Our Christmas Eve dinner at Brickmans Restaurant & Bar was truly delightful! The location itself is charming, but the festive Christmas decorations elevated the ambiance, creating a warm and inviting holiday atmosphere. We opted for the pre-fix dinner, and it was absolutely worth every penny. The meal was not only delicious but also perfectly portioned and shareable, making it ideal for a family gathering. Dining at 5 PM allowed us to enjoy a relaxed and unhurried experience, soaking in the festive vibes. The restaurant is incredibly family-friendly, making it a perfect spot to gather with both friends and loved ones during the holidays. The excellent customer service was the cherry on top—attentive, warm, and professional throughout our meal. Overall, Brickmans Restaurant & Bar provided us with a memorable Christmas dining experience, and we can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking to celebrate in a cozy and welcoming setting.

Love the changes made from the old grill to Brickmans! We've been here a couple of times now, and the food has all been good. The PRETZEL is one of the best I've had - fluffy, fresh, with good beer cheese. The burgers are all really good, and the $15 price is awesome as it includes their specialty burgers (like the truffle burger) and includes the choice of fries or side. I would say the truffle burger needs more "truffle" flavor, but I like strong flavors, so that's my opinion. The chipotle sauce is the best and has a nice roasted kick to it. The fish and chips were good, nice large pieces of flakey white fish. The atmosphere with a view of the golf course and heaters and fire pits outside is perfect, quiet, and relaxing, especially for a date. The inside is nice and modern as well, but I always love the option to sit outside if I can. It wasn't crowded during the week, plus they have happy hour! I'd definitely call about a reservation for the weekend or a special event. Will definitely continue to come back here!

So pleased and pleasantly surprised. We visited over Christmas time, the bar area so decorated so cute, like wow! Everything we ordered was excellent. Do try the hummus plate, so fresh and yummy! Also, the tomato soup was probably the best EVER! Our server was excellent and so helpful. Loved the casual vibe and relaxing environment. The only thing I'd add is lighting to the outside area against the building, it was soooooooo dark. I can't tell you how many people we observed being sat there and immediately asked to move (I know I wanted to). Other than that the fire pits are an awesome touch. Sure seems like a great place for groups. Can't wait to return and catch some music playing. Just go!

The setting- Outdoor dining looking over the driving range with their beautiful gardens, light breezes and warming fire pits set the stage. Service - several new servers are outstanding and friendly. Food - Crab cake appetizer is super flavorful with a lovely fresh salad. Beet and goat cheese salad with perfectly cooked salmon is yummy. Last night we had the salmon main course and it was really really good. And their fish and chips are the best I’ve ever had.

Regulars here. The location, golf atmosphere is great. Food is average, a few things on the menu are hits and others are not. Out of all the times I’ve been here last Sunday in the bar area our servers name I believe was Karla or Krystal (spoke spanish) She was amazing! Even though she was extremely busy she kept making sure to check in with each guests. When her colleagues would come help she would thank them. Overall her service really made me enjoy the experience all over again.

Great restaurant alongside golf course with an outdoor patio equipped with many TVs allowing for 360 degree viewing. The fire pits are super and food and service top notch.

A group of us women came to Brickman's for our Happy Hour event. Service was horrible & the worst part is that he didn't seem to care!! 40 mins to get our drinks. Most of them weren't correct, few garnishes, & I got a can of beer with no glass. We had to ask for everything - even water!! Once the food servers brought our meals our waiter came back 1 time. We had to ask for our bills. Then he never came back! We had to go to HIM. If the food wasn't so good I'd say we'd never go back. Such a disappointment.

Family lunch for 9. Food was delicious. Service was great. Even though we sat inside there are large glass windows where you could see the outdoor dining terrace and the golf course. Would definitely eat here again.

