"An aging Five Points building that most recently housed a Family Dollar will soon get a new life as sports bar Brewster’s Bar and Grille, reports Nashville Post. Local businessman Dhruv Patel, who co-owns the Brewster’s in Portland, Tennessee, is manning the project. The vibe and programming will be similar to its inaugural 10-year-old location, complete with a dance floor, karaoke nights, live music, and pool tournaments. The Portland bar, located a 30-minute drive north, offers a casual pub menu filled with craft beer options, burgers, sandwiches, fries, steaks, salads, and fish entrees. Rotating specials include an all-day happy hour on Monday and Sunday calls for half-priced wings. A pizza-and-beer deal on Tuesdays features a 10-inch pizza with three toppings and domestic pitcher for $12." - Tierney Plumb

Literally the very best cocktail I've had in my life, and the portions are huge and delicious. The staff is kind and attentive and it feels incredibly worth the cost. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. (I do not have my usual food allergies folk with me today so I did not ask how they are on allergies.)

Great daily specials! I had catfish and fries for $8 and loved it and I’m not a big fan of catfish normally. Lots of regulars show up. It’s a whole vibe.

Google
The food and service were excellent. We specifically searched for a local place to support for lunch and stopped in and had a great experience after a fun and eventful weekend in Nashville. If I’m being honest, we weren’t expecting it to be attached to a hotel but it didn’t disappoint. Even though the place was packed, we loved the small town atmosphere. Started with the chili cheese fries and a side of fried okra for apps. I had the breakfast burger…great hangover food! My wife the Quesadilla, and our friends a BLT and cheeseburger. The broccoli cheese casserole was delicious! It did NOT disappoint. While our server was VERY busy, she was fantastic and attentive. If you are within 50 miles of this place, do yourself a favor and stop by. We will def be back when in the area!!

Went there New Years eve to get a quick bite. I wish I could remember our servers name as she was fantastic. The food was good and the atmosphere was nice, everyone seemed to be having a good time

My sister and I wanted to eat some good dinner and share some drinks! The food was absolutely delicious and the waitress was delightful!! We had a great time. The only down side is the prices seem to be a little more steep than other places that are comparable like Chilis or Cheddars so that’s why I gave 4 stars!

First , we had a party of 8 . My 3 people ordered first, then 2,1,and then the final 2. We ordered some appetizers and those came out and we started talking ..... I asked the waitress for some plates, she handed me two and stated " these are our last two plates we have" after looking at the plates they still had food on them from the previous people. I tried to hand them back but the waitress looked at me and walked away. So we ate the appetizers and talked till the food started coming out. First the last people that ordered got their food, then the one person, then the two that ordered after us. So we are sitting and waiting every finished their food so I finally ask the waitress to go check on our order. She came back and stated that it just came up. I told her that I would just like to cancel the order since everyone else is done eating and ready to go. She came back and said that since it was already done that I can take it for free. I said ok and paid for the drinks and appetizers that we did get. Please keep in mind that our order was a breaded chicken sandwich with fries, catfish nuggets ( appetizer) and a side salad, and chicken wings with fries. So she brings that wings, so everyone at the table pays and she brings the side salad. After all bills are paid and the couple's of two leave I finally get to flag her down and ask about the catfish nuggets , chicken sandwich and fries. She said " well you cancelled the order, I said " did you not tell me that the order was up and ready when I cancelled it" with her replying" o sorry" . Long story short, my order was never made and I got lied to twice. I still tipped the waitress and took my wings and the side salad home. (swung through Burger King to finally feed my son after waiting almost 3 hours for nothing)Well the wings are rubber and asked for extra crispy and the salad is brown and withered. So those went in the trash. I will not be going back to Brewster's. Could have just been honest. I am an understanding person and realize stuff happens.

Google
I will not get the Bourbon bacon burger again cause it was to spicy for me ,I even change the cheese cause I just toke one bit. It didn't say if Chipotle in the Bourbon sauce. but the fried was great and the food come out faster this time. I was very unhappy with my burger.

It was just what I needed after a hard Day's work and a cozy little town about separated from the world and soaked in the fun of a new one environment with great atmosphere and drinks and food

Yelp
Wanted to try something local in the Portland area. As Mikey said... I tried it but didn't like it. The food appeared to be made from products you can get at a grocery store. Not very tasteful and cardboard like pizza. Two positive things about the visit; 1. Bartender/Waitress was very nice but overwhelmed as she had to work the entire dinning room and bar. 2. Beers were cheap - $2.50 during an extremely long happy hour. Other than that - very blasé.

Yelp
Fantastic food! Love the appetizers!!! Ambience is good Drinks are good Waitresses are nice Close to our home makes it nice Wish they would open website ordering and delivery

Yelp
Basic bar and grille, however service is great and food portions are huge. My husband had the burger and couldn't finish it. I had the chef salad and barely put a dent in it. We happened to be there a night when there was karaoke going in and it was a nice mix of music with great entertainment music as the background to March Madness basketball!

