I’ve been following this bakery’s instagram for a while now, and I finally got to drive up to Whistler from Vancouver this week. I’ve been a big fan, and as a home baker/beginner sourdough maker, I’ve enjoyed using the recipes from the book (I wish I’d brought it to get it signed). My whole family loved the baguette and the country loaf so much. I regret not getting more and am considering making the long drive again soon.

Google
Ed’s Bred was amazing, and all the bake goods are 100% organic plant based. The best ever sourdough dough bread I could image. They were really bake with love. I traveled all the way from lower mainland to try out one of a kind bakery shop. And it worth the effort to drive for a one day fun trip. The cross breads that we had reserved ahead of time were delicious and we could not get enough of them. Thank you Ed!

I couldn’t wait to visit this one of a kind 100% plant based organic sourdough bakery. We had such a warm welcome this morning at Ed’s Bred. Their loaves and all their freshly baked goods were so well presented. We could see the bakers working in harmony in this beautifully designed bread shop. We bought some Country sourdough loaf, cookies, cinnamon bun and I couldn’t resist to get some of their sourdough starter and their superb autographed book. This is the best Country sourdough loaf I’ve ever tasted. Such a thin crispy crust with a heavenly soft open crust. I literally ate half of the loaf! Their cookies are amazing too with just enough crunch, chewy texture, perfect balance of sweet and a bit of salt. So yummy and generous! I really admire how they work and how they respect the environment and their local ingredients. This place is way above my expectations. I recommend to every bread lover and I already can’t wait to be back!

Google
Exceptional bakery in Creekside. A real gem! Hard to choose from the delicious selection and everything tastes so good! The coffee is excellent too and I’m very particular about my coffee. Everything is vegan too.

Google
A cute little shop! I love when you can see the shop preparing whatever they sell. I got a pecan cinnamon roll with frosting along with a lavender matcha. It was all so good and fresh! I couldn't wait to eat the cinnamon roll! If I am ever in the area again I'd go back! Plus it's plant based! I didn't have to question what I was eating. That's the best part 🙌🏼

Google
Without exaggeration from a bread lover who tasted 1000s all over the world - this is one of the best breads ever! And any loaf or baguette or their sweet or savory goodies! The dough is perfect! The organic ingredients paired with Whistler spring water and passion for healthy, delicious food make the experience fantastic and of course the staff is lovely 💓 Thank You!

Google
They open wed-sun only. And this time we made it to taste their vegan bread. I like the sticky bun. And cinnamon one. Very unique place in creekside village. Hopefully they can expand to vancouver.

Google
This must be the coolest cafe vibe in Whistler! Incredible that it’s all plant based too - such amazing coffee, bread and treats. I just had their new summer drink made with coconut milk and locally grown Pemberton strawberry and rhubarb puree and they were kind enough to tailor it for me, subbing chocolate instead of matcha even when the place was packed. Owned by a cool Brit couple who have brought their amazing vibe and skills to Whistler. I love that their sourdough bread is organic and the sourdough waffle pop-up they ran over winter was incredible too! Definitely recommend a stop off at this buzzy little Creekside joint, and also following their insta for mouth-watering reels 😍

Yelp
Did my husband think I was crazy for planning our one year wedding anniversary entirely around a vegan cinnamon bun? Yes. Did the cinnamon bun prove itself worth the journey to another country and justify my insanity? Absolutely. I'm so glad we made it here because the pastries are just THAT good. Melt in your mouth - full of flavor - and embodies the taste of homemade. Truly next level and I will be back.

Yelp
Cute little shop that is located in a less touristy area. The shop looked pretty inviting and cute. They had some non-dairy options, which was nice. I got this bread with olives and mushroom on top. I also got a cinnamon roll. I get that this is a sourdough bakery but the cinnamon roll was really sour and not rich like most cinnamon rolls are. The combo of the sweet/cinnamon and sour just didn't work for this item. The olives and mushroom bread was okay. It was all on the pricier side because I think two items costed $17 Canadian. Maybe I got the wrong breads?

