Denver’s Best Pizza Restaurants | Eater Denver

"Here’s a pie that’s more than the sum of its slices. This brewery employs people with developmental disabilities to make not only its beer but its pizza on spent-grain crusts; the results — including the Jalapeño Popper with cream cheese, crumbled bacon, and both fresh chile peppers and raspberry-pepper jam — are as delightful as the mission is meaningful." - Paul Albani-Burgio

How to Build a Better Restaurant Bathroom | Eater

"A mission-driven brewery and adjacent pizza spot conceived to employ people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with a physical space designed for sensory and physical accessibility: a front “sensory area” with noise-canceling headphones and Braille or large-print materials, color-coded taps and menus, weighted silverware, and a vibrational dance floor. Its restrooms are stocked with items like spray deodorant, sewing kits, Tide wipes, Depends and sanitary products, display safety-contact information in stalls, and are being upgraded with an adjustable sink and an adult changing table; lighting and other trade-offs have been carefully managed to balance health-code requirements with sensory needs." - Bettina Makalintal

Please visit this great spot! Beer selection is decent, pizzas are straightforward but delicious, and the vibe is excellent. I had a hazy IPA while we waited for our appetizer and three pizzas to come out. Buffalo chicken dip, Pepperoni pizza, BBQ chicken pizza, and a Hawaiian (modified). The sounds of conversation and laughter filled the air AND I was still able to converse with my wife without yelling. And the staff? Brilliant. We were well taken care of, order taken no problem, modifications correctly applied, beer handed to me immediately after I ordered it, and all done with a pleasant attitude. We're only visiting the area. But if we come back, we'll eat here FOR SURE.

Love this community based concept. The veggie pizza was great, along with a fresh IPA and some live music made for a great night out. It’s worth checking out!

Walking down Broadway at 7:30 on Saturday night and the groooovy live music reeled us in. We ended up having a couple of beers and a pizza pie, half Hawaiian , half supreme. From the bartender who took our order to the server, everyone was prompt & polite Pizza was so big it didn’t fit the pizza dish under!! Warm and fresh. They even have some merch & I got a hat to hit the trails in Colorado And the best part of all is this establishment supports your local community & goes above and beyond to be inclusive with people of all types but in particular people with disabilities.

We had a great experience at BrewAbility! I love the fact that this brewery hires adults with disabilities and focuses on inclusivity and opportunity. Accessibility is clearly a priority here, from the color system that is used to order, to the “sensory corner” with noise cancelling headphones. We will definitely be back!

Google
We attended a free art event they have every other Thursday. We ordered some pretzel bites & pop. The ice was in small bits, I like that. The people were so nice and welcoming. We got to try a new cucumber sandwich they were experimenting with. I think they should add it to the menu. Thank you for including us.

Google
Brewability has a wonderful feel to it. I have been there for lunch, for dinner, for a meet and greet enjoyed the live music, the patio and the games. I LOVE the pizza. It's just so inviting and comfortable. I love all that it stands for and wel coming

Google
Absolutely the best brewery in town! Service was outstanding and the selection of pizza was not only surprising, but there was enough variety for everyone! I can't recommend this place enough, regardless of ability this is the go-to spot for many. (And for damn good reason!)

Mila Gates

Google
This place is amazing! Food it's good, real Mac and cheese (not the Kraft box). Sensory toys and weighted pillows and headphones. Music at a reasonable volume. We wished for a little more variety in drink selection but we were happy. Kids had a great time. Toys to play with as well

Yelp
Trivia nights on Tuesday's hosted by Geeks Who Drink! Start time 7-9 ish pm. I had a great time here with friends and other participants. I love the concept of this restaurant! Very inclusive and opportunistic :) When ordering your food, you order it up at the bar where they give you a number. The pizza looked fantastic! When I come back, I'm definitely trying that! The pretzel with cheese dip was pretty tasty.

