The Best Lunches in Nashville, Tennessee | Eater Nashville

"A power lunch of prime rib and martinis is always available at this white tablecloth-swathed restaurant on West End. The clubby dining room, which is adorned with an extensive selection of paintings featuring monkeys in all types of silly situations, is filled with well-trained servers who are ready and willing to bring the table spinach artichoke dip, wedge salads, and crab cakes at the drop of a hat. Grabbing a spot at the bar is a pro move for a solo lunch of steak frites or an order of butter crab sushi, served warm with ponzu butter." - Ellen Fort

12 Essential Brunch Spots in Franklin | Eater Nashville

"The Cool Spring outpost of the long-time Nashville favorite opens up for Sunday brunch — serving sweet starts like homemade doughnuts, syrupy brioche French toast, and pecan waffles. On the savory side, feast on an egg-topped plate of shrimp and grits alongside a white peach bellini or a zero-proof No-Paloma." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

My husband and I were in Birmingham on business and had planned to catch a good meal before heading back home... On my daughter's recommendation of Bricktop's and two others, I compared the reviews and photos of each and Bricktop's stood out! We booked a reservation for 4:15 and Bricktop's exceeded our expectations! The location is great. Parking was great! We were well received by the staff upon entry and once seated, our server was a top-notch professional! It's a short menu but the options cover all the varieties. I went with my favorite... Ribeye with a not so loaded baked potato (I opted out of the cheese)! My husband had the Meatloaf. My steak was prepared AS I ORDERED IT (MEDIUM)... My baked potato was piping hot. I had to wait and let it cool down before I could eat it. (A good problem to have) Kudos! The presentation of my husband's meatloaf was like none other and it was delicious, as were his mashed potatoes. The buttery corn was ON POINT! The O. Rings were very good but I couldn't finish them all. I forced myself to order dessert as I always like to try dessert when I try a place for the first time. The bread pudding was very good, not the best I've ever had, but still VERY good. We're looking forward to going back again just to try other items on the menu, so stay tuned! But, in the meantime, GO GET YOU SOME! 😆

I’ve been here a few times in the past, and tonight was definitely my favorite. I went on a wonderful date, and the atmosphere was very relaxed and dim, not too loud but not too quiet, and our server Sophia was very gentle, personable, and fun. She recommended her favorite appetizer, the artichoke dip, and the steak with cilantro butter was delicious. We ended the night with the most savory and warm cookie; something I recommend everyone needs to try at least once. The perfect spot for a cozy dinner✨

Google
Really great place for an extremely delicious 😋 dinner 🍽! The hospitality was next to none from the reception to the waitress. I had the Lobster Bosque for starters then the Steak-Frites cooked to perfection. Once done, I had to try their chocolate Chip Coockie skillet with fresh Vanilla ice cream!! Definitely my Go-to place when im in Birmingham!! Great job!

Google
Always consistent and delicious! My favorite restaurant in BHM. They do a phenomenal job training their staff to deliver the best experience every time. Grilled artichokes, steak frites and don’t sleep on the carrot cake! The best you will ever eat!

I thought this would be a great date night out for me and my husband. I just left this restaurant tonight 10.11.25, my reservation was set up for 6:30 made it there just in time. We were seated about 10 minutes after arriving. First we had a wedge salad and order some drinks. Husband he had his wine and I had the Prickly Pear Margarita it was different. My husband ordered our dinner while eating the salad, he got the Filet Mignon and I ordered the Ribeye, once it arrived we realized my meal was not correct they made both filet mignon. So they had to take it back and make the Ribeye. It was about 15 minutes later when they brought it out. I go and cut into it and it was very tender, I then went to cut another piece for my husband to taste and what happened then it was like I wanted to just scream. From under my meat I seat some movement, it was a "WORM", it was crawling from under the ribeye. I flag down the waitress, while people are trying to see what was happening. I pointed out to her and she was like oh my goodness and took the plate away quickly. She walked the plate up to the young lady that brought it and show her the "WORM" on the plate. She quickly came over to apologize and I was making my way to the front door to get out of that place. She said well you know that your meal will be taken care. I had no discussion and told my husband don't eat another bite. So just be mindful of what you're being served. Don't go to BRICKTOPS ever. Proof we were there. My rating is a negative but have to put something to post. Disgusting

Talk about 100% phenomenal and amazing. This restaurant will blow you out of the water every single time. I am a private chauffeur and this restaurant is 😄🌟👍One that I usually recommend to everyone for a fine dining experience. The food is wonderful just as well as the service from each and every person here, Mr Patrick 🌟🌟🌟 the main bartender took very good care of my clients and I am truly grateful. Thank you so much to the brick tops restaurant here in Birmingham, Alabama may God bless you always from your friendly, private chauffeur and security specialist Corey Turner.