Yelp
Food is good if the are not out of stuff. Never know when they will close. Sometimes open late and sometimes they close early. Kinda run down. If they put money back into the place it could be really nice. Not there yet.

Yelp
Great burgers. Service was top notch. Good beer selection. Atmosphere was casual, friendly. Will be back!

Yelp

Yelp
Let's be real and let's be fair. This is a "Bar and Grill" with pool tables. I knew what to expect before walking in. I chuckle at the reviews that complain about the noise, the service, etc. I'm here because I'm staying at the Comfort Suites which adjoins the restaurant. I'm also here because there are few choices other than fast food in Portland and the free drink and 10% off my food purchase provided by hotel was incentive enough. The wings were good (warrior medium) and my Brewster Burger was good; cooked to order. No complaints. The service was somewhat slow, BUT Rachel, my server, was doing the BEST she could do being dinner and Happy Hour. If you're not in a hurry; maybe staying at the hotel, or just chillin', Brewsters is worth a visit. The draft beer is cold and the food (what I had) was better than the average bar food. I read my Kindle, watched some basketball and was satisfied with the accommodations, service, quality, quantity and taste of the food. When I come back to Portland and if staying at The Comfort Suites, I definitely will stop in; free beer or not.

Yelp
Stopped here on a road Trip. Good food and fair prices. We stopped on a Sunday afternoon just as business was picking up so service was a little slow. It's a bar, so understand what you are signing up for. I would recommend these guys.

Yelp
Thank goodness this place exists in Portland. Great burgers, sandwiches and beer specials. Friendly staff and beautiful interior decor.

Jeffrey Dahme R.

Yelp
I was reluctant to try a bar & grill attached to a hotel out in the middle of nowhere. I was staying at the Comfort Suites and given a free drink voucher, so I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised! Atmosphere was clean, orderly, and we'll lit. Large televisions with sports channels, pool tables, arcade, darts, high top tables, and booths. Drink selection was decent and service was fairly prompt. Food was good for a bar. All in all good experience both times I went and would definitely recommend the wings!

Yelp
I'm shocked at the nasty reviews on here. It's a sports bar, and is better than most. Decent food, good prices, full bar, friendly staff. What's not to like? It's the best place to eat within at least five miles.

Yelp
We are here because it is located at the hotel we stayed at. The convenience was great and the food was fantastic! But the poor service, way too loud music with the bass set too low and the disgusting silverware forces me to only be able to give one star. There were not many tables seated and it took about 1/2 hour to get our order in. I think the waitress may have been somewhat new so I don't want to overly bash her, but she seemed like she should not have been left on her own yet. She promised to come back and take our order after getting the drinks for another table. 20 minutes later she still wasn't back. Several times it looked like she was headed our way only for us to look up and see she had gone off another direction. She finally stopped by and said she would be back after dropping off a check to another table. Yet more waiting... By the time we got our order in and it came our kids had enough of the atmosphere. So don't bring young kids, the music was so overpowering we had to take our food in boxes back to the room because our kids were so upset by how loud it was. It doesn't seem appropriate to have the music so loud at a hotel where families are likely staying and dining. Lastly, the silverware was absolutely disgusting. Every single piece had some sort of food debris left on it and looked like a kid with a greasy meal sucked on all of it. I will try to post the photo I took.

Deanna N.

Yelp
Employees not wearing mask. Kids climbing on our booths and put mouth on condiments. Chairs dirty and fabric on booth dirty and nasty. Didn't find anything good except the waitress was excellent.

Nathan S.

Yelp
Perfect for a lunch when on the road, staying at the hotel, or from work. Great daily specials

Amanda E.

Yelp
Nothing but young thugs hang out in here. Last time I went was bad but at the request of a friend we tried to give it another chance. Music was so loud our waitress had to scream at us. Finally asked to talk to a manager and they miraculously turned it down after they told us they couldn't. Service was ok but not great. I just won't go back. We have s not a place to eat...it's like they're trying to be a night club.

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised ,the food was really really good. Best wings I've had in years and the chocolate cobbler was a great way to end the meal. Our server took good care of us. When we first arrived there were a lot of men at the bar but families started to come in and it became a more comfortable atmosphere. Overall I highly recommend Brewster's.

Ashley P.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite bars. You cannot lose with the catfish and wings. Caitlyn and Rachael are the best bartenders and waitresses. It's hard to pass up a good Friday for the catfish special and Sun/Mon for half off wings. They go so well with my tasty long island tea.

Amanda Z.

Yelp
I like the spicy garlic wings, really friendly bartender. Will come again! Free draft beer and 10%off for the hotel guest. Highly recommend if you stay at the hotel.

