The Best Lunches in Nashville, Tennessee | Eater Nashville

"A power lunch of prime rib and martinis is always available at this white tablecloth-swathed restaurant on West End. The clubby dining room, which is adorned with an extensive selection of paintings featuring monkeys in all types of silly situations, is filled with well-trained servers who are ready and willing to bring the table spinach artichoke dip, wedge salads, and crab cakes at the drop of a hat. Grabbing a spot at the bar is a pro move for a solo lunch of steak frites or an order of butter crab sushi, served warm with ponzu butter." - Ellen Fort

12 Essential Brunch Spots in Franklin | Eater Nashville

"The Cool Spring outpost of the long-time Nashville favorite opens up for Sunday brunch — serving sweet starts like homemade doughnuts, syrupy brioche French toast, and pecan waffles. On the savory side, feast on an egg-topped plate of shrimp and grits alongside a white peach bellini or a zero-proof No-Paloma." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Dined here for my birthday dinner with my husband and it was amazing! We made a reservation and were seated quickly upon arrival. The sushi was delicious and unique! We ordered different entrees and they were both phenomenal. We even devoured a shared bread pudding!! I can’t recommend this restaurant enough! From the service, to the atmosphere, everything was 10/10!!

Google
Excellent service. Good atmosphere. Food was okay. Just kinda plain American food. Nothing I tasted was particularly interesting or unique. And the price point is high. The seasoning was unbalanced with some food quite salty and other food bland. The mocktails were basically just "juice with soda water" and a little disappointing, overly sweet. Was glad we tried it, but for the price there are other restaurants I prefer and for the type of food served, there are less expensive versions, I prefer. There are so many details about the place that are really great... but the food just didn't rise to that level of the other elements. There was nothing wrong with the food, but nothing really spectacular about it.

Google
Very consistent amazing food. I always get the filet with fries and never regret it. The banana bread old fashion is a must. I’ve never had carrot cake anywhere as good as Bricktop’s. The key lime pie is also top notch. The management team has this place dialed in.

We had a pleasant dinner here. The food quality was good. Unfortunately not everything on the menu was available. The steak was very delicious and perfect temperature. The service was very friendly and attentive. It’s a little pricey but all in all good.

We stopped here back in December 2023 on a Saturday night. The place was packed including standing room only at the bar with at least a 45 minute wait for a table. Learning from this we made a reservation this time and was seated within a few minutes of our arrival. Definitely better to make a reservation rather than dropping in unannounced. Our waitress recorded our drinks and placed an order for the Spinach and Artichoke dip appetizer. Someone made a comment in their review about it being very good and they were spot on! While the menu is not extensive you should be able to find something you like. I ordered the blackened salmon with sautéed corn and my wife had the Bistro Chicken with the creamy whipped potatoes. Both were excellent. The desserts were very good. I should have requested to hold the nuts from the key lime pie but it was still very good. The hot fudge sundae was excellent. The staff was outstanding, along with the food, and the service. They made our anniversary special. We will definitely will be back in the future.

Food was excellent. Loved the atmosphere - nice and quiet, well designed and comfortable. Portions were just right. Our waiter was great with very prompt service.

Google
Bricktop's was always my go to place when taking out of town friends. Not sure what happened on my last visit, but too many items to attribute it to an "off" night. 1. When making reservation told them we preferred a table, got seated in a booth. When two of the group are over tall people, makes it a little tight. **there were tables available in dining room. 2. Food was not even warm when brought to table (steak and pork chop both dry). 3. Our service was quite disappointing. Maybe waitress was having an off night, but sure seemed like she preferred to be elsewhere and definitely not waiting on us. 4. Lastly, the AC seemed to be catching up all night. Maybe it was the tight fit in the booth, but sure got warm at times in the dining room. Be a while before we come back...too many other places with good food and for that price.

The Chicken Milanese is superb. The spinach dip appetizer is one of my favorites. I love the ambience and service at Bricktop’s.