Yelp
One of a kind business might not describe its uniqueness. Inclusion is a huge part of this business. I've been to a business like this (in Boulder) in the past so to stumble upon a place like this in my vicinity was certainly a treat. As their website says it all, this place employs adults with disabilities. For them to easily understand what diners want to order the beer menu and the beer handles have color combinations so when you arrive you order by the color. And as a diner who supports inclusiveness, you are included as part of the Brewability team. With that said, you will be warmly welcomed. We had three beers (mine was mine was Mango Blond, 6% ABV, definitely a lager, his were some IPA, one was definitely hazy.) What we were truly impressed with was the pizza we had. It was made with Cauliflower crust so gluten free. He wanted meat; I wanted veggies so they made it half and half. I only ate my side and it was superbly made. The spinach and the artichoke in the melted cheese created a spinach dip type creamy texture. To me, pizzas (in general) are made with a lot of salt but our pizza wasn't salty at all. At/around 6pm, Wednesday's weekly Open Mic Night started. Mostly single performers so the music wasn't too loud. All the acts were professional level. One young man (he looked like a teenager) in particular had the voice of a veteran country music singer (like Alan Jackson!!!) Everyone was awe struck!! This is definitely a different type of craft beer place. On the outside, its appearance is nothing special. And yet, once you are inside, you are in a different world (the City of Englewood should be so proud to have this business.) For friendliest service with great craft beer with excellent thin crust pizza with talented performers, waste no time and go here.

Yelp
This is my go to spot for meeting up with my best friend for a night out. We love the food, we love the staff, we love the atmosphere, and we love their mission. There is always something going on here, Trivia nights are fun and the live bands are always great. There are a variety of pizzas but the mac and cheese is my favorite - a don't skip the ice cream afterwards!

Yelp
This is such an amazing place! The people are so kind and I love the mission. More places need to take note. Not only that but the food is also amazing :) keep it going!

Yelp
I really like the idea and merit of this place and I wish them all the lucks but I just felt out of place, kind of like I was mocking the staff and customers by being there because I don't have a disability.

Yelp
Closed. 4pm on sunday. Not open. Wtf. Even hours on the door say it shoud be open. Waste of my time. Thx!

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this place and their mission. The employees here are incredible, funny and provide very attentive quick service. Their offerings are great and have good, beer and ice cream all in house. The food itself was amazing and I loved the pizza. As a Chicagoan I am usually disappointed with other pizzas, not here!! The ambiance is also very nice. It's wide open space with an awesome patio in the back that had live music when I went. Some cute shops nearby to check out as well. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
I hold a piece in my heart for this brewery. "Everyone has a place" is a great motto and great reminder that we all live on the same planet. The minute you walk through the doors, you feel welcomed and surrounded by kindness. The owner, a former Special Education Teacher, provides a learning and working opportunity for those with disabilities. I learned that they have 700 people on a wait list for the opportunity to apply. As a small brewery, they had good selection of beers. I tried their IPA (ordered by color so it was Green) which was loaded of hops and aroma. I went on the weekend and the brew master was actively brewing beer which normally done during the weekday at other places. Fun to see the brew process in action. We ordered a supreme pizza and it arrived in less than 10 minutes. The crust was very crispy (which I prefer) and popping hot. Suggest ordering extra cheese and sauce. You can order by the slice or full size. Great outdoor patio and live music. Great beer and even better mission.

Yelp
I wish I could rate this place higher because I absolutely love their philosophy. The service was outstanding, and everyone was genuinely nice. However, I found myself wishing the place were a little cleaner. Simple things like wiping down the menus, ensuring the tables weren't sticky, and having clean glassware would make a big difference. Tonight was trivia night, which was a ton of fun. It was great to see so many people hanging out and enjoying themselves. I'm glad to see a lot of customers here. The pizza was just okay. We had the sweet barbecue chicken pizza, but I really wish the red onions had been caramelized before going on the pizza because they don't really cook well in the oven. On a positive note, I do love their thin crust. The beer menu is limited, and for a $3 lemonade, I wish it had tasted like lemonade. The atmosphere is definitely cool, relaxed, and a great place to hang out.

Yelp
This is one of the coolest breweries you can stumble across. The whole brewery is run by special needs staff which is absolutely amazing! They are the kindest staff ever and love just spending time with the customers and talking with them. The beer is great, they don't have a huge selection but that's okay what they do have is delicious! Their pizza is also delicious, my go to is the green chili pizza. If you have been searching for a unique brewery with amazing staff and drinks, look no further than Brewability!!

