The Crazy Lobster Has Closed | Eater New Orleans

"A hotly anticipated restaurant, Briquette brought chef Robert Vasquez to New Orleans after he closed his popular North Shore restaurant Opal Basil. It was promised that NOLA Opal Basil would open next door to Briquette, but the NOLA Opal Basil wasn’t operating by the time Vasquez left and that space was retooled and opened as Cajun Cookery. Vasquez left Briquette; Hosie Bourgeois then stepped into the chef spot, debuted a new menu, but Bourgeois left the restaurant two months ago." - Alison Baitz

Google
went to Briquette in New Orleans for a date night. The servers were attentive and friendly, but I wish the space felt a bit cozier. The food was delicious- really well prepared and full of flavor, though I did find it a little on the pricey side. Still, everything we had was worth trying, and it made for a nice night out.

Google
This restaurant was really nice and the servers and staff were so great! The drinks were top tier. They helped me and my husband celebrated our 20th Anniversary with 2 glasses of the best champagne and a tasty slice of chocolate cake! but I have to be honest I was not pleased with my food unfortunately. My husband wasn't wowed either. It was just okay for him. I still appreciate the experience.

Google
Wowwww ! what a treat! We were four people, and every single dish was exceptional. The staff was incredibly friendly! big thanks to them for the warm and attentive service. The food was so good, we came back the next day just for the desserts! If you're in the area, this place is an absolute must.

Google
This is a very cute restaurant with fantastic artwork. The service was impeccable the food was average only because it was in New Orleans and there are plenty of great food options. We had a party of 10 and we all had a blast and were able to talk to each other and be comfortable

Google
This is a very nice looking restaurant, and the staff is friendly and helpful, but the food was not good. If I pay $10 for bread it can't be the frozen bread that you buy at the supermarket (it was very chewy and under baked). The scallops were undercooked. The Spritz (special drink for the night) was watered down and had a funny taste. I wish I could have better things to say, but the quality of the food is pretty important for a restaurant. The gumbo was good though.

Google
Work travel and saw this place near my hotel. Great food, a little expensive, but it's definitely worth it! Awesome service... Thanks, Will, for being attentive and suggesting meals that did not disappoint!. The scallops are amazing and cooked to perfection 👌. If you are visiting New Orleans, this restaurant should be on your list!

Fred D.

Google
Beautiful restaurant tremendously personable staff and fantastic food. I had a surf and turf. The scallops and beef medallions both were extremely tender and bursting with flavor.

Tim J.

Google
This place has some of the best seafood I've ever had in a restaurant! What we ordered: Oysters Rockefeller, seafood gumbo, and crab bisque to get us started. Main dishes included the Redfish on the Half Shell and Snapper Ponchartrain. I am so satisfied to say that each dish has a good amount of seafood in it and wasn't just fluffed by all the other stuff in the dish. Plenty of shrimp and crab meat on our plates and I'm our bowls. The flavor and sauces were great and the portion sizes were more than adequate! I will be looking for this place EVERY TIME I'm in NOLA from now on!

Yelp
Briquette is the perfect restaurant for anyone visiting New Orleans! It is upscale and conveniently located near the convention center. A great place to go for large groups as their staff is accommodating and takes reservations. Everything from their drinks to their apps, entrees and desserts were delicious. Service was professional, staff were very charming and answered all our questions about the menu. I cannot wait to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
Best food I had here in the three days I have been to New Orleans. The red fish on the half shell was amazing. Also super friendly staff!
google avatar

Colette C.

Yelp
The location has happy hour from 3-6 Monday-Friday. It's quiet, elegant with jazz music playing in the background. Timmy was our bartender and not only was he knowledgeable on the menu and drink options but was very engaging. Perfect for a relaxing evening with your partner.
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
Food was excellent but service was just ok. It was thanksgiving and very busy. It just didn't seem to fully rise to the price point required. And it was out of the French quarter. In the future I would skip
google avatar

Nigel M.

