NYC’s New Restaurant Openings

"In Brighton Beach, Breva is right on the boardwalk, in a building that’s been around since before the Great Depression and still has its original brick arch windows. There’s a view of the ocean, and they’ve got cheeseburgers, potato and chorizo croquettes, as well as some Little Odessa influences, like smoked fish dip and caviar…with tots." - will hartman, bryan kim

… took my Dad out for Father’s Day. Elegant and confident interior paired with a solid menu. Definitely a breath of fresh air for this corner of Brooklyn. Not an easy neighborhood to win over with residents set in their ways but I think ‘Breva’ has a good shot. We split the Burrata, Crispy Rice, Burger, Sea Bass, and the Chocolate Caramel Pie. Gabby was our server and she was super pleasant, polite, professional, and engaging. Highly recommended. Best of luck.

So long time in this area no American places and here we go! Food and drinks are good! View to the beach is amazing and place inside looks good. Restrooms are clean. Service is fast and everyone is friendly. Also good live hulas music! So I recommend to go here if you’re in this area! Thank you to manager Marika! ❤️

New spacious place . The location is amazing, looking over the boardwalk. The service was great, our waiter was very helpful, super nice and friendly. I might mistaken, but I think her name is Tamara ( at least that’s what the Thank you card saiid ). So as for the food, I wish the menu had more choices , especially for the meat choices. And few things we wanted to order were not available, the asparagus was not available, the Sunday was not available, and that’s We ordered steak, medium rare, unfortunately was not tasty. And the French fries seemed to be from the package , not freshly made The Brussels sprouts were good., the drinks were good, and the cake was good as well. So overall not impressed

Breva Café is such a great addition to the Coney Island/Brighton Beach boardwalk! The vibe is super chill, think European bistro meets seaside escape. There’s a refreshing breeze off the water, and the light, airy decor makes it feel even more relaxing. I tried the shrimp cocktail, which was really tasty. The menu says it comes with a smoked vodka cocktail sauce, but I didn’t catch much smokiness or vodka flavor. Still, it was very good. I also had the shoestring fries; they were fine, but let’s be honest, how amazing can shoestring fries really be... The drinks were a highlight. The bar crew was constantly slinging drinks the entire time I was there. The hibiscus margarita was super yummy, and the sweet-sour salt on the rim really brought it all together. The espresso martini was fully shaken and very good. Definitely a great stop whether you're heading to the beach or just strolling the boardwalk.

A truly unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and the most stunning ocean views. The food was absolutely delicious – atmosphere was really good, food was really awesome we tried tuna tartar and crispy salmon it was super delicious . The service was impeccable. Our waiter, The whole atmosphere was so relaxed and inviting. This restaurant has captured the essence of a perfect beachside dining experience, They also have very good options for cocktails and wine . I can't wait to come back! Highly recommend

Google
Great new place on the boardwalk. Came here for an evening birthday dinner, and tried out their jazz brunch (12-4pm on sunday). I recommend the hibiscus margarita and Steak frites. both are very yummy. Their drink menus are SO CUTE. The staff was kind enough to also comp the pavlova dessert during the birthday dinner celebration. The eggs benedict under the brunch menu was SOOOO delicious but it was a small portion, could have used more potatoes. The lemon ricotta pancakes are also yummy but the lemon sauce was way too sweet. Could use more ricotta. The iced coffee they have is delicious. I am definitely coming back here. The staff is so kind and the service is always great !!!! And the overall ambiance of the place is great, decorated so nicely and it’s so clean.

We came for the jazz brunch! Beautiful setting on the boardwalk. The food and drinks were wonderful. Lemon ricotta pancakes, BEC Sandwich was excellent! Poached eggs were great. Service was impeccable. Everything was lovely. All the best finishing touches in this very pretty space. Bar is really beautiful. We loved the music, and my kid drew their portrait. Can’t wait to come back!

We had a fantastic experience at Breva in Brighton Beach! The atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed, perfect for a summer evening. Our server Gaby was absolutely amazing—attentive, kind, and really made us feel welcome. We started with the shrimp cocktail and tuna tartare, and both dishes were super fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend this spot if you’re in the area—great food, great service, and a beautiful setting!

Yelp
The food is outstanding! The burger is great! And so was the salmon. But the service was absolutely fantastic. Our server Becca was so attentive, had amazing recommendations, and very friendly and personable. The entire staff is so nice too! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and has a wonderful ocean view!!

Yelp
I don't know who would pay Manhattan prices for an out-of-the-way Brighton Beach restaurant whose menu is uninspired, and whose drink prices are futuristic.