Yelp
Can't say enough about the inclusivity of this place. They take care of their employees and their customers. I always feel welcome whenever I visit. Brewability supports other small businesses and bands so I love coming here to support my friends, Dear Marsha, when they play. Brewability has expanded their options to include dessert with Sweet Action Ice Cream. Always a great time.

Yelp
Great vibes, great people, LGBTQIA+ friendly, amazing food, atmosphere, CLEAN, great staff too! Don't have much to say besides ABSOLUTELY great great great experience here last night. Will be coming back for sure & can't believe I now just found this place! A hidden gem right outside Littleton & loved how gay friendly they are here, my partner & I really enjoyed ourselves here. It's also great how all their employees have disabilities & it's great to see a business offer everyone a chance to be financially responsible & financially stable! Shoutout to Madison, such a sweet heart who works here & also created some of the merch for the band that played here called "Dear Marsha".

Yelp
First off, I love the concept behind the restaurant and the community behind it. The staff is really kind and you can tell that they really do care. This is NOT a place for you to dine if you're impatient, rude, sensitive to noise, or get irritated by others easily. Only come here if you are patient and kind with your words and actions. Please read the signs on how to order because you order by color. I don't remember the drink I ordered but it comes with a strawberry and it was delicious. It's different from other drinks and even though it's an alcoholic beverage, it's quite refreshing. There aren't many options for pizza slices so my friend and I ordered a whole meat lovers pizza and we somehow managed to finish it between two people. The pizza was really tasty. There were some bits were it was too much tomato sauce that I wasn't a fan of. Otherwise, really delicious. When we were here, they were hosting a karaoke session and it was nice to see everyone happy and singing. Also the music selection was top notch. You got Disney, Hamilton, Lady Gaga, etc. One of the best.

Yelp
I can see why this place is racking up the 5 star ratings. Great friendly service and they make a solid pie. Really liked the pretzel bites. Great outdoor area and pet friendly. They also seem to try to be environment friendly which I love. Didn't try the beer, that gives me reason to return.

Yelp
It's establishments like this that make the world a better place. My hat goes off to them and my heart goes out as well. Tiffany puts a lot of time and effort into setting up events that draw people in. There are plenty of menu options for food and drink. The staff works hard, and does a good job to make sure your needs are met. I've been coming here since it was the B.O.B., and Accoustic Music Revival before that. This is the best yet. I make it here 2 to 3 times a month. It is always time well spent. Thank you Brewability!

Yelp
My husband and I are so glad we stopped by Brewability and plan to come back. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, a women who use to be a special education teacher who noticed there were no jobs for those she was teaching. So she created a location and now employees 26 disabled individuals. It is amazing all that she had to do to create this concept thinking of the variety of disabilities the facility has to accommodate. We ordered at the counter. You order beer by color code that is on the menu and then we ordered pizza by number listed on the menu. This simplified method ensure the staff understand how to enter or retrieve your order. The staff was super friendly and excited that we brought our dog. We sat on the patio but dogs are allowed inside as well. The beer and pizza were both delicious. I got the pumpkin chai wheat ale basic bitch style meaning it has cream cheese and spices on the rim. It tasted like fall in a glass of- perfect for October. My husband got the porter which was also very flavorful and smooth. Go check out this brewery and support this unique concept!

Yelp
What a beautiful place filled with incredible staff. Go here and be filled with love. There is good in the world.

Yelp
We LOVE pizza and found this amazing place in Englewood on our way to Bailey. One of the best pizzas we have ever had! We ordered a large meat lovers with onions, extra crispy. Absolutely delicious, crunchy crust and outstanding toppings. We will most definitely be back. The fact that they employ wonderfully able locals is the cherry on top. If you love pizza and beer, do not miss this place.

Tim P.

Yelp
Great pizza and the open mic was great. I like that they encourage the employees to partake in the open mic

Yelp
Would love to know what this pizza tastes like, it looks wonderful. But every time I call it says the number cannot be connected as dialed. I typed in ordering number via the number they provide when you call their store (confusing, right?) and also the number directly from their website to order. Been trying for 2 weeks.

