Chicago’s Best Barbecue Restaurants | Eater Chicago

"South Side-style barbecue is, understandably, a rarity on the other parts of town. This Humboldt Park spot is the welcome exception to that norm, utilizing an aquarium smoker to produce tasty rib and turkey tips, links, and slabs of ribs. There’s a non-pork smoker, too, for folks with dietary restrictions." - Ashok Selvam

The portion size for the amount of money doesn’t add up. I ordered 2 large combos, one combo had about 6 fries, meat dry with very little sauce. The other combo tips were burnt and fries weren’t cooked throughly.

TIP 32

I purchased what I taught was a small turkey hot link which was two links not hot with about 12 fries and two pieces of white bread for 14.00 . The sauce is from restaraunt depot not the sauce they use to have I was highly disappointed for the money I got have went to on of my Thai restaurants and got a soup ,appetizer and entree for 10.95 ....SMDH

I have a long list of places I want to try and Bro N Laws has been on my list for a little while until today. Im happy I finally made it. My initial introduction to Bro N Laws was noce as I had to savor the aroma of the great smell of bbq smoke while I waited for my order. I called ahead and didnt have to wait long. The place has Pretty chill vibe. Got home and placed the spread on the table. Started with the links, a bit dry and almost reminded me of breakfast sausage but I did enjoy the spiciness of the link. Next I worked on the tips, Chopped thin but very tasty and tender. Next the ribs also a tad bit dry but I love the smoked flavor of the ribs, the bbq sauce is great too tangy and pairs very well with the smoked flavor of the meats. Last i had the chicken, also great smoked flavor, tender and on Point. I have to say my entire meal was great. I Loved the whole spread. Glad I visited Bro N Laws, I added them to my very short list of Favorite BBQ spots in Chicago. Better than the trendy bbq spots you'll here about in Chicago, I do recommend.

Turkey tips combo was cut sausage link pieces and BONES! The tips were inedible...eating shards of sharp bone fragments and turkey bones was dangerous! It would have been a choking hazard for me and especially my children. They ate cake. While it wasn't generously frosted, it was large enough to split with two boys. The sides were decent and the fish was delicious and fried to near perfection. Bro-in-laws...the turkey is already dead...please stop trying to butcher it to hell.

Spent $54.14 on 2/21/25 got xl order combo tips & links, and some chicken wings. Very displeased with food! Tips were tough, and cut thin, links were burnt, chicken tasted old all food was cold! Massive change from last year🤦🤦😨

This was my first time trying them because I always hear Cathy Lockett on 1390 radio bragging on how good this restaurant is. This is a black owned business. The restaurant is take out only. It was very clean. The employees were not friendly but they weren’t nasty either, they don’t offer any input they just point you to the menu so know what you want when you get to the register. As for my first time the food wasn’t a hit! I purposely purchased the mini tip as a sample try. The bbq sauce was the best part of the order. My food was luke warm, they barely put any sauce on the tips but most of all the tips were too tough. The price was $12 but the portion size was adequate for a mini. I will give them another try before closing them out.

The price of a large tip and large hot link is not worth it at all. I have visited this place quite a few times in hopes that the small quantity of food was a fluke for the price I paid. NO, it's expensive but the amount of food you get is that of a mini tip and mini link opposed to a large. Won't be back!

What I'm going to ask from Bro-N-Laws is consistency be open and on time I recently had a small rip top on $10.00 dollar Tuesday which I enjoyed😋 I go back the next Tuesday and of course it wasn't open! BTW Customer Service skills are important maybe just to me🤔
