited to 10 people (no children). The tour was 1 hr long and covered history of Breckenridge Distillery, past and current distillation techniques + 2 or more tastings. Our guide was nice. He answered everyone's questions. We saw the original 500 gallon copper still with 3 openings to extract the ethanol before being aged in American Oak barrels. U.S. law says bourbon whiskey can only be aged in American Oak. All other whiskies can be aged in Port, Rum or Sauternes barrels. The amount of char on the inside can influence the color and flavors of whiskies. Very informative. I stayed for Happy Hour (daily from 2pm-5pm). I had a Port cask Old Fashioned ($10). My food included a large gem salad with lots of grated parmesan and a prime rib cheesesteak sandwich with tater tots. Low prices for Breckenridge.

Yelp
Good tasting service from Blake for a large tasting party until after multiple purchases by our party including myself Blake made an arbitrary and capricious decision to allow a member of my party to have a 10% local discount but not myself. We both own property in Breckenridge and have similar local ID Disappointing and stupid Won't be back

Yelp
The VIP tour was fun for our group of 10. Our guide, David, did an excellent job and was very informative. We arrived before our tour time but they were slightly behind. That was ok because we had time to peruse the retail shop and take photos in the front. The only critiques I have are, small groups kept coming into the back of the room and became distracting at times while David was speaking and we were not able to see the warehouse of barrels because there was a party going on in there. Also for the price paid, I wish we could have walked away with a gift such as a branded Glencairn like other distilleries I've visited. We still had a good time.

Yelp
Two stars only because the liquor itself is decent. Service deserves 0 stars. We went in as it was part of a stop during a bike tour. When we walked in on a Tuesday afternoon, we were not greeted by the one male server that was working there. He waited until we approached him and asked how the tastings worked. He quickly said, everything on the left is a free shot part of your tour and the ones on the right are offered as a tasting flight. Perhaps it was too much for our group to think we would be greeted with a smile and given a bit of explanation behind their vodka, gin and bourbon offerings. Terrible service. I would not recommend stopping in. It's a shame that one person can ruin such a strong name when it comes to Bourbon in Breckenridge.

Yelp
Do NOT trust them to ship to Texas. They use a 3rd-party service called "Barcart." Barcart will tell you they can ship via UPS to a FedexKinko's location, but FedEx will refuse to accept the package. You don't want to ship to a UPS location, because UPS will charge you $50 because the package is heavy. Your shipment will then disappear. When you call to complain, the guy in the Distillery warehouse will tell you he's sorry, but it isn't his problem. When you call Barcart, they will tell you they're sorry, but it isn't their problem either. When you make a claim with UPS, your claim will never be updated. And there you'll be, 3 weeks after you placed the order, $200 poorer, and without the 6 bottles of booze you wanted to gift as Christmas presents.

Yelp
One of my favorite distilleries and happened to be in town for a family trip so we decided to see what their food was like. Admittedly we thought it would be some average bar food but we couldn't have been more wrong. The cocktails, food, and service were exceptional. Libby took amazing care of us and we enjoyed some incredibly thoughtful side dishes followed by some of the best steak we've had in Colorado. Give this place a try!

Yelp
What a cool place!! If you like local made spirits combined with fine dining come check this place out! We wanted to taste their different whiskeys and so we came for the free tasting option. Which lets you try two spirits at no cost and then they have options to upgrade. My buddy and I upgraded to the $8 option that allows you to try three of the premier whiskeys. Needless to say everything we tried was great I can recommend this whiskey as one to get. The tasting area is a standing bar area so make sure you don't expect to sit unless you book one of the higher end tastings which require a reservation. (Not a downside just a note) The staff were all very friendly and we decided to stay for a while and managed to get a spot at the chefs table. You get to see certain food items made right in front of you and the guys were even nice enough to entertain questions by my ignorant self. While perusing the menu we were looking at just getting an old fashioned when we discovered the drink of drinks at this fine establishment, the goblet of fire. Yes it's $35 and yes you will not experience another drink like this anywhere else so needless to say it's worth every penny. We decided to split the drink because this was more about the experience than drinking it and this drink is just as much about the presentation as the flavor (although it is good for those who are ginger inclined). They deliver a mini barrel to you and upon taking the lid off smoke rises from the barrel and the drink. We were able to smoke one of the old fashions as well and as it turns out smoked is better than un smoked! We didn't partake in any of the cuisine but based on what I saw happen at the chefs bar it would be worth it. Let's finish this one of high school essay style shall we. In conclusion, the Breckinridge distillery has managed to not only make a fine whiskey but to also develop a fine dining and drinking experience that everyone should check out.