Google
Dined here for my birthday dinner with my husband and it was amazing! We made a reservation and were seated quickly upon arrival. The sushi was delicious and unique! We ordered different entrees and they were both phenomenal. We even devoured a shared bread pudding!! I can’t recommend this restaurant enough! From the service, to the atmosphere, everything was 10/10!!

Google
Went to Bricktops to get prime rib and they did not disappoint. Mariela was absolutely awesome and on top of it. Side note, also had dinner with a complete random person (Evan) and it was good conversation and great time.

Yelp
first let me start off and say I like this place, good food, great atmosphere. a little noisy when its crowded, but still cool. My point to make is the established tip for groups of six or more. I have no issue with a server getting 18%, well deserved. My objection is paying 18% including the sales tax, which is 10% or more on prepared food in AL. Tip should be calculated on just the food, why do I pay 18% of the tax burden for the restaurant?

Yelp
The good at BrickTop's was amazing!!!! This was a date night spot that we wanted to try and they did not disappoint. Restaurant was nice inside and the waitress was very attentive. We ordered the spinach dip and deviled eggs as our appetizers both were absolutely delicious. I ordered a prickly pear margarita (fabulous) and I forgot what my boyfriend ordered but that little drink packed a punch. Salmon 9/10 Steak 8/10 Whipped mashed 8/10 Spinach dip 100/10 Brussels sprouts 10/10 Deviled eggs 10/10 The bacon that came with the eggs 1000/10 Planning future dates here!!!

Yelp
We were traveling through. We have one from our state, so we knew they were good. Loved this one. Great food! Great atmosphere! We had reservations for 5:30pm, but when we checked in, the bar was pretty empty, so we opted for it since bars are more lively. Downside was....snobby bartenders. We had to skip more drinks and dessert at a half empty bar. January 1 was not that busy. We will go back though next time we pass through.

Yelp
We've dined here many times before -- at least a dozen -- and have generally enjoyed our experiences, which is why this visit was especially disappointing. We requested a booth reservation not in the bar area, but when we arrived, we were told we could not be seated at a booth unless we had a larger party. This was confusing, as there were several booth tables occupied by three people, the same size as our party. Once seated, our server returned to the table every few minutes asking if we were ready, despite us explaining that it was brunch and we needed a moment to review the menu since it differed from what we'd had before. Instead of allowing us time, he hovered nearby and appeared to be watching our table, which made the experience uncomfortable. The food itself was also an issue. The salmon was overcooked and heavily seasoned. Additionally, we specifically requested the dressing on the side, yet it arrived already on the salad and had to be corrected. Throughout the meal, the server repeatedly asked if everything was on one check and continued asking if we wanted anything else, which felt less like attentive service and more like being rushed out. When he cleared the plates -- despite the fact that almost none of the salmon salad had been eaten, only a few bites total -- he never asked whether we enjoyed the food or if something was wrong. We're disappointed because this is a place we've supported many times in the past, but this brunch experience felt rushed and lacked the level of service we've come to expect.

Yelp
BrickTop's is a mid tier chain for me. It's definitely a step up from places like Chili's or Outback, but it doesn't quite hit the level of J. Alexander's or Perry's. The service was solid. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and very helpful. The ambience was quite nice too. The food itself was just... fine. Not bad, not great. You won't leave hungry, but you also won't be thinking about the meal the next day. On the plus side, the location is super convenient (near The Summit) and there's plenty of parking. Overall, it's a decent option if you're in the area, but not a spot I'd go out of my way for.