Yelp
Get here it's very inviting and welcome, hostess are friendly, and funny. That's the restaurant before the dinner rush, how are the restaurant staff was on point on target and wonderful. I love the open kitchen concept it makes everything seem very inviting. The dining area classy. Our server was excellent, BJ MARVEL!!!! Prime rib, oh my gosh, perfectly cooked perfectly serve the baked potato, huge, and on point. The trout cooked wonderfully had beautiful capers on top served with a Bernaise sauce. The spinach was pan seared had a perfect little charge to it loved it. Also getting the New York style cheesecake with raspberry sauce. The food temp, 10 out of 10; food portion. 10 out of 10; tastes 10 out of 10; the cheesecake OMG Phenomenal! They make the crust fresh homemade mixes truly a phenomenal cheesecake, 10 out of 10. They also make all their sauces fresh in house, not out of a box or a bag but fresh, magnificent. I will return to this restaurant. I will try other dishes. Stay tuned for more. And ask for JB. She's a wonderful waitress very attentive. She walks around. Look to see what you need. Just brings it to you. You don't have to ask. the restaurant 10 out of 10 completely all the way around it's one of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time,

Yelp
Ok, so my wife decided to surprise me for Father's Day and take me somewhere we haven't been in a long time. When I saw that we were coming here, I was really excited to see what new offerings they had and I just like the look of the restaurant. We were seated promptly and our server came over and greeted us and took our drink order. We arrived in the middle of a shift change so our new server came over and introduced herself. She had to be new because she had no recommendations or suggestions on what we should have. We started off with the deviled eggs and candied bacon. This was a really great start. The sweetness of the bacon went very well with the deviled eggs. We asked for some bread and the bread came out cold and they were a little hard. The best thing about that was the butter. Then we received our entrees. I ordered the promotion and my wife ordered the Chilean sea bass. Mine entree was good and well seasoned but my wife's fish was another story. First the portion of the fish was really small. We have been a lot of places and never have received a piece of fish like this! It was undercooked and it was tough trying to cut it with a knife. Fish should never be so tough that a knife won't go through it. We politely told our server about this and all she said was ok. No one came by and apologized or offered anything else. Not satisfying my wife is worse than not satisfying me. The brussel sprouts were charred good but that's it. They had no flavor or seasoning.I waited to see if maybe they were busy but restaurant wasn't busy so I said forget it and let's try some dessert. We had key lime pie and the bread pudding. The pie was ok but the bread pudding could have used some warming up and I had a burnt piece! I wanted this to be good but IDK!

Yelp
I love BrickTop's but not for the reasons people think. I did not include a picture but THE SUSHI HERE IS ONE OF THE BEST IN TOWN. Honestly such a pleasant surprise. Their brunch was good as well and I definitely have to go again. Each staff that I have encountered the 6 times I have been have always been down to earth and professional. A love!

Yelp
I haven't been here in many year yet it was a wonderful mindblower once again. The vibe in here is perfect for sure. It is so nice and comfortable and clean in every single spot. The server we had was super nice and helpful and a great server for us. Every single thing we ate was seriously perfect delicious. This is def the best of the best places in town for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
Brick Top is consistently delicious. We will eventually have to try another app besides the Butter Crap sushi roll but maybe not. It's insanely good. What's not to love about dipping a warm crab roll in hot butter!? We both got the blue fillet mignon and it was exquisite, cooked to perfection and melt in your mouth. The baked potato it came with looked so good but I didn't even try it because I wanted to enjoy the fillet. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. We topped off the meal with the bread pudding and it was exquisite. It was a great warm treat on a cold winter day.
google avatar

Yelp
I was there for lunch today and ordered my favorite Petite filet mignon with sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes, food came in no time as I dig in on my sautéed spinach it was soooo salty(please go easy on salt) that sauce run down on my plate into my steak and bacame a little salty. Told the lady and she replaced it but to my surprise it didn't alter the taste at all, still salty as the first one. Love the steak though, it's juicy and tender. Ambience is good.

Yelp
Bricktops is always a reliable, upscale option for dinner or lunch. We typically enjoy sitting at the bar, having a drink and maybe a burger, the wedge salad, or an appetizer (calamari). The food is always great. If you're waning a more "refined" dining experience, the dining room offers white table clothes and servers wearing pearls and matching black dresses. Bricktops is always a good choice.
google avatar

Fred B.

Yelp
Ambience as well as the service and great food!! First and definitely not the last time dining.
google avatar

Yelp
I have heard good things about it but never met nobody there yet... but looking forward to go soon.

Yelp
This is now one of my favorite fine dining restaurants in Birmingham now. I felt like I was on vacation. It's so beautifully decorated. The bar and dining areas are so nice and the food was Devine!!! Everything we had was top quality and absolutely delicious! I wish this was where I ate morning, noon and night! Service was impeccable.

Yelp
Bricktop's is the perfect spot for that special occasion lunch or dinner. We love having lunch at the bar with a couple of cocktails. They do have the best Long Island Tea! The deviled eggs & bacon are our go to appetizer. This trip we had the steak frites & French dip. Both were amazing! I love the thin fries! Service is always excellent! The bartenders can help with a bourbon selection or shake up a dirty martini or one of those fabulous Teas.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is excellent and the service is great. We save this place to take our out of town guests and family. Full bar and nice ambiance!