Yelp
Great little bakery with delicious bread. My only complaint is that there is no inside seating and they only have non dairy milk for their coffees. Service was amazing, we took a long time to decide what we wanted and held up the line but the guys was super helpful and friendly the whole time.

Yelp
Super cute store with a few counter seating available. The sourdough bread in any form is amazing and must have. The staff will ask if you want hummus and olives made in store and you should say yes! The pastries and coffee are also impressive. We make a stop on the way out of whistler so bring bread home.

Yelp
This is a destination bakery, for sure. As a hobby sourdough baker, I was fangirling a little bit to be in the presence of Ed and all of his amazing bread. I went in a few times while we were there for the week, but I managed to keep my cool, not giving away how excited I was to be there. I can't wait to get my copy of his book when it comes out! I'm really amped to learn about his processes and to expand my knowledge of vegan baking (you're telling me I can brioche without eggs and butter???) The bakery is set up with a very clean aesthetic, giving an open view to the bakers as they perform their magic. The ladies who took our order each time were very helpful and kind. Very knowledgeable about everything that they had to offer. There are some good bakeries in Whistler. But this is the best. Hands down. There is an art to sourdough baking that takes time, patience, trial, and failure. Ed has mastered it. We had an assortment of things throughout the week, but my favorite was the focaccia with olives. Not to brag, but my focaccia is the best. But Ed's is better. The only one i have ever had that's better than mine. I've never considered doing an individual size before and can't wait to get home to experiment!

Yelp
BRed was my favorite food spot while vacationing in Whistler from San Luis Obispo, CA. Everything we ordered was delicious and organic. Coffee, decaf as well, desserts, sourdough and hummus. I wish I could have loaded up my suitcase with all of these items. I'll definitely visit it again. Yum! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
BReD is the best!! Everything is 100% plant based (vegan) and freaking amazing. All coffee and drinks are served with your choice of non-dairy milk at no upcharge. They have soy, almond, oat, and coconut. Their chai is made in-house with coconut milk and they can top it with coconut whip cream for you - it's SO good. It's on the spicy side but that's how I like it. Their sticky buns are a classic, and this visit they had a walnut sourdough sticky bun with Pemberton blueberry jam that blew my mind. It was huge, tasty, and fluffy. We come back here every time we make the trip to Whistler!

Yelp
The sourdough bread was amazing! Unfortunately they sell out a lot so it's better to come in the morning before they run out if you do want sourdough bread.

Nancy L.

Yelp
This review is nearly exclusively for the sticky bun. They make a divine sticky bun. Coffee is great too with Nondairy creamers. I'm excited to activate the bread starter that they sell.

Yelp
Bred is one of our family's favorite spots in Creekside! Check out their specialty breads on Saturday, but be sure to get there early before it sells out! My favorite is the olive sourdough bread. Bred also sells delicious pastries (sticky buns and scones!). Bred is an absolute must, enjoy!

Yelp
Organic deliciousness- you can tell and taste the love that is put into all of the offerings here. Had the cinnamon rolls, strawberry almond sticky bun, strawberry rhubarb crumble- and then promptly came back 5" later and got a fresh out of the oven olive focaccia. Gluttony at its finest but so worth the calories!! Love that everything is organic, local, small business - to the people complaining about a lack of space to eat your treats- there are plenty of places outside and wouldn't you rather have their square footage dedicated to baking (which is entirely visible when you enter the shop- a definite plus) - this is not Starbucks or factory food and coffee. Staff was very helpful and enthusiastic. Our poor focaccia was devoured before it could even cool down- currently trying to ration the last bites of sticky bun and rhubarb crumble.

Yelp
One of the perks of staying at Creekside. During COVID, I waited outside in the snow for their sourdough. We've had several varieties, like sourdough, sprouted buckwheat, rye, you name it. Even their olives and hummus are great. I've also been eyeing their cinnamon rolls but haven't pulled the trigger. Even their coffee is awesome. Go and support this local bakery!