We enjoyed the Thanksgiving buffet here this year. It was our first time at Brickmans, so we took a chance but we are glad we did. Everything was delicious and more gourmet than we expected from a buffet. The menu had something for everyone. The only thing was that they didn't cook whole turkey, but overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food. Lively ambiance inside and outdoor. Well decorated for the holiday season. The servers were friendly and courteous although the service was a bit slow I guess due to the busy Turkey day. We used Orfila Winery membership for a glass of wine, that was a plus. Overall it was a well-run buffet event, and we loved the experience. We will definitely be back to try their regular menu.

Nice restaurant right by the practice putting green of the golf course, near lake San Marcos. Best thing they allow dogs in the patio/outside area. We went on a Sunday afternoon and were promptly greeted and seated. We ordered to share between two of us: Potato skins- these were our favorite and delish. Topped with beef birria, cheese, and pico de gallo Truffle it up burger- nice size burger, topped with caramelized onions, arugula, and served with tater tots (which were so crispy) Braised short rib- Not our favorite, unfortunately. The vegetables (beets and asparagus) were burned, so all you could taste was the burned vegetables. The short rib was a nice portion, but the beef and sauce were extremely salty for our taste. The mashed potatoes were creamy. Minus 1 star for the burned vegetables that was served to us. Also minus another star for the service. Unfortunately, our server was no where to be found. Our water and drink glasses were constantly empty, no one would come by to check on us. Also there was food all over the floor in the patio, from the tables being cleaned, but no one seemed to sweep the floor. So for the prices the restaurant charges, they should improve their service and also sweep under the patio tables throughout the day.

We bought tickets for the Lakehouse San Marcos Winter Wonderland so we wanted to go early and decided to try this restaurant for the first time . We were very excited for the Winter Wonderland we were feeling very festive and we were looking forward to dining here . We were seated right away outdoors overlooking the golf course . We were given menus , took over 20 minutes to get our order . I wanted to order a cocktail , received the wine and beer menu . I was told they don't have a cocktail menu but can make anything . I ordered a mai tai but later was told they don't have ingredients which is fine I ordered another cocktail instead . The waitress Becki was very unwelcoming and unfriendly . I felt very uncomfortable. I was close to leaving but my husband said we should just eat here since we were here already . I was feeling happy and festive and this was just a very unpleasant and unexpected experience . She took our orders . I ordered the Birria tacos , they give 3 tacos large portion but it was very salty . I ate 1 1/2 , I did not take home the rest since I will Not eat it My husband ordered the dirty burger and his burger was ok . My husband had to flag someone down to get a refill of his beverage twice . No refills offered until he asked . I did not get asked if I wanted another drink and Becki offered a box instead For leftovers . She was in a hurry to get us out of there . Dining here was very disappointing with the way we were treated by Becki. As much as I go out to eat I am lucky it's rare that I experience this type of service . We are not going back . The way you treat your customers you probably don't need the business . We wish we would have eaten at the other restaurant close to the resort instead of going here .

The food is delicious! Calamari was the best we've ever had from anywhere. The salsa that came with the chips and guacamole was surprisingly delicious. I had the farmer's delight burger and hubby had the dirty double burger. Both were so filling. I also had the yippee ki yay mother f****r! And it did not disappoint! Service was friendly. Everyone was very attentive. Since it's the Christmas season everything is decorated so nicely!

Great food, fun sports bar (but also very family-friendly) atmosphere, and cheerful service. I love this place! While searching for a place to eat out on thanksgiving, I happened upon Brickmans. I've never eaten there so decided to give them a try last night (11/23/24). We were greeted immediately upon entering, but they were super busy so we had to wait a moment to be seated. Once at our table our server, Tyler, was right there pouring waters and taking our beverage orders. They have a nice beer and wine list of mostly local places, so bonus points for that! For food we ordered the roasted 1/2 chicken, and the fish & chips. Both plates were super nice, delicious, and well prepared. A side note: some of their menu items are a little over-the-top. For example They have a half dozen burgers, but they're all "gourmet type" offerings with blue cheese, and onion jams and special sauces. A regular double cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and red onions would have been nice, but that's just one lady's opinion. Our lovely server ended up also taking care of two large parties sat next to us ( a 10 and 14 top), so she got a little bogged down by them: which is lack of planning by management and not her fault. So we did have to wait a while to pay our check, but we had no place else to be so it wasn't a problem. I can't believe that we've never come here for dinner until now, though. I got home and was very glad to make a reservation for their Turkey Day Buffet. I'm sure the hubby and I will be back for dinner again, and often!