Yelp
Visited BrickTops for NYE dinner and so happy that I did! We were lucky to get a reservation. Everything was really good! They had NYE cocktails to choose from and I selected French 75. It was really good! I ordered 2!! We shared the wedge BLT salad before having the meatloaf and pork chop and we both cleaned our plates. The atmosphere was the perfect setting for NYE!

Yelp
My sis and I came here for lunch after the Christmas holiday. She hasn't been but I've been about 2 times. I told her the food is good and I normally get the same thing. I got the Steak Frites and she got a chicken dish. She really enjoyed it. I did get the lobster bisque but it was a little salty for me. We both had lemon drops and that was good. She ordered the cookie and ice cream, that was a nice treat. The place was wasn't crowded at the time we went and the set up was beautiful. So whether you are going out with friends, family, or a date. This place is for you.

Yelp
Brunch at BrickTop's never misses!! The food, service, and drinks are consistently superb! The playlist for brunch today was the right mixture of tunes! We all had something different and we all enjoyed the other meals.

Yelp
Always beautiful service! Elegant atmosphere with very large bar and jewelry box bathrooms. Helpful waitresses and host/hostesses, and even a personal touch and signatures for our early anniversary celebration. We loved everything we ordered, especially the Tavern Burger and sushi (with rare filet migon on top!).

Yelp
We made reservations for my husbands dinner on a Thursday evening. When we arrived the restaurant was fairly busy but we had no problems getting to our table. The service was friendly and quick, with great attention to detail-included added touches for the birthday! My husband got a ribeye and I had the chicken Milanese. Both were delicious, and we were surprised by how much we loved the mashed potatoes! Something so simple, was absolutely perfect!! We finished our meal with a bread pudding, which was great The vibe was business casual but there were also a few kiddos floating about so not stuffy by any means. Definitely a great place to celebrate or have a nice date nite.

Yelp
I love BrickTop's but not for the reasons people think. I did not include a picture but THE SUSHI HERE IS ONE OF THE BEST IN TOWN. Honestly such a pleasant surprise. Their brunch was good as well and I definitely have to go again. Each staff that I have encountered the 6 times I have been have always been down to earth and professional. A love!

Yelp
I was there today for late lunch and I had Petite filet mignon with mashed potato and sautéed spinach, the filet cooks perfectly and very juicy, I love everything about this dish, I opted for no salt on my sautéed spinach and it was delish! Service is fast our server is very attentive. Ambiance is perfect. I believed this will be now my new to go restaurant.

Yelp
Ok, so my wife decided to surprise me for Father's Day and take me somewhere we haven't been in a long time. When I saw that we were coming here, I was really excited to see what new offerings they had and I just like the look of the restaurant. We were seated promptly and our server came over and greeted us and took our drink order. We arrived in the middle of a shift change so our new server came over and introduced herself. She had to be new because she had no recommendations or suggestions on what we should have. We started off with the deviled eggs and candied bacon. This was a really great start. The sweetness of the bacon went very well with the deviled eggs. We asked for some bread and the bread came out cold and they were a little hard. The best thing about that was the butter. Then we received our entrees. I ordered the promotion and my wife ordered the Chilean sea bass. Mine entree was good and well seasoned but my wife's fish was another story. First the portion of the fish was really small. We have been a lot of places and never have received a piece of fish like this! It was undercooked and it was tough trying to cut it with a knife. Fish should never be so tough that a knife won't go through it. We politely told our server about this and all she said was ok. No one came by and apologized or offered anything else. Not satisfying my wife is worse than not satisfying me. The brussel sprouts were charred good but that's it. They had no flavor or seasoning.I waited to see if maybe they were busy but restaurant wasn't busy so I said forget it and let's try some dessert. We had key lime pie and the bread pudding. The pie was ok but the bread pudding could have used some warming up and I had a burnt piece! I wanted this to be good but IDK!

