RUMC Coffee House Opens in Roswell, Georgia Employing Adults with Special Needs | Eater Atlanta

"I found that RUMC Coffee House is a collaboration between Kennesaw’s Independent Grounds Cafe and Roswell United Methodist Church that opened earlier this week on Mimosa Boulevard in the city’s historic downtown. Like Independent Grounds, owned by Lorna Heid, it primarily employs people in the community living with intellectual and developmental disabilities; Heid says for many of our employees this is their first job opportunity, and seeing them grow in confidence and develop skills they can then take anywhere is a profound honor. The menu offers a variety of coffee and espresso drinks and grab-and-go pastries with light lunch fare planned for the future, and the shop provides seating inside, on the porch, and at tables throughout the grounds. Hours are Monday–Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.; rumccoffeehouse.com." - Beth McKibben

Bailey "My service dog in Training" took me to Brewable, near Wills Park Equestrian Center. "We" ordered a Latte and a Brownie! "Bailey, got a Alton Brown Stinky treat, baked by me." Wowie! Maybe the most moist and chocolatey Brownie, I've ever eaten. All baked goods are done "in house", seriously good. "We" were looking for a casual Bridge Game (cards) that meets Wednesday's at Brewable. After finishing my latte I asked if there was ANOTHER Brewable and sure enough "we" were at the wrong Brewable, should have gone to the location, near Mimosa Street in "Old Roswell", Ga 30075. "We" got back in the car and found the correct Brewable. If your looking for, a great, no superior coffee-house, this is a place for you! Plenty of inside or outside seating, a cozy place to unwind, study, or just have a brownie! Try the Brownie!! PS Bailey, is no longer allowed to be navigator. Date: Sept 2025

Great little coffee spot in historic Roswell! Beautifully preserved architecture with a modern upscale feel. We sat outside and enjoyed coffee, chatting with locals. Will definitely come back - this is a solid spot to meet up with friends, business partners, etc.

A wonderful place and a wonderful organization. The atmosphere and friendliness in the Roswell location are great - and the baked treats are, too. The coffee's good, too. Thank all you Brewables for all you do.

Amazing! I got a dirty chai latte with a ham and Gruyère scone. Genuinely amazing chai (I had to ask what kind they used to get for myself). I came across this place after the original shop I wanted to go to was full. And I’m so happy it was! It’s a very homey environment with lots of tables and rooms to work in. They have couches and chairs as well. There’s a patio out front with a heater that I think will be nice coming up this winter.Prices are appropriate as well. It looks like a house converted into a coffee shop. The barista told me it’s a not-for-profit as well! Very cool!

This is a wonderful, peaceful and cozy place to have a coffee and a snack. With great interior decorations and almost fairy tale garden with tables to seat you can enjoy the view and chill

I stumbled upon this gem by accident. I was looking to do some work on the computer and the parking lot looked bare so I knew I would have great space to work. I was immediately attracted to the decorations and the warmth of the shop. I then find out its mission is to support adults with disabilities by enriching their purpose with jobs. I ordered a mocha latte and it was fantastic. A GREAT place and a must try when in Roswell.

I just spent the morning here meeting with a crochet group, and the place is fantastic! There are couches and tables, a private room with a big screen and tables, and outside space with seating. There is even parking available. The menu included coffees, teas, baked goods, and other beverages. I will definitely be returning to this cafe.

Great experience! I got to meet the owner, he asked for feedback on the vegan scones and gifted us an AMAZING expresso brownie. Loved the atmosphere and huge space.