Yelp
Follow your nose when you're creekside and you'll still be upon Bred and can surely find a line out the door. Definitely a great place to stop in for a midday ski snack too! All items here are vegan and you really can't tell. I tried the beans on toast and the sticky bun and both were amazing!! I'll be back to try more next time.

Yelp
This place seems to have no fibre in their bread, as the employees seem to have something stuck up their.... We went there yesterday and got focaccia bread, carrot cake and cookies. The focaccia was good enough to make the 5 minute trek back the following day (Was told that in order to get the cinnamon buns we would need to arrive at 7:30 am in the most condescending and reluctant voice. It was 2:30 pm and guess what! They had them. After spending 50 dollars, was told that it would be impossible to put the balsamic glaze on the bread. It would be one thing if you had seating in the store to facilitating eating, However a couple chairs don't really count? Simply asked if we could put it in one of their coffee cups as we were saving paper by stacking the focaccia bread and the ladies looked at me as if I were speaking alien. Finally who I believed was the owner said it would be 20 cents extra for it. Food is great. No where really to sit. Unfriendly and arrogant service. I think it's better there is no where to sit as I wouldn't want to deal with the staff any longer. If you go in there, know what you want and don't ask any questions.

Yelp
I can't believe that this place hasn't already been put on the Yelp map, but here goes. On a recent pit stop in Whistler, Bred had a sign board set up in the Creekside Plaza shopping area that announced their presence, and I followed the proverbial bread crumb trail. They are a 100% plant-based bakery specializing in sourdough loaves, but during my early morning visit, they also had tempting cinnamon rolls and other delicious baked goods on offer, as well as a full complement of coffees, teas, and other forms of caffeine rejuvenation. I took one of their mammoth whole wheat chocolate chip cookie to eat on a hike, and it had just the right amount of high quality dark chocolate and sea salt. It was a pleasure to eat, and the fact that it was vegan didn't compromise the flavor in any way. The interior of the shop is also really pleasing, with an open kitchen where you can see them preparing the bread. I'm all for a quality independent bakery/coffee spot, and I wish that they had an outpost in Vancouver, but for now, I'll have to look forward to another journey to Whistler!

Yelp
Solid sourdough! Limited selection of anything else though was a bit disappointing but it's a bread place and they do that really well!

Yelp
We finally made it to Whistler and got to load up at Ed's BReD and it was so good we came back 3 days later to get another haul just before they are closed for a few weeks. It was totally worth the 4 hour round trip drive. Both the pizza style tartine an the mushroom one were sooooo good. Couldn't choose a favorite (still waiting to try the baked beanz and the olive version but I'm sure they will be wonderful. The treats were perfect. The carrot cake, cinnamon buns buns the chickpea blondie (my newest addiction ) are perfectly balanced flavor. They are obviously a dessert/treat but not overly sweet. Even the topping for the cinnamon buns and carrot cake are definitely not sugary sweet which makes for a better result. Lastly we are just starting the sourdough loaf and it is beautifully moist inside while having the traditional crust. Verdict? Can't wait for them to reopen and when they do we will be back. Making this our first stop when in Whistler

Yelp
Highly recommend their bread! As a non-local, this is a must-stop for me when I venture out to Whistler. Perfect spot to pick up a bite to take with you on hikes or to grab breakfast if you're staying in the Creekside area. All local, organic, high-quality ingredients and super fresh bread baked daily. So far, I have tried their country-style sourdough and their sourdough baguettes. The baguette has the most white flour content I believe, while the country-style sourdough is a whole wheat bread. If you are not a big fan of the taste of whole wheat, I still recommend you give this spot a shot because Bred by Ed has such a great texture. As well, even though it's all sourdough, I found it was only mildly sour, so super palatable for those who don't really like sourness in sourdough. Also, their hummus is sooo good! Super smooth and a really nice balance between chickpea and tahini. Definitely recommend picking up a container of it to pair with your bread. In terms of price point, fair and pretty in line with artisanal bakeries with similar offerings - around $6-9 for a loaf. There are also baked goods like cookies and cinnamon buns, which looked amazing, priced at around $5 a piece. The store is a little tucked away in Creekside Plaza, but there are maps and signs in the plaza to help you figure out where they are, so no fear. The store itself is lovely. Love that you can see what the kitchen is up to with the open-concept setup. Did not notice any sit-down space and since COVID is still a concern, not surprised. Only 2 customers max allowed in the store at a time.