Brickmans was recently added as a pickup location by our local wine club so we chose to make a stop to grab our most recent allotment. Nestled within the San Marcos Lakehouse Golf course, the venue was clean and nicely appointed. The staff was inviting and cordial, but had limited knowledge of our wine club offerings. We had some burgers for dinner and enjoyed a nice view of the grounds during the sunset. Overall, the visit was very pleasant and we'll likely return.

Brickmans Restaurant has truly become one of my favorite spots to dine. Recently, I had the pleasure of celebrating a colleague over lunch there. We enjoyed a variety of dishes, including the Fish and Chips, Dirty Double Burger, Truffle it Up, and Braised Beef Short Ribs. As for me, I couldn't resist ordering one of my favorite salads--the Beet and Goat Cheese! For the main course, I went with the Short Ribs, and they did not disappoint. The dish was served with creamy mashed potatoes with some beets and asparagus. The meat was incredibly tender, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. One thing I love about Brickmans is the generous portions. Everything we ordered was filling and satisfying. To top it off, the weather was perfect for outdoor dining, making the experience all the more

Brickmans gets a thumbs up in my book. As a designer I really appreciated the ambiance and incredible holiday decor. The service was perfect and the food was truly tasty all around. I liked the potato skins, fish and chips, crab cakes. Surprisingly the pretzel was astounding though, and my unexpected favorite. Everyone liked their drinks as well and we enjoyed watching people practice their golf swings. I would be happy to go back again. Especially when you can top off your meal with a lovely stroll by lake afterwards

Checked it out for Christmas decoration. Love the vibes it might be the only one in the area. I will for sure come back again for the main resturant that has golf view . Plenty of parking.

Stopped by for brunch and I was pleasantly surprised. We sat outside on the patio with views of the golf course. They also have heat lamps to keep you warm. Service was prompt and they stopped by a couple of times to check up on us. We ordered the breakfast burrito with sausage and bacon and the farmer market burger. The burger was average, not super flavorful but was not terrible. I did enjoy the side of fries it came with because it had a nice crunch to it. The burrito had a good amount of bacon and sausage in it, which I liked. The salsa that it came with was fresh and had a nice flavor paired with the burrito. They are also affiliated with Orfikia Winery so if you are a wine member, you can use your tastings here as well as pick up your monthly wine bottle. Overall, I like the ambiance and food was good. Looking forward to returning.

I came again to try the normal menu and really enjoyed it. During the Christmas season, a portion of the restaurant was decked out in holiday decor. It was festive enough to double as a Christmas pop-up bar. The vibes were immaculate, and every single employee I've encountered here has been so sweet. The entrees were delicious and really fairly priced.

Stopped by here with a friend to have breakfast before bowling. Looks like the restaurant is connected to a golf course, so if you're interested in golfing then eating and having drinks after this is a perfect spot for you. Was treated by the hostess as I came and seated right away. Hostess asked what I wanted to drink while I was waiting for the rest of my party, got coffee and water, I'm glad they are very attentive. Place is on the small side but seems good for a quick bite. Once the rest of my party came, we ordered and food came out pretty quick, everything tasted great, was made perfectly to what I wanted and they kept the water and coffee refills coming. I would come here again if I wanted something to eat before bowling only because other restaurants around are normally packed but this place I could get a great meal and not too pricey. Thanks again ! Also breakfast burrito looked really good will probably try next time

I loved this place when it was "The Grill" and I love it still. The service is still exceptional. The menu is refreshed but still amazing. Take my wife, son and dad for breakfast every once in awhile. Their mixed drinks from the bar are always good. Their different coffee options are always good. I recommend the Steak and Eggs Smash (my dad would also recommend the same). It is divine. Speaking of "smash" my son absolutely demolishes the pancakes. My wife approves of the Avocado Toast. It is a great place to relax by the golf coarse, sit down, take your time, enjoy the drinks, enjoy the food, enjoy the great service.