Yelp
Get here it's very inviting and welcome, hostess are friendly, and funny. That's the restaurant before the dinner rush, how are the restaurant staff was on point on target and wonderful. I love the open kitchen concept it makes everything seem very inviting. The dining area classy. Our server was excellent, BJ MARVEL!!!! Prime rib, oh my gosh, perfectly cooked perfectly serve the baked potato, huge, and on point. The trout cooked wonderfully had beautiful capers on top served with a Bernaise sauce. The spinach was pan seared had a perfect little charge to it loved it. Also getting the New York style cheesecake with raspberry sauce. The food temp, 10 out of 10; food portion. 10 out of 10; tastes 10 out of 10; the cheesecake OMG Phenomenal! They make the crust fresh homemade mixes truly a phenomenal cheesecake, 10 out of 10. They also make all their sauces fresh in house, not out of a box or a bag but fresh, magnificent. I will return to this restaurant. I will try other dishes. Stay tuned for more. And ask for JB. She's a wonderful waitress very attentive. She walks around. Look to see what you need. Just brings it to you. You don't have to ask. the restaurant 10 out of 10 completely all the way around it's one of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time,

Yelp
I haven't been here in many year yet it was a wonderful mindblower once again. The vibe in here is perfect for sure. It is so nice and comfortable and clean in every single spot. The server we had was super nice and helpful and a great server for us. Every single thing we ate was seriously perfect delicious. This is def the best of the best places in town for sure.

Yelp
Brick Top is consistently delicious. We will eventually have to try another app besides the Butter Crap sushi roll but maybe not. It's insanely good. What's not to love about dipping a warm crab roll in hot butter!? We both got the blue fillet mignon and it was exquisite, cooked to perfection and melt in your mouth. The baked potato it came with looked so good but I didn't even try it because I wanted to enjoy the fillet. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. We topped off the meal with the bread pudding and it was exquisite. It was a great warm treat on a cold winter day.
google avatar

Kendall W.

Yelp
When I moved here BrickTop's was highly recommended. I finally gave it a try and it was okay. The atmosphere is really nice and I loved their open kitchen concept. I was with two family members - we started with the spinach and artichoke dip which was phenomenal! For entrees we ordered the Cedarwood plank salmon , bistro chicken and Atlantic salmon. My Atlantic salmon came out cold and raw - I sent it back and stated I didn't want anything else but the kitchen manager brought me out another plate which I thought was a kind gesture. The bistro chicken and Cedarwood Salmon were really great. The Atlantic salmon needed more seasoning but was good.

Yelp
Excellent service and a delicious meal. We had a 6:45 reservation but didn't get seated for about 15-20 min. We saw both casual and very dressy outfits.
google avatar

Yelp
No wait, 5 star service from beginning to end. My first visit to Bricktop and I asked the waitress for recommendations on drinks and food. Her recommendations were wonderful! The artichoke dip, salsa and chips were the best I've ever had. So fresh and dip easy very tasty. I was torn between the chicken piccata and the salmon. I love seafood so I went with my waitress suggestion on the salmon...... it didn't disappointment. My friend's chicken piccata looked good too, I actually got to taste it and it was delish as well. I will definitely return to Bricktop.
google avatar

Jeff L.

Yelp
Despite the Yelp result of "Restaurants for large groups", BrickTop's absolutely does not cater to large groups. Per the manager, they have a single 10-top and couldn't guarantee a larger group even sitting at the same time. Not sure what the entire left side of the bar is for but just an FYI this is not large-group friendly.

Philip M.

Yelp
I eat here 5 or 6 times a year. It's always been a good experience. The crab cakes are great! Everything is fresh and high quality. They're a private restaurant group, not too big (maybe a dozen or so locations), but big enough to have great supply chain for a premium selection of steaks and seafood. They're a real asset to Birmingham. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
Food is delicious and atmosphere is great! The bacon appetizer and deviled eggs were fantastic!
google avatar

Stephanie F.

Yelp
Bricktops is always a reliable, upscale option for dinner or lunch. We typically enjoy sitting at the bar, having a drink and maybe a burger, the wedge salad, or an appetizer (calamari). The food is always great. If you're waning a more "refined" dining experience, the dining room offers white table clothes and servers wearing pearls and matching black dresses. Bricktops is always a good choice.

Yelp
I've been looking forward to coming here! This is such a great date night spot or if you're looking for an expensive feeling restaurant that won't break the bank. We had a reservation so we were seated quickly although it wasn't busy when we went. The parking lot always tricked me passing by because you would think it's packed but it's just a small parking lot. The service is top notch. The lobster bisque started off salty but got better the more I ate. I don't think it should be $14 though. My Chicken Milanese was delicious!! The chicken and pasta were so mouth watering. The broccolini wasn't as soft as I would like it to be. They blanch it so it's a bit too firm for my liking but it was seasoned so perfectly and had an amazing sauce on top. I was so stuffed in the restaurant I had a little bit to eat the next day. My boyfriend got the short ribs which is a TINY portion. He said the flavor was there (among a good amount of fat) but left him still hungry. My prickly pear margarita wasn't the best flavor wise, but I definitely felt it. I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Pamela V.