Lindsay M.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious and worth going to -- a grab and go spot with the most delicious baked goods.

Yelp
Literally the best bread I've ever had. This place is amazing, the sourdough is near perfect, the grain-free Mountain Loaf is now a staple since it is so packed with nuts and seeds, and the sourdough pizza crust made the best home-made pizza I've ever tasted. The coffee is also great - our friend was initially very skeptical about the non-dairy options (the only options) but was so happy with it he kept coming back for more!

Rr T.

Yelp
Easily a rival to purebreads in the village. However bred is located Creekside and does an incredible job with loaves of bread, baguettes, and the like. Highly recommend the pecan cinnamon roll and a hot chai made with coconut milk. Fantastic place!

Yelp
Great sourdough bread but the staff aren't wearing mask so be prepared to get infected

Diane I.

Yelp
This is a wonderful addition to Creekside - a lovely new "coffee and bread" shop. The oat milk latte is fabulous, and we also tried the "mega multigrain sourdough" bread, which was amazing. Very friendly and welcoming owners and staff. This is our new go-to place when in Whistler.

Yelp
Fav café + bakery in Whistler. The staff are so friendly and attentive and the food is next level. I love how the bakery has the highest quality of ingredients and always focuses on sourcing ingredients locally. I am a nurse in the Whistler hospital , I love coming to work and finding the sweet treats BRED leaves for us. Not only is the bread, sweets, savory items delicious, the owners have a heart of gold. Thank you for being in our community!

Yelp
Honestly the amount of sad and unkind comments about people doing the best they can in the middle of an era of operating in covid times, Is disappointing and reminds me of people who are privileged to make any comments at all. Including myself. Number one all the bred is truly the best and made with the best ingredients no fast food crap here, hours to prepare in there own hand chosen ovens, everything is environmental, Foraged snd plant based the least amount of harm to anyone. These people pay huge rents and the size of there space is all they have. The covid means you can't have more than two people in the shop, so when something is this good know you have to queue outside end of story this is covid times, it would be good to do that in a happy grateful way not always finding faults with others. I have always found the staff to be honest totally dedicated to the best coffee and bred in BC, good healthy food cost money, trouble is people are use to paying cheap prices for cheap and nasty food, it's amazing that we will spend thousands on hair, nails, cloths, sports toys but food we stuff cheap crap into our bodies. We then wonder why we are all ill immune systems compromised . I love what these people have done created a non chain based local plant based business which supports people health. This world now is just filled with negativity try to look at the positive I am grateful to Bred for trying to survive with quality food and beverages in the worst of times. thank you for all you do for whistler community and the animals are forever grateful. This is an epic coffee and Bred shop.

Jordan S.

Yelp
I have been to this place 3 times in the last 10 days and they have have had no bread left for sale. The bread is good but please make enough especially during the holiday season. Apparently the staff member believes it is my fault for not coming first thing in the morning and arguing with me. Not a good excuse. Will be going elsewhere for bread.

ChrisnPhilippa S.

Yelp
Everything we tried here was delicious and reasonably priced. Even though we knew we'd have to ski through some rain to get to the bakery, we skied down to Creekside to eat lunch here after stopping in the previous day for delicious bread and cookies. The focaccia was amazing, just as we knew it would be! It was loaded with whole olives and caramelized onions, and the bread itself was perfectly baked. The people at Bred take the time to make sourdough breads without commercial yeast, which takes more effort, time, and care, and the the result is unsurpassed. We highly recommend the breads, cookies, carrot cake, coffee, and Indian Chai, and we're looking forward to going back to try more of their breads and baked goods. This place is a GEM!!