Yelp
Briquette is a beautifully designed restaurant located in the heart of New Orleans' Warehouse District. During our visit for an industry event, we enjoyed light fare charcuterie and were impressed by the friendly service. The highlight was the bartender's incredible old fashioned, which was so good I ended up having three! We plan to come back and try the menu with the seafood offerings because the atmosphere and curated cocktail list make Briquette a spot worth revisiting.

Yelp
Reservations for a group of eight at 7:30pm. We arrived togetherness for the most part and they seated us immediately. One server for the group and he did a great job. He was actually a hoot. Very known with a great sense of humor. Several of us had the lump crab bisque which was possibly the best I have had. I had the red fish on the half shell as my main and it was delicious. The molasses bananas foster was interesting take on the old local flavor and was delicious. Great meal for all of us that had fish or seafood. The two steaks at the table were ordered medium rare and came out closer to well. Hardly any pink but they both said they tasted good. I would have asked for a redo but they said they were still tasty. Great seafood and deserts and the beverages were all good.
google avatar

Yelp
Unfortunately, one star may be nice for this restaurant. We were a party of two, so not a hard table. I ordered the Salmon, which I will say was cooked perfectly, but the cold slaw had great flavor yet it was ice cold (just out of the fridge) and I think ruined the fish. My partner ordered the twin medallions (cooked medium) with fish and scallops. When the dish was served one medallion was a nice thickness, but was very rare and the other was a thin overcooked hockey puck, the scallop was overcooked. Our server never came back and we got the server from the table next to us to take the food back. Our server brought the supposed new dish. Well it was 2 new pieces of meat both cooked rare and put on the same plate that was sent back with the scallop that had a bite taken out. Since the plate went back twice, we opted for another dish. Which came so fast that the server must have taken someone else's order. Not once did anyone in management come by to apologize and the dessert we were given as an apology did not have all the condiments with it. We spoke to the couple at the table next to us and although their food options were different (pork chops). They also said their food was not that good and would not be back.

Yelp
We made a reservation for a nice birthday dinner with friends and family. We were seated immediately upon arriving. Our waiter was very friendly and took our drink order and provided the Bread for the table promptly. It was nice to see the chefs and souz chefs preparing food it added a unique ambience to the dining experience. My Dirty Martini was perfect! The Mussels were amazingly tasty accompanied with fries. The Scallops were so tender and savory. This was my favorite. The Seafood Gumbo rue was awesome. Every dish was enjoyed and filling. Hope to visit again while visiting New Orleans in the future.
google avatar

Kristina D.

Yelp
Food was great - everything we had was well above average and tasty: Gumbo 9/10 (not pictured bc we devoured it too quickly) Halibut 8.8/10 Lamb shank pasta 7.6/10 Bread pudding beignets 9.5/10 Ambiance was casual enough for a regular weeknight dinner but still upscale enough for a date. The decor was simple but cute, a mix of rustic and modern that many New Orleans restaurants have. Service was ok. After being seated we had to wait a while for our server to come to our table (long enough that we were looking for him for several minutes) and we had to get his attention. That being said, once we did get his attention he apologized and was very attentive and accommodating the rest of the time we were there. He was also helpful with recommendations and made sure we enjoyed everything. Overall I would eat here again and want to try some of their other dishes.

Aaron F.

Yelp
Very expensive when all items are added in. More than twice the cost of any other dinner we had in New Orleans. Food quality, while good, does not match the price. Very loud. Nice people.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Delicious seafood restaurant in a large space. I always worry that these larger restaurants just mass produce food but everything I had here was really flavorful and I'll definitely be back. I ordered the scallops to start and the red fish fully loaded. The scallops were amazing and they came on this crispy cheesy thing. The redfish was very tender, and you can add crawfish crabmeat and shrimp for an extra $30. Absolutely worth it. Our server Michael was attentive and helpful. This is a great place for a large group or party.
google avatar

Ellie M.

Yelp
Absolutely consider Briquette for your next event. They had a glass of champagne for our Krewe as soon as we walked through the door and the first course was already on the table ready to eat. Entrees came out in a timely manner and were all warm, which is a huge feat for 50+ people! I will definitely be going back to try more on the menu. (Some of these photos were taken by an event photographer).
google avatar

Jerry S.

