"Why change a formula that works? Bertrand Larcher, the man who introduced the Breton crêpe to Japan, has set up shop in Rennes, a stone's throw from the city's Marché des Lices. The setting is a modern, industrial-style space with an open kitchen. The ingredients for success are still the same: high-quality produce that is predominantly organic (stone-ground wheat grown in Brittany, buckwheat flour milled in Vitré, organic eggs, artisanal Basque charcuterie from Pierre Oteiza). Alongside the classic galettes (buckwheat pancakes), there are more original iterations, some with a Japanese twist, such as the kinako crêpe with Okinawa black sugar and matcha ice cream. There is a short menu of nibbles and oysters." - Michelin Inspector

The galettes are special! I ordered a lunch set which comes with a plate of galettes rolls, a dessert and a glass of cider. The taste is very special, with homemade sauce aside. It’s not like the traditional ones with tons of butter. I love it! Good environment and friendly service. I’ll definitely come back.

Overall a good experience. Price is according to the food, ambiance, and location. They have great variety of wines and ciders. They offer very good crepes and galletes. The restaurant feels very cozy. The food was of excellent flavor. Attached pictures, crepe Suzette, excellent! In short, may be a bit expensive but worth it for a treat. Would come again.

Let's start on a high note : the soap at the bathroom is quite expensive, so enjoy the washing experience. The galettes were a different story for us on this visit. 2 out of the 3 we took were overdone, leaving a consistent burnt aftertaste and overpowering the fine ingredients. The 3rd was ok. A galette is bot enough if you are a regular person based on size and consistency, so the price at around 15-16 euros for most of them is high. The service was nice and the atmosphere is pleasant. PS: we visited on Tuesday July 2nd evening around 19:10. The ones which were not impressive/ burnt were the one with andouille and the one with raclette.
