RUMC Coffee House Opens in Roswell, Georgia Employing Adults with Special Needs | Eater Atlanta

"I found that RUMC Coffee House is a collaboration between Kennesaw’s Independent Grounds Cafe and Roswell United Methodist Church that opened earlier this week on Mimosa Boulevard in the city’s historic downtown. Like Independent Grounds, owned by Lorna Heid, it primarily employs people in the community living with intellectual and developmental disabilities; Heid says for many of our employees this is their first job opportunity, and seeing them grow in confidence and develop skills they can then take anywhere is a profound honor. The menu offers a variety of coffee and espresso drinks and grab-and-go pastries with light lunch fare planned for the future, and the shop provides seating inside, on the porch, and at tables throughout the grounds.