Yelp
Love everything about Brewability! I met a friend here for drinks and we were not previously aware of Brewability's mission. The staff was incredible and I loved the simple ordering process (selection of ~6 beers, each color-coded for ordering). The staff member was really patient through my indecision, and offered a sample as well. Prices were very fair, with the average pint being $6. We sat outside on the patio, although the interior had a bunch of fun things going on! We did not get food, but a few parties near us ordered pizza and it looked delicious -- I am definitely coming back here to give it a try! Such a welcoming & positive atmosphere!

Yelp
This place is amazing!! Great atmosphere and patio!! The beer and pizza are spot on!! But the best of it all is the staff!! This is a really special place!!

Yelp
It's been a while since we last visited Brewability and we hadn't yet been to their new location. One of our favorite local artists, Josh Blackburn, was playing and that was that. Dinner date planned. Brewability & Pizzability, as their name implies, offers craft beers brewed onsite and well as a variety of homemade pizzas. Their mission is amazing and as a social worker, I love their inclusivity. Brewability hires differently abled folks and uses a variety of innovative processes around their processes. This was the brain child of a special education educator and home brewer. They offer a variety of ways of to order, the most common being by color code. This inclusivity extends not only to their staff, but also to customers. This is brilliant and makes ordering quick and easy. I enjoyed a blueberry sour (Blue) and a house made seltzer (White). My guy had their IPA (Green) and their seltzer (White). He's not a seltzer guy but this one was so good. You can also up level your seltzer by requesting it with a scoop of sorbet. We ordered a large 16" pizza, half Sweet Heat BBQ Chicken and half Green Chili Chicken. Their crust is a unique one - and so very good. It uses spent grains and is egg free, dairy free and vegan. It was probably my favorite pizza crust in a long, long time. And, this new location was fun, offered massive tables, along with more intimate options and of course the bar, where we sat. Folks were amazing. They also live streamed Josh. He's a badass, if you haven't heard him play. Check him out. They often have live music and lots of folks dancing, having a fabulous time. Great energy, friendly staff, good craft beer and yummy pizza. Fabulous night.

Yelp
We popped in not knowing exactly what this place was all about. Didn't take us long to notice this place was a little different. The workers were joking, laughing, dancing really enjoying their time at work. In one area they had a birthday party goin on. In the other a setup for a kids band to play live music that day. It wasn't until we really looked at the logo when we realized that this was a place that employed people with disabilities. we both were wowed. They completely won our hearts over. We drank our beer and played a Xmas movie bingo feeling really good about our choice in brewery. Cheers to the good people!

Yelp
This place is so amazing! The staff here are extremely kind and attentive. They also have great pizza and beer (seriously legit pizza and beer), quite impressed with how good everything was and the prices of their food. We were also treated to the s'mores bar they offered for free. To top if all off, they have a wonderful mission. And I can't wait to come back and continue to support them. Support this women owned business and their mission to be inclusive of everyone and employ people with varying disabilities. Love this place!

Yelp
Excellent atmosphere, attitude and cause. Love the mission and the team work. Gear food choices and good beer.

Yelp
Two months ago, one of my friends on Facebook posted about a business called Pizzability, which is operated almost entirely by people with disabilities. My youngest sister has Down's Syndrome, so I made a note to come support this business on my trip to Denver. This is the third location they've been in. They moved from the first because of the mis-treatment and harassment from some of the locals in a higher-end neighborhood in Denver, which absolutely sickens me! They moved to an Industrial Park, but that didn't sustain them either. Now they added a brewery, and business has been a little better, but still plenty of room for improvement. Tiffany and Tanner are the owners. Tiffany told me there are a couple of other nearby businesses that employ people with disabilities, including a yoga studio! The pizza is made from scratch. It's a New York style thin crust with a slightly sweet sauce. I am a little biased, but even objectively, I will tell you the pizza I had was delicious! They don't skimp on sauce, cheese, or toppings. I also enjoyed my Amber, which is also brewed on site. The patio is spacious, and there is plenty of space for indoor dining and lounging if you want to hang and enjoy a slice and a beer. They also serve sorbet and ice cream, which is made locally, just up the street. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want ro support a business that serves great products, while also making such a positive impact in the community. I know some really amazing people in Denver, so I hope they will rally the troops to support this business and others like it!