Clay J.

Yelp
I honestly believe this is the worst bar I've ever been to. From the terrible chicken ziti at 10 dollars to the mediocre food I was surprised I got half way through my meal before flies descended on my food. I let them win the battle of swatting for 30 mins. I only write this so the owner might see how his employees work... If that's what we want to call it.

Steve B.

Yelp
Wings were fatty and sauce was chalky. Burger was over cooked, food came out in wrong order and was cold. Mashed potatoes could have came from a box, and the chili was awful.

Jena H.

Yelp
Food was good. Service a bit slow. Bar type atmosphere with bar in center of space. Lots of locals or travelers staying in hotel.

Catherine H.

Yelp
I created a Yelp account only for this experience, because it was just THAT bad... I am not one to complain, but I must tell the experience I had here tonight. I enjoy eating at Brewster's occasionally and tonight was beyond a terrible experience. I dined with my husband, daughter, and grandson. The food was great, though it took a while to get because the place was very busy. Our waitress, Ashley, was such a doll. She was very polite, attentive, and a hard worker. This part of our experience was great. Now, here comes the terrible part, which is why I am rating only 1 star. Another server, whom I believe was named Lindy (?) was absolutely horrid. We could hear this waitress screaming, cursing, degrading, and even threatening to physically harm our waitress from the kitchen area. Not only that, she even screamed & cursed her TWICE right next to us as our waitress remained completely calm and professional. Mind you, there were also a couple other guests in the dining area who were completely taken aback and even took the time to complain to us. Our poor waitress told use that she had spent a couple hours in the emergency room earlier for 2nd degree burns when we inquired about the bandage on her arm. I felt so terrible for our server, Ashley, because she was working so hard all while holding her composure, which I can imagine, had to be very hard for her after such a rough day. I do not want to keep rambling, but I do need to mention that with my 20+ years of owning my own restaurant the extremely disrespectful waitress would have been fired on the spot for not being able to control her anger in such a way. I will not be coming back to Brewster's because of this. I am very disappointed because we do always enjoy our food and have always enjoyed the atmosphere until now. This is the by far the worst experience I have ever had in any restaurant and the worst behavior I have ever witnessed by a server. Extremely displeased. I will be letting my friends know of this experience. I do hope this waitress is reprimanded accordingly. Catherine Hammock-Troutt

Yelp
The previous reviews scared me a bit, but Rachel provided excellent customer service to two road weary seniors. When the Saturday night music was too loud with far too much base, we asked for it to be turned down... and it was. My steak was tender, well seasoned and cooked to the right temperature. The baked potato was fresh with plenty of toppings. My friend's grilled chicken salad was also very good. If you are looking for 5 star dining, go to Nashville and pay 5 times the price. This is basic bar food served in a friendly manner. Ask for Rachel. She was great!

J B.

Yelp
They should consider leaving "grille" out of the name of their establishment. The food was tasteless and they had the dining room closed during lunch (bar area open only). I had a black and bleu burger that was missing the Cajun seasoning and the bleu cheese was brown and tasteless. My husband had the pork chop and it was so overdone that it was hard to cut with s steak knife. His broccoli and cheese casserole was literally broccoli stems covered in cheese. Not for families, the jukebox was so loud we couldn't hear each other across the table, but if you want to be drunk before 2pm on a Sunday then this might be the place for you.

Bob W.

Yelp
The worst service I have had in years!!! Our waitress acted like she had better things to do. We ordered drinks during happy hour. It took 20 minutes to get them. So, our waitress charged us for when they were delivered, not when they were ordered! Plus charging for sides we did not order. The food was decent but service was atrocious!

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Horrible service! Took 10 mins to get menus and order drinks and then we waited another 15 mins before we left. The bartender was busy chatting up the people at the bar and didn't even bother to come take our order. The place is dirty and smells.

David H.

Yelp
Great place to go out to eat. The waitresses were extremely nice and the food was good. I had the chips and queso which was great and the twisted club which is a good sandwich. I've been back a couple of times and have gotten it.

Torrey C.

Yelp
This is attached to a Comfort Inn and Suites hotel and the only restaurant close by so we decided to try it. It was Awesome! It is a bar/restaurant and the clientele is mostly hotel guests but the servers were friendly and the food was great! I had the Pretzel roll with turkey, ham, bacon and cheese and expected sliced lunchmeats. It was grilled thick real turkey and ham! Tasted so good! onion rings were excellent! My husband had the BBQ burger and said the burger tasted like it was freshly patti'd and grilled! The Catfish sandwich my daughter had was slightly salty but good. The prices are very reasonable and we walked out stuffed only paying $51.00 for a family of 5- including 2 beer and sodas! ( we did get a beer free and 10% discount for being hotel guests). If you stay here I recommend not driving to look for other places to eat- this was convenient and yummy!!!!