Yelp
Service was great, gumbo was delicious. Had a lamb shank and couldn't eat it all. Was very tender. It was served over this spaghetti and an olive tapenade. Only thing was of concern was the cost has risen sharply.
google avatar

Daria S.

Yelp
The ambience nice. Food was delicious. Our waiter was amazing. Enjoyed our time there. I will return if I am ever back in NOLA. Signing out from Cali.
google avatar

Yelp
I dined at Briquette during Coolinary week. They had a prix fixe menu, which I love those types of menus. The restaurant is large and can accommodate large parties. I saw a mix of different types of crowds from parties, to small parties to people on dates. The food was phenomenal. I had a salad, filet with potato's and veggies, and desert. I enjoyed every bite. I also had a lemon drop and chocolate martini and they both passed the vibe check. The chocolate martini was especially strong, but good for my "after desert" desert. The food can take a long time to come, but I didn't mind because the drinks are amazing and you can really enjoy your company in between meals, but don't go here expecting super fast meals. I personally love a personal dining experience where I can enjoy the company and meal. I cannot wait to go back. I can see myself going alone, a date, or with a group! Extensive wine selection for all the wine lovers!
google avatar

J M.

Yelp
Great food! Great people. We had a group dinner ar this restaurant and the staff were amazing. The food was perfect New Orleans Cajun style. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
google avatar

Danielle H.

Yelp
Order the fish otherwise you'll be disappointed. Those who had meat were not happy with their dishes. The red fish was a crowd pleaser and the Floating Island dessert was divine! So light and fluffy like a cloud. The service was slow but the servers were nice. Just make sure you have time.... 2-3 hours.

Yelp
After a long day of sightseeing we decided that we didn't want to go far for dinner. We were staying in one of the AIRBNB apts. in the same building. I called and got a reservation for that evening. As we walked in we immediately noticed how loud it was. Our hostess seated us at a table near the bar. We were having trouble understanding each other because of the noise. Between many people in the room and all of the hard surfaces for sounds to bounce off of it was really painfully loud. My friend's smartwatch notified gave her a noise alert. It was reading the noise level at 90 decibels! We opted to order dinner to go and return to our apartment. Everyone enjoyed their dinners with the exception that my filet was cooked medium/medium well when I had ordered it medium rare. Had we still been in the restaurant I would have sent it back as I really dislike overcooked beef. There was nothing overtly wrong with Briquette except for the oppressive noise, but with so many other restaurants to choose from with good food and lovely atmospheres I don't think we'll be back.

Yelp
Briquette is a beautifully appointed restaurant. The space is large, with the kitchen exposed through large glass wall. The week night that I visited was not particularly busy, maybe 1/3 full. My guest and I both ordered seafood entrees....the almondine trout was my choice. The fish was well prepared and the serving was large. This was accompanied by a fried potato medley, which was delicious. It also was served with French green beans, which were overcooked, too salty and not at all tasty. My guest reported that her dish was "underwhelming". We shared a very sub-standard Vanilla Crème Brûlée for dessert. The vanilla has a chemical quality and the topping was not real whipped cream, but some cheap "whipped topping ". ( NO excuse for these kind of shortcuts!) This restaurant has very good ratings, so my expectations were high. The price point is also high $$$. I'm very sorry to say that my experience was not good. With so many great choices in New Orleans, I will not return, nor can I recommend Briquette

Yelp
You know, nothing can elevate a fabulous meal more than a phenomenal waiter. One word for this at Briquette: Kevin. The food was perfect. The blackened redfish was amazing, probably the best chicken andouille gumbo I've had, and the flourless cake for dessert was unparalleled. You won't be disappointed here. And I can say enough good things about Kevin. Spectacular waiters make the dinner even better.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, great service, great location! My significant other surprised me and his mom with tickets to see Wicked and we dined here before the show. We had reservations but really did t need them as it was empty when we arrived which is surprising for a Friday but it was early (5:30 pm). The only issue for me was the salad was too salty. I asked them to hold the bacon and I'm glad I did. I know cured meat is typically salty, however this was almost not edible and I don't have a sensitivity to salt. Other than that, everything else was really good.
google avatar

Pauline N.