Formerly "The Grill" this restaurant makes a cute getaway for brunch. Art was our server and he did a great job taking care of us. The flavoring of the food wasn't anything extraordinary, but it was prepared and presented beautifully. Unfortunately our crème brûlée was over cooked, and didn't have that creamy texture. We weren't charged for it so they were very understanding.

Brickmans goes all out with their Christmas decor and holiday drink menu and I recommend it as a spot to grab a cocktail before going somewhere else for dinner. However, their bar is quite small. We got a couple of fun Christmas cocktails and their steak bombs. The food was underwhelming but the service was friendly and prompt.

The best thing about our experience here was the service. Everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly. The place was busy and they were understaffed and overwhelmed but they were all hustling and acting like everything was great anyway. The bar was pretty empty so we sat at the counter and had high hopes of it being quieter and more attentive given the 21+ seating, but the folks on the driving range were extremely entitled and definitely detracted from the experience. Golfers, including kids, were approaching the counter in between seated guests and YELLING for service completely out of turn and by the "squeaky wheel" principle they took precedent over all other guests, which made for an unfortunate experience. The food and beverages were just ok. This place might be ok for a bite or a beer if you're golfing anyway but to us it certainly did not stand as a dining destination on its own.

Ordered room service at the lake house hotel over an hour and a half ago. All I simply ordered was hummus and chips and guacamole and an iced tea. Nobody bothered to call or cancel the order and nobody arrived. Absolutely starving and it's close to dinner time so I'm just going to cancel.

3 stars only based on the service unfortunately!!! The food was pretty good but nothing extraordinary, (sorry forgot to take a picture of the food before we ate) some of my party ordered coffee they didn't love, I ordered lemonade that I couldn't even drink, but definitely had some service issues with our drinks taking a pretty long time to come out & our server not being super attentive & not having the most friendly approach unfortunately! But the place was very festive and nicely decorated for the holidays, had a nice view of the driving range since we sat outdoors! Would definitely be willing to come back & try again, hopefully with a better experience! But for this time it's 3 stars.

Been here several times with family and friends before the switch to Brickmans so I was excited to see what's changed. Came with a girlfriend to catch up and were greeted right away and sat by one of the fire pits. Ordered mimosas and food. Everything was still pleasant and enjoyable including the view set on the golf course. We'll be back.

We were expecting to sit near the Christmas decorations but were seated all the way in the back. It took the waitress 15 mins to come greet us and get us water. It took another 20 mins to order our food. We order the calamari and the fries. I also got one of their Christmas drinks which was the hot rum one the food was really good and the reason why I am giving it more than one star. The drink was amazing too.

We got into town late evening, found Brickmans on a recommendation. The food was outstanding, service was OK, as it did seem busy but, not too bad, and the spot was chill. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and drinks, the calamari was some of the best I've had, personally. Overall we told ourselves were definitely come back next time we're in town. Highly recommend Brickmans.

It was a great dinning experience at Brickmans. We enjoyed the holiday decor and music! Very festive. Our waitress Reese made our dinning experience exceptional. She took the time to go over the menu and answer our questions. We would definitely return! Food was amazing. The appetizers were delicious! My favorite was the cream of mushroom soup... best I've ever had. Their salad selections were great! I'd recommend the beets and goat cheese salad. The Atlantic Salmon was my favorite! And can't forget the drinks! Amazing as well. Definitely go and have lunch or dinner at Brickmans. Highly recommend it and if you get Reese as your server you are in a fabulous experience!