Yelp
I've had my eye on this place and was looking for some pizza close by that wasn't a big chain. I got the jalapeño popper pizza and the garlic cheese sticks to go. As far as the food goes, I'm not big on this style of thin crust, so everything was alright. Toppings and flavor-wise, things were great; the garlic cheese sticks deliver on the garlic! Plus everything was huge, so definitely had leftovers. It should go without saying, though, that the mission of this establishment is more than worth the support. An incredible opportunity in the community, with a great space to boot! Though I didn't get to experience it much with a takeout order, it had plenty of space inside and a great patio with heaters to tackle the cooling weather. Though I may not be rushing back for the pizza, I could definitely see coming back for drinks. Always glad to see a place with a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. I am really glad to have this in my neighborhood.

Itzel W.

Yelp
"This pizza tastes like rainbows" - my 6 year old son. That's all you really need to know, honestly. Love this place so much, food, service and drinks are fantastic. Huge thumbs up to the piña colada slushie! It's super family friendly, providing a calming atmosphere, a ton of games for the kids, and best of all, inclusivity. Looks like we found our new fave place.

Yelp
My family and I tried Brewability for the first time this evening, and I regret not trying it sooner! The neighborhood is super walkable and we often have walked by while we were out. Many times while walking by, I noticed the the lively atmosphere with live music and activities. Not only that, but the patrons are also super friendly and always seemed to be having a great time, as there is a large outdoor seating area where you can enjoy the summer evenings and social life as well. We finally made our way to dinner here this evening. The menu gives you the option to order pizza by the slice, something that is not an option everywhere, and you can also choose your own toppings! An even rarer option for diners who love pizza but only have an appetite for one serving. We had a cheese slice, a barbecue chicken slice- add pineapple, and the spinach artichoke dip. All entrées were hot and delicious! The crust on the pizza was crisp but fluffy. For drinks we had non- alcoholic hazy IPAs, kombucha, and a champagne seltzer. These were nice and refreshing for a summer evening on the patio. They also offer spiked seltzer slushies which is a really fun option for summer time and they make the batches fresh every day! I will definitely be back soon to enjoy some live music, great food, and fun and friendly atmosphere!

Yelp
Great brewery, great food, and great concept! It makes me miss living in Englewood. I first heard about Brewability when looking for Geeks Who Drink trivia locations (they play on Tuesday nights). I've since started following their Facebook page so that I can keep up with all the events they regularly have scheduled. I love that they hire and support folks with intellectual and physical disabilities but even moreso I love the community building the do. Pet friendly, kid friendly, abilities friendly, sensory friendly... what more could you ask for? I went last Sunday for daytime Brunch, karaoke, a plant sale, and a drag queen selling pies. Gives you an idea of what kind of activities you can look forward to!
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
I love this place. My wife and I come here at least once a week, especially for brunch. Super yummy beer, the best food, wonderful staff that actually cares about their customers, (crazy concept right...) Super fun live music with a beautiful patio. They are never too busy or over crowded for a group and always accommodate our friend groups which is hard to find in the area and we always leave with huge smiles on our face. Tiffany the owner is super nice and was so eager to take recommendations on crepes from my wife (a crepe expert). Oh, and the best part, they are dog friendly! Inside and out! Brewability for the win.

Yelp
Such a unique experience. Loved the staff. Micheal is hilarious. perfect place for a carb overloade. will return.

Yelp
My wife and I happened upon this place and what a great place to have a beer and pizza. The folks that work here are awesome and make you smile and laugh. The pizza is excellent and the beer is first rate. If Jorge is working ask him to play his clarinet for you! This place is a breath of fresh air!

Marta O.

Yelp
What a great place to support!! Their crepes have always been delicious and their beer/sangria are so good! Karaoke days are so much fun even if you're not participating. Plus their staff is just the kindest.
google avatar

Dan E.

Yelp
We had a last minute birthday party here for my son who has Down syndrome. The staff went above and beyond to make it an amazing experience!! They gave us a small quiet private area for the party. They put up decorations and even bought a gift for our son. He had two of his friends with autism at his party and they all had a great time together. Thank you for providing a safe and comfortable place for us to have this celebration.
google avatar

Jay B.