Yelp
GREAT customer service. Our server was so cute and sweet. We were visiting NOLA, and she was kind enough to give us some recommendations on what to do here. Loved the Oysters Bienville en Casserole! The yummiest appetizers I've ever had. Split between four girls and we managed to each get two spoonfuls. I ordered the Chicken Panee Limone as my entree. It was filling, but not that memorable. I wish I ordered the Chicken Marsala. The only thing that stopped me from getting the Marsala was the Yelp reviews here, but my friend ordered it and it tasted just fine.
google avatar

Rick M.

Yelp
Excellent gumbo! And the blackened redfish was good. Very friendly staff and surprisingly not very busy. I'd recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Sydney R.

Yelp
Wow! We stopped in here late night for a quick bite and were so impressed. The food was one of the best we had in the whole city during our NOLA trip and we wished we would've had a full meal here. We had the sea scallops and goat cheese grits and it was phenomenal. The place is beautiful as well. The only downside is you are charged for water and you are not informed of this until your bill. It was like $7 for plain water. I know its a fancy place but it would've been great to know we could've just gotten tap water for free.
google avatar

Rebecca S.

Yelp
We came as a group of 7. It was restaurant week plus that night was a white party in Nola. We went with the restaurant week menu that came with seared scallops, fish and a dessert. The appetizer seared scallops with a fried goat cheese grit was absolutely amazing. I would eat this over and over again. The fish was tasty but dry. We had a couple of options on the fish and while they both had great flavor, they were also dry. I wasn't impressed by the fish. But damn did they come thru with the dessert. Bread pudding beignet was to die for. So good I can't wait to bring my husband here just for the dessert. One of the girls got the crab bisque and it was great. Our server was great and the ambiance was nice. I would come back and hang out at the bar with drinks and small bites. I would not order an entree based off my experience.
google avatar

Daezha B.

Yelp
Simply stated: WOW! I have been anticipating dining at Briquette and finally got the chance to for a Coolinary date with one of my close friends. The ambiance is very nice and classy, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. Food: we started with the scallops accompanied by a grit cake. Very interesting texture combination, however, it blended together well! For our main dish, we opted for the redfish. It felt like a healthy choice with the accompanying veggies and greens but was delicious nonetheless. Lastly, the beignets were our dessert of choice. They were delectable and savory. Drinks: despite there being suggested wine pairings, we had French 75s. No complaints! Now that I can scratch this off my bucket list, I'll add it to my "repeat" list.
google avatar

Chelle L.

Yelp
The atmosphere was nice, it felt a little more casual than I was expecting. I'm still not really sure what the attire is supposed to be, I saw people wearing ripped jeans and t-shirts and others wearing dress shirts and dresses. It's a lot bigger than I was expecting inside and the wait staff were all really nice. The food was pretty good. The oysters Bienville appetizer we had was delicious! My husband still raves about it and it'll go down as one of our favorite oyster dishes we've had in awhile. The snapper entree was okay for me, I didn't love it but the crab meat was tasty paired with the hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were a bit salty to me. My husband's scallop and steak dish was good and cooked perfectly. We had the bread pudding beignets to end the night and I loved them! I wouldn't mind going back again to try other items on the menu.

Sidrah S.

Yelp
The service was very nice friendly. There is no specific ambiance. It is pretty much a standard New Orleans Restaurant. The food was inedible. We ordered the Tuna Poke which was sub par. The crab cake smelt very bad and did not taste good. The redfish on the half shell was also old with soggy potato's and also had very strong odor to it.
google avatar

Meghan O.

Yelp
FYI mussels and fries big enough to be a meal for 2. Delicious, giant tower. So many mussels. Service was excellent. I asked for the servers favorites and was not disappointed. I got the snapper Pontchartrain. I could've done without the crab, but that's just me. The potatoes were great - and I liked the mix of variety. The pieces of sweet potato were a nice surprise. We went because it was conveniently located to where we were staying - but I'd recommend it for anyone visiting the area. I just kinda wish I had only ordered mussels and fires because even splitting it as an app with one other it was plentyyyyy and I didn't finish my fish. I did take it back with me and had some for breakfast the next day - I just don't love that we over ordered.
google avatar

Rudy B.