Yelp
Had a great time during the tour if you go make sure to ask for Eli he was a great tour guide.

Yelp
Did not enjoy this tasting experience. We drove out to Breckenridge Distillery to hopefully try a flight of their whiskies. It's a sort of rushed experience where it's clear they just want you to buy bottles. Half shots are served to you in small plastic cups, the "guide" not very friendly, no seating just standing....just not really much of an experience at all. Also honestly did not like the whisky... We did not go to the restaurant, that may have been a totally different experience.

Yelp
This was our last stop In Breckenridge. We tasted several but liked both of the Broncos and a rum barrel aged. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
Pleasant, knowledgeable staff. Unique takes on global good, which was well done. The pork bits with pineapple was addictive! The cocktails are well crafted and hot the spot after a day of riding!

Sarah M.

Yelp
Made a reservation for the Founder's experience tasting which I highly recommend. It was nice to have a private tasting led by one staff member. Cannot remember who led our tasting but he was incredibly knowledgeable and we had a lot of fun discussing scotch and various whiskies with him. All four of us each got different flights, so we could taste what everyone else got. Really enjoyed the variety of their product offerings and most of the prices were decent. Their Dark Arts is a bit overpriced in my opinion but I did enjoy the Two Clans which is a mix of that and some Scotch they procured from across the pond. Overall a very fun experience and I would do it again.
google avatar

Kate M.

Yelp
This was a stop on our bike tour. I'm not a whiskey person but the hubs is. He liked the Two Clans.

Yelp
The food is great and is on par or better than several spots in the area. The spots in comparison, range from better and up for Summit County. Get the uchepo, it is really good. If you want good food, quantity, and don't mind the price. Go here. I personally think it is worth the price. The portions can be generous. I am a big eater and I was about to explode near the $100 mark (one drink, with generous tip). For comparison, I was barely feeling something with the 7-course tasting menu at another upscale restaurant in the area, IYKYK (btw, another good place to eat). I assume most of you reading this will be satiated with much less food, maybe more drinking.

Yelp
If I could give negative stars I would. It's been close to a year since my wife and I returned. Customer base and employee status has gotten phenomenally worse. We both figured after a year they would have cleaned house and got rid of some of their toxic employees and it doesn't seem so. We used to think one of the bartenders was the reason but we were both wrong it seems as though one in particular bartender a skinny female with dark hair is the real root of the problem she is very arrogant unbelievably curt and short with employees and customers alike. Their customer base has reached an all-time low if you want to hang around drunk locals, who are very rude and have no boundaries for personal space go to RMU. I highly recommend never coming to the Breckenridge distillery.

Briann T.

Yelp
We had a most phenomenal experience with Marston! We tried their new food and whiskey tasting and it was his first time presenting it. The food was great and paired with ample tastings of their contributions to the world of whiskey. We even purchased two of their bottles that are finished in barrels that add dimensions to their already amazing basic whiskey.
google avatar

Yelp
This was such a great experience! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. I heard of Breckenridge Distillery from the Omaha Whiskey Fest this year and knew if I ever made the trip to Breckenridge this was a must see! I'm so glad I did! I couldn't decide what drink to get and was recommended the Davy Jones' Locker. Holy buckets I'm pretty sure it was the best whiskey drink I've ever had! I was there for lunch and the limited menu was a little disappointing at first, but I'm glad it was because I probably wouldn't have ordered The Big Daddy. Again such a good recommendation! Ended up purchasing a bottle of the Rum Cask Finish Whiskey. Next time I'll definitely be making a dinner reservation and going all out!
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly service, delicious food and reasonable prices. The outdoor patio is dog friendly and a beautiful place to grab a bite. The brisket was nice and tender and had the best smoked taste. We had to drive so unfortunately couldn't try their cocktails but the menu was quite funny.