We had a large party of over 20 people; kids and adults. We were able to make a reservation prior and seated when we arrived on a Monday evening at 6pm. The manager informed us that we wouldn't have the patio any longer but a side of the restaurant was able to accommodate all of us. They also let us know we could only do 4 split checks, which was fine. One server took half of us and the other server took other half. Only bummer we noticed with this was that one half of us got our food 20+ minutes before the other half so the timing was wayyyy off and we were quite disappointed as the kids food was not put in priority and let them all be fed first. Overall the view, vibe, and waitresses were great. The food was good as well. Chips and guac were great, the salsa was spectacular. The goat cheese and beets salad was superb! The half chicken was okay, I am not sure if the sauce would have made it better but we said no sauce with fear it has gluten in it and my friend is celiac. Waitress never confirmed but they did say "gluten free chicken" when they brought it out. Overall we would definitely come back! Very family friendly

We are Orfila wine club members, and couldn't wait to try out the new addition to our membership! We had fantastic service from start to finish... and the food was AMAZING! Lots of options for indoor/outdoor seating with huge windows and a great view of the golf course. It was entertaining watching people at the driving range! Couldn't have been happier with our experience!

Yikes! Chickens so dry it was inedible! Then went outside to enjoy some camaraderie with fellow golfers when we were told we couldn't sit there without ordering! This was after playing in a tournament where we were fed their dry chicken and paid $300pp. Every year we do this, and every year we order more wine and tip very well. Sorry ladies, won't participate in that event again! Although it was fun winning 1st gross, longest drive and 2 skins! Hahahaha good luck with that place!

We ate lunch there two months ago and the food was excellent but the service was a bit slow. We didn't want that to deter us from coming again so we tried again this past Sunday. After standing at the hostess station for over 5 minutes someone finally came over and put us on a waiting list since we wanted to eat outside. So we sat at the bar in the stools outside. Waited over 10 minutes to get one of the two bartenders to serve us a beer and a glass of wine and only then because I waved furiously at them. Finally the hostess seated us where we watched while people who got seated after us got served. Finally we gave up and left. Waitress finally noticed us and said goodbye and have a nice day. Don't think we will be returning any time soon.

We had an amazing meal , the food was awesome, out server Cole was did a great job , loved all the holiday decorations, and you can bring your pup for outdoor dining. Great place , we will be back .

As you can see, my dirty double cheeseburger didnt make it far enough for you to see! LOL!! Take it as a sign that it is sooo good!! two 1/4 patties in between the softest buns ive ever had with all the right toppings. Definitely recommend!! We ate outside and the environment was as warm as it was welcoming. Had some cocktails to drink beforehand that really set the tone for our dining experience. Finished the night off with a cookie skillet that was to die for!! Thank you so much will definitely be coming back again

My wife and i are staying at the hotel and we ordered dinner. Riley delivered it and he couldnt have been more nice. He we needed something else from the restaurant and he relaly made it seem like it was no issue. He isnt even a server which is insane But he deserves every raise he gets.

Fantastic meal and service! I had the Dirty Double burger and would order it again! My son ordered it as well and loved it. Will definitely be back to try other menu offerings.

I love this restaurant. It used to be "the grill" which was a local favorite hotspot but the updated menu and revamped style is great now after some adjustments and growing pains. It's located overlooking the driving range with indoor and outdoor seating options. They have a great cocktail and drinks menu and the food is great! Brunch is always fun here too. Service is good and the ambiance is a relaxed, green/outdoorsy vibe. Sometimes there is live music outside. There are fire pits and heaters for when it's cold. And they always decorate nice for Christmas!

Service was slow. The food was very salty. We ordered burger and calamari and both were very very salty. The place is very nice though.

Brickman's Restaurant & Bar in San Marcos is a culinary adventure that left me feeling like I'd just had dinner with long-lost relatives, in fact, it was with my brothers from another mother! The cocktails are so delicious, the staff is as friendly as they come, making you feel right at home as they serve up a full array of different American Cuisine. I personally had the B Burger & my gosh it was delicious. If you're in the area, stop by for a meal that'll have you itching to come back!