Yelp
Service was terrible! We had a larger party so when we first arrived we asked our server, Cidni D, if she needed assistance. She rudely stated "no! I assure you that I've handled groups way larger than yours." More than half of our food was incorrect. One person ordered blackened shrimp and raw looking shrimp w/ no blackening came out. They "recooked" but just brought out the same shrimp w/ seasoning sprinkled on it. It took over an hour and half to just get bread and we had to ask for that. The overall service was terrible, management was worthless and to add insult to injury they added a 203$ gratuity to the bill which may not have been an issue if the food was good or it didn't take 45 min to simply get the bill. I would not go back to this place if it is still in business the next time I visit NO or recommend anyone else take a chance on it The server was rude & extremely sarcastic with her responses. A table across from us (also a large party) got their drinks, appetizers and meal before we got bread) . There were servers standing around so others could've helped but Cidni D wanted to keep the entire tip to herself! We had to ask her to bring the plates that were waiting under the warmer since the place was basically empty and we could obviously tell they were our entrees. There are so many great places to eat in NO. Do yourself a favor and try one of them!

Nathan B.

Yelp
Made a last minute reservation and am quite happy we found Briquette. Our server Darrell was on top of everything from the get go. Seafood Gumbo was excellent as was the Redfish on the Half Shell (recommend adding the crab meat and shrimp topping While I am not a huge dessert person their flourless chocolate cakes was also delicious. They also have a very affordable price on their Louis XIII ($75 for a .5 ounce pour). Would certainly go back.

Matt M.

Yelp
Service was flawless. Sydney was our waitress and was amazing. Food cooked perfectly and was delicious. Everything was outstanding. A must goto place when in Nee Orleans.

Yelp
I disclosed my gluten allergy multiple times to the server. As I began eating the salmon dish I noticed a soy flavor. I then asked the server if the soy was gluten free, and she replied no. Now I'm sick. Dishes are all overpriced as well, ranging from $40-$70 an entree.

Yelp
My husband and I had dinner with another couple a few nights ago and we had a wonderful time. Briquette is located in the Warehouse District and has no designated parking which is the norm down there. We were able to find street parking about a block away. We had a reservation, which I recommend as this place is in a hot area of the city. When we arrived our table was ready, and we were seated by a friendly hostess. Our waiter came by, introduced himself, gave us our menus and took our drink orders. He was awesome! One of the friendliest servers I've ever had - and not creepily so, he was just fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu and gave us some suggestions. We all loved our cocktails - I had a watermelon mule - well, actually I had two. My biggest issue was with the food. It was definitely a mixed bag. We had: Apps: Mussels - lukewarm and not very flavorful. The fries were good though. Crawfish Crepes - lukewarm but very tasty Scallops - perfectly yummy Two of us had the pork porterhouse. This is a huge piece of meat. The bleu cheese crusted pork was delicious, and I loved the pork belly mash with the fig demi-glace. I am a sugar whore, and went nuts for the demi-glace, but I think my friend felt differently. This is an entree for those who truly love a sweet dish. I brought home more than half of mine and ate the rest of the mash for breakfast. My friend left half of his on the table. My husband had a fish dish and wish I could remember which. He wasn't impressed. This is a cool space, with a great vibe.

Yelp
All around a five-star experience. The food was amazing. The service was fantastic. I was here with a group of about 20 people. We got a private room, and could not have been more pleased. I had the filet mignon. The portion size was huge, and the steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. All of the sides were out of this world. And the dessert could not have been better.
google avatar

Yelp
I'll start by saying that the owner and manger were very kind throughout our service. However it ends there. From the beginning, our bottle sparkling water was luck warm and served without straws, although requested. I personally went the the bar and retrieved myself. The crab cake was a sloppy mess. This too was luck warm and bitter tasting. No condiments provided, so yet again, I went to the bar to retrieve salt and pepper. At this point, it was a horror show. As I requested the check, our mussels arrived after a 35 minute wait. I wish would would have left as we have been violently ill since we left! I understand that with a holiday it can be very busy, but this was unacceptable. Yes, we were charged for everything and I did leave a nice tip. The service was terrible but I understand that this is the server's job, therefore I won't compromise that. We're stuck in our room sick today because of this nightmare. This restaurant is a far cry of what I hope. Be wary as you can end up in the hospital.

