The Best Dishes Eater Dallas Ate in March 2025 | Eater Dallas
"The pulled pork sandwich is the unexpected standout: meats are smoked daily in a nearby ghost kitchen and the sandwich is served Carolina-style with an ancho chipotle sauce and colorful slaw. Vendors across the hall reportedly agree it’s the must-eat item; the barbecue sauce is dark, smoky, and spicy with Kansas City–style hallmarks. Pair it with a side of macaroni and cheese, which provides a fatty, cheesy, carby counterpoint to the sandwich’s acidic and spicy notes." - Courtney E. Smith
Found this spot in the Exchange Hall at the AT&T Discovery District in downtown Dallas. Offers smoked meats, sides and bowls. I got the smoked turkey bowl, which included several toppings on your choice of rice. Generous portion. Meat was tasty and flavorful. Server was friendly. Plenty of indoor/outdoor seating (but can get busy on the weekends). Will definitely be back to try other plates and options.

Tried the 2+2 platter and honestly wasn’t impressed. The brisket came shredded instead of sliced, and it was pretty dry with not much flavor. The mac and cheese was watery, and the beans were pretty basic. Pulled pork was the best of the bunch, but even that was just okay.

Chief recommended B.R Brisket, glad I took his advise! It’s the best bbq brisket burger ever had in my life!

First off let me say I don’t eat pork. But baby the brisket. Is tender moist not dry. I got a brisket sandwich with pickled onions and slaw. With the spicy bar b que sauce. I was licking my lips and fingers. Shane was amazing, especially with working with my difficult order. 10/10 definitely recommend

I thought it was a restaurant but it's a takeaway in a food court. The food came out quickly, but the brisket was chewy and not very hot. It was okay overall.

Shoutout to Shanell! She's an absolute rockstar. Her positive attitude and awesome recommendations made my BBQ lunch a fantastic experience. She was super attentive and made sure we were taken care of from the moment we walked in. Give her a raise!

Yelp
I like the brisket sandwich. The people there have knowledge of the food. I will definitely come back again to try it all out.

Yelp
I overall thought my meal here was not bad! One of the staff members was clearly new, so the food took a little longer than typical. Their brisket was tender and flavorful. I also really enjoyed their sausage as well as the Texas toast they include in each meal. The mac and cheese here was not bad as well and made in small batches.

Yelp
Me and my family just came here and had some of the brisket, but I will recommend that you get the charcuterie never seen that before the barbecue place

Yelp
I ordered the Bowl Up for $13 with the salad. The salad was made up with over 3/4 black beans which were disgusting. I also ordered a side of green beans (extract $4) that looked as if they were cooked a couple of days ago. No matter what management has to say I will not be back and I am out a hard earned $20. Brisket Rules serves cheap food at high prices don't fall for it.

Yelp
Ordered the brisket sandwich and found it to be pretty good -- above average for fast food barbecue. I'd give it a 4 star review if the pricing was a bit less. $14 for just the sandwich is a bit steep and it didn't have much to make it stand out. Still, you could do worse.