Yelp
A place to go when you want to dress up and feel nice - definitely one of the more elegant establishments I've been to. The food was just okay. We had the spinach dip for an app and this was surprisingly good for a simple dip. It was unfortunately taken away from us before we finished and without asking if we were done with it, but our waiter seemed to be in a rush and very focused so I guess he just assumed. The salmon, brussels sprouts, and thin cut fries were good...until you took another bite. Everything was seasoned exactly the same: copious amounts of butter, salt, and pepper. The brussels sprouts gave me a headache with how salty they were so we didn't even finish the small plate. The salmon and fries, again, were good but just had way too much salt and butter. Most definitely will not be back but it was nice to try something new.

Yelp
I've been looking forward to coming here! This is such a great date night spot or if you're looking for an expensive feeling restaurant that won't break the bank. We had a reservation so we were seated quickly although it wasn't busy when we went. The parking lot always tricked me passing by because you would think it's packed but it's just a small parking lot. The service is top notch. The lobster bisque started off salty but got better the more I ate. I don't think it should be $14 though. My Chicken Milanese was delicious!! The chicken and pasta were so mouth watering. The broccolini wasn't as soft as I would like it to be. They blanch it so it's a bit too firm for my liking but it was seasoned so perfectly and had an amazing sauce on top. I was so stuffed in the restaurant I had a little bit to eat the next day. My boyfriend got the short ribs which is a TINY portion. He said the flavor was there (among a good amount of fat) but left him still hungry. My prickly pear margarita wasn't the best flavor wise, but I definitely felt it. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
For my birthday, my wife and I decided to try somewhere we had not eaten at before. Our experience this evening was so good. Laci was an excellent server and provided some really good recommendations for dinner. Ask for her. My wife went with the crab cakes and mashed potatoes. I tried the prime rib with a baked potato. Both meals were outstanding. The salted dinner rolls tasted so good. Our appetizer of shanghai shrimp was delicious. The tea is not sweet but can be sweetened with a simple syrup and turned out really nice. The atmosphere gives vibes of old classic. Very comfortable chairs at the table. The staff even surprised me with a birthday card signed by many of them. Thanks. Definitely will return.
google avatar

Russell M.

Yelp
I enjoyed my experience here. We went here for my wife's birthday. It was very cool that they had a birthday card for her the whole staff signed for her. I love the lowlight and the ambience. The food was great we will definitely be back for another occasion.

Yelp
The food was great, but the staff were not as inviting as some have suggested . I love the Ambiance great for a nice romantic dinner.

Yelp
When I moved here BrickTop's was highly recommended. I finally gave it a try and it was okay. The atmosphere is really nice and I loved their open kitchen concept. I was with two family members - we started with the spinach and artichoke dip which was phenomenal! For entrees we ordered the Cedarwood plank salmon , bistro chicken and Atlantic salmon. My Atlantic salmon came out cold and raw - I sent it back and stated I didn't want anything else but the kitchen manager brought me out another plate which I thought was a kind gesture. The bistro chicken and Cedarwood Salmon were really great. The Atlantic salmon needed more seasoning but was good.

Yelp
Went for Sunday brunch for the first time. Food, service, and ambiance were all excellent! The only drawback was an entree which was added to our bill we didn't order. Will return...and check my bill carefully.

Yelp
This is my first time coming back to Bricktops since I moved further away from the 280 area in about 3 years. The two previous times I went, it was for Brunch. I love going to Bricktops and normally getting the Lobster Benedict as I get it every time I go! I set a reservation for 12:45PM hoping to get some amazing brunch again; unfortunately I didn't come on the correct day. I asked the waitress about the bunch menu but she notified me brunch only takes place on Sundays from 10AM-2PM. I was disappointed because I had not known this information and she expressed how she wishes site was updated because she has people come in often asking about brunch. Anywho, on to the food! We started off with an appetizer; we ordered the Shanghai Shrimp with Ponzu sauce. It was really good and the bang bang sauce went very well when dipped in the sauce. My lunch date had the Steak Frites meal with broccolini. For the price of $25 her meal was decent, the broccolini was very well seasoned and cooked perfectly!! However, the steak was a little tough the waitress didn't ask how she wanted it cooked which lead us to believe it would be a lower quality steak (which matches that price point). The herb purée/butter that came on top of the steak frites was pretty good, a good pairing overall. It also came with a leafy side that had a delicious lemon flavored dressing. She rated her meal a 7/10! I had the Grouper Sandwich, it wasn't amazing but it was okay. The Grouper was fried to perfection but lacked flavor. I didn't really care for the flavor of the tar tar sauce either (a little too much dill for my liking). I think the sweetness of the bread kind of clashed with the overall taste of the sandwich as well. The fries were good too! I'd personally give this meal a 6/10. Overall, I would only come back for Brunch, however the food and service wasn't bad. The price point is great for the ambiance and dining atmosphere!