Chris B.

Yelp
We did the VIP tour with David. It was the best tour we've had out of the dozen or so we've done. We got a full rundown of their operation and tasted anything they had available. He answered all of our questions no matter how off the wall they were and let us just have a great time. Would definitely recommend the VIP tour and make it an experience.
google avatar

Matt D.

Yelp
Great spirits and good food (if somewhat overpriced). My fiancée and I were hoping to host our Wedding Reception here... unfortunately the Event Coordinator was very rude/unprofessional with us, so we will be spending several thousand dollars elsewhere. In fact, I don't really see myself eating here or even buying a bottle again. They've made it clear they're not hurting for customers or clients... if you're in the area, I'd recommend having enough self-respect to go someplace else, save some $$$, and get friendlier service from people who are at least willing to pretend like they want your business.
google avatar

Darrin B.

Yelp
I refuse to entertain the "short on staff" excuse to explain why four people who had just completed a tasting could not get a drink in an empty room at 4 p.m. on a Monday last week. We ate, drank, shopped and did outdoor excursions all through Breckenridge, Dillon and Frisco last week and the only place we got bad service was at Breckenridge Distillery. That is the only place that played the "Wah, no one wants to work!" card. Maybe no one wants to work for YOU. Given how we were treated by the hostess, I can't imagine how she treats staff. When your own employees are walking you out to the parking lot to apologize and give you suggestions as to other places to go, you've got a problem. Fix it.

Matt M.

Yelp
Rude managers! They said they would sit us and after waiting over an hour, the manager decided to take our name off the list without telling us. Once we followed up they said they can no longer sit us. They wouldn't even let us go to the open bar and grab a drink. Very disappointed.

Scott C.

Yelp
Excellent food with amazing drinks and atmosphere! The prime rib was one of the best I ever had.
google avatar

Kera K.

Yelp
EXTREMELY disappointing. We love coming here and today we were rejected FROM SITTING OUTSIDE since we had our dog. We were told to go inside and see what they had inside but the dog couldn't come....why would I leave my dog outside!? On top of it all people were being seated side by side pretty close. Why is it not okay to sit outside on a freaking beautiful day WITH FRESH AIR. Probably will not come back until y'all can get your shit together. I am safer outside away from a packed restaurant during COVID than what y'all were doing inside.
google avatar

Colter M.

Yelp
Worst experience, wanted to purchase bottles for friends and myself, gave me no info, rude when asking about trying drinks, one employee got angry about mask being below my nose. Don't go here. Awful experience. Won't be drinking their bourbon again..

Don B.

Yelp
Stopped in for a tasting like I've done at several distilleries, Lucas made us feel very welcome and not intimidated as other places have. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and gave us some recommendations for lunch as the on-site restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Stop in and enjoy a belt.

Dawn Y.

Yelp
When we first entered, we were told to stand over near an opening and someone would be with us. Several employees were standing there but no one acknowledged us. After 5-8 minutes we finally asked for help. Menu was not as we reviewed on line. Choices were poor. When we asked, we were told this is our "covid menu". Food quality was poor and way overpriced for what we were served. To say the least, not what we were expecting and walked away very disappointed. Would not recommend.

Brandin B.

Yelp
My wife and I did what ended up being a private tasting with Erin. I did the cask finish and my wife the chocolate paired tasting. We both absolutely loved it, Erin made it an incredible experience. We also got to meet her Opel who is a sweetheart. The restaurant had no availability but Erin was able to get us a table anyway. Will for sure be back! Also let Erin make her Brothel tasting lineup and give that lady a raise!