Yelp
Bricktop's is the perfect spot for that special occasion lunch or dinner. We love having lunch at the bar with a couple of cocktails. They do have the best Long Island Tea! The deviled eggs & bacon are our go to appetizer. This trip we had the steak frites & French dip. Both were amazing! I love the thin fries! Service is always excellent! The bartenders can help with a bourbon selection or shake up a dirty martini or one of those fabulous Teas.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is always cooked to perfection, and they take allergies seriously. Haven't had anything I didn't enjoy thoroughly. One of our favorites!

Yelp
For my birthday, my wife and I decided to try somewhere we had not eaten at before. Our experience this evening was so good. Laci was an excellent server and provided some really good recommendations for dinner. Ask for her. My wife went with the crab cakes and mashed potatoes. I tried the prime rib with a baked potato. Both meals were outstanding. The salted dinner rolls tasted so good. Our appetizer of shanghai shrimp was delicious. The tea is not sweet but can be sweetened with a simple syrup and turned out really nice. The atmosphere gives vibes of old classic. Very comfortable chairs at the table. The staff even surprised me with a birthday card signed by many of them. Thanks. Definitely will return.
google avatar

Yelp
I enjoyed my experience here. We went here for my wife's birthday. It was very cool that they had a birthday card for her the whole staff signed for her. I love the lowlight and the ambience. The food was great we will definitely be back for another occasion.

Yelp
This is my first time coming back to Bricktops since I moved further away from the 280 area in about 3 years. The two previous times I went, it was for Brunch. I love going to Bricktops and normally getting the Lobster Benedict as I get it every time I go! I set a reservation for 12:45PM hoping to get some amazing brunch again; unfortunately I didn't come on the correct day. I asked the waitress about the bunch menu but she notified me brunch only takes place on Sundays from 10AM-2PM. I was disappointed because I had not known this information and she expressed how she wishes site was updated because she has people come in often asking about brunch. Anywho, on to the food! We started off with an appetizer; we ordered the Shanghai Shrimp with Ponzu sauce. It was really good and the bang bang sauce went very well when dipped in the sauce. My lunch date had the Steak Frites meal with broccolini. For the price of $25 her meal was decent, the broccolini was very well seasoned and cooked perfectly!! However, the steak was a little tough the waitress didn't ask how she wanted it cooked which lead us to believe it would be a lower quality steak (which matches that price point). The herb purée/butter that came on top of the steak frites was pretty good, a good pairing overall. It also came with a leafy side that had a delicious lemon flavored dressing. She rated her meal a 7/10! I had the Grouper Sandwich, it wasn't amazing but it was okay. The Grouper was fried to perfection but lacked flavor. I didn't really care for the flavor of the tar tar sauce either (a little too much dill for my liking). I think the sweetness of the bread kind of clashed with the overall taste of the sandwich as well. The fries were good too! I'd personally give this meal a 6/10. Overall, I would only come back for Brunch, however the food and service wasn't bad. The price point is great for the ambiance and dining atmosphere!

Yelp
The food was amazing! The service was amazing! The ambience was amazing! So, I guess my experience was AMAZING

Yelp
This is now one of my favorite fine dining restaurants in Birmingham now. I felt like I was on vacation. It's so beautifully decorated. The bar and dining areas are so nice and the food was Devine!!! Everything we had was top quality and absolutely delicious! I wish this was where I ate morning, noon and night! Service was impeccable.

Yelp
Outstanding crab cakes .. decent service .. our server seemed to abandon us at the end of our lunch .. prior to paying our bill another server handled it and our original server did reappear prior to us leaving .. my husbands fish sandwhich left a lot to be desired though .. the fish was thin and dry .. we did not have dessert .. Overall fairly decent experience for me .. could have been better for my husband.. A bit pricey ..