Yelp
Another amazing dinner at BrickTops! Service on point as always. Never a disappointing meal here.

Yelp
Outstanding crab cakes .. decent service .. our server seemed to abandon us at the end of our lunch .. prior to paying our bill another server handled it and our original server did reappear prior to us leaving .. my husbands fish sandwhich left a lot to be desired though .. the fish was thin and dry .. we did not have dessert .. Overall fairly decent experience for me .. could have been better for my husband.. A bit pricey ..
google avatar

Yelp
First time trying this place as I heard many people go for the drinks and brunch. I actually went for dinner and I enjoyed my meal and my service. My waiter recommended the prime meatloaf and I originally frowned my face to that as I would never order that when dining out. I must say the meatloaf was good with the cream whipped potatoes and crispy Brussel sprouts.
google avatar

Labarron C.

Yelp
I was treated to BrickTop's for a surprise birthday Brunch by my best friend. I really enjoyed the food. It was fresh, hot and delicious. I did order medium well but received well done steak was my only drawback. The service was good and the espresso martini was impeccable, this particular cocktail is usually a hit or miss and BT did a great job.
google avatar

LaUrAlEe B.

Yelp
Barely adequate sums up our last dining experience here. Ate a late lunch/ early dinner right before 4pm on a Friday Had the calamari starter Charred grapefruit cocktail We both ordered off the lunch menu, glazed salmon with sautéed spinach and rice pilaf The servers were very pleasant and attentive enough Food and beverages were all "meh" Cocktail which I have had in previous visits and enjoyed this time was cloyingly sweet and tasted as if it was topped off with sprite or 7up- Calamari appetizer was more pepper slices than squid, batter was unseasoned Entrees and sides were all bland and without any depth of flavor Substandard all around No reason to go back
google avatar

Sara W.

Yelp
This was my first time here and I will definitely be returning, especially for brunch. The large windows provide a lot of natural light and the table are spread out with great chairs. The food was outstanding along with the service.

Jill W.

Yelp
One of the best filets I've ever had. The food and drinks were all amazing. The only issue was in dividing our checks at the end.
google avatar

Kiwi D.

Yelp
Always a great choice! Never disappoints. Top-notch service in an upscale restaurant that welcomes you even if you aren't dressed to impress. Try the chilean Seabass.
google avatar

Tara W.

Yelp
Super snotty staff. My family and I were visiting for a few days and told to go to BrickTops, food was good but servers were super arrogant. I overheard our sever complaining to a trainee a few days ago that she only got a $15 tip & not to say "ya'll" what a disappointment, we came to the south for southern hospitality, you won't get that at BrickTops.

Debra J.

Yelp
The wait staff and Mâitre d were exceptionally great and the food was awesome! We love the beautiful decor and space between table seating.

Scott H.

Yelp
Food was average at best -- steak was leathery and tasteless. Service was poor... walked in and FOH was a collection (three or four people) that just stared at the computer and did not smile or extend a welcome... Although the individual serving us was quite polite, seemed distracted and more interested in talking to buddies than genuinely connecting with me and my wife. I had thought the experience was akin to Houstons in Houston but it was not. Not coming back.

Michael H.

Yelp
We didn't mind waiting the 25min Had a drink at the bar service great. ((Should have had dinner) got to the table order was taken appetizer served and then immediately main course, I had only just started my appetizer, I'm sorry but how can I enjoy it whilst rushing the soup and letting my main course get cold. So sorry I just sent it back told the manager I was now upset and was leaving. Didn't want the main course. It's a great atmosphere and the food looked delicious but my server didn't give me good service. Maybe I'll try again another time

Yelp
One of my best friends was visiting from Montgomery so we stopped by Bricktops for Sunday brunch. It has an easy going, elegant vibe that made it the perfect place to chat and catch up with one another. The steak and eggs were amazing! Mine was cooked medium and so juicy. My friend got the shrimp and grits and ended up cleaning her plate. We were so full, but decided to split the bread pudding for dessert and it was totally worth it. The pudding was super moist and not too sweet. I'm a tequila girl, so we also tried the prickly pear margarita and it easily became one of my fav cocktails around town. Great recommendation by our server. My bestie made me promise to bring her back next time for dinner!

Ann S.