Yelp
My wife and I visited on Saturday, and I made a reservation online, noting that it was for a birthday. You'd think that might prompt a little extra attention, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. After being seated by the hostess and given menus, we waited about 15 minutes with no service. Our waitress walked past us several times to serve the table next to us but never acknowledged us. Eventually, the manager noticed and told her to come to our table right away--but she still ignored us and returned to the other table instead. The manager eventually came over, and I explained that we felt completely invisible. She apologized, got us drinks, and comped them along with taking our appetizer order. The drinks took another 15 minutes to arrive, and the appetizers came about 30 minutes after that. Still, no one came to take our entrée order or check in on us. A different server finally approached and asked if we needed anything else, at which point we asked for the check. We explained it was my wife's birthday and that we were very disappointed with the evening. To her credit, the manager comped the entire bill, which was greatly appreciated and a very professional gesture. That said, the overall experience was poor enough that we likely won't return for quite a while.

Yelp
Beautiful, spacious, and new! We were impressed with the intricate details (la tavola silverware, high quality napkins, and beautiful serving). The ambiance is also very pleasing, with the view of the ocean and sun facing the restaurant. Music was nice, and calming. The service was very good, and the staff seemed to want to please. We ordered few dishes, caesar salad which was exceptionally fresh, avocado with chips, and an omelette with roasted potatoes and mushrooms in olive oil, and a burger. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend to try this new gem! It left us in a positive mood.

Yelp
The food was great the people who worked there were really nice and were very helpful in describing the dishes. The ambiance was really nice. We live in the neighborhood and usually go to park slope This restaurant reminds me of some of those restaurants. We will be going here again

Yelp
Went back today. Last time was a few weeks ago when we had a reservation and they let us know when we arrived that they were closing because of light snow. No phone call letting us know. The manager promised drinks and apps when we came back but seemed to not notice us today and offer it but we didn't make it a thing. So. Location is amazing. Right in the boardwalk with views of the ocean. Food is amazing. Everything we had we loved. The waitress (think she had Chanel earrings) was beyond lovely and wonderful. I forget everyone's name including my kids half the time but I wish I remembered hers because she really was outstanding. Helped me pick out a good vodka to go with my caviar appetizer. I would definitely recommend this place. I hope it stays open. I know it's part of a chain, so that might help. If I were you I would go before the summer. Probably will be a hot spot then. Highly recommend.

Yelp
New restaurant on the Brighton Beach, Coney Island boardwalk, next to the public parking lot. Thought I was in a Manhattan Bistro. The place is elegant, staff very professional and the food; every dish has a touch of creativity. Loved the Tuna Tartare, with fresh potato chips made in house, the Filet Mignon steak, ginger poached black bass (wow) and amazing Pavlova Dessert. This place was obviously put together by a very professional team. Their level 2 sommelier is setting up an extensive well curated wine list. Many delicious sips ahead. Welcome to my neighborhood

Yelp
The space is beautiful, and the service was great, however, there were small and large misses, which I think are unacceptable for a place that strives to position itself as fine dining. We were a party of 7 for Father's Day. Our table was ready; however, half of the party was missing forks. Our lovely server Lydia apologized, and the forks were procured. Halfway through the meal, her shift was over, and Gabriella took over, she was equally sweet and capable. As for the food, the appetizers and the sides were excellent. We got salmon crispy rice, eggplant spread, caviar tater tots, tuna tartar, Brussel sprouts, asparagus and potatoes with mushrooms. My burger was excellent. Now to the bad parts. My husband's skirt steak, which he ordered medium-rare came out medium-well and when he told the busboy, he just shrugged and said that it was medium-rare. The piece was also super thin and narrow. My kids ordered Mediterranean salad with chicken, which cost extra $10, pushing the dish to be $27. What came out looked like something that a four-year old would prepare. No cucumbers or olives, which were listed on the menu, huge chunks of tomatoes, and the chicken was dark meat of an extremely inferior quality with visible fat all over it. We have returned it, and it was taken off the menu, but the kitchen should have never sent something like that out. For dessert, we ordered Pavlova. It tasted cloyingly sweet and artificially flavored. My overall verdict-if your taste buds are not as advanced as mine or if you don't cook at home as well as I do, you might enjoy it. Otherwise, it's not worth the money.

Yelp
Went there for the first time last week. Beautiful place with very attentive service. It felt like being in Manhattan, the food was delicious. We had the potatoes/ caviar combo appetizer and the tuna tartar, excellent. We continued with the sea bass and the grilled branzino. Outstanding as well, a divine cheesecake for dessert as well as fresh berries. A delightful evening; good food and an extremely professional and attentive staff. We'll be back, great new addition on the boardwalk.

Yelp
This place has good food. The cocktails are very tasty and super fairly priced but the problem is the wait staff. Take forever to come over, or even offer water, they forget.

Yelp
Excellent food! It's all brand new and completely renovated. Very cozy and parking right in front.