Yelp
First time trying this place as I heard many people go for the drinks and brunch. I actually went for dinner and I enjoyed my meal and my service. My waiter recommended the prime meatloaf and I originally frowned my face to that as I would never order that when dining out. I must say the meatloaf was good with the cream whipped potatoes and crispy Brussel sprouts.
google avatar

Labarron C.

Yelp
I was treated to BrickTop's for a surprise birthday Brunch by my best friend. I really enjoyed the food. It was fresh, hot and delicious. I did order medium well but received well done steak was my only drawback. The service was good and the espresso martini was impeccable, this particular cocktail is usually a hit or miss and BT did a great job.

Yelp
A place to go when you want to dress up and feel nice - definitely one of the more elegant establishments I've been to. The food was just okay. We had the spinach dip for an app and this was surprisingly good for a simple dip. It was unfortunately taken away from us before we finished and without asking if we were done with it, but our waiter seemed to be in a rush and very focused so I guess he just assumed. The salmon, brussels sprouts, and thin cut fries were good...until you took another bite. Everything was seasoned exactly the same: copious amounts of butter, salt, and pepper. The brussels sprouts gave me a headache with how salty they were so we didn't even finish the small plate. The salmon and fries, again, were good but just had way too much salt and butter. Most definitely will not be back but it was nice to try something new.

Yelp
The food is excellent and the service is great. We save this place to take our out of town guests and family. Full bar and nice ambiance!

Yelp
Barely adequate sums up our last dining experience here. Ate a late lunch/ early dinner right before 4pm on a Friday Had the calamari starter Charred grapefruit cocktail We both ordered off the lunch menu, glazed salmon with sautéed spinach and rice pilaf The servers were very pleasant and attentive enough Food and beverages were all "meh" Cocktail which I have had in previous visits and enjoyed this time was cloyingly sweet and tasted as if it was topped off with sprite or 7up- Calamari appetizer was more pepper slices than squid, batter was unseasoned Entrees and sides were all bland and without any depth of flavor Substandard all around No reason to go back

Yelp
This was my first time here and I will definitely be returning, especially for brunch. The large windows provide a lot of natural light and the table are spread out with great chairs. The food was outstanding along with the service.

I had no discussion and told my husband don't eat another bite. So just be mindful of what you're being served. Don't go to BRICKTOPS ever. Proof we were there. My rating is a negative but have to put something to post. Disgusting

Yelp
On June 6, 2025 @3pm. Party of 7 Management stood nearby when I was drenched with cold water at my Niece's birthday celebration. Food was fair, Water cold, Service terrible. Waiter was apologetic, but management was dismissive and cold. Terrible customer service. I don't recommend BRIKTOP'S Restaurant Birmingham for any occasion nor do I plan to return again. Change management of BRICKTOP's Birmingham location before your bottom line suffers....This is not good business practices.

Yelp
One of my best friends was visiting from Montgomery so we stopped by Bricktops for Sunday brunch. It has an easy going, elegant vibe that made it the perfect place to chat and catch up with one another. The steak and eggs were amazing! Mine was cooked medium and so juicy. My friend got the shrimp and grits and ended up cleaning her plate. We were so full, but decided to split the bread pudding for dessert and it was totally worth it. The pudding was super moist and not too sweet. I'm a tequila girl, so we also tried the prickly pear margarita and it easily became one of my fav cocktails around town. Great recommendation by our server. My bestie made me promise to bring her back next time for dinner!

Yelp
Always a great choice! Never disappoints. Top-notch service in an upscale restaurant that welcomes you even if you aren't dressed to impress. Try the chilean Seabass.

Yelp
Super snotty staff. My family and I were visiting for a few days and told to go to BrickTops, food was good but servers were super arrogant. I overheard our sever complaining to a trainee a few days ago that she only got a $15 tip & not to say "ya'll" what a disappointment, we came to the south for southern hospitality, you won't get that at BrickTops.

Yelp
Went for Sunday brunch for the first time. Food, service, and ambiance were all excellent! The only drawback was an entree which was added to our bill we didn't order. Will return...and check my bill carefully.

Yelp
The service was great - wait staff was attentive and the food and drinks came timely. Unfortunately, the overall quality of the food is mediocre and not consistent with higher end restaurants.