Yelp
The bar service on Sunday night February 16 was the worst. Bar workers never looked up. Never checked to see if we needed anything. Didn't refill water - didn't offer a beverage when we sat down. My Shanghai's shrimp were cold in the middle. Crab cakes were suppose to be without remoulade sauce- they came with- he scraped it off & brought back. I guess if you're allergic to it tough beans bc I could still taste it. We wanted desert but went to the grocery store for ice cream instead bc no worker asked or was available for us to order. It's not cheap to buy crab cakes. Shrimp , and salmon dinners. I've been so many times to brick tops - in many cities but I I will never go back to this location.

Hannah I.

Yelp
My husband and I dined here tonight for a late Valentine's Day dinner and it was exceptional! We got the grilled artichokes and shrimp appetizers and they were both delicious. I had the ribeye and he had the prime rib and they were both unbelievably amazing. For dessert we had the bread pudding which was phenomenal! We had a few drinks which were the banana bread old fashioned, charred grapefruit, a French martini and a White Russian, which were all great! The atmosphere was so nice and our waitress was so attentive and very kind. We will definitely be back soon!
google avatar

Kameron W.

Yelp
Food was great. The server provided good service. Wait was long but that's only bc it was a holiday. 5/5 stars.

Yelp
Excellent service and food. BrickTops never disappoints. Make a reservation if possible.

Yelp
Good food but pretentious service. I'd definitely good back next time in town. But I'll know to take my bougie pill first.

Wendy M.

Yelp
BrickTop's is always quality food, service, and facility every time we go. The staff is professional and patient with all orders/requests. And possibly a little known fact, the restroom is impeccably clean! (This is hard to find in restaurants these days!) I have never had a bad experience here. Well done BrickTop's!

Renae C.

Yelp
I give this a 2 star , due to the customer service . Actually I was visiting from out of town for a family member funeral. We decide to stop in for lunch , looks like a pretty good place , according to the reviews on Yelp . Upon entering the door the hostess was a little cold , and then the server never made eye contact . I intentionally ask question to get a response from her , and she never looked up , how rude. My first thought was to ask for another server , but my daughter was so .. well she beloved in giving folks every opportunity to do the right thing . The food was fine , like I said we were visiting, so there's no chance we will be going back . Now we notice the interaction with this same server and other customers at the tables around us , what a difference she was totally interacting and smiling . What was the difference , between us and the other customers , I think it's obvious ....

Dakota Jo K.

Yelp
BrickTop's has a very lively atmosphere, but relaxed enough to wind your day down. From steaks, chicken, best stir fried veggies, and cocktails you will not be disappointed! The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and always ready to serve with a smile.
google avatar

Marc M.

Yelp
Great! Best restaurant experience we've had in many years. The food was great. Cocktails were spot on. Wonderful wait staff.
google avatar

Alexis P.

Yelp
Service is Amazing and the food is ridiculously delicious ! I've been here on several occasions and they never disappoint.
google avatar

Mari C.

Yelp
I would almost give Bricktop's a 10 out of 10, but I had to take a few points off for my trout being a little past grilled. It was a little too charred for my tastebuds, but still a very good fish. The star of the meal was hands down the fettuccine alfredo. It was the perfect balance of creaminess and cheesiness. I would be that alfredo if I could it was so delicious. I ended my meal with the bread pudding, stunning! The service was top tier, no complaints. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion whether for an after work bite or to celebrate a special occasion the ambience fits all different esthetics. I will be returning on my next visit to Birmingham.
google avatar

Jay F.

Yelp
My new favorite place! The food, service, and ambiance were all exceptional. It was easy to make a reservation, and when we arrived there was no wait. There is also ample parking. I will definitely return in the future.
google avatar

Sara R.

Yelp
This place never disappoints! I love how the service and food is so consistent. Additionally, they always have something new on the menu each time I go. The sushi is phenomenal which one might find surprising for not being an Asian restaurant. Even though it can be crowded the atmosphere never seems loud or crowded because the seating is well spaced. I love this place and will continue to return!
google avatar

Chad S.

Yelp
Great atmosphere food and service here!! Highly recommend them and reservations they stay busy!! One of the perfect places I've never had an issue with only positive things to say
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
I love their brunch, but have only had one entree and order it every time single time I go. Scrambled eggs with steak, cheese grits and english muffin. Everything is just perfect, price reasonable and a nice dining experience. It is alot of food for me so I usually share the steak or bring it home for supper. Have had supper here one time- I had a side of spinach. The trout was good-not great, but oh my- the spinach was so good! Think next time I will order an appetizer and a side of spinach!!