Yelp
I went here for a celebration dinner. The drinks were amazing, the vibe was cool and chic, and the service was on par. The fish was a little tough and the dessert was just okay. I'd go back and give it another try especially given how good their drinks are.

Don S.

Yelp
Very nice restaurant and ambiance. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. Food was very good but service was average...perhaps because there was a large party there as well? I had my favorite the crispy skin salmon while she tried the daily whole fish fried. Both were very fresh and delicious. Had to help her with her fish because it was so big! It was perfectly seasoned and fried! had to take mine home to enjoy later. Will be back to try the whole fish grilled next time.

Yelp
Briquette should be your next dining experience in New Orleans! Brunch and dinner menus have a variety of dishes to meet all taste palates! I've been here a few times before with a 10+ experience, every visit! You can ALWAYS get a table at Briquettes! This review details my experience in April 2022. The noise level and ambience was the perfect setting to enjoy the company of my mother in law and sister in law. Our server Jason was attentive, friendly, and served every dish HOT! Food was amazing! Cocktails and mocktails on point! The highlight of our dining experience was being greeted by Briquettes owner Al Tusa. Al was vivacious and friendly. He gave a brief overview of the history of the restaurant, and menu selections. Great dialogue! He showed generosity by escorting my mother in law to the kitchen area to meet the Chef to learn more about the dishes and desserts served. This was one of the most memorable dining experiences! I will definitely be back to connect with Jason and Al! Reserve on OpenTable, asap!

Yelp
Our server Rich was a five-Star. Created a fun atmosphere, had a lot of good suggestions, was timely in his table visits and made sure we had a great experience. Ask for him if he's working!

Yelp
I came here to celebrate a bride and groom for a fun filled weekend after their wedding day. The bride had made a resy. So we got sat down pretty quickly upon arrival. The place had some good reviews from what I saw, so I was excited to try everything! Drink - their cocktail menu has pretty standard drinks, and I didn't see any creative or signature cocktails. I went with the French 75. It tasted how it was supposed to taste, so I was fine with that. Food-I decided to go with 3 appetizers as my meal so I could try more things -crab bisque, it was really good, very deep flavor, I wish it was a bowl, not a cup, and could be ordered as a meal. - scallops. The dish consists of breaded/fried goat cheese square. I was excited because I love goat cheese. However, it had the consistency of grits/grainy paste and not in a good way. While some might enjoy it, I did not find it satisfying. It did not have the taste of goat cheese that you would expect. The 3 scallops laid on top were great. Nice buttery sear, good flavor. - crab cake. This was my least favorite. It was extremely wet consistency, soggy even. While they do describe it as crab and shrimp cake so that they don't perceive those that are expecting only crab, it did not have enough dry breadcrumbs to make it work. Kudos to them for trying. Service- we had a 11 person large group, and I know how hard it is, she did a good job and of course, got 20% from all of us baked in already to the receipt, due to the size of the group. My only struggle is this: Our server asked us if we wanted still or sparkling water upon arrival. A couple of people ordered sparkling, most ordered flat water. When she came to me, I asked for tap water only. Because I assumed there would be a charge for sparking as there always is. I did not want sparkling and did not want to be charged. When everyone got their receipt, everyone was charged $8 on their bill. I had a problem with that. It's not the $8 . I can afford that. Heck, my bill was $98 bucks. I'm trying to say it's not the money. It's the fact that all 11 of us in the party got charged for what 2 people actually received. The server explanation said that because some had gotten it, she had split it amongst everyone. Huh? A bottle of sparking water costs $50+ bucks? It didn't add up. After I explained to her that I explicitly told her I wanted tap water only, and that's what I had ordered, knowing something was off about the situation. After I said what I said, she took it off my bill only, and I was not charged. I appreciated that, so I added one star back. I am not sure if this was a marketing scheme, an oversight, or their restaurant practice, and if it was intentional or not. Either way, I dislike being charged for something I never got regardless of the party size, especially since they were individual bills.