Yelp
Make sure to read Melissa T's review as she covers some great things to know. Ever been to a restaurant where everyone on staff is miserable in their jobs? Well, this is the COMPLETE opposite!!! During your time at this cool venue, you will hear staff members singing and see some dancing to the awesome music they play and you can even get Jorge to play his pink clarinet for you. All of the servers are friendly and are happy to get whatever you need. Just know that it may take a few minutes to get your beer if they are helping someone else as the incredible owner, Tiffany, makes sure that everything is right. The pretzel bites came with a very healthy portion of cheese dip which was really good. We had two pizzas - a make your own and one of their specialty pizzas, the Big Mac Pizza - an incredible blend of flavors. They have a good selection of beers made in-house. And if you can't decide, they are happy to pour you a sample. This place is amazing and what Tiffany has done is incredible! And all of this is brought to you by a staff of 26, most of whom have special needs!

Alex N.

Yelp
Pros: -Love the mission & the staff was very friendly -Pizza came out quickly and tasted good -The outdoor area is nice Cons: -Disappointed to learn there were only 3 beers to choose from (excluding a sour and a milk stout) -Pizza is pretty expensive for what you get ($23 for pepperoni, $25-28 for most others with toppings) -The drink menu is incredibly sloppy, full of typos, and difficult to make sense of Ultimately, I don't think I would come back. Again, I love the mission and the staff was great, but I believe the ratings to be inflated for that exact reason. From an objective standpoint, there are much better places in the area. But I'll never feel contrite about supporting these places.
google avatar

Richie S.

Yelp
Best jalapeños poppers in town! Crispy cheese and bacon with jam! What more can you ask? Flavor town for sure!
google avatar

Chantel B.

Yelp
Great concept, very friendly owner and delicious pizza. I'm personally not a beer drinker so no review from me on that. But the pizza was great, the staff is very friendly and the owner was amazing; great gal to chat with. Our son is 10 months old and is learning sign language from me teaching him, and we are trying our best to introduce him to all different people so that he learns to accept everyone. The atmosphere was great and something for everyone. Even the other patrons were very friendly! Overall all a great dining experience and I love that they employ folks with disabilities and folks that are deaf. I can't wait to go back and be able to use my sign language again.

Yelp
We love coming here. Variety of food from pizza, to Mac n cheese, to appetizers. All very tasty!! They have live music or a theme during the weekend..be sure to check out their FB page. The people working there are very kind, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. They have a sensory section and toys for kids well. Great for everyone !! My fav is their Purple drink, the porter with a Nutella rim !!!

Yelp
One of my favorite places! It always restores my faith in humanity. They were very accommodating for a large group (about 30 of us) on a Friday afternoon (do call in advance). No one else in the group had ever been here before and everyone said they would definitely came back again. The beer and appetizers are great, and the staff is amazing!
google avatar

Shin M.

Yelp
5 stars for the fact that they employ disabled people. They were serving beer, running food, and much more. The place was also hosting drag bingo night. I appreciate the openness and how accepting and supportive the business is. 3 stars us for the food. I got a 16 inch half veggie (not great, pretty plain) and half supreme (it was ok) and also a cheesy garlic appetizer which was also a pizza. The two combined fed 4 adults. The food was just ok.
google avatar

Deborah N.

Yelp
Such a great mission, such a great vibe. Friendly staff, place was hoppin'. Warning: "garlic cheese sticks" is a 16" pizza. No complaints, but a lot of food if you're also getting pizza. Will be back to check out their great events!
google avatar

Michelle Nam Phuong L.

Yelp
This is an amazing local brewery/restaurant that serves you both beer and pizza! They hire employees that have special needs/disabilities and have a system in place for better communication between customers and the staff. The service was excellent as well as the pizza. I highly recommend checking this place out. There is seating both outside and inside! Parking is a bit difficult but it is located in a great block that has a variety of shops and restaurants to check out while you are there!

Yelp
I come here specifically for their slush, they are strong! The staff loves their job and the atmosphere is fun, always different

Yelp
Very pleasant, relaxing space with delicious beer for a reasonable price, and a huge patio! Tried the vegan ice cream and the pizza looks on point!

Yelp
Fantastic spot! We hosted a birthday party here a few months ago and it could not have gone better. Tiffany and her staff were exceptional in every way - going above and beyond to make sure that the party went smoothly. The service was great, food and drinks were delicious and there was great energy all night. Could not recommend more highly!