This place is just gross. Waited at hostess stand while people looked and me and never asked if I would like to be seated, finally went and found some kid to sit us...waiter was a nightmare. He gave no care in the world about his job..took forever to get drinks, like 30 min, the kids Shirley temple took about 45 and I asked 3 times...food is by far the saltiest, over sauced food I've ever had, so gross. We used to come here a lot. It's just disgusting..the whole place needs a redo..training and a real chef!

The service was absolutely terrible. They were not busy at all and we asked for a table outside. After waiting for 20 minutes a large party walked up behind us and was sat right away. We walked out. There was plenty of tables open. Needless to say we will never be back

Fantastic service, tasty food & a great energy! We hosted clients for lunch and the staff was exceptional. Our server Arturo was friendly and anticipated every need. Danielle, the Manager greeted us with a smile and checked in on us during our meal service. Everyone is just so friendly. The Burger is a must-try! The Southwest chicken soup was a perfect pairing to a beautiful fall day. The patio is the place to be with fire pits & views of the golf course! We'll be back!

The restaurant has a great atmosphere. Sitting right on the golf course, you never seem to have a bad experience. The wait staff is lovely. The manager, i can't remember her name for the life of me, was super helpful and came to check on us multiple times. The food was incredible. I highly recommend the breakfast burrito! Will be back!

Salmon piccata was amazing! Great IPAs on tap and the appetizers are great to share. The patio has such a nice vibe especially around sunset. The staff was attentive and timely.

Decided to try happy hour. We were warmly greeted asked our seating preference. We chose the patio but looking at the outside uncomfortable bar stools we opted for a table. Nice views off the putting area and range. Our server, Heather, immediately greeted us asked if we wanted to order drinks, gave ample time to look at the menu. Very attentive. H.H. $2 off appetizers, well drinks, unimpressive house wine. We ordered wine from the reg menu a $8 Pinot Noir served in a tumbler. Followed by a $14 Austin cab served in a long stem glass. Menu selections nothing to rave about the kitchen keeps it very simple. Enjoyable guac, salsa, n chips.

I want to start off with the food I ordered was really good. It was not a crowded night, maybe 25% full. We arrived and got our bottle of wine then asked to be seated to get food and our tasting. We got seated and then waited at least 20 minutes and no one greeted us. Blondie saw us but didn't acknowledge we were even there. We then decided just go to the bar and get our tasting and an appetizer then go somewhere else to eat. The bar tender was nice but I couldn't figure out what she was doing. There was only one other person at the bar but she seemed to not know what she was doing. I feel like management should be more on this! I don't even know who our waiter was supposed to be but the one we thought was supposed to be ours spent most of the time chatting with another table. First time here, so we will give it one more try, but dang, not sure how they stay in business.

Impressed by restaurant attached to driving range. Party of 8 seated promptly on a Sunday evening. We all enjoyed our food as we watched golfers hone their skills. The Mexican chicken soup was excellent and was 50% whole chicken meat. Order a cup not a bowl. Rubin sandwich was very good.

What happened to this place? Worst service ever. Food was brought out wrong. Food was brought before drinks. Waitress didnt listen. Miss the grill

We had a great lunch at Brickman's today. The sandwiches, burgers, and salads were great and our outdoor table had a nice view of the golf course. Our server was attentive without being pushy. We will go again soon.

The burger was excellent!! I have a couple complaints & suggestions. The amount of wine per glass was so small it was ridiculous. For the price it did not make sense compared to other restaurants. The server was really great but she was doing too much to really service our table well. She was the bar tender & server for 3 large groups settled in the bar area. The last suggestion. The person taking a reservation over the phone needs to let people know, to be outside when there is entertainment, the person must request patio/outside seating.

We had a party of eight last night and the staff at Brickmans was fantastic. They were helpful in giving information on menu selection and beverage choices. The food was very delicious and its presentation enhanced its selection. The setting in the outdoor patio was another feature that made our gathering memorable. Good food, good service and great ambiance made a perfect evening.