The Macallan and Mac and Cheese flight for $40 was pure heaven. One of the best wine bars in the city

Our server was very friendly but just understaffed and did not get us several of the items we ordered. We started with the mussels, which were very good and perfect for sharing. My husband had the filet and it was under seasoned and the green beans he had were like eating rubber. I had the lamb shank puttanesca which was a huge plate and very good! Unfortunately our second found of drinks never came and they never asked if we wanted dessert, when the check was already brought over. My friend ended up getting her dessert to go. The ambiance is also a bit strange as there is absolutely zero music?? Lastly, we got the Briquette 75 cocktail and it had a bunch of dried lavender flowers in it, which chewing flowers isn't exactly appetizing. I'd suggest it as a rim on the glass for presentation, but not actually in the drink itself.

Yelp
Food & ambiance was great - our waitress did the best she could but they seemed to be running behind because it was busy. It took close to an hour for all of our food to get out, granted we had a party of 8 was just hoping it would've been a little quicker service.

Yelp
Made reservations for dinner before the Eras tour. We stumbled upon this on open table. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and deliciousness of each dish. Some of our favorites were the ribeye, redfish, visiting Red Snapper, and the Briquette Salad. Highly recommend this restaurant for a trip to NOLA!

Yelp
As normal the search for Mother's Day brunch with reservations are hard to find. So after looking around on open top found this spot. Everything was great. Wife had the Banans's Foster Chicken & Waffles and for something that's not on the normal menu it was good as hell. Don't go here and not get the "Watermelon Mule" Definitely pricey for the ambience I spent less at Ralph's On The Park lol! Our waiter Timmy was great hint speed up them bottom less mimosas refills lol

Yelp
I went to New Orleans for the first time with my stepmom and dad this week, and we ate here. Our servers were Felisha and Darrel (sorry if I missspelled their names!) and they were sooo sweet! They pulled me into the kitchen to take pictures, and overall kept making sure we were good. The food was phenomenal, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was gorgeous! At the end of our meal, they asked me when my birthday was. I told them, (it was several months away,) and they told me "oh, well just play along then. A few minutes later, they brought out a chocolate fudge cake sort of thing (I forgot the name,) with a candle, caramel, and whip cream with raspberry sauce. They sang me happy early birthday, and overall made my trip!! I loved it here, and I'm so thankful for the service, food, and kindness of all of the staff! If Darrel or Felisha are reading this, I'm so thankful for the experience you provided for me!

Yelp
We should've known when prime time Friday night the entire restaurant was empty. We decided to do our 18 yr anniversary here bc the menu looked good. Please spare yourself. This was the absolute worst New Orleans restaurant we've EVER eaten at. We spent almost $300 on just us two. We got the bisque and Purchased the two most expensive entrees. Absolute trash. We didn't even eat it. The fish and crab was rotten. The Osso Bucco was the worst I've ever had by far. We didn't eat it. My wife became ill from the snapper Pontchatrain. Rotten crabmeat. Unfortunately she ate some of it before I tasted it. This ruined our big anniversary. Oh and the "cooks" were watching me ,not cooking of course, and shaking their heads. Never saw any of them cook anything, but they just stood there and watched people receive their abominations since nobody was dining there in prime time dining time. Absolutely the worst NO restaurant. I can't believe how bad it was and we let it ruin our anniversary.

Yelp
Recommend Briquette's if you are a lover of seafood. I started with the Oysters Rockefeller. It was tasty and was a new twist on an old dish. For the main I selected the Pontchartrain Snapper. The sauce was delightful, well-balanced and supported the moist, tender and flavorful fish. A large potion too. I couldn't finish the potato side. Caution, if you are taking a client to dinner at Briquette's, the noise level is extreme with the concrete flooring. I put a decibel meter on and we averaged in the upper 80s and low 90s for noise level. The service was a little slow due to the large convention crowd.
